I rarely have issues with USPS, but I had to write one for customer service today. I waited in a long line for a prepaid labeled package, and the man rudely told me to proceed with a machine instead. "We don't have time". I have already waited in line, at least just take my package this time. I have always waited in line for prepaid labeled packages, so I can get a receipt. If I had the option, I would definitely not chose a star. I went to process/gather information for my passport, gentlemen was very helpful and since I didn't have all my proper documents decided to come back another day. The following week I went back to process and go forward with my application. Line was quick waiting maybe only 2 mins. Once at the front counter, I provided the application and the gentlemen in the front was very rude. He noticed my picture wasn't attached/stapled onto the application and said that it needed to be stapled and that I had to do that cause "he didn't get paid to do that !" I asked for his staple, and asked if I can just move to the side and he helped the other customers. After I was done and he was complete with that transaction. I got back I'm his counter space and I said I also needed a money order. He asked for how much, and then I said "well can you guide me on the prices?" He responded with "I don't know them !" Confused about his response, I ask if he can ask/inquire for the prices and he tells me. "Go to that line and she can help you !" By this time, I'm getting a bit frustrated cause your in the front counter and don't know anything about the application, prices. I did mentioned that I was here last week and there was a gentlemen who was willing to help and his response "Unfortunately, I'm not him !" At this point I'm completely over his comments and lack of knowledge and professionalism. Luckily the other employee comes and decides to help. Application, money order and a Few other information that I need to know. I did notice that everyone at the front had a name badge and he didn't (how ironic) as I was finishing up with the other employee, he goes on saying something about not being accountable or something. I ignore him, didn't say anything. Completed my transaction and out of there. I really wanted to talk to the manager, but i was there during lunch. But definitely NEVER coming back to this location for any transactions. So warming: If there's a tall bald gentlemen, run the other way. He's rude, doesn't know anything else about Postal services. It generally works as well as any business; packages taken and weighed and always given time to see latest beautiful postage stamps. Yeah interior is pretty bleak but they take some time to at least hi light Christian December holidays and some other holidays with items to purchase. There is at least one supervisor who publicly berated the employees and I will definitely stand up to that next time I hear this-not ok to speak to humans that way. At the holidays they have extra windows open and things move along well. Problems occurred when: our Mail carrier reported our dog as dangerous so we had to move mailbox to curb and then he kept skipping our house. Karma is a bummer is all I can say about him. Well I have to say it's getting a little bit better. Still the quality of their job could still use some improvement though. I still can't believe the misdelivered mail I see posted on the bulletin board, that is totally unexcusable. Torrance Post Office you need to train your employees to correctly look at the number on the envelopes. Lazy, Lazy some need to get off their cell phones while their working. Supervisors maybe you need to be out on the field and observe your workers. It sure is hard to find good qualified people these days to work. They want the money, but don't want to put the effort in. Unfortunately the people that they hire are thieves. I have had 2 packages (states that they are delivered & nothing) both times the boxes again unfortunately labeled as to what was in the package & I'm sure that's why it was stolen. My order was through Adidas & the first package was $210$ & my most recent package was over $280$ these were items that can not be reordered because they were a limited addition, limited quantity & when I went to pick up a package today that was once again shoes I was told they won't hold it because I didn't pay the post office an extra $16$. What's worse is that the MANAGER Karla didn't even care to listen, kept cutting me off when I was trying to explain my frustration (which should be understandable) slammed her hands together in an aggressive manner & then slammed the pick up window in my face after telling me she would get me customer services phone number. After waiting 20 mins for this phone number I decided to leave & take my chance looking up the number myself. This is such a dysfunctional USPS & it sucks that I have had things stolen & I'm still awaiting for someone to do something about it. read more

In the last 10 years, I've managed leave the country 7 times to visit 11 other countries. Three of those 11 countries, I visited twice. So when it came time to renew my passport for the next 10 years, I did my research on how to do this process as smoothly as possible. Especially since I read the reviews for the passport services at this post office location, I wanted to be prepared for potentially rude employees. Here's what I did: - downloaded my passport renewal form (DS-82) at https://travel.state.gov/content/passports/en/passports/renew.html - filled out the form and printed it - asked my co-worker to take my photo - used https://www.epassportphoto.com/ to make sure my photo fit the proper specs - downloaded the photo file (.jpg) from epassportphoto.com for FREE :) - uploaded the .jpg to walgreens photo website and requested a one hour print in a 4x6 size (four passport photos can fit on one 4x6) - picked up my photo and spent $0.29 + tax for the print - brought the following items to this post office location: my old passport, the completed renewal form, (one) passport photo, and a $110 check payable to U.S. DEPARTMENT OF STATE. According to usps.com, this post office location provides passport services M-F 9am-2pm. But when I got there, I found out that it's for new applications only. Renewals are done by mail. They do however provide renewal forms for those who are unable to download them online. So I got in the regular mailing services line. I still was unsure if I did everything correctly and the lady who works in front of the counter ushering the line and answering basic questions was very dismissive and not very helpful. Luckily when I got to the counter, the friendly clerk behind the counter offered to make sure I did everything correctly before mailing my old passport, renewal form, photo and check to the address indicated on the renewal form. Then I sent it priority mail for tracking purposes. It cost me $6.45 for 2-day shipping. Three and a half weeks later, I have my new passport in hand! BTW, I did not do a rush order so I actually received this weeks earlier than expected :) I wonder what countries I'll visit in the next 10 years? Recommendations are welcomed! read more

The male service clerk is extremely rude! Passport walk-in hours are M-F 3:30 to 5:00pm. I went in at 3:30 and waited for 40 mintues only to be kicked out. When it was my turn the clerk said he couldn't accept anymore passport applications because he had to go home and made an announcement that anyone else there for passport services should leave and go to other places instead of a post office. The post office is an acceptanced facility to apply for a passport and designated hours should be respected and not left to the whim of the clerk. read more

I would love to give this post office zero stars but hello we all know how this works. This is not the first rodeo for me. I have lost W-2s, checks, and now I have lost clothing that was coming in. They said it was undeliverable yesterday yet there should had been no issues with them getting to our door and a ring camera gave video of them breathing by our house without even attempting. I was told that there was going to be a delivery attempt today. I stop by the post office today to see where my package was as I have the tracking number and of course they said it wasn't there and of course even though we showed him video of our post office worker zooming by our house without even stopping nothing. Why would I assign a post office a rating of five stars? - When I send mail from here, my parcels seem to get ANYwhere in the country to which I've sent them quicker than when I send from any other post. - This location has a drive thru, which is ideal for my lazy errand-runner moments. - The staff is consistent (low turnover) and pretty friendly, generally speaking. - They, generally, have the new, popular, and limited edition stamps in stock when other locations run out. - This office holds lobby hours so customers can utilize automated machines after main office hours to begin their snail-mail's journey. We USED TO have 24/7 access to this space but no longer - which leads me to my soapbox... I recently discovered from a postal employee that the post offices across the South Bay have had to restrict access to mailboxes and after-hours lobbies because of mail theft. Seriously?!? People have taken fraud to a crazy new level. I am a night person and used to employ this space as a late night office to send projects when I couldn't sleep. (Yeah - I do dorky stuff like that!) Busy as it's close to the holiday season. One lady came up to help with the label on my package. There are several self service machines so that's one way to save time. When about 10 people lined up, more people came out to the front so I didn't have to wait that much. Service is efficient. The parking space is limited but as people come and go, it's not hard to find someone leave. read more

Consistently the worst Post Office in the South Bay area - especially bad under current "virus" life. I am a regular customer and ship approx. 5-10 packages a month minimum. Depending on which clerk you get, in addition to the long wait in line, you may or may not get the service you're looking for. Twice, very recently, I was told that I could not get a receipt for services I had paid for. This, despite having gotten receipts from other clerks in the same office on different days during the pandemic. Which begs the question - is it a rule or are you just making it up because you dont want to do your job? The first time, I complied, probably bc I was too shocked to demand one. The second time I insisted on getting a receipt for my insured package. Point being, if my insured package gets lost, are they just going to take my word for it and honor my claim? OF COURSE NOT. They are going to ask for proof in the form of a receipt that I dropped it off. So again - its obviously NOT an official rule. To be sure, I have gotten receipts at other Post Offices under the same timeframe and circumstances with no problem. So, to sum it all up - you have LAZY employees at this location who are DENYING paying customers the service they wait in line for. Its likely illegal and should be dealt with by management. Of course, you cant get anyone locally to answer the phone, so...this is why people hate the U.S. Postal Service and why I will likely begin using UPS OR FED-EX. read more

THE WORST post office location I've ever visited! I'd rate it "0" If it's possible! I know that these days we need to practice social distancing etc and we were standing line according to the sticker on the floor to space 6 feet between each person.. and there were at least 6 or so stickers on the floors but suddenly the window clerk yelled at us to go outside to allow only 2 people there at the time. there was a long long line outside. I went there to pick up undelivered items cause I didn't receive the important items at my work yesterday that's supposed to arrive by the day(guaranteed delivery date) & used tracking system which said "delivery attempted...held at the post office at customer request" which is BS. we were there yesterday and nobody delivered the item anyway, thus I was frustrated already, went there and after waiting 30 min in line, the Latina clerk was so rude just looking at her PC screen, said "it's in truck now!! case closed!" I showed her my phone's screen & asked why it's saying that "the item held at the post office and pick up available at the post office" and asked her if she could go check the backroom in case they have the stuff for my address but she didn't even bother...just kept saying "case is closed" If other businesses treat customers like that, it would be totally unacceptable, they'd be gone out of business before you can say' Jack Robinson!"' I was furious all the way back to work. So let me begin by saying that I only gave one star because I had to to do this review. I have a package that was supposed to be delivered yesterday which was the third today is 4 January and we are starting the new year off very wrong. My package is being held at the Torrance location for whatever reason I don't know the mailman usually just put my package in front of my door as I requested for all packages to be delivered at my door.. as a customer I am trying to do the right thing by staying home because I don't feel well. I was home yesterday when they supposedly delivered or tried to deliver. I have a ring doorbell which never alerted me and now I have to go into the post office to pick up my package when it should've been delivered to my door yesterday, then I tried calling the Torrance location several times and because nobody is available to answer our calls. It told me to go onto the USPS website which I've already done several times and I know that the product is being held at the Torrance location. the problem is I can't get down there because I don't feel well and I was told by the one 800 number that you keep packages there for 15 days but my problem is why is it that certain packages get delivered and certain packages do not this is frustrating for the customer. This is frustrating for me because now I have to get my butt up out of bed when I should be resting and go pick up a package that was supposed to be delivered at the front door for whatever reason it's telling me that it was at my request and I never requested to pick up a package at the post office when we're not in 1846 where horses deliver mail!!!! and I can see why this post office specifically has a rating for their reviews because you guys suck!!! we need to get better at delivering packages. I was immediately approached if I needed assistance using a self serving kiosk. Always get mail for my neighbors in my mailbox, and have to deliver to proper person. Only get mail every-other-day in most cases, and now they are returning my mail to senders saying my address is UNDELIVERABLE even though I have been at my address and received my bills and checks from same places for years. Worst ever! Mail carrier delivered my rent payment (sent by next day mail) to the wrong address. And I've been calling this local branch all afternoon and nobody has answered the phone. Meanwhile my land lady is wondering what's up with the rent. Not only was the package delivered to the wrong place, it was five days late! It was supposed to arrive on Friday, the day after I mailed it, but instead, it was delivered five days late, to the wrong damn address. Filing a claim for my money order will take at least two weeks. So I'll have to come up with extra rent money in the meanwhile. read more

Worst customer service. Today is October 5, 2021, Tuesday. I spoke with a woman on the phone at around 10:00 am. I also spoke with her yesterday, and she's not a people person at all. I was very polite, and it seems that the situation was reversed because she's the aggressive one. I was following up on my delivery which was not successfully delivered to our address on Sunday. I chose that item because it was supposed to arrive on October 5 and I would be home then, but it didn't arrive. Yesterday, Monday, when I called, the woman said that it was not delivered because it was Sunday (???). So, okay. She confidently and arrogantly said that if an item weren't delivered on a Sunday, it would be delivered on Monday. So, I waited the whole day yesterday even though I received a notice that again, delivery was not successful at around noon. I tried to call them yesterday from around 4 pm to 5 pm, but no one answered the phone. I called several times... more or less, ten times. Today, Tuesday, I called again, and the woman put me on hold without asking me if it was okay to put me on hold. I was still talking, but she didn't care and just did it. I was very polite and even calling her "Ma'am". I waited, and when she came back, she sounded ready to fight like a gladiator. Very defensive, talking very fast, hostile, and full of excuses. She said that the item was oversized and they were understaffed. I asked when it would be delivered (at least an estimate), she said she didn't know, and I had to wait. I asked her, "until when I should wait," she said she didn't know and told me to pick it up from USPS. I told her I couldn't leave the house, that's why I have ordered online and waited for the item at home. I also mentioned that I don't have a vehicle big enough for the item. Still, this woman doesn't care, would not want to help, didn't lift a finger, didn't try to be kind, just lazy, arrogant, full of hostility, and very defensive. She doesn't want to exercise her mind to think about how else she can help or at least show that she cares. It ended up me telling her, "Never mind." because we're not getting anywhere. I am stuck. Period. I don't want to stress out and play their game. It's the system with the wrong people. Ergo, terrible service. I am now looking for a way to get the item from USPS and move on. read more

This place used to be amazing with late drop offs allowed in the bulk area but now they've all of a sudden stopped taking bulk mail in the back after 6:30pm. They used to allow drop offs until a little past 7pm. At a time when there's talk of USPS needing money and being insolvent, I don't understand why they won't even let me drop off packages that already have postage and everything ready to go. Not only that, when I go, I drop off and sort into the correct bins. No wonder the USPS is going out of business. FedEx and UPS employees are usually way more accommodating and would at the very least accept the packages. I used to say the front office of this location sucked but that the people in the back were super nice and accommodating to businesses but clearly that's not the case anymore. read more

This is not my local Post Office but I do go to it from time to time and I had something to drop off on a Sunday. So I thought I could use the drive-through that they have just to the West of the main buildingI drive-in only to find out that the mailbox is gone. I understand postal security but when the slot is only big enough for envelopes I guess I really don't see a need to move the mailbox and make everyone get other car and go to the next parking lot over. Suggest let everybody know no more drop off mail at this location via your automobile. read more

I've had a good experience every time I come. This time I was helped by Ida at the desk. She was patient and walked me through what I needed to send a certified letter and a package. She was a great to deal with this morning, had a good attitude, and a bright smile. I've never had a problem picking up a package here either. The service level is very inadequate. They did not forward a very important envelope to me as I moved but I got other parcels and envelopes. I called and spoke to Susan. Seems like she really wanted to help but I was told that I would get a call back the next day, it's been weeks. Action speaks louder than words. Tried calling and no one answers the phone, it rings and then disconnects. Called more than 5 times in a day. The phone number is the same for all three post office locations in Torrance so it's hard to know which location you're actually rating. I guess they feel that we need the USPS instead of the competition. BTW, I still don't have that envelope and it's going on 2 weeks. They said, open from 9-2, no appointments. We arrive with our 15 month old at 1pm and they have gone through the 8 numbers or people they will do today. I am not sure where should I begin. My computer was supposed to be delivered on Saturday, signature required. When USPS tried to deliver it, I was not at home. They left a note to pick it up folowing day (Sunday) after 8:30am... Sunday this post office is closed. I came to the post office on Monday 9am to pick it up. And I just had an answer they cant find it. Later on that day I checked the status online, it shows return to the sender on Sunday (1 day after they tried to deliver it.) What the heck? The post office delivered a packed to me that was not mine and therefore I dropped the package off at this location with the intention of returning it to the right owner. I made a Yelp search of this USPS facility the day before my passport appointment and let's just say I wasn't too excited after reading the reviews. Well, I was very pleased to go to my appointment and have John exceed my expectations. He was patient, efficient, knowledgeable and yes, he was nice too. Would give negative stars if I could. I've been coming here a lot unfortunately because it is so close to where I live and work and sending out mail is something that I need to do on a daily basis. Every single employee here Has a different way of doing standard procedures whether it's certified mail to passport. They never greet there customers they never say hello they never say thank you I'm surprised it's even in business. They are always very condescending and demeaning when they speak to you and that is literally every single person and trust me I've been with every single person coming here multiple times out of the week. Now the way that they treat their customers which is rude condescending demeaning is not prejudice by race ethnicity gender age they are equal opportunity condescending.... meaning they are rude to everyone. So everyone gets a fair shot. I am writing this bad review because of today's incident where instead of being educated on why this employee is asking for something that is completely different from what another employee asked for just two days ago he put his hand in my face as if to stop me from talking when I am the paying customer and they are the ones to provide the service, when I said that this is not something that I've had to do just two days ago he said he did not care asked me if I even knew what I was talking about as if I was a child or mentally subordinate and then decided to again put his hand in my face and say he does not care and I can figure it out and go to somebody else this is all done within 20 seconds so I decided to leave which by the way they decide to lock you win once 5 o'clock hits and take my business to Fed ex which will be three times the price but at least I know that nobody is miserable enough to be as condescending as the old guy working here.
