A post office with an ocean view. Park free (with 30 min time limit) on Via Tejon, peer thru the glorious big pine trees as you walk the quaint brick path to the entrance & you'll enjoy a lovely view of not only the ocean but a eucalyptus grove in Valmonte, just across PV Drive. Malaga Cove is a beautiful area, just one reason this is my fave little postal facility of all time. The other reason is Rita, who works there. She greets me by name when I walk in. We chat briefly about everything under the sun if no one is waiting behind me. Speaking of waiting, best time to come here is between 10:30 am & noon, after the morning "rush". As if there is a rush, because usually the line consists of only a few people, who are also greeted by name because everybody knows everybody here. Its like stepping back in time to experience Mayberry. People in "line" are chatting up a storm with each other, too. It's like a booze-free happy hour, any time of day. Be sure to check out the cool greeting cards for sale here that are cheaper than at a card store, and quite unique. And, although the facility is closed both days on weekends, there's still Saturday pick-up from the 2 mailboxes (drive-up or walk-up) out in front. I'm always amazed that I can send a piece of mail across the country for 50 cents (soon to be 55). By comparison, I get 20 min or less at a local parking meter for 50 cents. I was even more amazed at my experience yesterday. I had a last minute snafu, through no fault of my own, whereby I had to get a letter to St. Louis...fast. I rushed into the post office at 2:30 pm, explained my dilemma to Rita, considered a couple of options, ended up using 1-day for $24.70. If it doesn't get there by noon tomorrow, Rita told me, you get your money back. I'd just need to come over to my Mayberry P.O. & they'd refund my $. Well, I thought, I'll be getting my $ back cuz there's no way this thing is getting to MO that fast. If I hand-delivered it (get to LAX, fly to MO, get to the address...) I couldn't do it. Even in a private jet it would be a logistical challenge. And either way it would cost a helluva lot more than 25 bucks. But USPS did it. It got to St. Louis before 9am today & was delivered at 11:30, their time. In this day & age, maybe I shouldn't be blown away by such a feat....but I am. These people must've been trained by Santa, there's no other explanation. So I get views, Mayberry, & modern tech efficiency....all for a ridiculously low cost. Unless compared to email, I take issue with the term "snail mail".....although there's something quite delightful about snail mail, as described in my previous review of this post office. Gotta go check my mailbox now. I'm hoping for a Christmas card from someone far away I haven't seen in many years. Maybe there will even be a letter inside. Sure beats texting.

Is it weird to have a favorite post office? One way or the other, this is mine. This is a small post office tucked away from the masses. As few know about its existence, it is generally free from the crowds that you find at the other post offices in the area. Oh no, am I giving away it's secret. Currently, there is only one postal employee working here. Which is a bit strange on the part of the postal service. This being said, she is very nice and does a great job of running the whole show. But, shuuu. Keep all of this a secret.

I usually try to support any business that is in my home city. I am a very nice person and I don't complain about customer service usually. That was until I came to this place. I walked into this post office with high spirits. I had just sold an item on eBay for a very good return. All I had to do to complete my day was to ship the item. I paid for shipping prior to arriving at the post office. It was pretty expensive, like 50 plus dollars just to ship a small item. Well, everything was going good for me until I entered the post office. I noticed this white man (customer) was upset and was attempting to settle a current issue he was encountering. Well the employee, an older black lady, was extremely rude to him and continued to tell him to call and make a complaint. I was upset with how she was treating him but I was in a hurry so I continued to wait in line. When the rude lady finally called me up, she had a very ugly and disgusting attitude. I told her I was shipping an item for eBay and she pointed out that I had to print it out. Well I told her I don't have a printer with me and she stated it was not her fault. I asked why did I pay 50$ if they can't provide paper. She continued to have an attitude and told me to come back with the label printed out. I ended up leaving this place really upset and went to the post office in Torrance and I got the label printed for free. That employee needs to be talked to because she doesn't treat customers with respect.

Organized and not as crowded towards the late afternoon and closing time.

I had a last minute need for USPS and this location was the closest. I was impressed with their level of professionalism and friendliness. It was nearing closing time and this location wasn't busy. There was sufficient parking, so I got in and out quickly. I would highly recommend this location due to convenience of parking, professionalism and ability to meet their customer's needs.

Because of this I went on the website and set up a delivery for today 03/01 between 3 and 7 pm. I was patiently waiting in the front room and occasionally checking the website for any updates. Then at 6:20 I see an attempted delivery at 6;00 pm. I look at my son and say did I miss something? There was no truck down our street there was no knock on our door and there was absolutely no phone call even though they had my phone number. I call the 800 number and spoke to Angel who said she would try to call the hub. After about 5 minutes or so she came back and said there is nothing she can do...its a 2 man team and one of the team members went home. Wait its only 6:20 and the hub is 1 hour away! How could one team member have gone home when they were barely only 20 mins away? She said we will deliver on Monday...I said wait what? What time 8:00 am. I said I now have to stay home? What happened to Saturday? She said we dont delivery Sat. I said I had the option to pick Sat why not? She said she will get a manager to call me on Sat. I said is that a promise? She said yes she did all she could do and though I was still very frustrated thanked her. I will wait and hope i get that call to resolve the issue tomorrow Sat morning. ************************************************** Well it's Saturday afternoon at 3:00 pm and no manager call in fact no call from any Pilot rep. The young lady on the 800 number was really not an "Angel" even though her name was supposedly. Either that or she was blowing me off as all the bad reviews suggest. Needless to say and to protect myself I rescheduled the delivery to Monday from 9 to 12 and have to rely on a family member to sit at my house for the delivery. My next update will be on Monday afternoon. Hopefully it will be positive. My experience thus far has not been.

Nayeem was super helpful throughout the whole process. I told Nayeem that I'd like to have everything printed in 1.5 weeks' time so I could get it into the hands of my wedding coordinators. He had everything done in half the time! Not to mention, I asked my friend who used to work at a print shop and she said that their pricing is very favorable compared to others. Over the phone, I explained to him that each of the place cards were unique in the sense that each card had the guest's name and a unique image (so 128 different images). He said it wouldn't be a problem. I also sent him the files for each custom game cover and he knew exactly what kind of paper I would need to make the prints fit like a glove. I also let him know that I wanted to print out unique cut-outs of my pets (who had been turned into video game characters). I didn't need any sticks or wires to hold the cut-outs, but he offered me a couple of fun ideas to use them as props! I appreciated his fun and creativity. The team at Lomita Mail and Print were so excited to give me the finished products. They said it was one of the more unique requests they received and even included a couple of video game character stickers for me. The products were such high quality. Even after being exposed to some light rain, my welcome poster and pictures were relatively unharmed. The pet cut-outs made it through an evening of being at the photobooth and are now posted on our walls as decoration. The game covers we popped out and are keeping as cherished memories. Thank you, Lomita Mail and Print!! Highly recommend coming for all your printing and mailing needs!
