They use a grater on bottom of feet and no bags for the spa which could lead to a foot fungus if not cleaned properly. Wasn't relaxing at all. Very disappointed in every aspect. My sister had previously been here and she had liked it and told me pricing was very reasonable here. So I decided I wanted to get my nails done and remembered this place, I came in at around 5:30 pm and there was no one waiting so I was attended to fairly quickly. I had called in before coming in to ask for pricing, I was told acrylic set was $28. I was like wow that's amazing okay! I usually go for a squoval short simple nail, but I decided I wanted to try a round nail. Not almond shape. I tried to make that clear but I don't really think the lady understood me. I even showed her a picture. Well that was pointless. Not only did she still give them an almond shape, the shaping was HORRIBLE! Like extremely uneven and some nails aren't even the size of my real nails! She filed the crap out of the sides of my real nail to try and match her mistake. I am very upset at this point. **also they have a no refund policy so either way i had to pay. Anyways I choose my color and she finishes the job. I go to the counter to pay and it comes out to be $43. I'm like what?? Apparently at some point she decided to put gelish, literally just a clear coat of it on top of the nail polish and that was $15 extra. I was never actually asked if I wanted it though! I give them the money and leave. I will not be returning to this place, like ever. Not only was it pretty messy, but they also left the door open while they smoked and all of the smell traveled in. The first time I came here was on a whim and I was desperate for a nail salon and was overall satisfied with the results by nail tech Lee. She was my go to gal. 6 months later I stopped by out of the blue with out an appointment oh and btw appointments are useless here, even with and appointment service is guaranteed 30min later... anyways I arrived and Lee was not available so another woman helped me, ( come to find out she was the wife of the owner). She did a horrible job!! I had gaps on the side of my nails and as soon as I walked out I noticed they started lifting! I called them and they told me to come in so they can fix it. I drove myself back and they "fixed it." The next day one of my other nails chipped! I was beyond irritated I showed up and one again they did a sorry ass job. I was so sick of looking at my hideous nails that I ended up removing them by the 3rd day! And let me tell you when I removed them they literally peeled off with out a budge (3 day nails are not supposed to do that!). I'm going on vacation next week so I figured I'd make an appointment with my girl Lee to have her do my nails. I made and appointment with- a pedi for me and a mani for my sister. I arrive and again I wait for 25 min even though I made and appointment. While I was getting my pedi done she tried pawning my sister off to another nail tech. I said absolutely not I had a horrible experience last time I was here with a different nail tech so I wasn't going to risk it. I was firm and told them this info and also told Lee that I had made an appointment for both of us with her. She gave me attitude as she continued on with my pedi. I'm over this place they constantly speaking in their foreign tongue all across the salon - probably talking smack about the clients. The service is below mediocre and they are always super slammed not to mention half of the nail technicians do a sub par job. Stay away if at all possible. read more

Not happy with their work. My pedicure was done with my nails being left uneven. When asked to even they said they couldn't. They also use a drill to remove the old polish. I'm not a fan of that. That's my personal preference. Several times pain was caused that I wasn't relaxing. That person was replaced by someone else and she apologized. I won't be back. read more

I was in town for orientation and had dropped by with friends before leaving to receive a manicure. Two out of the three of us received poor service. The lady who worked on my nails yanked a cuticle out of my finger causing it to bleed like crazy. She did not apologize. My friend, however, received a more poor experience. The male working on her nails became aggravated at her for having acrylics and yelled at her for "being tense and rushing him" when no one said anything about hurrying. I never thought I would be writing any kind of review. But what happened to me should never happen to anyone. I went in for a pedi on 12/24. The technician removed my ingrown toenails on both big toes. In the process of her doing this, my right toe wouldn't stop bleeding. It was very painful as she was doing this. She took a piece of cotton soaked in acetone, wrapped it around one of her tools many times to try and stop the bleeding. After 4 days of soaking my feet, first in epsom salts, then hydrogen peroxide and applying neosporin, both toes were infected, swollen and very painful. I went to urgent care on the 29th and was given a tetanus shot and antibiotics. I don't believe they sterilize their tools after each client. I will never return to this salon. read more

I would much rather be told you are too busy for walk in appointments than sit here and wait when I could have gone somewhere else. The atmosphere in this place feels friendly and welcoming from the minute you walk in! Had an appointment for 2 and got seated right away. They have an amazing selection of colors and the people are nice. Fast and great service, they don't miss a detail! Very good with nail shape and making sure it looks just the way you want it. A JOKE. My mom went in to an appointment with Diane, who scheduled her in for 3:35. She showed up at 2:20 and was going to check in and Diane shouted at her from the seat that she was early and made a big scandal in front of customers. Everytime we schedule an appointment with her for a scheduled time she ALWAYS has us wait more than 30 minutes to be helped. If she's busy, she will rush her work just to get another client in. Unfortunate... I paid for myself and a friend to get pedicures about a month ago. I was just considering coming back to try again based on reviews, but now I've thought better of it. First off, they were very friendly. No issue there. My lady was not very talkative, but I thought was doing ok. Until she gouged into my big toe and made it bleed!!! Sheesh. I usually forgive easily, which is why I was going to give them a second chance. But after letting my toe nails dry... For a Looooooong time, I stuck my shoes on. When I took them off, three of my toes had lost half their paint. It literally just chipped right off. She had only put two coats of red and one clear coat on top. :/ They got two stars for niceness... Otherwise... Maybe pick a different place. read more

The foot soak was cold, the tech didn't trim nails evenly, didn't remove cuticles, didn't remove any callouses or rough spots, and the polish job was horrible. Worst customer service. They put me in a chair and my feet soaked for an hour. If you don't mind long waits and appointments not being honored, this is the place for you. I LOVE this place! You get an A+ pedi without all the fancy schmancy spa pretentiousness. Believe me I do like all the fancy stuff too but for your normal "need to make me toes pretty" kinda thing this place rocks! The staff is really friendly and accomodating. They take walk-ins or you can make an appointment. I have been several times now and done it both ways without a hitch. They also let us bring in a bottle of champagne to celebrate a friends birthday! The pedi's tend to run about an hour and they are wonderful! You sit in this great massage chair while they go to town on your feet. They massage, hot wrap and shine up your feet until they are soft and relaxed. They do a great French Manicure too, my fav! Their prices are sooo reasonable too. Between $28-$30 for a pedi. Thanh is my favorite lady! She is absolutely wonderful.... I highly recommend them to anyone and will continue to go and pamper my toesies! read more

I'm not the type of person to complain about things such as bad manicures or horrible personal treatment for that matter, but I felt so compelled with my horrible experience to sign up with yelp and write this review! The pedicure was short and not very good and my lady made me feel like I was putting her out by being there! Then my french manicure on my natural long nails started coming off the very next day! When I made it in there to see if they could re-do it, they flat out told me it wouldn't stay and that I had to have a color. One passing remark from my boyfriend about sucking my toes and the very next morning I was furiously perusing yelp! for a Cinderella pedicure that would miraculously transform my peasant-dirty-hippie-feet into soft, touchable princess tootsies. Reading Lisa R.'s review (complete with detailed account of sloughed skin volume), I was instantly sold. I called and booked an appointment for the following afternoon. Now, the last professional pedicure I had was on mother's day of 2006 (no joke) and was some sort of highfalutin ice cream themed monstrosity offered by the spa at The Venetian and charged at a rate tantamount to the cute baby toes of your first born. Allowing for the fact that the $25 (!) pedicure did not include freshly made ice cream, the service and results I received at Magic Nails were far superior to those of a supposed luxury spa. Method of measure and personal satisfaction rating (scale 1-5) in order of their respective significance to me: Callouses softened/removed: 4 Cuticles softened/trimmed: 5 Indestructible polish: 4 (The polish sort of moved on one of my toes, but to be fair, that's probably my fault because she went above and beyond to ensure that I didn't screw up her impeccable paint job by putting my sandals back on my feet before even applying polish, allowing time to dry between coats, making me sit with my toes under one of those magic purple lights, and even spraying them with some sort of polish setting/drying stuff before I left. Several days later, despite the fact that I don't really wear shoes in the traditional sense, the polish is not chipped, nicked, scratched, or otherwise degraded.) Painless/tickle free: 5 (!!!) Cost: 5 (The $25 for a pedicure, $38 for mani/pedi price is apparently only good Monday through Thursday. I don't know what the weekend rate is.) feet exfoliated: 1 (Service not included) feet/legs massaged: 3 (Though she spent a solid 20 minutes rubbing my legs and feet, she used very little pressure. Really, I'd rather skip it and have the 20 minutes back anyway. If a massage is what you're looking for, then go get a massage. I wanted my feet to look pretty, so I really couldn't care less about her massage technique. Still, I was impressed with the amount of time she allotted for that since it usually seems to fall by the wayside.) Other notes: -Decent polish selection, including lots of OPI. -Massage chairs are just massage chairs and are noteworthy only because they double as recliners. -During my appointment, the television was tuned to The Game Show Network. -They're located right next to Savemart on Keystone and 5th. Still no toe sucking, but at least I'm not a retard walking around in peep toes with no nail polish anymore. read more

First my daughter had an appointment for 5:30pm and didn't get seen until 7:00pm. They cut her with a tool that we found out they reuse & don't sanitize. Then we were originally told it would cost $30 for the style she wanted but after they didn't even do the right style they tried to charge her $50 and had to argue with them. This is a no frills place but their $28 spa pedicure is very nice with a very relaxing leg and foot massage. My pedicures last for a month and I'm sort of a klutz so that's saying something. I ended up at Magic Nails because me and a friend couldn't get an appointment anywhere else in the downtown area the same day and the prices they quoted seemed high even if they were for "spa pedicures." We didn't want to wait. Magic Nails took us both in right away and gave us great pedicures. I've been going ever since--its a great neighborhood nail salon. If you want a great pedicure for a good price, go to Magic Nails. If you want a spa atmosphere don't go here. It's not a spa, it's a nail salon. read more

This place is a scam! I went in asking for gel nails - a full set. They gave me acrylic nails and then put on gel polish. A bit of education: gel nails are applied with a premixed GEL; the powder and liquid combo make ACRYLIC. A full set of gels is more expensive than a full set of acrylics ($35 vs $25 according to what they advertise). I was ripped off and I'm sure many of you are, too. You're paying more money for bad quality and fraud. Then the guy charged me $38 when the sign says $35 for a full set. I wonder how many other people they scam/rip off for that extra charge AND not actually ever doing real gel nails. I will be reporting this business. read more
