I am normally such a proponent of the USPS, but I feel the need to say that the staff of this particular post office seems to go out of their way to give the USPS a bad name. I came on a Saturday morning to just grab and drop off a form, but I watched as the woman at the counter pointedly ignored an entire line of people standing there waiting for her to start helping them. Even when I went up to ask for the form I needed, and explained they were out, she first did not acknowledge that she had heard me, I repeated myself, and then she began grilling me as to why I needed the form (FFS it is a mail hold form - it serves one single purpose). It is actually exceptional the way in which she ignored absolutely everyone. People like that really make it so much harder to support the post office, and really need to not be the front facing customer service representative. read more

Well - meaning workers, but this is one of the slowest post offices I've ever been to. I was third in line and still waited over 20 minutes. Only two people working behind the corner, and one was in back for most of my visit. The line was out the door by the time I was second in line. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I came in to drop off a package and the manager loudly called out for anyone with boxes to come over so they could "use the electronic scanner." I stepped out of line like he instructed, only for him to realize the internet was down--something a manager should absolutely know before directing customers. Because of this, I had to get back in the long line all over again. There were only two employees working, the line was out the door, and the whole situation was handled with zero awareness or professionalism. How does a manager not even know their own system is down? Completely unorganized, unprofessional, and frustrating. I won't be coming back to this location. read more

Everyone writes bad reviews about the mail, but the mail in Palos Verdes has been top notch for me anyways, all the time! Make sure to always tip your mail carrier, and be nice. Im sure accidents happen but its easy to be a voice in the crowd if you're well known to the Post Office! :) read more

[Review #695] 2023-002 I skipped a review count (695) so backtracking. This U.S. Post Office is within walking distance to my temporary office, but we didn't have any postal/mail needs. I'm acquainted now because I'm on the South Bay Chinese School Board as Treasurer & one of my duties is to pick-up the mail. The PVP office is located on the corner of Silver Spur Rd. & Deep Valley Dr. with a huge private lot off the entrance of Deep Valley Dr. When exiting, watch out for the steep driveway that might scrap your car's undercarriage. TIP: try angling your exit, it avoid scraping your car. Upon entering, you're greeted with rows & rows of postal boxes. At the end of the hallway, there's more boxes on the right before the lobby. This USPS is quite stocked with decorative mailers, stationery, shipping supplies, & a variety of cards: birthday, encouragement, congratulations, etc. There's even a carousel of gift cards in the corner, not sure if it's a good idea to send them via regular mail, but if you're short on gift ideas or need a quickie present -- it's an option. I came on a Friday afternoon to pick-up the school mail & it was quiet. 2 customers in line & a couple at the counter putting together their package. I'm not likely to need actual service, just here for the mail. I am concerned about P.O. Box misplaced mail according to one reviewer but it was awhile ago, though recent reviewers didn't offer favorable comments about the staff's customer service. Hoping we don't have any issues with our box... I'm docking a star for the parking lot's driveway. Recommended: Short lines, clean & well-stocked post office. Can't comment on the staff or customer service; I'm only here to pick-up mail. read more

Rude attitude, poor management, bad system... try your best to avoid to deal with these people by any possibilities!

This location is slowwwwww (and depressing tbh). Came in on Friday at 11am and they only had one person helping the main line, while another person was helping with passports. Both were visibly unhappy and moving with zero urgency even though the line was long. This place reminded me more of the DMV than the actual DMV. Additionally the demographic that comes to this location, as you can probably guess, is a bit older and therefore also slower because of this. Only come to this location if you go during "off" hours. Otherwise, be prepared to wait and finally be helped with mediocre service. read more

While trying to get to another business down the road, I noticed this post office on the way. Couldn't pass up the free parking garage right on-site, and the line wasn't too long in side with at least two associates working. While waiting, they have a fairly decent selection of cards, if you're into that sort of thing. I was just here to buy a stamp and to have a package sent. Employees here were friendly compared to other locations, and the line moved efficiently. Perhaps I was there on a good day but everything seemed fine to me. Small-town feel where I clearly don't belong, but I have zero complaints about my time here. read more

Walked in before 9:00 am on a Saturday morning to renew to passports with no appointment made. We were immediately greeted by Gary asked what he could help us with, had a seat for a few minutes and were helped by Gary, he was very helpful and assisted husband and I with all our questions and concerns regarding the application. I've been coming here for years for passport services for my kids and these ladies have always been kind and well versed in all things relating to passport applications. They do not do photos here anymore but the location is next to the CVS where you can get your passport photos ASAP. Having an appointment is better than not because walk ins need to wait, and if the ladies are out sick or on vacation, no walk ins are accepted. If the website doesn't let you set an appointment you have to go in person to set an appointment with a little appointment machine on the side of the main room. My advice is that if it's a simple renewal, just follow the instructions and mail it in. read more

George at this location helped my mother tremendously when our 2 packages has reversed labels on them. He went out of his way to help us, and was able to help us get them on the correct packages. Unprofessional and dishonest! The only words I can use to describe the passport processing office here. Website clearly states walk ins till 2 and I arrive at 1:15. The worker says we only take till a certain time (lying) and looks at her watch and goes oh yes too late. They used to have two machines for self-service. One day they sent one to repair and never brought it back. Which sometimes makes the line more extended than the regular line (because some people take a long time in the machine). Some cashiers don't like it when you have your pre-paid package ready and go to their line instead. They make a point they have the self-service machine and that we shouldn't go to their line (not all the cashiers, but some do) Please take the other machine back. With two machines, it works pretty well for sef service. read more

If I could give this post office zero stars I absolutely would based on customer service. I witnessed today an elderly gentleman who works behind the counter YELLING at a young girl trying to pick up her mail without "her ticket." The entire line of waiting customers were in disbelief. Today I had an appointment today for passport with my son. I made the appointment in advance, as getting an appointment is near impossible. I arrived five minutes late due to not knowing my way around the hill. I stood in line for 20+ minutes then the women behind the counter finally asked if I had an appointment. I replied yes and she replied that I was "technically late" so I'll be considered a walk in off to the side "if she decides she wants to take me or not." Her tone of voice and attitude was shocking and uncalled for. If you want to be yelled and belittled by multiple employees then feel free to use this post office. read more

This Post Office is atrociously apathetic and incompetent. Carriers routinely mark items as delivered prior to delivering the item. Rarely does anyone answer the phone. Carriers place items in the parcel lockers and the key in the mail box with no markings on the keys so you can't tell which parcel locker has your item. Instead of continually raising prices to compensate for loss of market share perhaps dramatically improving efficiency might bring back customers. Personally, I reached a point of avoiding using the US Postal Service unless I have absolutely no other option, it has gotten that bad. UPS has started to hand parcels off to USPS for the final leg of the delivery, so now UPS is no longer a reliable delivery service. Perhaps (other than Amazon which recognized this problem) this will be the death of online purchases. Way to go USPS. read more

The worst Post Office I have ever seen. Only 1 service person helping the 30+ customers, a 45 minute wait. Some customers just gave up and left. The line was wrapped around the mail box area. Guess the manager does not care. The self service machine was broken again. Skip this place at all costs. read more

They don't answer their phone. Called 5 times in an hour, no one answered. I even placed a stop the mail request two days before the scheduled date to stop (Thursday). What happened? My security camera detected movements for the next three days (Thursday to Saturday) and I see that mailman delivered the mail, which I requested to stop. Then on Monday the mail stopped. I came back from vacation after two week and found out the idiots had dropped off (three) someone else's mail on my street into my mail box. So I put it in the mail box in hoping the mailman will deliver it correctly. The lazy bum did not pick up those mail for three days. Just left it in my mail box with the properly delivered mail to my address. All I can say is that I curse the post office for every time they raise the price for their postage. They allowed somebody else close my PO box without my authorization and returned all my mail to sender. When I asked them who let this happen, they told me they couldn't tell me. I also payed for the box so it was current. I asked for a copy of my receipt and they said they couldn't give it to me for security reasons. These are the most incompetent representatives at any business or service I ever dealt with. Two of them at the desk are so cold and unfriendly I think they may be straight out of jail. They only grimace at you and look at you like you're a burden. How did these individuals ever get hired? Are they even bonded? While I was using this post office it always looked like my mail was tampered with. Some of it opened. I tried to complain several times, but they didn't seem to care. Postal worker named Patricia is extremely rude and racially profiled me the second I walked in. I told her I had a passport appointment at 9 AM and she scoffed and acted like I was inconveniencing her. I arrived 15 min early at 8:45 am to fill out my application and that also seemed to upset her. I filled out my application and got in line. She muttered something at me and rolled her eyes. I asked her to repeat herself because I couldn't hear her and she rolled her eyes again and shook her head at me. She kept questioning me that I've never had a passport. And she also asked for Citizenship papers when i handed my birth certificate that has LOS ANGELES COUNTY listed as my birthplace. The entire interaction was rude and condescending. I will be taking my business elsewhere. I have never been treated like this and left feeling disgusted with this place. This post office needs to sit down with their workers and have a talk before you guys get sued. Months earlier my father applied for a passport here as well and the workers were extremely rude to him as well. They were yelling at my dad and talking down to him. I will be finding corporate's number and reporting. read more

I went there for the passport appointment. An hour later, I realized that I had forgotten my wallet. When I returned, the staff welcomed me and said that a customer had picked it up and handed it to them. I was so grateful that my wallet came back with everything in. Okay, after seeing all the reviews here, I realized I'm definitely not the only one. Every time I've been to this post office, the service has been beyond terrible. I feel like everyone who works here just hate... people? Why are you guys always angry? Who wronged y'all??? It seems like anything that a customer says will piss them off, no matter how nice or respectful you are to them. Peeps, if you had a bad day or hate your job, that sucks but you don't need to put your attitude on your customers. Whatever it is, you're in customer service. If a customer is rude, then hey, I get you. Obviously, that is not the case here. I heard you guys yelling and being rude to multiple customers while I was waiting in line. I ended up going to another post office and thankfully, the employees were actually normal. The manager should consider doing a mandatory customer service training for all the employees. Had an 11:15 passport appt. The post office camera did not have film so I was sent to CVS for a picture. I came back, waited in line and then everyone left for break or wherever. We all just stood there. Two "workers" came back, but just milled around at their stations and we continued to stand there like we were invisible. Before helping anyone, one left again. Unfortunately, this post office is very unwelcoming. Out of 20 visits, I've probably had only 1 good encounter. You can get what you need done but it will be done with an attitude. My mom has been through 2 major surgeries and had the mail on hold on and off since November. Suddenly this post office manager decided that the mail should be returned because the mail man told him that it looks like no one lives there anymore. They didn't even bother to verify if the information was true or not. They just made their own decision not knowing the truth. Horrible management at this location. Now my mom has done mail forwarded to my address. How the management handled things without finding out the truth is stupid. The manager Charles is useless. read more
