This location downtown has very limited seating. You can see from the photos, it's basically a couple seats on the outside. Service is quick, but food wise. Let's be honest, their menu consist of basically two things: onigiri and poke bowls. Honestly, the poke is too expensive for what you get. There are other places downtown where you can find a much better and more affordable Poke bowl. If you still decide to go for it, don't fret, it's not bad, just mediocre. Onigiri wise, the thing they are named after... Although I'm not expecting Japanese level onigiri, it's a bit disappointing. It's not going to be the best onigiri you can find in town, and I have tried a few of their selection. Not very happy with them. Due to my love to onigiri I'm still willing to give it a third try and see if there's a major difference between the standard and deluxe ones. Cute little unique spot with many Japanese inspired style dishes -- bento and onigiri. We got the set of 3 that comes with the pickled radish (perfectly crunchy and tart enough!), edamame, tamagoyaki (bit too sweet for my liking though), chicken karaage (wasn't as crunchy as I wanted), and choice of 3 flavored onigiri . My favorite is the ponzu salmon poke! That one is so rich in flavor! We also got the hijiki braised seaweed-- that one was good but a little more dry compared to the salmon. I think the fish adds a different complementary texture. Lastly, we got the shiitake mushroom which is a good option too if you like mushrooms. My friends tried the purple potato fries--highly recommend! And as always, I also got a tempura shrimp onigiri. I just love the crunchy texture with a meaty shrimp and soft rice. I also added a side of kaarage chicken that was juicy. So this was a custom box set for around $16, and it was filling. I always think two is not enough, but then I remember the time I got 3 onigiri and was stuffed. Service was really quick after I ordered on their kiosk. This was after the lunch rush, so I was the only one there and it seems the online orders slowed down. Otherwise, I have been here during the lunch rush and it is packed! Something to think about if you want to get food here. There's no seating here, so orders are only for take out. Both had the right amount of sauce and 2 onigiris was perfect for lunch. I also like that you could remove things and get money back. My edamame was cold which I did see other reviews mention, but it wasn't the end of the world. After bringing it home and having a chance to take a bite I immediately set it down and said, 'cheap.' The Onigiri tasted incredibly cheap and having just had an amazing experience at Do-Re-Mi which had a similar pricing structure I didn't know what to say. The chicken tasted like chicken salad - as if a low cost chicken breast had been boiled, then cut apart, and then tossed in a low quality teriyaki sauce. Absolutely not for me. Two of these will fill you up pretty well but with so much variety, might as well get more to try different varieties.
