I was paired with a different nail technician, and the quality of service was noticeably different. She asked if I wanted my toenails trimmed, and I said yes, but she only trimmed my big toenails and left the rest untouched. The polish application was also very poorly done. It was uneven and looked rushed--the worst polish job I've ever received during a pedicure. I considered mentioning it, but her two children arrived during my appointment, and I got the impression she may have been distracted or trying to finish quickly. Based on my second experience, I don't plan to return. It's unfortunate because my first visit set such high expectations. I hope the salon can provide more consistent service in the future.

Later, I realized the creator worked nearby and appeared to know the owner--he even stopped in during my appointment to ask to borrow staples. That made me question how unbiased the recommendation really was. This salon has a lot of potential, but the customer service fell short. I was the only customer there, yet I still felt overlooked and uncomfortable. Between the paid parking, the price of the service, and the overall experience, I don't feel it was worth the cost.

Yay for men in Reno realizing that it's OK to get a pedicure! Now if only my husband would do it..... I read the yelp reviews and decided to give this place a try and I saw several men in there who were getting pedicures with their wives! Good job boys. The $25 pedicure deal is Mon-Thurs, and it's a great idea for feet in any state of disrepair. My feet just required a general sanding of the heels and other rough areas, but the lady next to me was getting her feet worked on with a dremmel tool! So they can do it all at Magic Nails - feet that really need to be worked on, or feet that get regular pedis. Magic Nails is clean and organized. They have those AMAZING massage chairs with the foot bath thingy that vibrates too. I dunno why, but out of the luxury spas I've been to, this is the first place that actually used a foot bath, and certainly the first that had even a comfy chair to sit in (let alone a massaging one). And I usually go to the spa at every hotel I stay in. So seems to me like this place is far more comfortable and FAR cheaper than the spas I've been to. The environment is not like a spa (no dim lighting, no spa music, etc.), but that's about it - that's why it's called a salon! They have men and women doing nails, and they are quite good at it. They have all the necessary tools and you can see them washing everything once they finish up with you. They have about 6-8 pedicure stations and you can watch a large TV (on the game show network when I was there) or there are lots of magazines to choose from too. The staff does engage in slight conversation, but not too much - which is GREAT, because I'm there to relax not chat! They do a great lower leg and foot massage before they paint your nails. Feels soooooooooooo good - and they don't skimp, my guy went back and forth from leg to leg several times, and used enough pressure for me. He painted my nails perfectly and they have a large color selection to choose from. When you are done they have the drying station to sit at with magazines. They also advertise waxing - brow, face, and more... And of course they do manicures. But I'm not into that stuff. My pedi was done in about 45 mins and they have very convenient hours for people who have a traditional work schedule. They don't require appointments, but I called in real quick to ensure I'd have a spot, set my appointment for a half hour later and drove on over. I think it's a good idea, just in case they are busy. read more

I went to magic nails for the first time yesterday, I had just got off work, about 6:30pm I arrive. I was expecting them to turn me away because they closed at 7pm. But they took me in. I just wanted a gel mani and pedi. I sat in the chair. Put my feet in the bowl. The water was cold. It was the most uncomfortable experience because the had one lady doing my mani and the other doing my pedi at the same time. The lady doing my mani cut my cuticle back on each hand so far that I started to bleed. All she said was oh I'm sorry. She attempted to clean the blood with alcohol and it burned so badly! Except she wasn't cleaning the blood it was still on the cracks of my finger nails. She brushed gel polish onto the nails and the blood. As if it was all good. I can't help but wonder how many people they have done that too mixing other blood into their product. She filed my nails with a used nail file she had previously used on someone else! Disturbed by it all I still sat there as there was a lady doing my feet. She scrubbed but not good enough. I am a stylist on my feet all day all week. My feet need more attention than the mediocre service provided I'm even willing to pay more. The bottoms of my feet are itching badly today I see no sign of infection but I've never felt this way after a pedi! The owner came up asking for payment during my service as if I wasn't good for the money! So I paid! After the service the lady grabbed my open purse shoving my keys wallet and phones inside. She shoved it into my hands to hurry my out the door. All this is to say the should have just told me no we can't take you instead of providing the worst service I have ever experienced. I don't know how people could rush what should be a pampering experience. This was my first and last time there! read more

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. They started doing my nails and halfway through, they kicked me out of my chair for someone who had an appointment. Meanwhile, they had been doing my five year old's pedicure, so she was done long before me. Terrible service. Who does that? They should've just said they didn't have time to do mine. " lady is telling nothing but a FAKE story. she was NOT sober when she came in to get her nails done and we refused to do her nails because she wasn't sober. she calls the shop about 20 times a day with a blocked number and she does nothing but laugh on the phone. so do not take FALSE information from someone who NEVER got their nails done here. read more

She overcut several of my nails and buffed and filed without paying attention, which left my toes irritated. My nails are uneven, the polish is messy, and she ignored my request for a square shape. She kept piling on lotion without wiping it off, didn't exfoliate properly, and barely rinsed my feet. I had to ask her twice to stop and wipe off the lotion with a towel. Then she charged me an extra $5 for a broken nail. She's older with glasses and short hair. She was rude. I'm leaving for vacation tomorrow, and I'm honestly embarrassed to wear open-toed shoes. Definitely not going back.

I sat there until 4:10 PM I feel like I was getting kind of frustrated so I went to sit outside in my car for a minute to cool off so I didn't say anything to her. When I came back in she was getting that same gal a pedicure. I don't think it's OK to lie and set up an appointment and expect somebody wait 40 minutes. I think it's important to communicate and that's just not what happened.
