I wish I could give negative zero stars, but that is not an option…read more
I don't even know where to start. Let's start with the parking lot. There is a cement block, in front of each parking space, in this post office lot. I drive a Honda Civic, so my car is kind of low to the ground. Anyways, the parking spot I pulled into, had a cement block with three screws, poking out the top of it, which I did not initially notice.
I accidentally pulled forward a little too much, and one or two of those screws, caught onto a part of my bumper. I didn't realize what had happened, until I reversed a little bit, and heard a dragging noise on the ground. I quickly got out of my car to look underneath. I see part of my bumper ripped off. I was livid. I ended up going to a mechanic right afterwards, and paid X amount to get it fixed.
I had to spend unnecessary money on my car, all because the post office parking lot is crap. That was beyond f**king irritating!! Who knew a car would get damaged like that at a post office parking lot???! I thought about telling the clerks what happened, but I didn't think they would have cared that much.
I still had to go inside the post office, to get my mail and a package. I just want to clarify, that I only ever occasionally, use the "hold mail" option, provided on their website. I don't use it every week, every month, every year or anything like that. Anyhow, I go in and I tell the processing clerk (older Filipino man in his 60's, with gray and white hair, who wears glasses--first person you see as soon as you enter) I needed to pick up my mail, and a package that were put on hold.
This older Filipino guy gave me the hardest time ever. He right away insinuated and accused me of abusing their system. He tells me "I remember you because you had held mail here before. You cannot keep using us, to hold your mail out of convenience. You have come in too many times. That is how I remember you!" He went on to say "If you want us to hold your mail in the future, you must pay for a P.O. box. I am just a processing clerk, my job is not to go looking for your mail!"
I just stared at him for a few seconds in disbelief. He made it seem like I was deliberately, making more work for him and the other employees, when that was never my intention. Or that I was going out of my way to break their rules and policies, which again was not my intention. I explained to him, that I had never experienced an issue, with using the 'hold mail' tool/option until today.
I also explained that I genuinely did not know, I was overusing it and/or there was a limit. He just kept lecturing me and repeating himself. I finally just told him, that I will no longer be submitting, anymore hold requests. He just shrugged his shoulders. I really didn't appreciate the lack of understanding on his part. I especially did not appreciate, his condescending tone.
I always check and verify on the website if the 'Hold Mail' option, is available to me beforehand. And if it is available to me, and it lets me proceed, how am I to know, that I cannot actually use it, or that I have surpassed the limit?? If I reached a certain limit, the system should have notified me. And I would have simply stopped using the service. After this awful interaction, and after being talked down to like that, I have no desire, to step foot inside another post office again, unless I really have no choice.
I want to emphasize, I will not be submitting anymore future hold requests, since I will be lectured and given a hard time about it. I have never used any of the services, located inside any post office. And I still have no desire to in the future. More importantly, this older Filipino clerk guy doesn't have to remember me anymore, because I will not be going into this post office again.
