Magic Cup is a convenient spot to pick up some bubble tea on the go since they are one of the few bubble tea places with a drive thru. However, this doesn't mean that their interior isn't accomodating. The inside of the store is a good place to hang out with friends, and study. Although I've heard their WiFi can be a bit spotty. Their reward system is also convenient since you only have to enter in your phone number instead of carrying around a stamp card. I really like their Thai Green Tea with Crystal Boba at half sweetness since full sweetness is too sweet for me, and their Fried Fish Tofu snack. They have a lot of different drink options to choose from though, and they are also constantly adding new menu items, so it's always great to check back every so often to try new things. read more

I got the strawberry mango slushie and it was so flavorless. I did appreciate the small fruit chunks on top. It was definitely not worth $5, and I would not recommend their fruit slushies. Despite not having many customers, the staff took a long time to take my order and make my drink. I was really craving boba since I couldn't go out ever since quarantine started, so I decided to UberEats boba from here. I got 2 Nuoc Mat drinks w/ rainbow jelly for my mom and sister, and one Nuoc Mat w/ boba for myself. When it arrived at my house, I noticed that the label on my cup didn't indicate that it had boba on it, but when I went back to my UberEats order - it said I had paid for the topping. So, maybe it was just a misprint with the label, but I was pretty disappointed since this was my first boba drink in a while. I've purchased drinks from here before and they were good so I had no complaints, but even the Nuoc Mat drink by itself (without the topping issue) was underwhelming for a $6 drink. I placed my order and when I got to the window drive thru I waited for 10 mins then when I got my order they forgot one of my orders. Mango smoothie wit chunks of mangos and lots of chili powder. To top the entire drink off, there's a chili straw that slowly release more chili into the drink. I wouldn't let it sit for too long because the drink can get pretty spicy at the end. The phonomenal dip was an interesting concept and I enjoyed it. I can't say enough about this place. This is my new go-to spot for studying; plenty of seating with outlets all throughout the shop. Their voodoo chicken is consistently delicious and crunchy (medium spicy, please!) and the staff is so, so friendly. I liked that they keep track of purchases and points electronically (like PHI) using your number rather than the standard stamps on a card. It kind of faintly reminds me of the closed Dunobaby's milk tea, which was a favorite in my teen years. As for their foods, I tasted the voodoo chicken (which I think is over-hyped) and the magic puffs. I really liked the magic puffs with only the sugar powder by itself rather than the second time with the strawberry and chocolate drizzle. Store: Walked in and noticed it's super modern style of decor with modern music playing over the speakers. Still has the Asian feel with the money cat in the back and plastic chairs. Plenty of parking outside with a big lot. The inside floors and tables look pretty clean even even with the amount of foot traffic. Got a chance to come by and try this place out today. They only just opened, but they get everything done very smoothly. There are plenty of workers, which is great because the drinks get done pretty fast. The employees are very friendly and helpful. MATCHA GREEN TEA This drink was okay. I like that it wasn't overly sweet. The matcha is pretty light and it's creamy. I would say it's more milky than matcha. I prefer the earthy taste of matcha, but this drink was on the lighter side. It does have a bit of a gritty texture because of the powder. The boba was soft and flavorful and they gave plenty of them. CHA-WATERMELON I like the sweet watermelon slushie and the bit of spice that was added to it. This drink reminded me of this one candy I would eat when I was younger. The great thing about this drink is that it's not one solid texture. There are little pieces of watermelon that you can chew on and you can take bites out of the piece of candy straw as well. After reading everyone's review, I went off of my own gut and ordered what I felt would be good. I have tried out their other location in Dallas so I knew sort of what to expect. -Fruit tea madness: this drink was infamously sweet. They had already made my drink before I could correct them, which sort of impressed me on how quick there were. The drink wasn't sweet but sort of perfect in the sweetness level. Hopefully this wasn't by luck! The tapioca was also pretty good quality. -cha mango: everyone's opinion is sort of everywhere with this drink. It really is what it is. It tastes like real mango and chamoy. I'm not a huge fan of chamoy but if you are then go for it. If you're not, don't blame the venue, it's a taste preference. -cha watermelon: I really enjoyed the flavor of the watermelon. I was told that they use real watermelons and since I didn't like the chamoy, I could've ordered it without it. It's very refreshing! I would return. Service was nice and the drinks were quick to serve (at least when I came in). This place is still fairly new so I don't want to be too quick to judge. So far, I'm impressed. Cha-Watermelon deliciousness! Tried out this place since it was right in front of my hairdresser's shop. Yelp said the chamoy flavored drinks were not to be missed and they were right! I got a large 24 ounce chamoy watermelon and it was soooo good. Comes equipped with a chamoy candy straw, long spoon to scoop up your chunks of fresh watermelon and your standard large tapioca straw for slurping. It was good, but it tasted like the mango portion came from a container and not made with fresh mangos. Chamoy sauce and straw is standard; similar to Mexican shops. I would order again as the closest spot to get Mangonadas is quite far. Friends noted that their drinks were just "OK." There's too many drink shops on Bellaire, so you've really gotta step up your drink game or bring something new and innovative for folks to drive out a tad bit further from the Beltway. Asian version of Starbucks lol :) I have been eye-balling to their Bellaire location quite sometimes now. Today, on the way to home I passed their location again and I made a decision to make a quick U-turn to give them a visit. OMG! I'm glad that I did it. Food : I didn't have so much time to try their food however, what I saw on the menu it was quite descent and yunmy. Decor : I have to admit one of the best designed coffee shop i've ever seen. We weren't impress with any of them. Cha-watermelon - 2/5 - I couldnt taste any chamoy in the drink at all. All I could taste was the ice and frozen watermelon cubes. Yuck!! Passionblast - 3/5 - I gave this drink a 3/5 because its a simple drink, come on, you cant mess up a passionfruit tea. Nothing very special about it, you could probably get this drink anywhere maybe even paid cheaper for it too. Voodoo chicken - 2/5 - Presentation looks awesome and thats where they earned the 2 out of 5. And it went down hill from there. Chicken was tasteless! There was barely any chicken in there but just a lot of breading. No flavor and even the basil ( or whatever veggies they have on top) didnt help either. I went to the drive thru to make a quick order and there was one car in front of me and three cars behind me. The car in front of me ordered and drove off, once it got to my turn no one helped. I sat there for 20 minutes and no was there to do my order. I said hello a couple times because I thought maybe no one knows I'm here. That wasn't the case. Went around 3 pm and the setting was very calm and relaxed but I know for a fact lines are crazy towards the end of the night. The outside looked very well with the patio and display as well as the inside. The menu is quite extended. I think it's just a hype right now because it's new and offer popular drinks. Cha-watermelon was really refreshing and yummy. Drink is worth the cost and drive. If I remember correctly, the 16 oz including tapioca add-on was below $4! Not bad as most tap joints in the area are getting to be upwards of $5. Downside was that the price for those milk teas spoke for its' quality. They were not made fresh. They keep containers of pre-made milk teas ready on the side to just pour into cups... not cool. Also tried their Voodoo chicken and found it to be pretty good, if not better than most popcorn chicken options on Bellaire. They offer a small and large size option. Came back today to try what they're known for: the Cha-Mango and was really happy with it! The only thing I enjoyed here was the Cha-Watermelon. It was soooo good with the perfect amount of chamoy, Lucas and watermelon with watermelon bits and a candy straw. Hubs and I were in the neighborhood so we checked out Magic Cup. I remember seeing it being built when dining at Hai Cang Seafood. So welcome ANOTHER teahouse on Bellaire Chinatown. The place was popping with families and teens. It's great that it has a drive thru! This is the only 2nd one I've seen on Bellaire or Houston area with a drive thru. We already had dinner so we were stopping by for some Magic Cup and not necessarily their snacks. I got the Vietnamese Frappe, jasmine milk tea, and kiwi apple punch. The Vietnamese Frappe was a disappointment. Didn't taste like Vietnamese coffee but like mcdonalds Frappe. I even tasted some chocolate or mocha syrup to it, which isn't typical or expected in such a drink.... but ok. I enjoyed the jasmine milk tea and the hubs enjoyed his kiwi apple. The surprise factor was the powered sugar on top of the fries. We both avoided the powder and wished we could have opted out had we known that the fries were served ahead of ordering. Okay, so my main complaint is that this place is about an hour away from my house. Let me preface this with: I am a strawberry banana drink connoisseur. I have had every version imaginable to man, so you can trust my reviews if you are also a lover of strawberry banana anything. I have to add, my family is also picky about our tapioca AKA boba, there are only a couple of boba places we will patronize. So we decided to be clever and go through the drive thru for one drink as a tester before getting our other drinks. You don't have to ask, of course you can use my idea! After a game of rock, paper, scissors, I was destined to be our guinea pig. As you correctly predicted, I ordered the strawberry banana drink (they called theirs a slush). I usually like creme, but I'm not too picky when the heat index is apporoaching skin-melting, as long as there is strawberry. And banana. Anything to help cool me down (other than the A/C) is usually going to make me happy. So I had the option of a small (16 oz) or a large (24 oz). I went for the big one, of course ($5.89 total with tapioca), GO BIG OR GO HOME, right? They hand me the massive cup topped with - what else - WHIPPED CREME. Did I mention whipped creme also makes me happy? The drink LOOKS delicious, but it's how it tastes that really matters. I take a deep breath and approach the straw. My reflexes kick in and next thing I know, I'm chewing on some pretty spectacular tapioca balls. They passed the test. The consistency was good, not too hard, not too soft, just enough sweetness, not bland or overloaded. The drink itself was great as well, just enough ice to cool me down, nice blend of strawberry and banana. We loop around for our other drinks as well as an extra cup of 2 scoops of tapioca for my daughter. Everything looks and tastes delicious, as expected. I will close with, I will definitely be back because the price was right, my tastbuds are happy, and the calories were worth it. Honestly, it's been so hard to find a good place for jasmine milk tea here in Houston. This spot makes it like I like it.. not water down nor too sweet. The restroom is clean and the staff were nice. I recommend. :) my new to go place for boba tea. read more

New teahouse in town! Today we tried this new tea house located in Bellaire and Kirkwood and the experience was pleasant. Environment: the inside has a modern touch with ample seating area and tv screens displaying menus and drinks. In addition, the location has board games and free wifi for personal use. Also, a very good choice of music for the place so definitely a good hang out chill place to come with your friends. Service: the service is amazingly fast! We got our orders in less than 5 minutes! Food preparation: the kitchen area seemed a little over crowded with the fresh fruit exposed to the public. We would recommend a barrier to avoid contamination between guest and food. Orders placed: Strawberry mango slush- super refreshing and all natural! Yum-o! Matcha green tea- you can definitely taste matcha and we highly recommend trying it! Berry passion fruit- berry good!! Highly recommend! Since it is all natural it is not so sweet but refreshing! House milk tea- the tea is not recommend and wouldn't order again. The taste is not there and tasted like coffee instead of milk tea. Cha mango- very creative having the chamoy on the straw and very delicious to eat out of. The open lid gives access to eat the chunks of mango and and enjoy the slurpy. Their signatures drinks are their cha-signature and slushies. So if you order anything from this list you won't regret. Other than the unsanitary open fruit bar, one complaint about the place is maybe the need to work on the vents. Water was dripping at the place we were sitting which was a few inch from where our drinks were sitting.
