Poke Bowl - Medium
Kayla C.

good amount of food for the price. The salmon was good, scallop was fine. good texture I think it could be a little fresher but wasn't bad. shrimp was good. the other fish like tuna and yellow tail I think didn't look as nice as the salmon. I got the medium bowl. There is seating inside but I took it to go and ate at the park. two gals behind the counter and wasn't that busy. I put the order in on grub hub for pick up they made it fresh tho so I wait while they did that. I'd skip the chili oil. it is lao gan ma which I love but not in my poke.

Was visiting a friend during a layover in SFO and looking for a quick bite. Mahana store front was set up similar to a chipotle where you can select a pre made bowl or craft your own. Huge selection and bowl was crafted in less than 2 mins with generous portions. Great pricing for 3 proteins for poke bowl. Ingredients looked and taste fresh, good spot for a quick lunch.

Kinda like a Chipotle of poke bowls, where you can customize. Though I stuck with the default configurations to see how good their signatures were. Overall, it was quite mid. Ahi Tuna Bowl: The raw tuna is splashed with sauce to order, so it's just not the same as real poke marinating in all those flavors for hours. This was noticeable also because some chunks of tuna tasted a bit too fishy. There was a variety of veggies, kinda piled on top, instead of mixed into the tuna mixture. That's kind of annoying since I had to mix it myself. Also, there was way too much seaweed compared to the other veggies.

Walked in due to my daughter wanting Miso soup. She just had spacers out in for her braces and her teeth were sore. I ordered 2 Miso soup(3 stars) needed more flavor and then they had a pic of some chicken(4 stars) on the wall. I didn't even catch the name but we ordered it. Plus I got a small poke bowl that came with 2 scoops of protein. It ended up be a lot more than I expected. It was tasty and I would come back for it The place looks clean, open and organized.

Clean ambiance... love the surf board. Service was warm & helpful. Food was a joy... had the ""Rainbow Love" with Spicy Aioli added.... loved it. Quality of fish is give a 4, but the variety of additions and sauce combos put it over the top for me. Not the easiest location to reach (1 block off Fremont exit)... but worth every penny. Had a great late lunch...of simple & delicious. Could improve the rice... but still a hit for me. Thank you, Sharine

This morning I was craving poke and looking around Fidi, this is one of the top rated poke shops (albeit with just 9 reviews). From what I've read, they opened just this July so it's only been around for a couple months I went with the Rainbow Bowl, which comes with ahi tuna, spicy tuna, and salmon proteins. I also asked for the house chili sauce which someone else recommended. The portions were quite good and fish was fresh. My one critique would be that the sushi rice wasn't quite sushi rice, it was more like plain white rice. Another downside was that they didn't have a water dispenser and they didn't have cups for water

This place is awesome. The food is super fresh and super tasty. The prices are reasonable for the area. The portion sizes are generous. My only semi-complaint was the slower than expected service. There was only one person working the counter when my coworkers and I arrived and it took a little longer than I would have preferred to get my lunch. Overall, this place is fantastic and I can't wait to go back. If you like spicy foods, try the house chili sauce...it's delicious!

11/14/25 - It was pretty good for a quick dinner and you get so many toppings options! Will try it again next time too!

Chicken Teriyaki with brown rice.

Ordered through Doordash and took advantage of their buy-one-get-one-free chicken teriyaki bowl. I ordered two of them with brown rice base. I am not a fan of rice bowls but this one really hit the spot with the fresh ingredients and every bite being so flavorful. The packaging was neat so all my food arrived in one piece. I am so excited to try more items on the menu :)

Kani salad bowl

I walk by this street almost every day and just noticed a new poke place called Mahana. Walked in to check it out and turns out -- it's only their third day open! Tried a bowl and was really impressed. Super fresh ingredients, the portion was solid, and the service was quick and friendly. Prices are very reasonable too. Definitely happy I stopped by -- I'll be back for sure!

Vegan Salmon Bowl
Addison J.

Got the vegan salmon bowl with the house chili sauce and it's fantastic! It's hard to come by good vegan fish. Also glad they're open past 4 pm / open on weekends in rincon hill which is a rarity. Will be coming back

The poke is ok, but I ordered soup from here and they had the audacity to serve me canned soup (and charge me $9 for it).

My bf ended up sharing his order with me because I didn't enjoy my Cioppino ($42.) The seafood was bland, all tasting very much alike, & the broth didn't give off that complex spicy tang that my favorite cioppinos possess. My table started with an appetizer of Red Chili Garlic Shrimp ($18) -- from the description, we were expecting a dry, possibly sautéed preparation & were disappointed that the shrimp were sitting in a watery broth. Though I was letdown by my picks here, I know my group enjoyed theirs. We were treated very well by our waiter & by the host who gave us a beautiful window seat; we enjoyed the view of the sun setting over the bay. Not a restaurant I'd regularly return to, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it (with a few caveats, of course) to someone looking for a sit-down Pier 39 meal.

Anchor Oyster Bar will likely have a wait all day, most times of day. However, there are lots of shops to stop into nearby where you can still call your name if called.  The reason to stop in? Their cioppino. A hearty, tomato-based seafood stew chocked full of fresh bay seafood like mussels, clams, crab, shrimp, and white fish. It's served hot and with a side of garlic bread. Do yourself a favor and order an extra side or two of garlic bread to sop up all of that delicious soup. We also got the seafood platter to try a variety of oysters and their shrimp cocktail, which were all delicious. Steamed claims in garlic butter was an obvious order. No regrets. Highly recommended for a good, hearty, true San Francisco lunch.

Everybody, servers and cooks, were incredibly helpful and answered all my questions with a smile. I figured if I'm going to an oyster bar, I better try the oysters. I had six meaty, juicy oysters ($22.50) from three different regions. It was fun to compare them from each other. My girlfriend ordered the penne pasta with prawns topped with rich red sauce and melted cheese ($33). It was absolutely delicious and rivals many local Italian restaurants. I also ordered the crab burger and clam chowder ($36). The clam chowder was hot, creamy and not too salty. The burger came with a good amount of crab. It looked like imitation crab, but it wasn't, it was much bolder and heartier. I'd come back here whether for a date night or a solo evening slurping oysters at the bar. The food is pricey, but if you're into quality seafood options beyond fish, I'd definitely recommend it.

I had the opportunity to visit the this location yesterday (4.30.26). The restaurant was absolutely beautiful, the ambiance of the restaurant...unmatched. As a writer imagine my utter shock and dismay to be racially discriminated against by the Host of the Waterbar when myself and a colleague were told there were no outside seats only to watch four white men to be given the choice to be seated outside or inside, immediately following what we were told. While they had a party of four, there were only two of us. The ambience here was one of the most beautiful...but we were only privy to a glimpse of the luxury design as we we whisked off down a few steps to the back corner of the restaurant where no one was dining...as if we were escaping some war torn country and they had taken pity on us. While the Indian woman who I dined with voiced her disdain for the obvious difference in treatment she believed we should stay. I have to admit, I cannot tell you how exceptional Chef Mark Franz cuisine was...as it was memorably overshadowed by the bitter taste of racism. Unfortunately my palette is not accustomed to the savoury sting of disparate treatment. I'm not sure if Mr. Kuleto is aware that he has a middle aged white male with racist views representing his good name, but if not...it's about time he was made aware.
