We never really go.that far past Wilcrest, so when we passed Magic Cup today, I chose it over my regular place. I like that they also have a drive through. They aren't that efficient at working it, as the wait time for them was as long as boba zone...but boba zone has a full line and they had no line. There aren't a lot of places that makes wintermelon milk tea. I asked if they would make it into a slush and they said yes, but if you don't like it, no refunds. We also ordered Cha pineapple and voodoo chicken. The total was 17.92. The slush was very light in flavor. I actually didn't mind too much, but for the price...they definitely skimped on the ingredients. The chapineapple looked good, but it was just okay and my friend said he would have preferred bigger chunks of fruit. He also said they skimped on the chamoy considering the large size of the drink. I really liked the flavor of the voodoo chicken...but that was not a lot of chicken imo. I asked to see the receipt because I was like how much did this cost?! Well...they didn't give us a receipt, so...I don't know. The drive through lady was super nice...but she took the money, then promptly forgot what we ordered. Then we reminded her, but she rushed off to get the drinks before we finished talking...then forgotten rest of our order. We had to remind her again. All in all, the experience was okay. The larges are huge! I would say it's worth the slightly higher cost, except they definitely watered it down. I found it funny that they verbally and visually had disclaimers about off menu items, but appreciated their being upfront about it. I feel that they were a bit disorganized at their drive through in wait time and order accuracy. The staff of young teens is always very helpful and eager to make sure that you are able to drink something sweet or eat something great. Definitely one of my favorite tapioca/snack spots in the Bellaire area. I've come here many times, and there wifi is alwyas on point. I have been going to Magic Cup for a while, especially when Boba Zone gets way too overcrowded. The menu prices has changed to a higher price and it's not really a "study cafe" which is a shame especially from the many outlet ports (big bonus so good for them). The reason for this is because of the noise. Depending on when you go, there are people talking LOUD, if you don't have noise-cancellation headphones (really recommend those) and the music they play is not study friendly either. However, I don't believe it's supposed to be a study cafe but more of a hangout for friends and such. Other than that, I do recommend bringing noise-cancellation headphones if you are going to be studying or need chill time, and the prices going up is understandable but more pricer than other places. If you do want a place to hangout and just chat, it's not a bad place. Won't stop going, but some warnings beforehand. read more

The tea has a perfect balance of milk and tea. Every sip it makes you want to sip another and another. My tea didn't last long and made me wanting more. I am definitely going back to get anotha one! Cute place! I'm surprised it has taken me this long to come check out this place. It is on the other side of Bellaire so it is a little further drive from Chinatown (like a couple of minutes). I can easily see this place as a hangout place or even to study. The inside is clean with a straight forward menu. I had the matcha green tea milk tea while my boyfriend ordered the mango slush. Both were good and if I have a bigger stomach, I would hog both of them to myself. I thought the level of sweetness was the right amount. Service is always really quick and friendly at Magic Cup! Their drive-thru is very useful if you just want to grab a quick drink, which I usually do. The interior is clean, modern, and welcoming. It's a great place to hangout with some friends! My favorite drinks to get is the Cha-Mango and the flavored fruit teas. I like how they are made with real fruits and are garnished with the fruit as well. I'm not too fond of their milk teas, but I am a fan of their tapioca balls. They have a great texture! I was able to sample their matcha tea and it was pretty good - unsweetened and a little getting used to, but I liked that it wasn't overly sweet. One of my friends and I's go-to places for a small group hangout! Service: The service here is pretty good and fast-paced. They call you up by the number you were given to get your drinks. Cashiers are friendly and helpful if you have any questions about the beverages or snacks. One time, however, I saw a cashier looking visibly annoyed because a customer was taking a long time to decide. It's understandable since I know the workers have a lot to get done, but it wasn't that busy. So I have to deduct half a star for that one cashier since I see him pretty often and I never really got a good experience with him. Environment: 5/5 for the clean and comfy atmosphere. Restrooms are also clean. Chairs and table are big and they have many outlets, perfect for group studying or hang out. However, don't go here to study during their rush hour. This is my third time coming to Magic Cup. My dad found this place driving around Bellaire and bought me a strawberry smoothie with tapioca. & since then, there's no other tapioca place I would get strawberry tapioca at. It's basic, simple, and delicious. The fact that it doesn't taste like frozen strawberries and topped with ACTUAL fruit on top, just makes it that much better. The last time I came here, I brought my boyfriend to try it and he got the strawberry smoothie with tapioca and I got the mango smoothie with tapioca. Delicious, as always. For their drinks, I've also tried their fruit tea, which tastes like most fruit tea drinks. Expect not with chunks of fruit, but a combination of small bite size fruits and jelly. It was okay. Not necessarily something I would buy often. For their food, their kimchi fries are good, but nothing compared to Oh My Gogi's (sorry!) and their voodoo chicken has a scale of spicy from 1-4. I have tried out their other location in Dallas so I knew sort of what to expect. -Fruit tea madness: this drink was infamously sweet. They had already made my drink before I could correct them, which sort of impressed me on how quick there were. The drink wasn't sweet but sort of perfect in the sweetness level. Hopefully this wasn't by luck! The tapioca was also pretty good quality. -cha mango: everyone's opinion is sort of everywhere with this drink. It really is what it is. It tastes like real mango and chamoy. I'm not a huge fan of chamoy but if you are then go for it. If you're not, don't blame the venue, it's a taste preference. -cha watermelon: I really enjoyed the flavor of the watermelon. I was told that they use real watermelons and since I didn't like the chamoy, I could've ordered it without it. It's very refreshing! I would return. Service was nice and the drinks were quick to serve (at least when I came in). This place is still fairly new so I don't want to be too quick to judge. So far, I'm impressed. I would order again as the closest spot to get Mangonadas is quite far. Friends noted that their drinks were just "OK." There's too many drink shops on Bellaire, so you've really gotta step up your drink game or bring something new and innovative for folks to drive out a tad bit further from the Beltway. Got a chance to come by and try this place out today. They only just opened, but they get everything done very smoothly. There are plenty of workers, which is great because the drinks get done pretty fast. The employees are very friendly and helpful. MATCHA GREEN TEA This drink was okay. I like that it wasn't overly sweet. The matcha is pretty light and it's creamy. I would say it's more milky than matcha. I prefer the earthy taste of matcha, but this drink was on the lighter side. It does have a bit of a gritty texture because of the powder. The boba was soft and flavorful and they gave plenty of them. CHA-WATERMELON I like the sweet watermelon slushie and the bit of spice that was added to it. This drink reminded me of this one candy I would eat when I was younger. The great thing about this drink is that it's not one solid texture. There are little pieces of watermelon that you can chew on and you can take bites out of the piece of candy straw as well. Even though it wasn't a bad drink, I would prefer to eat the candy if I want the same flavor. It's way cheaper. TARO MILK TEA I didn't like this drink very much. It was pretty sweet and the taste was a bit off for me. It was creamy and very light. I would've preferred a thicker consistency of taro. I could taste the taro, but it was very different from other taro drinks I've had in the past. I came, I tried, and I left. I'm not sure I'll be back. The price for these drinks are a bit high especially when there are other drink places 2 minutes away for cheaper. I like Magic Cup. My favorite drink is the House Milk tea drink, and I have came back multiple times for this drink. I liked that they keep track of purchases and points electronically (like PHI) using your number rather than the standard stamps on a card. It kind of faintly reminds me of the closed Dunobaby's milk tea, which was a favorite in my teen years. As for their foods, I tasted the voodoo chicken (which I think is over-hyped) and the magic puffs. I really liked the magic puffs with only the sugar powder by itself rather than the second time with the strawberry and chocolate drizzle. After looking through various reviews here in Yelp, boyfriend and I decided to order 3 popular items on the menu. Cha-watermelon, passionblast tea, and the voodoo chicken. We weren't impress with any of them. Cha-watermelon - 2/5 - I couldnt taste any chamoy in the drink at all. All I could taste was the ice and frozen watermelon cubes. Yuck!! Passionblast - 3/5 - I gave this drink a 3/5 because its a simple drink, come on, you cant mess up a passionfruit tea. Nothing very special about it, you could probably get this drink anywhere maybe even paid cheaper for it too. Voodoo chicken - 2/5 - Presentation looks awesome and thats where they earned the 2 out of 5. And it went down hill from there. Chicken was tasteless! There was barely any chicken in there but just a lot of breading. No flavor and even the basil ( or whatever veggies they have on top) didnt help either. Usually other tea house places have very flavorful chicken because of their flavoring salt and the basil enhanced tanginess. Such a let down Magic Cup! Overall, I give this place 1 star simply because of their openness interior and hip decor. Other than that, the drinks and food so far is not up to par with other tea houses in the area. read more

Happy New Year!I visited Houston Asian town during the 2019 Lunar New Year.I was looking for a tea house which I can check my mobile and computer.I found here on Google maps.I liked here - There are a lot of parking spots.However, many constructions were going on February 6th 2019.I saw many cars on the drive through. It seems that people really like drive through services here. - Inside are relatively clean.I didn't feel any nasty smells here.Restrooms were clean.I used Wifi.The connection was super good. - I ordered milk tea.It was not sweet.That's my cup of tea,I liked it.Many Asian tea houses are notoriously " Americanized" which is too sweet.
