Salmon, brussel sprouts, mashed potato. All delicious.

Another great experience at dinner. We both had the salmon with hazelnut dusted grapes. Sounds weird but was really good (better than it looks). Service was excellent and we enjoyed a Manhattan and the Chai Old Fashioned (which I liked but had a lot of syrup that some might not like). I preferred the Creme Bruele for dessert but husband preferred the flour less chocolate torte. Another special evening. We will be back.

I am in Durango this week checking on the progress of the mountain home. I decided to stay in the downtown area this week. I have been Daytona dozens of times but this is the first time I ate at Mahogany Grill. I had the Steak & Lobster and even managed a fruit crisp desert before I was stuffed. I will be full for days and every bite was delicious. When my mountain home is completed in 2024 I will make a habit of eating here. The restaurant is full of old world charm and happy faces. For me this is a dinner place for family, friends and that special date you hope to impress. My waitress Kate is charming and wealth of knowledge about the area. She has lived and worked in Durango for 20 years. If the stars align you can sit by the window and have Kate as your waitress while you enjoy the last few hours of sun light.

This restaurant is part of the Strater Hotel, it's more of the high-end restaurant. The feed was fantastic we ended up getting the elk steak with a Demi glaze and asparagus. It was cooked perfect, more on the rare side then medium. The shops here have never let us down. I WOULD RECOMMEND.

We spent an over night here after taking the scenic train trip from Silverton. The 1880s venue was charming and nostalgic. The salmon was absolutely outstanding. The seasonal salad unfortunately had way too much dressing and was somewhat disappointing. I found the scalloped potatoes not worthy of being on the same plate as the salmon. The service was outstanding. Our male waiter was friendly, prompt and responsive. We celebrated my birthday and they offered a free dessert which I chose their chocolate torte which came garnished with fresh blueberries and a large strawberry. It was amazing to end a lovely evening at the mahogany grill. We were the last ones to leave. Highly recommended.

Since we were staying at the Strater Hotel, and this was accessible without going outside in the cold, and we had a $3 credit, we had breakfast here after our first night. Riley was an excellent waitress - attentive to all our needs, knowledgeable about the menu, and very personable. The dining area is beautifully decorated. We especially liked all the mahogany. Our food was delicious. We had one serving of French toast with fruit (me), chocolate chip pancakes (I sneaked a few bites from my 10 year old niece & it was so good), a short stack of pancakes (2 buttermilk pancakes for husband that he could not finish), bacon, egg & cheese bagel (nephew), and Posole (older niece). My only complaint was the $3 charge for the fruit. Riley said she'd charge me $1.50 - the fruit cup price. It was not worth $3 - only about 6 blueberries & a strawberry sliced up. The atmosphere was lovely. The location was perfect. The food was good. The service was excellent. It was just too pricey for a return visit.

When we ordered takeout, we got the chx fried steak, an omelet, biscuits and gravy and some fresh fruit. All of it was good. When we went into the restaurant, we ordered a BLAT (bacon, lettuce, avocado, tomato), biscuits and gravy and a scramble. Everyone was happy with their choices! Good portions and tasty food. Then I sat there for another 10 minutes and nobody even came back to take my food order, so I finally got up and left. The service was incredibly inattentive and the staff seemed like they couldn't care less. I initially put my name on the waitlist with one of the employees, and when I came back in later to check where I was on the list, the same person didn't even seem to know who I was or remember putting my name down. There only appeared to be a couple people working, and the entire experience felt disorganized from beginning to end. I was really looking forward to having breakfast here based on the reviews, but after 45+ minutes between waiting and sitting at the table without even getting to place a food order, I'd had enough. Warm water was just the icing on the cake. Extremely disappointing experience. I walked out and will not be back.

Not my favorite type of table as I am shorter and having to keep my feet on the footrest or dangle them is uncomfortable. The A.C. was also running on a rainy cold day. I kept my jacket on throughout the meal, which is a little uncomfortable. On to the food, I ordered a shrimp scampi, which came with spinach, asparagus, and red pepper. Lots of veggies and shrimp, with smaller portion of pasta. It was delicious. My S.O. ordered the beef bordelaise, with gravy, mashed potatoes, and asparagus. Unfortunately, the beef bordelaise had several cold bites in it. Thankfully the mashed potatoes were hot so he could mix the bites. He did not ask them to address it. He definitely does not like to send things back, and cause issues with the kitchen. I would have sent it back, especially with the chilly day and AC running. Our waitress was friendly; she checked on us periodically and took empty plates quickly (huge plus!) and brought the check quickly. Happy to eat lunch here, but if I go there again, I will ask to sit in the front at a regular table.

I ordered the chocolate hazelnut crepe and my partner got the chocolate, banana, and almonds crepe. They were so good! Freshly made to order and piping hot. The patio is super cute and cozy with lots of flowers and plants. They grow their own herbs too which I love! There's plenty of street parking that's free on weekends. The crepes are outstanding, truly on par with what you'd expect from a Michelin-star restaurant. Every ingredient is fresh, every plate is beautifully presented, and the attention to detail is remarkable. One of our favorite touches is the stunning flower garden surrounding the wagon. Michel personally tends many of the flowers, and they're often incorporated as beautiful edible garnishes, making each dish feel like a work of art. Michel's Corner is one of those rare places where exceptional food and heartfelt hospitality come together. It's a highlight of every trip to Durango, and we can't recommend it highly enough.

She took the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad to Silverton, but unfortunately I wasn't able to go because of a medical condition that prevents me from traveling to high altitudes, and the train climbs to around 10,000 feet. After she left on her adventure, I decided to find some breakfast. While I was walking around town, my aunt called. She and my uncle used to vacation in Ouray every year, so she knows the area well. She recommended Jean-Pierre Bakery, so that's where I headed. I was seated right away and ordered a coffee while I looked over the menu. My waitress was very friendly, and we chatted for a while. She even recommended a few places around town that I should check out. I finally decided on the Croque Monsieur (brioche, béchamel, ham, and Swiss cheese) served with a salad. When my meal arrived, it looked fantastic. The sandwich was delicious, rich, and full of flavor. It was my first time trying a Croque Monsieur, and I really enjoyed it. The salad was fresh and crisp, and the vinaigrette paired perfectly with it. After finishing my meal, I couldn't resist ordering a pistachio cream-filled éclair that had caught my eye when I first walked in. It looked beautiful, but unfortunately, it was a disappointment. The pastry was very dry, and the bottom was quite hard. It definitely didn't taste freshly made. The pistachio cream had a nice flavor, but there wasn't very much of it. I mentioned my concerns to my server, and she kindly brought me a chocolate éclair to try instead. It also looked wonderful, but it had the same problem. The pastry tasted old, almost like it had been sitting for a couple of days. I would absolutely return for another Croque Monsieur or to try something else from the breakfast or lunch menu because that part of the meal was excellent. As for the pastries, they certainly look beautiful, but based on my experience, I would probably pass on them next time. This would have been a solid 4 star if those eclair had of been good.
