One of the few boba places with a drive-through and saves me plenty of time. Located in a spacious parking lot of a shopping plaza. It's usually not crowded during most times. My daughters ordered 2 drinks and 2 kimchi fries One of the drinks bananas strawberry smoothie tasted very bitter was awful. It didn't taste right like it should of. It gave us relaxing tropical vibes, like sipping a piña colada on the beach. The boba had great bouncy texture and subtle flavor, nothing extraordinary. The fruit tea madness was divisive between us - Alejandro found it a fantastic. Generous servings of diced strawberry, mango, green apple, and clear jelly filled the cup. He found the fruits and tea a good combination of very sweet ripened fruit and tart slightly unripe fruit, leading to a refreshing and balanced sweet-tart drink with complex layers. Esther found the drink overwhelmingly tart and not sweet enough to her liking. As for the churros, we found them overly dry and saturated with granulated sugar. I've been here several times now since finding them early this year my go to is the strawberry smoothie but sometimes add pineapple or peaches what I really like about this place is the smoothies are all natural no added sugar. The inside of this place was very eye catching. I liked the decor! I ordered the vanilla latte. It was pretty good, nothing special. My friend ordered the Green Tea Frapaccino and I have to say.. Anything macha or green tea related is hard to get right with my experience. This was actually pretty tasty. The girl at the front let us taste a few items before getting it just incase we didn't like it which was awesome! I also liked the fact that they had games available to play. I saw Jenga and Uno. Two stars. I clearly don't get the hype. Are the high ratings given for the drinks? I'll never know. The parking lot is big! It is really convenient to grab something via the drive thru or just as easy parking, walking in, and doing so. There weren't a whole lot of customers on a weekday half past noon. My dining companion and I were immediately helped at the ordering counter. We decided to skip the drinks and have the basic pork belly banh mi, saving our stomachs for some sweet tofu pudding later elsewhere. I'm glad we did because the banh mi was the saddest banh mi I've ever had. For $3.95 each, the banh mi bread was not nicely toasted nor slightly crisp. The filling was sparse compared to other places and even the vegetables were flavorless. Would the pho-nomenal dip have helped it? Well I honestly don't want a banh mi that can't help itself. As I took my first bite, I tasted some bitterness...took a second bite and oh yes, bitter indeed. As I wasn't sure what made it taste that way I dissected my sandwich and tried it bit by bit. It was the long slice of cucumber that was awfully bitter. I warned my dining companion before taking a bite of the other banh mi and guess what? Same thing! The bitterness was overwhelming and ruined our appetites. I went back up to the counter and spoke to one of the employees about our discovery, and suggested that they try one of their sliced cucumbers before putting it into another customer's banh mi. The response was..."so do you want another slice of cucumber?" No I don't unless it hasn't gone bad. The employee then said "Well, I could give you a new slice of cucumber but it might be the same." Okay, so you're trying to serve me something that really shouldn't be served and management probably should know about this??? For goodness sake, please have someone look at the cucumbers and try it out before another customer complains. She apparently didn't get it, so I gave up explaining to her. I just threw out our cucumbers and the rest of the pickled veggies because they were disgusting. Our banh mi were even more sad looking by now. Poor customer service is obvious. Poorer quality of a basic banh mi. Two stars are for the self help water station and the spacious seating area. We're lucky this is Houston and there are an infinite number of places to actually enjoy a great banh mi. read more

If I don't ever budge in freezing cold weather for frozen treats, it's worth the pain getting slapped with Houston's dripping-hot humid weather to roll down my windows and get a slushy. December is usually not yet unbearably cold in the Northeast, but somehow it was unusually warm and humid the week I stayed in Houston--it felt like summer, so it was only fitting to make the most of it--roll up my sleeves (literally--it was like a sauna) and eat a shitload of cold foods like I'll never experience warm weather again. And that's when I pretended it was still summer and decided on the Cha-Watermelon. This place oddly resembles a fast-food restaurant, even though it only has a small selection of small bites. Their novelty is their drinks--specifically the "cha" drinks, a series of Mexican-inspired fresh fruit slushies mixed with spices, topped with a tamarind stick. My tongue and my circulatory system being the overly sensitive, intolerant, thrill-hindering parts of myself, can sometimes deter me from trying many foods with spices. Because this drink normally has a lot of added chili powder, I left it out and don't think I got to to really experience and enjoy the spicy zing but I was really impressed with the drink overall. I've had far too many powdered watermelon drinks in my life and have always been hesitant about ordering watermelon drinks but this was the real deal--they used fresh watermelon and there were even bits of watermelon fruit on the top and bottom! The tamarind stick was an additional charge but it was the moderate amount of spice I needed to go with the drink, plus it's like 95% sweet anyway. This was definitely one of the memorable food experiences I've had in Houston--if only they expanded to the Northeast! read more

I don't visit this place often even though it's so close to me for a few reasons. It's over priced, the portions are sad, and the plaza it's in is really sketchy right now, due to construction (that's been going on for ages). The workers here are super friendly and prompt. The store's interior is really clean and a great place to study/have study groups. They have games and a printer which is really convenient. We ordered a small order of their voodoo chicken and 2 drinks, a watermelon slushie and a strawberry banana smoothie. The voodoo chicken was supposed to be spicy but just tasted salty. The basil (pretty sure that's what was in it) that were included were overly fried and we couldn't even pick one up without it crumbling to pieces. We paid $4 and it didn't come with much, it also wasn't very hot so I wonder if they just make them in big batches and leave them out? They did come out before our drinks did so probably. Our drinks were average. $3.95 for a 16 oz and I believe it was 75 cents more to upgrade to a 24 oz. The strawberry banana just tasted like a danimal and the watermelon slushie tastes the same about anywhere. All in all it was okay.. In my opinion, there are a lot more boba places in the chinatown area that you could visit where you can actually get your money's worth. Review is based on of the green Thai tea. Pretty different and unique. I liked it. It's a sweet drink probably loaded with sugar, it served its purpose as a dessert for me. The bottom has a stronger matcha flavor, and as you can imagine the top is creamier with the half and half. Staff is friendly restaurant and restroom were nice and clean. Nuoc Mat- wintermelon artichoke tea with like grass jelly I think chia seeds and agar jelly. My brother and mom did not like it. It wasn't made like other places.. very different and they also noted that it was too sweet. We weren't impressed with this drink at all. Get royal artichoke from long coffee instead. That's bomb! Voodoo chicken- chicken was hot and the chunks were nicely sized. It had a little kick of spice to it and it was nice and crispy. Came with a sweet chili sauce for dipping. They didn't really have anything on their menu that really set them apart. The only interesting thing that I saw after leaving was the CHA's? They look like the asian version of mangonadas? First off, the location is a bit past where many of the normal restaurants that I frequent are. Then when you pull into the parking lot, the person who stripped the lanes got lazy. All of the lines are in the same direction. This doesn't work because when you enter in, the aisles are only wide enough for one car, meaning you can only park on one side of the lot. It's not a HUGE problem, but definitely a nuisance. As far as the drinks, I had the Viet frappe, which is described as a variation on the cafe sua da, and by no means did it taste like it at ALL. It tasted like a basic drink you could get at Starbucks. I was heavily disappointed. My coworker had the Passion blast. This one was ok, basic, juice drink with jelly inside. I stopped by here last week as I got an errand in this part of town. I was one of two customers there that morning. I got my drink order of Thai Green Milk tea drink and Voodoo chicken. Both were pretty decent. I really like their interpretation of the Voodoo Chicken. I love the fact that the fried basil was added to induce the Southeast Asian twist to the dish. The beignets could have been fried a little bit longer as it was still doughy on the inside. Both of my drinks was good as well. It's was really fruity and made with just enough sweetness and balance. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the Xiu Mai Banh Mi (meatballs) . Every bite was a mouthful of bread :/.
