Saturdays are BUSY! This is the Torrance main post office. Besides the post office in the Del Amo Mall that opens at 10:00am, this is rhe only option for Saturday in the area. Only 1 employee when the doors open and the line is long. Many people are coming with passport applications. Those people were to be in a different line but there are no signs that say that and the "passport office" that is off to the side is no longer used. The 1 employee has to help those in line AND watch for people walking in the door so they don't get in the PO line but need to go to the passport line. Argh!!! I tried to use the self serve machines but they didn't offer the mail service, just packages. Sigh.... The employee was pleasant despite it being a Saturday. Ok, bye. read more

Mailing an envelope to Germany... I just wanted to make sure that my greeting card would get delivered... I parked in the free parking lot without any problems on a Thursday afternoon. Located on the corner of Crenshaw Boulevard and Monterey Street, this Post Office has two entrances. I chose the one on the left and went straight to the drop box. Easy! The entrance on the right had full service available - with staff to answer questions and process items for mailing. This is a very spacious location! I liked the roses outside... and the air-conditioning inside! Thanks to Sam B. for the Hello Kitty sticker... that was great timing!!! Discrimination at this location! I went to purchase a money order which I have purchased frequently from this location every month. I asked if I was able to use two different forms a payment, I was turned away because I didn't have my physical card. I use Apple Pay EVERY time( and it's my debit card so I have to enter my PIN) I get a money order. I have stopped using a physical card ever since Covid. The man at the counter was rude, when I asked him why I couldn't use Apple Pay after telling him I use it all the time he said because of fraud, well ok I also have my id to match my card as well as all my receipts from all my previous transactions at this particular post office. When I asked when policy took affect he didn't have answer. Just shooed me away. I also looked at the post office website and it states that you can use Apple Pay, no where on the site does it state that Apple Pay canon't be used. *Also he speaks about fraud, this is the same post office that lost my rent in the mail back in March, the same money order I paid with using Apple Pay, and looking at previous several people have lost monetary items at this location... Someone in the management of this post office needs to pay attention to the reviews. I was there on 7/16/25 around 3:30pm. There was a long line of people and 3 cashiers. The Asian lady started doing some paperwork, so she stopped helping people in line. Then there were 2 cashiers. The African American man decides to take a break. Between the UP Post office in Torrance, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach and Manhattan Beach, I would choose this Torrance location anytime. The staff is efficient and friendly and more incline to help. Service is usually pretty quick unless you're standing behind customers who are processing 3 or more certified mailing or large packages. The attitude of the staff is pleasant, when you're in the customer service industries, this is important to walk in and be greeted or smiled at. Its not pleasant to show up at other UP post offices and staffs are talking amongst themselves and behave as though they do not want to be there doing their job. read more

I came to this post office because I received a notice that a package was not delivered and being held "at customers request " which I didn't request. After waiting 30 mins, it's finally my turn. I tell him "I received a notice that a package could not be delivered and it is here for pickup". To which he says, "it's not here"...without even asking my name or anything. I then explain "the notice i checked this morning still says it's here". He then says "are you telling me how to do my job? It's not here." I ask him to check anyway, which he takes my ID and quickly comes back and says "I told you nothing here. I know my job" . I show him the notice from the usps website saying "held at post office at customer request" and he says "it says that because we didn't have time to deliver it yesterday so it's out for delivery today". Just wasted 30 mins of my day to have the most disgusting customer service for a person that clearly knows and hates his job. Update: SURPRISE mail has been delivered and no package!!! read more

[Review #583] 2020 Yelp 100 Challenge (94/100) My husband & I frequent this US Post Office for its convenience & hours, especially since COVID-19 rampage... often shipping items we sell on eBay or Amazon. Due to its prime location, there's often long lines, but service can be relatively quick when customers just need a quick weigh-in for postage. And if your needs are simple like buying stamps or postage for your package, they likely can be processed via self-service kiosks. Did you know this location processes passports? The passport center is on the west/far right side. I've had mine done 3x (the last time was in 2019), & my kids' initial passport here. However, even with an appointment, it's not always honored (i.e. passport administrator is unavailable or out to lunch) so I question why this is even necessary. And even with an appointment, other customers will rudely interrupted thereby delaying the process on my time. :-| For its size, parking though fairly spacious is definitely not ample, but we're usually able to use the outdoor mailbox just west of the entrance. Staff are polite & usually efficient... but can be short staffed especially near the holidays & on Saturdays. This location is one of the better post offices in the South Bay. read more

There are a bunch of thieves stealing mail at this branch and forging checks and cashing them. Beware. Also, this place has the worst customer service. Let's start with the bad. The parking is insanity, and appointments usually run late because they are understaffed--we need more people to manage scheduled appointments! Now, to the good. I made this review in light of all the times I've come here. The staff is much friendlier (and younger) than other Post Offices I've been to around the area. The person managing my passport appointment goes by James, and he's very patient and friendly. He didn't make me feel bad for not knowing what to do on certain parts of my passport application that I intentionally left blank so I could get a little assistance for it. Although my appointment started later than I scheduled it for, I was out of the post office rather quickly after my appointment started. Waiting in line you don't feel like you're stuck in a claustrophobia-inducing government office building with separate bar/glass counter windows (speak through the little opening). None of that. Yes, the lines can get long but that's all post offices. Set your expectations and you'll have a much more pleasant experience. If I had bothered to review this branch USPS office in Torrance, CA before, I probably rated it one star (since zero isn't an option). If this location weren't so convenient to my other places of business, I'd definitely explore other options. But now, I'm stuck doing business here... and here the bad definitely comes along with the good. Clearly the staff at this location are complacent at best (and maddeningly inept nearly always). I spent most of this morning being inconvenienced and asked to wait, while various staff looks at their apparently-flawed, -or (thanks to the Trump Administration and his atrocious appointee[s] apparently intended to gut the entire system so private interests can profit even more obscenely) damaged postal data/records system. Today I learned that, according to Supervisor Carla, they rented the same box to two postal patrons. Which naturally made at least one of us (me) a bit crazy. Carla seemed more interested in being bossy to all near her, than in resolving her office's serious errors. But after much discussion and myself standing my ground, she backed down (it wasn't a pleasant experience for me--other customers at the time seemed like this sort of annoyance is nothing new here). However, after much discussion and hand-wringing (and my very-patient and very-long waiting), they finally assigned me a different (I hope and pray, non-problematic) mailbox. Since they apologized and corrected their mistake after they reluctantly admitted their error, I'm going the extra mile in being forgiving, too. I reminded them that currently they're rated 40% good (a failing grade everywhere else) here, and surely they can and must do a lot better. After all of the hassles and rudeness I still encountered to resolve the issues affecting my mail delivery today, I think 3 is a fairly generous rating. Warning to all Torrance, CA postal customers: if they mess up your mail, they are very reluctant to admit (and even to apologize for) it. You may be forced to aggressively demand better service while the supervisor rolls her eyes and tries to blame recipients for problems with which we had nothing to do--and in my opinion, no one should have to endure what they put me through. The Torrance post office made it feel like an impossible task to get my daughter's passport renewed. I made three different trips to do it and each time the only lady that does passports kept putting up new things for why I could not do it. This review is for the Torrance Main USPS Office 2510 MONTEREY STREET TORRANCE, CA 90503 I called this location to set up an appointment so I could come in and submit my application for a new US Passport (must be done in-person). I was placed on a very long hold, and then placed on another hold after being told that the lady who's supposed to pick up the phone "is back at her desk." The lady who was "back at her desk" left me hanging for over 20 minutes. In total, I was on hold for over 44 minutes before I hung up. Don't believe it? Click on my photo to see the timestamp. I am writing to seek your assistance with a situation I am currently experiencing with one of your postal carriers KIM (a woman who is of short stature, has a pug-like or stocky build, older. gives the impression of a more masculine demeanor) who delivers mail to my home business located in the Country Hills This issue has adversely impacted my business, and as a result, I seek your intervention to resolve the matter. The carrier KIM appears to be upset with me due to where I park my car, which she believes makes it more inconvenient for her to deposit and pick up the mail from the mailbox of the residence across the street from me, without her having to lean out her vehicle to put the mail in the box. However, it is worth noting that KIM would have a different difficulty if there were trash cans, cars, or street sweeping day, I live on the other side of the street at the same time as she intended delivery. Despite there being nothing in the way of obstructions in front of my home where my mailbox is located, KIM has been refusing to deliver and pick up my packages let alone scan them. Because of this refusal, I traveled to the Post Office and place a package containing $400 of merchandise in the bin after she refused to pick up. Unfortunately, my customer notified me after a few days that she had not received the package, and it appears to be lost matter of fact it never left Redondo Beach. ( which you know all about) In addition, KIM refused to scan my packages, and as a result, it was necessary for me to take additional steps that delayed delivery to my clients. Her personal vendetta against me for the parking of my car is negatively impacting my business, and her behavior strikes me as "overboard." I won't be bullied by a federal employee. As a black small business owner who designs dance costumes for children suffering from cancer, my clients' satisfaction is of utmost importance. Delayed or missing mail and packages could mean the difference between a child feeling special for one day or feeling disappointed because she missed her performance, she practiced for a year to perform. I cannot risk my clients filing a credit card dispute if they do not receive their products in time for their first and only dance recital. I have tried numerous times to contact the postmaster in Torrance, HUNDREDS of times but there has been no response. If Kim as a problem doing her job. I suggest a solution such as calling the city to put yellow paint on the curb to prevent people from parking too close and requesting an inspection to establish the problem that needs to be addressed, but to no response for the postmaster. Furthermore, I have noticed that the carrier in question shows up to work in sloppy attire, which goes against the USPS dress code and her behavior contrasts with her predecessor, Kathy who has cancer and delivered mail to our neighborhood for over eight years without any issues. We liked her so much we would leave frozen bottles of water in the mailbox on hot days. The black American lady who covers for the lazy lady on her days off. I have had the pleasure of interacting with her on several occasions, and with a busted knee, I am always impressed by her professionalism, kindness, and commitment to her job. It is important to note that while I understand the Postal Service's concerns about the safety of its mail carriers, particularly in situations where they may have to navigate around parked cars, mail carriers already face a variety of hazards on a daily basis. In conclusion, I felt it necessary to escalate this issue to a higher authority. The open counter design of this post office, allowing those with postage paid (pre-paid) parcels to drop them off conveniently without sanding in line is an advantage this location has over so many others which seem to have a locked out lock-down design that you can't simply drop packages off. The self service kiosks to avoid lines and buy your own postage is great and it's so funny to see tech-phobes so afraid to use them, willing to stand in line for 30 mins or more when they could buy stamps and postage within mere minutes at a kiosk. Despite waiting for an extended period to renew my passport and having made an appointment, I encountered unhelpful staff members. This Post Office has to be the worst ever. Not only do they lose mail, their attitude in nothing short of unhelpful. When you ask to speak to a supervisor, they are conveniently "not available". I was told to call 310-222-5902. They don't answer and there is no way to leave a message. The complaint form is almost unreadable it has been copied so many times. I am sure outside of work, the staff are nice people, but at work, they could care less. As I stood in line over many days, I saw how they treated people. People come to the post office because they need help, not because they want to. So when you are there, they make you feel like you are bothering them. Also, is it appropriate to wear ear buds while you are working the counter? Bottom line, avoid this post office if you need help or assistance of any kind. Ted at this post office went above and beyond to help me retrieve critical and time-sensitive express mail that would have been too late if I waited for the regular delivery to my house. He called me on my cell phone after rummaging through all of the packages to find mine because he knew I needed them today. I am so grateful. One bad experience may color the rest of one's experiences at the post office. For me, this one great experience will make up for any bad ones in the future. Terrible! I've had 2 packages this week say they can not deliver to my address because of no access, which is not true! I've never had any issues with any other carry service. So after days of calling customer service getting automated lines I come into the office. Packages can not be found and then gave me another number to call, one I've already called and it's not in service! I called the number right in front of them to prove it.
