Signature The Magic Noodle
Shigei H.

A bowl of hot tasty noodle is really comfort food for this gloomy weather, and I have always been a noodle fan! Magic Noodle is really magical! We ordered their signature The Magic Noodle, Savoury Wonton Noodle, Dan Dan Noodle and Beijing Chicken Scroll, they were all so delicious. You can choose among different variety of noodles to suit your palette, thin noodle, medium thin, broad noodles and so on, they are just like hand-pulled noodles and al dente in texture, it's fresh, chewy and delicious. The Northern-China-styled soup broth is hot, savoury and rich in taste and should have been prepared with many different herbs. Each bowl of noodle is generous in portion with different toppings, it's really heart warming. The chicken scroll was prepared with a crispy pancake wrap, it's also very tasty. If you're thinking about having noodles, this is your place.

This location is my least favourite out of all of them, staff wise. They're nice but every-time I visit, the waiters I encounter all seem to be very amateur. But I still like their food in general. My go to order is the pot belly sliced noodles, I ALWAYS order an extra bowl of lamb soup as it cuts the dryness and adds extra flavour, the best combo. This location is the only one that tried to charge me for the extra soup. I also always get the nom nom chicken (sold out this visit) and tater slaw. We also tried the fried intestines, they look dry but actually quite juicy and flavourful.

I tried the one in Scarborough so I thought why not this one, we tried the magic noodle with lamb beef and chicken and egg, it's exciting to see they're making fresh noodle right in front your eyes but I had so much hand pulled noodle and to be honest this tasted average, the broth was okay, I put some chilli sauce for more flavour, what's good it's not too filling cuz at the end it's soup, would I come here again most likely not, after having gb hand pulled noodles my expectations are set really high for hand pulled noodles but overall it's okay but I can't eat this anymore

I would start by saying, the delivery vs the take out seem to be a bit different in terms of quality and quantity. Don't know why. But I usually had been dining in anyway (pre-Covid). My friends and I like to stop by here for a really quick dinner because it's convenient, good pricing for a bowl of noodles, and good flavours. It's simple. I go for the skinny cow app and the magic noodles in soup which I believe is just beef brisket and noodles. I've heard different reviews but each time I've been in, the soup has been just fine. I'm rather sensitive to salt, but my soups always tasted great. There's a bold beefy flavour, but I'm not over whelmed by salt or anything. I like the side dishes. I think they could be a touch more creative or flavourful. There's just always something missing a bit. Some acidity would be nice for sure. Service is normal and seating is pretty well abundant each time we've been through.

Skinny cow - almost like British jellied beef.

Its ok. We ordered two side dishes (skinny cow+shredded taofu - pi taofu), a lamb soup and Beijing Bang (Jajangmyeon). The side dishes arrived but something went awry with our soup/noodle order which was delayed. Weird since the restaurant wasn't extremely busy. Also: irritating music verging on loud. Staff were very polite and repeatedly apologized about the delay. Food did not have much soul. Borderline bland. Needed revving up in the flavour department and the mutton soup was very fatty.

Went to Magic Noodle at their Markham road location and as well as their Midland location during their anniversary promotion. It's comfort food, but salty and a lot of MSG!

Seafood friar

Ordered Magic Noodle off of Ubereats and was very disappointed. Ordered the "seafood friar" for like $17 bucks and it promised of shrimp and scallops. There was only 3 tiny scallops in the entire bowl. Really disappointing. Ordered the popcorn chicken for like $8 bucks and there were SO small and so little portion... I couldn't believe the little value. It doesn't come with any dipping sauces for the chicken either. I also checked off "utensils please" on my app and the order came with a receipt with "NO UTENSILS" In big font on my bill. Smh...My entire meal came to $30 and for that little food, I'm absolutely disappointed. Will likely not order delivery from here again.

A new welcome addition to this plaza is a solid noodle chain. I've mainly been to the Scarborough one in past and think the concept is a little different here when ordering. Rather than being seated immediately, you order first when you enter and are provided a number. Once you've completed the your transaction, you'll seat yourself. It's pretty much self-serve here where you need to get the water, spoon and sauces yourself. The noodles are the only thing brought to your table. Menu wise it also seems highly condensed from the other locations which might keep things simpler. Prices ranged from $10-15 for noodle soup or stir fried noodles. There are still the variety of noodle cuts you can get and I was able to get the thick curtain style noodle. I think overall my experience was a 3.5 but I'll round up. The staff are still new so you'll have to bear with them as they learn.

Food is ok. Restaurant is spacious and clean. I like how they close late so you can go and eat even at midnight. Service was good as well.

Tiny beef rolls. Tasty tho.

Restaurant: upon first impression, it's clean & bright. You order right when you walk in and seating is at the back, which makes take out easier. Ordered the beef rolls, chicken wings and seafood noodles. Beef rolls: Tasty, but tiny. I've ordered these from other Shanghai dim sum places and they are much bigger for the same price ($7) So if I'm craving these, or planning on sharing these (lol) I'll go elsewhere. Garlic Wings: Good. Crispy. Not too oily. Good flavor. You get 5 per order. I don't mind my chicken wings small or avg size. Those big ones make me think they're pumped with fillers. Noodles: uneventful. Nothing special. Dry. I think it could be better if it were saucier? Overall ok. Good addition to the plaza. Will return to try the soup. I mean that's what they're known for right?

Came here for lunch as it had l newly-opened in Markham. I ordered the BBQ Buddies with classic noodle and magic scrolls, which were thinly sliced marinated beef in a thin pancake. The barbecue buddy consisted of BBQ pork and duck in a broth that included cilantro and bok choy. The flavor of the broth was clean. Bbq pork and duck was quite fresh. The only downside was that the broth was not as piping hot as I would like it to be. Magic scrolls were quite disappointing. Thin pancake with beef and lettuce inside. What happened to the scallions, as classic noodle houses sell it with? Definitely not worth the money. Quite meager and small. Overall it was an okay experience. Fresh noodles and meats were the upside. New restaurant and modern look. Self serve options for extra bowls, spoons and chopsticks. I would deduct 1 star because I wanted to order the spicy silk, but they told me they didn't have it. Quite disappointed. As a restaurant you should have all items listed on the menu.

Always liked Magic Noodle. Never tried this location. The noodle and soup was just as good as other locations. The goat skewers here were supersized. Hope its a regular think and not just one time luck. Service was great.

Magic Beef Noodles were so good, I finished it before I could take a picture. They also served freshly squeezed lemon in their water.

Had another really great time here. This time I tried their The Magic noodles (the one with the egg, beef slices, beef brisket, tripe and chicken) for $12.99. For the price and the amount of food you get, I was pretty full and satisfied. I like to add a bit of the hot chili oil they provide as condiments at the table. Also had the popcorn chicken; it was good but needed to come with more dipping sauce.

Today was Tuesday, so we were good to go. The promo was $25 including 1 bowl of noodle, 1 bowl of clay pot rice with meat and 1 of snack dishes. We could choose them from the special menu. We chose the beef noodle soup, chicken & mushroom clay pot with soup, and the snack was the deep fried wonton. The wonton was great, so delicious and my little one loved it so much; the beef noodle soup was ok, but only a few pieces of beef and radish; the clay pot was the most I like, when I put the soy sauce in, the pot was boiling. That's so nice. That also caused the crackers at the bottom. That's really amazing. We also got a little bowl of the seaweed soup for the clay pot. So nice. This special deal was so good that enough for all of us. Next time, I would like to try other options.

The Lanzhou noodles had a great chewy texture and tasted super fresh. The claypot rice was warm, savory, and had that nice crispy bottom layer which made it extra satisfying. Portions are generous and the flavors feel very authentic and comforting -- like a home-cooked meal. It's a great budget-friendly option in Markham, especially if you're dining with a friend or partner. Definitely a hidden gem for cheap eats. Would recommend if you're craving noodles and claypot rice without spending too much!

The service was pretty good, lots of staff, they were all fast and friendly. I got the hot and sour (one spice level) and the soup had the perfect fish and sourness. The spiciness was very mild. It had a good amount of fish, silky tofu and vegetables. I also love their rice noodle! My partner got the hot and sour (two spice level) and I don't know what happened.... It tasted so bad. Would thought it would be a spicier version of mine but his soup lacked fish flavour, sourness, spiciness - it was so bland. I would definitely be back and re-order what I got today. I also tried the original fish soup noodle and that one was good too. I would avoid the hot and sour (two spice level) at all cost...

It had an ancient Chinese theme and the seating was very comfortable with these really long tables. The service was quite standard and typical. Nothing amazing. We ordered a few dishes including the Shrimp Rice Roll, Beef ho fun, Grouper tofu pot, Braised Pork Hock and their Minced Beef Egg Clay pot rice. The Shrimp rice roll was quite soft but the pieces of shrimp were quite small and it was just a bit too bland for me. The Beef Ho fun was so good. I can tell the rice noodles they used were high quality. It had a bit of a chew to it rather than it being soggy and soft. The Wok Hei was great as well and they gave us plenty of beef slices. The Tofu Grouper pot was so delicious. They used high quality fish and the portion sizes were quite good for 18$. The pork hock was also really good. It was only 8.99$. The flavor was so delicious and the pork hock itself had a "bouncy"/QQ texture. It was great. The only dish we absolutely HATED and DO NOT recommend was the Clay Pot Rice. I had a really good clay pot rice at a different restaurant 2 weeks ago so I decided to order one here as well. It was so bad. The rice was not cooked properly. The meat to rice ratio was like 1 to 10 There wasn't even any crispy rice at the bottom. and the meat itself was not tender. It was dry and rough. No wonder why I can't find any reviews of their clay pot rice online. Probably because nobody orders it. Other than the Clay Pot rice and shrimp rice roll everything else was really good so I definitely would come back again.
