The guy with the glasses is a rude jerk!! I was getting my nails done by another guy. I nicely asked him if he could do the design on my nails a certain way. He kept trying to tell me that it wouldn't look good on my nails. But I really didn't like how he did the first nail. The guy with the glasses was working on someone next to me. He kept looking over at us as we were going back and forth. Mind you, I was being very polite to my nail tech. I look at the glasses guy and asked him if he knows what I was trying to explain to my nail tech. He raised his voice and said "yeah but you're not listening to him!" I asked him "what?" As in why TF are you getting loud and upset?? He didn't say anything back to me and starting saying sh*t in Korean or Vietnamese. I almost walked out after that. But I couldn't do that to the guy who was doing my nails because he was nice. So I cooled myself down. it's so weird when nail techs get upset at what YOU, the paying customer, want your nails to look like. But anyways, the guy who did my nails was nice enough to do the design how I wanted it done. But the glasses guy really ruined my experience there. NEVER going back to that dirty, rude place. Me and my friend came in to get our toes done. The 35 dollar ones and they automatically pulled out the gel which they told us was 10 extra dollars when we asked. I just didn't appreciate them trying to make me spend more money without asking. The 35 dollar pedicure comes with a foot massage, leg massage and I didn't revive that. When I mentioned it to someone else he heard and laughed and said yes he did. I left it alone and left with nail polish on my feet. Overall not a good experience. read more

If I could give this salon no stars or negative stars I would. I have gone to this location before and gotten mediocre services, which in exchange for the low price and walk in ability has always balanced out. Yesterday, I took myself and my 11 year old daughter here to treat her to her first set of nails. I was getting a full set and a pedicure, the first issue was they started her nails and my pedicure meaning we wouldn't even get to sit next to each other. After a tepid foot bath, not nearly enough attention to detail, and a sloppy polish job I was moved to a nail station with the same male tech to get a basic short acrylic set. Thats when the female tech who was working on my daughter showed me what she had done so far. I told her initially her nails should be short, square, and a maximum of 3 colors. What she had done was the worst mess I've ever seen. They were thick, uneven, bumpy, and incredibly long. She then informed me she would be charging $70 for this wreck. I in turn informed her that I would not pay that price for her blatant disregard of my instructions and shoddy work. She spent the next 30 minutes yelling at me, cursing in Vietnamese (yes I understand the language very well) and ultimately left my daughter with half done nails and went to go do a pedicure! Thankfully Shianna (sp?) stepped up and finished my daughters nails and did beautiful work. She is far too talented to work at this salon, but I'm so thankful she was there to save my daughters first experience and give her a beautiful artistic set. My nails on the other hand are absolutely horrible. The man who did them was either incredibly incompetent and unlicensed, or took an opportunity to be petty for his coworker. At the end of the day, this horrid experience cost me $180 and will cost me more as I have to now pay to have mine removed and redone by a different salon. read more

Came here on Thursday for a pedicure and wanted French tips. No real complaints other than my French tips are horrible. The white part is not evenly painted and the lines aren't "clean". If you look closely at the French tips it has a lot of dots around the area. It's probably because the technician did not use the brush and acetone correctly. Very disappointed. It starting chipping less than a day later. If I'm in the area and come back, I have to make sure to not get French tips. read more

I knew coming in that my expectations shouldn't be too high, and unfortunately I was proven correct. The floors are filthy, the nail polish bottle display is sloppy, but the prices are cheap. I figured I'd just go ahead since I was already there. I do have to give them credit for being efficient. I don't think I've ever gotten a full pedi and gel mani that fast - I was in and out in one hour. My nail polish came out mostly okay (with a little bump here and there). My pedi on the other hand was a bit of a nightmare. First they didn't have the color I wanted, then they had to thin out the color I finally picked which ended up looking horrible. On the third try the technician seemed to hold it against me because the polish on my toes is very sloppy. Two days later my big toe is hurting on the side from some cuticle she pulled off. One of my BIGGEST pet peeves, is nail salons selling Acrylic nails as Gels and charging more. Unfortunately this is the case at Magic Nails. They have a distinction between "Acrylic" and "Gel" on their service menu, where Gel nails are clearly more money than acrylic. HOWEVER, THIS IS A SCAM! They're selling ACRYLIC nails with gel overlay polish, passing them off as gel nails and charging more. For polish. You think you're getting gel. You're not. You're getting acrylic. So how can you tell the difference? In a real full set of gel nails, not even one little bit of powder is used. Any powder at all is acrylic powder. Gel nails are "shaped" completely from liquid gel and have to be put under a light in between each application to keep the gel from running. Zero powder used. Next time you come into a shop like this one...and you ask for gel nails and they pull out acrylic powder... you already know they are scamming you. That said...their acrylic work isn't bad. It's just wrongfully labeled as gel and sold for more to scam those who don't actually know the difference. read more

I desperately needed to have my nails done and need to find a permanent nail person so I went to Magic Nails because it's easy to get in with out a long wait. I do not usually write a review after the first service and I'm glad I waited this time. My first time I had a nice young woman who did a nice job giving me a mani with gel polish and only charged 25 dollars. Three weeks it lasted! I was impressed with her work so I went back. This time a young man assisted me and he did not do as much as the girl did. He answered the phone constantly while working on my nails, he was a little rough with the sanding off the old polish. When he finished he charged me 20.00 for just a nail color change. After I left and got in the parking lot I notice on 2 of my fingers he had gotten polish on my skin that I had to scrape off since it is gel polish. On day 3 of the color change one of my nails had a chip in it then on day 4 another finger chipped again and the polish is looking cheap. All my friends thought I had done my own color instead of actually paying 20.00 for this service. I will not go back to this place again. read more

The place was busy but still accommodating, had lots of polish colors to choose from, and charged a fair price for a cutesy kiddo nail-do. She was thrilled, and thus, I'm a happy mama. I called prior to set an appointment time and of course no surprise to me had to wait (so what's the point of having an appointment). I kindly simply asked how long would it be as I had to return back to work in a bit and they started talking crap about me in Vietnamese thinking I didn't understand them. Well, I understood every word they said but kept my mouth shut. They are NOT following state board protocols in sanitization as they are reusing files, buffers, and implements over and over again. The storage containers for them were disgusting and filled with dust and grime. The owner cut me as he drilled into my natural nail at my cuticle line and I pulled my hand back-he yanked it back and then started talking more smack about me with all of the workers in there. When he was finally done I spoke to him in Vietnamese and told him I understood everything they said and that they needed to stop talking crap about paying customers. His jaw dropped. Diane use to be a great nail tech for me until she started rushing every nail appointment I make. She rushes my set like I'm not a paying customer. I got my nails done Saturday @9am I have already broke 3 nails and it's Tuesday. She put gel and redid the acrylic nail then told me her boss will finish he left me with a slanted nail and when I asked about it he threw the nail filer at me and said you do. I normally come here to get my nails done, since it's right next to my house. I can tell you that they're pretty quick too, so you'd be in and out of there if it's not too busy. Phuong Pham was the one who did my pedi and gel mani this time. I only had about an hour and a half to spare on this busy day, so she made it happen! I got toes and nails done within an hour. It was so quick, yet the quality of her work was nice. She was also very nice, so it was a good experience. I love how my nails turned out. I'm so glad she made it work within the timeframe I have, and she didn't even rush it either. I love coming here! Location is great, plenty of parking. This is usually my go to salon as it has pretty good prices and is right near my house...not anymore! I got a regular pedicure (which usually takes 30 minutes max). I sat down at 3:40 and didn't leave until 5:32... The first 80% of the pedicure was great but went downhill when she started doing the polish. She kept repainting my right big toe several times and it had about 20 layers of polish on it. I am not very confrontational, so I figured I would stay quiet and she would fix it. She didn't and finally the nail artist next to her called the manager over and told her to stop putting more coats on and left. Well she kept putting more coats on and he came back and took over for her. He eventually finished my foot (still bad, see attached photo), and got me out of there. I was very calm this entire time and did not once complain and tried to be very nice to everyone (the people next to me were more upset and vocal about it than I was) so when I went up to the front, he gave me the normal price and I asked for a discount as I had been there for almost 2 hours and there were people that came and left before me. He spoke with his manager who then said $5 off. I paid it with the meager discount just to get out of there. When driving home I was looking at my foot and the polish was just so bad. I am so it really disappointed in this experience and the fact that they refused to make it right. read more

I used to frequently come to this nail salon but stopped after a bad manicure a year or So ago. I received a gift card here So decided to take my 4 year old daughter for pedicures. We got there at 9:30 on a Friday and it was packed. I asked how long the wait would be. They said 15 minutes but in reality it was 45. They had my daughter and I soaking our feet (in plain water) for so long the water was cold by the time they got to us. My daughter was so excited and the lady proceeded to spend LITERALLY 5 minutes on my daughters pedicure. I couldn't believe it, 5 minutes! It was mandatory for the costumers to wear mask. The lobby was filling up with people. Social distancing was not being unforced They had people fill out a covid form, they didn't read them. Magic Nails is currently my go-to spot for getting manicures. The decision to get my nails done is always last minute for me, so I've never made an appointment. Nevertheless I usually don't ever have to wait more than five minutes for service. My gel manicures ($25) from them always last at least three weeks, and I appreciate that they achieve the goals of care and speediness, which is a hard combo to bring about. I also appreciate that no one tries to make small talk with me. I'm just not a small talk sort of person while that person is preforming a service for me! Magic Nails is usually bustling and has a good vibe inside. There is a very large screen TV on the back wall that is usually playing something amazing and innocuous. It's a great place to get nails done, which is why I keep coming back. Why only four stars? I called and made a reservation. I arrived 5 minutes before my appointment. I wore a mask, it seemed like everyone else was wearing a mask. An older gentleman ushered me to a chair. In between the chairs was plexiglass, but not six feet away from the next chair. I sat in my chair as my feet soaked, and I sat, and I sat and I sat. I watched them usher more people in chairs. All of them were filled by now. Only three technicians working on clients 3 clients, the 7 others, waiting. I asked the woman next to me how long she had been sitting there, "35 minutes". I waited 25 minutes. No one said anything to me. I did the math, I was going to have to wait another 15 minutes before I was next. As I sat there pondering my options I noticed more people walking in, no masks, not socially distancing. I quickly got up and walked out. Not one word was said. Waited 20min with an appointment and while she did a decent job on my pedicure with cleaning my nails and calluses, once I said I wanted a nude color, she just did one coat and no top. Then when she did my manicure she didn't even fully remove my existing gel and just tried to stand it off. My nails weren't shaped or filed properly.
