I have to give 5 stars to this establishment. Even on a busy morning, there were plenty of open booths and tables in the back and employees to manage the restaurant! I can't say enough about the unlimited French toast here. It's more pricey than other restaurants, but it sure is delicious! There were employees ready to clean up after you, get you a to-go box, and answer questions. I never felt rushed to leave, which helped my friend and I have a relaxing morning! My husband and I have loved this restaurant for years. We've gone there for at least 15 years. The food is always good. My favorite is the Halibut-I could eat this every week. I also like their homemade soups and salads. My husband always gets something with mashed or fried potatoes which are delicious. I'm just always watching calories! We haven't had a bad meal there yet. The employees are always friendly as well as efficient. It seems so many casual restaurants these days are run poorly and have only teenagers running the place. Magelby's Fresh always has management present and the service reflects that. We travel often and are always looking for restaurants that are good and are not chains. We would love to come upon a local restaurant just like this one. read more

BACON RATIONING SUCKS. This used to be a favorite breakfast place. USED TO BE. The last two times we have been here the cashier has refused to allow us to order sides of bacon, which is ridiculous! When asked why, she said they would run out.... huh?!?! This is a restaurant right? Isn't it first come first serve and isn't the goal to sell everything and make more every day? Alright. Where do I start? I have gone to Magleby's Fresh for years and have watched it's steady decline in flavor and quality. To be honest almost all of their desserts, French toast and pancakes are pretty darn awesome. But after the few winners, everything gets lost in a mediocre fog of tasteless cardboard and mush. I ordered a guacamole bacon burger and spinach and artichoke pesto pasta and the chicken bacon salad. Where do I start with the burger? Oh! The guacamole bacon burger was bacon less. I'm definitely not vegetarian, nor do I not eat kosher so what is the deal? Also who puts a burger on two pieces of stale sourdough and declares it tasteful? Okay, okay. They can make a couple mistakes like that but unfortunately it doesn't stop there. The burger was way over done and absolutely flavorless. The guacamole was nonexistent and the so called dressing was nowhere to be found. I am definitely not eating that again. But the buck doesn't stop there. The spinach artichoke pasta was swimming in a wet and watery sauce that was completely tasteless. I would be surprised if I found salt in the kitchen along with any other common seasonings. Last but definitely not least. The chicken bacon avocado salad. Soggy doesn't even begin to describe how awful the salad was. The chicken was once again over cooked and tough and the vegetables were mushy and flavorless. I am a chef myself and have learned that continuity in style, flavor and quality is just as important as the price and availability. Unfortunately Magleby's has lost its zest and zeal, leaving behind the crude remnants of forgotten recipes and attempts to the gourmet. I hope the chef will read this because I won't be going back anytime soon. Until then, Magleby's, I'll be watching for the brighter day when you finally break the mold and see the light! Magleby's is a great place to stop by for breakfast. Oh and just so you know they serve breakfast stuff all day. Some of their lunch and dinner items certainly can be hit or miss but I for the most part enjoy most everything. They have great breadsticks, amazing chocolate cake and their French toast, syrup and bacon is also delicious. If I could give them no star, I would. We went to eat there the evening of February 21, 2024 about 7:30 pm. There were a lot of people there. After getting our dinner, we looked for a table. Almost every table was full, but there were many that weren't, only there were piles of dirty dishes on them and food slopped all over them. The one table that was empty was in the middle of the south room (seating for 6). We sat there, but while eating all we could see were these empty disgusting tables (booths) all with dishes and food slopped everywhere. There was one guy who was bringing the meals out to the customers. It appeared that he was the one that was also supposed to clear & clean the tables, but as we watched, he never ever cleaned them. No one did. Those tables sat in that awful state the whole time we were there. We saw people come after us and look all over for a place to sit and finding no clean tables, they'd go to the other side. We even saw a couple sit at one table that hadn't been cleaned on our side because it was the only one they could find. Still, no one came to clean their table. The guy who seemed to be the one to clean tables would stop and talk to the girl running the cash register, then go back to the cooks and chat with them. There was a lot of wasted time by this guy and the others running the front. No one seemed to care at all about what the customers were dealing with. We felt like fish in a fish bowl sitting by ourselves at this big middle table that was meant for a group of 6+ or so, but it was the only clean table in the whole place that we found. The whole dinner was so uncomfortable sitting in the middle of this noisy room with dirty, filthy dishes and food filled tables in every view we had. We couldn't wait to get out of there. The staff who worked that night (except the cooks) should be talked to and watched so that they learn how they should do their jobs. They act very unprofessionally in that regard. Because of how our dinner went there, we will never go there again. And we used to love Magleby's. Sad. read more

I came in yesterday and I got the Chicken Marsala with a side of fruit. The Chicken Marsala was amazing! There are very few times when I go out to eat that the food couldn't have been better. The chicken was very warm and perfectly cooked and the bed of mashed potatoes was the best I have ever tasted!!! The Marsala Sauce is something to die for! It was definitely made fresh!!! The side of fruit contained pineapple, honeydew, cantaloupe, and grapes which usually aren't very good at other restaurants but here all the fruit was super fresh and sliced up the right size so I didn't have to cut it up smaller! But the best part was the customer service. The cashier was very knowledgeable and kindly explained that they were out of their battered fries which was okay because I wanted to try the fruit. I got a clean number and sat down. Less than 10 minutes later Alexander came out and delivered the Chicken Marsala to my table. He let me know that the Chicken Marsala comes with a delicious breadstick and that they were cooking more and that he would bring one out in a couple of minutes so I could get the freshest batch. Sure enough about a minute later, Alexander comes back with two breadsticks that are still hot out of the oven. He commented that he liked my Astros hat and we talked for a bit reliving the last world series. Alexander came back a few more times to make sure I was doing well and that I didn't need anything else. He grabbed me a to-go box and a lid for the side of fruit. All in all great restaurant, with amazing food, and excellent service by a very knowledgeable and professional staff. We decided to go here for dinner tonight and can I say.... WOW!!!! They are way BETTER then the Lindon store, like night and day! These group of guys need a raise! (No I didn't know anyone) but they greeted you with a smile, our food came out so yummy, fast and hot! The restaurant was clean and the employees were awesome and eager to help! With a traditional menu that stands the test of time, to delicious daily lunch and dinner specials, Magleby's is hard to beat. I have literally tried every single menu item - even the rotating specials. Some favorites for people that don't know what to order - the halibut plate is amazing. I also enjoy the doc's truck stop, which is like an open faced meat sandwich smothered in gravy. I used to never like salad much, but after I had the summer salad here I started to grow up and eat a lot of salad. Get the summer salad. Fresh crunchy cold leaves, paired with oranges, strawberries, a delicious dressing, candied nuts, and grapes that make for a sweet and savory kick in the mouth. Whatever you do, please do not neglect the desserts here. Magleby's makes incredible home made fresh desserts. The chocolate cake - which has literally won the award for best chocolate cake in utah, is as rich as it gets. Extremely moist, with a frosting that tops it all off. Also, I just had the strawberry shortcake a week ago and I was not disappointed. I typically don't eat too many desserts, but magleby's has changed me. Each meal is served with their famous rolls (which they sell separately as well) that never get old. Often I will order 2 or 3 extra on the side because they are that good. Plenty of seating, friendly staff, and you don't even have to clean up for yourself. HOW COULD I FORGET. The french toast. You MUST get the french toast at some point in your life. Breakfast is served all day at Maglebys' now, so you have no excuse but to try it. I can never finish more than one full plate (even when I order all you can eat), but it is soooooo good. Their home made syrup is something that is out of this world. Be careful of going on a saturday morning thought, it is super crowded. There's a reason Magleby's is an institution in Utah Valley. They're pretty good at what they do. I appreciate this location for a quick lunch or to-go food. The upscale ambience that they create with their other locations isn't quite as present here, but the food is the same: uniquely Magleby's and oh-so-tasty! The menu highlights for me are: - the garlic-cheese rolls (these really put Magleby's on the map) - the halibut (I eat this almost nowhere else - they know halibut) AND, the main reason I love Magleby's: - the buttermilk pie! BUTTERMILK PIE, people! Okay, so you're saying to yourself, "What? Buttermilk pie? That sounds ... nasty." I happen to be a big fan of buttermilk (sue me, I was raised on a farm), which is why I tried it in the first place. Trust me when I tell you that you cannot detect the buttermilk in this pie. It's extraordinarily moist (sorry for using that word, but it's true) with a succulent cake-like texture, and fruit toppings that they change up depending on the day. My favorite is peach. To me, it's like a fantasy blue-ribbon peach cobbler at a State Fair, but better. I am much more of a savory lover than sweet, but this pie has stolen my heart. And my stomach. And probably at least two or three other organs. The ingredients are generally fresh and well thought out. I appreciate their somewhat small menu, relative to their full restaurants. It's a few of their best-sellers, and it works. Yes, of course it will cost you more than fast food. If it didn't, I would seriously wonder about them. But it still doesn't break the bank. It's almost as if they want repeat customers or something... There is really only counter service here, so there's not as much opportunity for interaction. But the faces of Magleby's are typically friendly, making you feel that they're glad you're there. The location is a bit out of the way, even for Provoans, but it's well worth the short drive to sample Magleby's fare. read more

I use to come to this restaurant a lot when I was younger and I've brought my wife over the last little bit. However, today was just not very well. The food is good and the ambiance, but the thing that got me was the cashier. A couple strolled up and instantly started a long conversation with the cashier! My wife and I sat there listening to the entire conversation wondering, "Ok, time to move on, there's other people in line." If you want to talk to someone that you haven't seen in awhile ask to speak with them in a little bit when you don't have a line of customers! Long wait time, overcooked penne, watery pasta, forgot dressing and pecans on salad, Summer Salad needs a sweet berry dressing not white balsamic dressing and also needs spinach, very few options, expensive, they didn't call my name when my food was done or I couldn't hear with their masks on so finally I checked and my chicken was not very hot. This place is always very clean and the staff is very friendly. We love going their for the all-you-can-eat breakfast (served on the weekends). They are famous for their buttermilk syrup and chocolate cake (not together, of course). Unfortunately, the last two times I have been, I have had an unpleasant experience with my food. The first time, I ordered their Fish & Chips. The fish was undercooked and the fries were cold. When we spoke to the staff, they said they would fix it for us. The manager came out and spoke to us, he said he was having problems with his fryer & our food would be out soon. This time I ordered their California Turkey sandwich & fries. Again, the fries were cold and the turkey had a lot of fat on it. The sandwich was dry (no condiments). I have learned my lesson, don't order the fries & stick with the breakfast items! read more

I called Magleby's and explained our dire situation and they accommodated us perfectly. The food was delivered on time and was delicious! I was frantic as I was trying to plan for this venue change and food in less than 24 hours for a work group of 25. Magleby's literally saved our party. Good solid food for breakfast. I had the omelet and my wife had the burrito. Saw the bottomless waffles-interesting but did not see anyone order them. Flavor was great for both. The piece of candied bacon was so sweet, I gave 1/2 of mine to my wife-I am diabetic. Got really crowded right after we sat down. Coffee was ok. Service was good, but again we beat the crowd in.
