We came with a group of 8 and there was only 1 person working here, the same who took our order made our food. It would have been nice to tell us that it would take a while for 5 bahn MIs 4 drinks fries and nuggets, purely just to set expectations We sat waiting in the quiet with no communication The bahn MIs were dry and stale The drinks ok but one of them I was waiting for, for my kids.. saw it on the machine for like 20 mins and had to ask for it and she said oh I thought I gave it to you. By then it was melted Just took over an hour and the food and experience was lackluster read more

Drinks are expensive & service is rude. I wanted to know what was in my drink, & the lady working there acted like it was top secret & refused to tell me what my drink consisted of. Never coming back & not recommending this place to friends & family. Such a shame since it's so close by. I'll drive to kims instead..... read more

Came here to get some drinks. I like the fact that they have kids size cup since my kids can never finish and they don't like to share. The drinks was good and service was super fast. The cashier/drink maker is very rushy. I was deciding on what to get and she keeps rushing me and recommending drinks that I wasn't even looking at. She was nice and all but I was the only customer. read more

I got the "Spicy Lemongrass Beef Banh mi", and it was one of the best banh mi I've had in a Long Time! I'm gonna remember to come back here again soon. The Lady that helped me was very nice and helpful also. Good Sandwich, Good service. I'm Glad I checked this place out. read more

The drinks are good and fruity. The tapioca less chewy. It's a woman show so have some patience as she likes to work one customer at a time. The place is bright and cheery as is our proprietor. Interesting fruit combos so be prepared to try something new and different but delicious. read more

The foods are always soggy and or greasy. But the flavors are great, i just would like my food to not drip through the paper and give me a cholesterol overdose. 4:10 The lady at the counter is kinda moody, but she's nice and tries to be quiet with orders. 3/10 The inside seems like it wants to make you happy but it's still kinda damp and drab for what ever reason. It's nice though despite all of that. 3/10 read more

I've been going here often because I love the Mai's fries!! The house milk tea is also very good: it's milky and has an aromatic flavor. I haven't had any problems and the lady is always very nice :) read more

Very sweet owner. Drinks are made very quickly. Very close to my grandmas house. They have banh mi which is nice.

The boba is okay not the best. I also tried the shredded chicken banh mi. The bread was really warm and soft. It was not the best that I've had but it was okay. read more

First time trying this place out. Read all the low rating reviews because they're true. The person took our orders wasn't friendly but that's fine. My bf ordered a slushy, he made sure to say slushy multiple times but his drink was still made with dairy. When we told one of the employee, she just took it and walked away without saying anything. We got another one without milk though. They told us the wifi only works on laptop(?) The slushy was pure syrup, no real fruits there, and way too sweet. My kumquat lime tea was just ok but with no hint of sweetness lol... Boba was also mushy. Bacon cheese fries: fries were ok, no seasoning on the fries itself. Cheese was nacho cheese sauce and bacon was pale and soggy. Chicken nuggets: the okayest thing we had there. read more

Excellent quality boba and customer service. Drink was a little on the sweet side for my personal taste, but the bobs more than made up for it. Ambience is modern, minimal and elegant, clean and spacious. They also offer kids' cup sizes which speaks to the thoughtfulness of this mom-and-daughter run operation. I'll be back for sure! read more

WORST BANH MI EVER!!!!!!! Lady that took our order was not friendly and rude. She had dark thick eyebrows. It was our first time here and last. The sandwich lacked flavor and was inedible. Chicken bites were a joke. Panko crusted and some kind of hot powder sprinkled on top. Don't waste your money here on their food. Haven't tried their boba but I'm not gonna. read more

There is NO REAL FRUIT in your watermelon "slushie." You PUMPED A RED FLUID into the blender, added a lump of white creamy stuff (ice cream???) and water. It may not be Jolly Rancher brand, but it is ARTIFICIAL FLAVORING, and NOT REAL FRUIT. ALSO: a SLUSHY-type beverage has NEVER been ice-cream based. SLUSHY beverages have ALWAYS been a NON-DAIRY affair. Check with ANY US company that sells such products; Sonic is a great start, and they are all over Texas. Slushy means non-dairy. Tea House means real fruit. You are wrong on both counts. Sorry for being honest; I am certain there are many people who would enjoy such a concoction, but I am not one of those people. read more

I honestly like supporting small businesses around Richmond! Love the it's almost all small business owners. But when you have staff who seems like they don't want your business. I don't want to come back. They're not rude but it's like they're not happy to see you. She definitely did not pass the vibe check! I also asked if they have empanada and she said yea but it's gonna take about 15 mins. Which would've been fine but she said it as if it was such a big trouble for her to do it. I think this place needs some remodeling read more

Just decided to finally try this Teahouse because it's really close to where I stay and I've been very loyal to the same Teahouse for like 7 years. Any who, first let me say. The decor in this place is sooooo gorgeous and artistic. As well as the bright colors and game options. I tried the chicken potstickers, spicy fried calamari, and the matcha green tea smoothie. My total was $14 and some change which is very cheap. Everything came out hot and tasted good, but I would say the portion size are smaller in comparison to other tea houses I been to. I would definitely be back. read more

This is def one of my fave boba places in Houston. The service is good, there a games inside, and they play really good songs! The food is not my fave; I've tried the egg roles. But the teas and boba texture is so perfect. I've tried the mango green, blueberry green, peach green, peach and peppermint green, and the Oreo shake and I've loved every single one. read more

Do not get the shredded chicken bahn mi!! You will be sick to your stomach and will get food poisoning! The chicken is not good, not fresh, not cooked properly, and not edible. Expired chicken gave me and my brother horrible food poisoning and he has been throwing up and using the restroom nonstop! I'm never coming back here. My brother and his racist friend were banned from here last time just FYI! I have no part in that situation! If I was a part of that incident, I would've never stepped in and supported y'all on 06/06/23! I am only speaking upon the bahn mi outcome from my recent visit! Calm down. #grossfood read more

WORSE BOBA PLACE EVER! I ordered a nuoc mat here and it was the worse drink I've ever had!! Omg I was super disappointed. The flavoring was sooo off, I can't even explain it to you-- just know that it was disgusting! My brother ordered the passion fruit tea and it bland as well. We also ordered, mai fries and spicy garlic edamame. Mai fries were soggy and tasted straight like oil The spicy garlic edamame pissed me off because I thought they were going to stir fry the spicy garlic into the edamame but nope, the put the garlic stir fry on top of the edamame.. y'all, it was just sitting on top. I was confused bc how was we supposed to mix it when the basket is small and no utensils.. well, never again. Even though this place is close by I will rather drive to Bellaire for some good stuff and a bang for my buck! I don't see this place stay opening for long read more

I don't know why this place has such high ratings... Their drinks are overly sweet. Every single drink, was pure sugar. Milk tea, cafe sua, mango smoothie, avocado etc. Their food is mediocre, i had the kim chi fries and popcorn chicken and was not impressed. I can drive 5 minutes towards bellaire and get much better drinks and snacks. I wish this place tasted better but I can't stomach the food here. However, service is super!! So the two stars is just based on service. I'll give them one more try one day when I'm feeling up for it, but until then.. read more

Last week, I stopped by at Mai's Teahouse and the lady was giving me a hard time. I have been to Mai's Teahouse since the place was open and there's this one girl (Owner's daughter) always gives me what I want when I ordered any kind of sandwich. I always ordered any sandwich and asked her to add extra pate and mayonnaise. She would do it for me. So last week, the owner said that they can't add pate. I said "yes she can... cause I always get it that way" she argue back at me and then she told me that her daughter did it wrong. So I decided to walk out of the store and never come back. I usually always order the Mai's Fries and they're made so good. Today I called in for a pick up order for two Mai's Fries with no kimchi. I came in to pick it up and asked for two extra sauces on the side. The cashier charged me extra sauce for $1.00 and then extra kimchi $1.00? I don't really see how that made sense. I came home and opened up the sauce containers to see that the sauce wasn't even halfway filled, not even 1/3 of the container actually. I got charged an extra $2.00 for this? And the portion for the fries was considerably smaller than usual with barely any sauce too. Highly disappointed with today's food. read more

Finally they opened my 4 year old has been waiting for them for a long time... My little loves Boba and me personally not a fan so this is always a special treat just for her when she needs rewarding. I have been here twice so far once by myself and the other time with my little. The service is outstanding and the place is really cute and modern on the inside with TV and Comp WIFI. I ordered the Fruit Tea both times, and both times it is stacked with Fruit of all sorts and boba through out. They have different options of Boba that you can get based on size and one that pops in your mouth. They gave my daughter a variety of texture and she was in heaven. The also have a punch card and food, many people were eating the food and I am excited to come and try it. Super friendly and huge menu, you can't go wrong here! read more

Where do I start, the staff was exceptional, they were kind and had plenty of recommendations with it being our first time here. I got the Oreo cookie smoothie and the Taro coconut smoothie. They were on point, and believe me, I've been up and down Bellaire (China town) and I know a bad drink when I taste one. I've had drinks that were far too sweet, or with nothing but ice and completely flavorless, but Not those guys at Mai's Teahouse, they know how to make a good drink with the right consistency. The Bahn Mi was delicious, I had the BBQ pork sandwich with all the fixings. The sandwich was flavorful and I could tell it was made with fresh ingredients, that stuff really goes a long way, and it's little things like that, that will keep us coming back as repeat customers. Lastly we ordered a portion of there Mai's fries. It's there rendition of Kim Chi fries, but don't get it confused because these fries are like no other. The portion of these fries are so large, you're gonna be glad you had someone with you to share an order. These fries were so good, and I'm definitely making this a must when I come here in the future, oh and don't forget to add a fried egg on top. That's the icing on the cake when it comes to this monster serving of fries. read more

As a group of friends who LOVE teahouses and their food, the first words that came to mind were "At last! A teahouse that serves the Richmond surrounding area!" During our first visit, we arrived at closing time and they were preparing for their big opening the following day. Our first impressions were what a contemporary décor, friendly staff, and so conveniently located. Despite they were closing, the friendly staff still took our orders. Orders and Review Hazel nut coffee with coffee jelly - Unfortunately, the location ran out of tapioca and I was suggested to try other jellies they had. One jelly suggested was the coffee jelly, which complemented the drink very well. Grass Jelly Milk Tea- - Being a big fan of grass jelly milk tea, this drink was not what we were expecting. There was no jelly, the flavor was not appealing, and the drink just seemed very different from what other teahouses serve. Thai Tea- The Thai Tea lacked flavor. Peach Smoothie The smoothie was descent but has room for improvement. Since it was near closing, we decided to give it another try the following day to really try other flavors. Unfortunately, it did not turn as expected. We ordered 4 different drinks and an order of popcorn chicken. Banana Papaya Smoothie w/tapioca - The tapioca was good but the drink had a strong after taste that did not make it so appealing. Durian Smoothie w/tapioca - The Durian drink was on point with a natural taste and yummy tapioca. Grass Jelly Green Tea w/tapioca - At first, we received the wrong order and we had to ask for the correct drink. After the second drink was served, the drink was still incorrect. The drink was not grass jelly green tea but instead black milk tea. The drink was not great and had an unpleasant taste that had to be discarded. Avocado Smoothie - The avocado smoothie with tapioca was rich and delicious. Popcorn chicken - In comparison to other teahouses' popcorn chicken, the popcorn chicken here was bland and very dry. The popcorn chicken looked more like chicken strips/ chicken nuggets. Overall, it is a new establishment that is still working out kinks and adjusting recipes. As of now, we have tried 8 different drinks and a food item from their menu. Despite some of the items were not as expected, we will give it another try once they become more established. -A.L.B.A read more

Very cute and urban environment, came here to study for a bit after the storms. The staff seems to discriminate and give pushback when I gave them honest opinions on the quality/freshness of their "banana chips". I thought it was something with my taste buds at first but I washed it down and tried to eat them again...They smelled like the containers have been sitting in storage for MONTHS and she refused to offer me an exchange! (I was willing to pay an up-charge and current employee dismissed me without even checking the product) Very upsetting when I asked "when did the product shipment come in -- I got no direct answer just "I don't know". That is unacceptable to be selling people things you don't know the expiration on. Please do better. Never coming back here. read more

Saw the good reviews and it's close to my girlfriend's area so we decided to try it out. I ordered a Thai tea; it was very good! My girlfriend also enjoyed her regular Milk Tea. The balance of the the tea to condensed milk was good! And what I liked is that amount of ice was perfect, and it was not too sweet or too unsweet. The space inside is very inviting. There's a large opening when you walk in, lots of tables set up on the sides. There are also a plethora of board/card games so this is a perfect place to hang out! It feels family run, which is a plus. The staff was very nice, they were helpful and quick. The variety of drinks should suit any boba enthusiast's needs, and they also have banh mi there if you want to grub. Overall, loved our experience, and we'll be back very soon! read more
