I'm usually a sales associate's worst nightmare. Yes, I'm the girl that walks in to the fitting room with 10 items but only buys one (if I'm lucky). I guess I just found my new favorite boutique because I wanted to buy everything I tried on! I hate going to the stores in the malls because you know everyone else is also shopping there and you will most likely see at least one girl rocking the same dress as you at the club/party. Whenever we are in Waikiki, I like to walk over to Mahina and browse their clothing and accessories. Mahina is located in the Waikiki Beachwalk on the bottom floor, a few doors down from Yardhouse. Clothing styles seem very similar to shops like In My Closet and Eden in Love. Lots of sheer tops, fun dresses, and great prints. Prices are affordable, mostly in the $30-$50 range for clothing, and $7- high $20's for accessories. I love their selection of cocktail rings! They offer a 10% off discount for Kama'aina with a local ID. The service is hit or miss here. A couple of girls here are really friendly, and others, not so much. Basically, a surprising little shop in the midst of the high-priced, high end, touristy retail jungle. read more

Ok, so if I were rating this store on its product alone, I would probably give it 4 stars. Clothing is cute, low in price and 10% for Kamaaina is always nice. However, I think that customer service is much more important in a business than anything else. I dont think the owner/general manager really stresses customer service when training their new employees. EVERY time I walk in this store, the employee is behind the counter on their phone or looking down at something. I never get greeted with a friendly hello or smile. Once I am buying something the girls are fine, but I dont think they realize that they could actually get me to buy more and have me want to come back to the store if they were friendlier and more helpful/suggestive. I really think they need a better training program. I dont get excited walking into this store because I know I am going to be disappointed with the service. And I have heard it from many friends, so I know I am not alone. Cute clothes will keep me coming back as an occasional shopper, but definitely not a frequent or loyal one. read more

I learned about Mahina a few years back on a trip to Maui. As I was in Kihei, I came across a cute, little boutique store and fell in love...the cutest accessories, dresses, tops, shoes. When I found out Mahina was in Honolulu, I was stoked! Strolled in the other day and found the most rockin pair of wedge sandals! Luckily, my feet has been shrinking (I know...kinda strange, right?), but it worked for me as there were only 2 pairs left, a size 6 and a size 8. My size 7 feet could actually fit into the size 6. I felt the prices here for their clothing is pretty reasonable. The workers in this store were pleasant and didn't hesitate to help you if you asked them for something. My daughter bought 2 dresses, 2 rompers, and a bralette, I bought a bralette, and a flowing dress. When I went to the register to pay, the worker asked me if I was local/kama'aina. She gave me a discount. Total came out to about $245.00 or so and with discount it came out to about $210.00. I would highly recommend shopping here. read more

Extremely cute store and the workers are super friendly! I normally don't shop at boutiques simply bc I can never find anything in my size. I yelped this place and found something on their website for my little cousin as a Christmas gift. Surprisingly, there are a ton of little boutiques tucked away on Waikiki between the ABC stores and the high end stores. This store had so many cute accessories and clothes. Tons of chiffon and flowy material and stuff you can wear, beyond the beach. We all bought something when we went and it's reasonably priced for good quality, cute and trendy stuff. Found this place by chance when walking around Waikiki after a filling dinner at Roy's. The clothing here is super cute, trendy, AND inexpensive! Gotta love the 10% Kama'aina discount as well. The styles carried here are VERY similar to those of Cookie in Hawaii Kai, which is another one of my favorite boutiques. This is the cutest boutique. The girls were super nice that worked there and the clothes were super affordable. The tops are around $30 which is very reasonable for a boutique. The Jean shorts I bought were about $45 which is also very reasonable. They do sell out of stuff fast so if you're debating, I'd recommend putting it on hold so you don't miss out! I stumbled upon Mahina on my way to Kalakaua Ave. Glancing into the store, I knew I had to go in and make sure I walked away with a top, a dress...SOMETHING. The clothes are flirty, trendy, fun, and more importantly affordable! First time I visited this store was 2 years ago, on a little weekend vacation from Kauai. I instantly fell in love, and made a point to visit this shop every time I was on Oahu. Now I live here, and I always catch myself browsing when I have the time. And of course whenever I browse, I have to walk out with something. They have so many adorable dresses and cute shoes. Considering it's in Waikiki, it has moderate prices for chic clothing. I never feel ignored in this store. The employees have always been helpful and attentive! Mahina is a cute boutique on Lewers St, a couple stores down from Yardhouse in Waikiki. They have a pretty good rotation of new clothes and have quite a variety for such a small store. I think that a lot of their clothes come from Cali. The prices for the dresses range from $30-45 and the shirts are about $25-30. They also have a kamaaina rate 10% which is always a plus. They have a nice selection of accessories too, and earrings are only $14! Since they are located in Waikiki, they are also open pretty late. The ladies working are always very friendly and helpful. I discovered Mahina when I was on my trip to Lahaina. Then when I found out that they were opening a location in Waikiki I was really excited. Mahina has a great selection for clothes and accessories! Everything I brought here...I absolutely love love love!! The prices are very reasonable. The only thing is that it's in Waikiki and I hate the parking fees....and the walking. Usually I like to come here when I have a day off or when I know the traffic in Waikiki isn't so crazy. That means I try to come on a weekday to stay away from traffic. Another thing is that they run out of XS and S very quickly so you have to try come when they get in their new arrivals right away. I believe they get new arrivals in once every week? They offer 10% Kamaaina discount which is awesome! I brought a super cute dress for only $38 with the discount. The customer service here is good. The girls are respectful and help you with whatever you need. Cute boutique with a good array of flowy, beach-type casual wear. They also have some really pretty jewelry. Everything is priced great. Two pairs of pants for me and a pair of shorts and blouse for my daughter cost under $115 with the kamaaina discount. I really wanted to give this place a 5 star rating however a seam on the waistline of my daughter's shorts started to unravel after wearing it once. Love this little boutique! It was actually on my stay-cation that I discovered this place. For some reason I was under the impression that this store was on the pricier side but after walking in, it's decently priced for the quality. As I first walked past, I spotted a necklace on the display table that drew me in. Before I knew it, I was checking out with multiple necklaces, some rings, and a pair of stud earrings. Even the pricing on all the jewelry was extremely reasonable. It's nice finding accessories that are affordable and won't turn your finger or wrists green after a couple of uses. I didn't have much time to do real shopping since my boyfriend was we with me, but I'll definitely be back when I need to look for that next cute outfit. Awesome trendy, chic boutique in the middle of Waikiki. Clothes have an LA vibe and are very reasonably priced. 10%Kama'aina is a great deal too. Great place to pick up key pieces for outfits for a night out in town. It is in Waikiki though and although you can park in the Embassy suites, it's still not the most convenient place to get too.
