I just had to put in my 2 cents. Lol. FRUIT TEA MADNESS- it's pretty refreshing, but a bit too sweet, I'd still prefer Juice Box's fruit tea. THAI GREEN TEA- super sweet even AFTER I've asked them to put more tea. The one at Phi's is perfect. This one is like sugar. CHA-MANGO - tastes good. But needs more spice in it. Or else it's just an upgraded version of a mango smoothie. read more

Magic Cup - Read my review - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Houston, Texas

Weird plaza area with the parking lots and nearby stores all under construction. Perk is that they have a drive through which I'm happy to give a try and give an updated review. There were very few people inside and the wait time for 2 drinks and 1 fruit cup was ridiculous. Ordered the 16 oz Thai Green Milk Tea with boba at 50% sugar level. The size and sugar level were on point but the milk tea didn't have the freshness milk taste. The boba was below par. Not much to say because the place isn't too memorable. Glad I ordered the smaller size but the 24 oz would've only been $0.75 more. The menu looks very diverse and interesting so I may try something else next time. However, I have a feeling the milk tea and boba are all pre-made since nothing tasted fresh. read more

Came in here because I needed a study spot to do some personal work. The atmosphere inside is pretty hipster. A lot of young kids age 14-17 and older adults when I stepped in. In the corner of the facility they have board games if you would like to have some fun while eating! They also have a broad selection of different coffee and fruit slush flavors. I recommend the kimchi fries and magic puffs. Highly recommend for families and people that need to do work and do not have WiFi lol. 5 stars read more

Always a 7-10 minute wait time for drinks in the drive thru. Nobody even acknowledges you or take an order for a long time. Wouldn't have written a review if this wasn't a consistent thing in the last few weeks. My last order for Cha Mango was 13 minutes. This was a Tuesday afternoon around 2 PM. Today is Saturday at 11:30 it's the same thing. If you don't value others time and don't even feel to acknowledge it then we don't need to patronize. No matter how good your product is. read more

My go-to place for the artichoke drink or Thai tea is Magic Cup. The drinks are very consistent, as I've been at least 6 times and each order has never been off. This last time, I brought my main squeeze (husband). He enjoyed the avocado smoothie and I nodded in delight with my artichoke drink. We shared the sweet potato fries. The surprise factor was the powered sugar on top of the fries. We both avoided the powder and wished we could have opted out had we known that the fries were served ahead of ordering. Oh well, note to self next time. As someone else mentioned, the parking lot is an eyesore and danger zone. However, this is not something the owner can control so it seems rather odd to ding the business for this. read more

Magic Cup is a standalone renovated shop in front of a plaza that has seen better days. Magic cup isn't your typical boba drink shop you frequently see along bellaire, but it takes the idea and puts it own contemporary spin to it. Walking into magic cup, you're reminded that this shop use to be a fast food joint of some kind, but you'll notice immediately the decor of the place has been upgraded to nice slick tables, chairs and TV's showing their menu. Its decently clean inside. I ordered a cha-mango and a korean fries. First thing i noticed was how overpriced these items were. With these two orders, it came out to be $13 dollars. The cha-mango was close to $6 when you can go down the street to Boba zone and get a similar product for $4.50, I also feel the cha-mango did not taste as good as Boba zones. The korean fries were fantastic to the palate, but not so friendly on the wallet as it was close to $6 as well. Overall, my experience at Magic Cup was an average one at best. While the place is brand new, the facility will be sparkling clean, but give time, these things will show its age. Menu wise, Magic Cup offers decent quality product, but there are better options elsewhere for a better price. read more

Drinks: Thai Green Tea - I've been seeing photos on social media and thought it'd change my life. It was less sweet than the Thai tea I regularly order. It wasn't bad, but wasn't good either. Cha-watermelon-It was refreshing in this hot Texas heat but I wished there was some more Chamoy! Atmosphere: There's a few tables and booths in the middle. They have games, and the sitting areas were clean. Service: The service was a little off. Numbers after us were getting served first, and we had to ask where our drinks were. Seems just a little unorganized. read more

I wish i could give zero stars. I loved this place but today I couldn't take the disrespect by one of their staff. I ordered my drink with boba. They didn't put it in there. When i complained about it the girl was so disrespectful talking about can you take out the straw? I did that and she literally just dumped my drink in a cup with bobba and made it look like a hot mess! My issue is how disrespectful she was about the situation. She never once apologized for the error. Where is the customer service? Definitely never coming here anymore. read more

Props to this businesses coming up with new flavors and putting a twist on their drinks but they're items aren't worth the price sold for. They seem to always be changing the prices. Went here today and my drink wasn't even filled to the top and when I asked why the lady said it'd be an extra .49 cents which I find ridiculous because what's the point of paying the set price for the drink if there's some missing? Aside from that they're reward program just changed and when I tried to redeem my free drink the lady told me it was applied to the cheapest drink now. When it use to be worth up to 5 dollars and applied to the drink worth the most. I've tried a fair share of tapioca places and this place just doesn't do it for me anymore, there's other great alternatives down the street of Bellaire with better prices and quality. read more

Came here today for the first time after seeing all the great Yelp reviews and I was not disappointed. I got the Thai green milk tea with boba and it was so good. The inside is pretty big and modern. I went to the drive thru to make a quick order and there was one car in front of me and three cars behind me. The car in front of me ordered and drove off, once it got to my turn no one helped. I sat there for 20 minutes and no was there to do my order. I said hello a couple times because I thought maybe no one knows I'm here. That wasn't the case. All the cars behind me ended up leaving and I drove off as well. As I pulled away I saw the workers inside doing nothing. This is the first time this has happened to me and that's disappointing because I'm a regular customer here. I left and went to another boba place nearby and they attended me very quickly. Now that's unacceptable. read more

If you've had milk tea, you know that there is B A D tea out there... Well, this place is one of the G O O D ones! Up the street from Boba Island (bad), down the road from Boba Zone (busy), you'll find a little Magic here. Great flavors, even better service and prices. Be sure to enroll in their rewards program, and don't forget about their food menu! Kick back inside if you're feeling lazy, or utilize their Driv-thru if you're feeling REALLY lazy! Board games and study groups are welcome inside (meeting in the drive through is discouraged). Favorite: Taro Root Milk Tea Experience the mythicality here at Magic Cup 2. read more

Love the drinks, food, study times and the time playing games with our kids. Precious time with family and quite time.

I love their special drinks. Amazingly delicious (This is the order I like the most....Cha Mango, Cha Strawberry, & Cha Pineapple.) I highly recommend to my friends. Cha Mango is my favorite. This is an unique drink. There is a sweet, sour, tangy, & a kick of spicy taste. I had the voo-doo chicken & fried sweet basil calamari. Everything was great. read more

I tried several drinks (cha mango, milk tea, viet frap, fruit tea, passion fruit/peach tea, thai green milk tea, matcha milk tea), only viet frap and cha mango were really good to me. The rest were just alright, I wouldn't order them again. While viet frap was really good, I had to ask for less condensed milk drizzle on the cup, otherwise it will turn overly sweet after couple sips. Great setting, modern and roomy! Good for hanging out with friends as well as studying. It looks like they also have professional espresso/coffee machine here (other tapioca places don't have this) so this is a good place for studying owls :) read more

First let me start off by saying this place makes the best healthy and FRESH drinks and smoothies in Houston. Every time I visit here I get nothing but the best. The reason I'm not giving a 5 stars review is because of the lack of kindness in its employees with PAYING customers, which is what drives a business to stay open! Have you ever had someone argue with you when you're the paying customer?? I have! Upon arriving last weekend I wasn't greeted with a warm welcome "hello" or "Welcome to Magic Cup" not one nice gesture, but instead I was given a dirty MEAN look of disgust. Instead of using the drive thru, which I now regret, I opted in going inside to place my order. Well, for starters I was surprised with the amount of staff working they would be busier. Wrong. A few cars in the drive thru line, but dine in wasn't an option. I can understand their reasoning and I respect that. However, with business slow you would think they could amp up their friendliness a bit, but that wasn't the case. The greeter behind the plexiglass was rude and cold. She said some of their drink making policies changed because of Covid-19. Understood. What I don't understand is if I'm the paying customer and I am requesting or asking for something why does it turn into a list of excuses or being told we don't do that here when I'd been there plenty of times in the past and never told I couldn't get what I asked for. I simply asked for a smoothie with fresh fruit topping and was told they cannot make that anymore because the lid isn't sealed. When I asked about ordering another drink I was told they ran out of Boba tapioca and there was at least a 20 minute wait for it...Really on a Sunday afternoon at 3pm? The associate said they had a rush of people and ran out. I ordered the drink anyway as is with NO boba and was offered nothing in return. I ended up waiting that 20 minutes and finally got what I paid for. Let's just say this experience could have been A LOT better if employees had been nicer and friendlier. I have no problem writing a nice review, but please give me good service with a good attitude. I would've also left a tip, but not this time! read more

Management reached out to discuss the issue. We stopped by today to pick up another gallon of green Thai tea and the manager came out to greet us and apologize for the what happened. They also let us know that the cap issue will no longer be a problem. I really appreciate that they reached out! 5 stars for Management! read more

Being a grand opening, I don't want to be bias and automatically say this is a great place but so far so good. You walk into a modern designed dining area with simple kitchen and was greeted by some friendly smiling faces. The menu boards were filled with lots of bright and colorful frozen concoctions. I wanted to try them all. Also noticed that they have some snacks to order like fries. For now, we just tried their drinks. I usually order the taro coconut smoothie when I have a thirst for boba, and magic cup didn't let me down on their version of this drink. The consistency of the smoothie was perfect, and you can definitely taste the taro and coconut. Some places claim to have taro and coconut but their taro over powers the coconut. Not here at magic cup, it was blended perfect. I was also able to enjoy a dragon/lion dance which brought good luck to the new establishment. And kids were able to get their faces painted. This is a good new establishment that we will definitely be back to try more of their drinks. read more

Just saw that this place opened up so I decided to try it out today. Everything on the menu looks really good! I seriously wanted to try everything! The inside looks really clean, not really sure if it's a good place for studying. It kinda feels more upbeat. Fruit Tea Madness: when I got it, it wasn't cold enough. I know I just could of asked for more ice but I was too lazy. I did like the drink but I thought it was slightly too sweet and the tea was really strong. Matcha Green Tea: This is really good, perfect fixation for all those green tea lovers. I'll be coming back just because there's so many good drinks on the menu that I would still wanna try! If you are contemplating on trying this place, I say go for it! Those Magic Puffs look really appetizing :) read more

Honestly one of the best bubble teas I've ever had (I went with the Thai Green milk tea). It was dirt cheap (compared to what we have in the Midwest) and so refreshing on a hot and humid summer day in Houston. We definitely took our time drinking our teas so we could make them last juuuust a bit longer. Magic Cup, we will be back whenever we're back in town! read more

Only been here a couple of times but I would say it's not exactly my favorite tapioca place. With so much variety nearby I was hoping to have more flavor in the drinks. I found the wintermelon tea rather bland but the chamango was definitely a winner in my book. I guess I'm more of a sweet drink person as a lot of people seem to think the flavor here is pretty good. Haven't tried the food but it looks good in pictures. I think the venue itself is very modern and nice and they let you check out board games for free. The menu is a bunch of tv screens and the kitchen is very open concept so you can see them prepping the food and drinks as you wait. read more

One of the newer drink places in bellaire area. This place offers a variety of drinks and snacks so there's alot of choose from. Looks like they will have a drive thru so that would be convenient. Cha-watermelon (4/5) - it's like a slush style mix with Mexican Lucas powder. It's different and pretty good. Cha-mango (3/5) - it was really sour Thai green milktea (2/5) - I've had better Kimchi fried (3/5) - tasted like it was lacking something. Garlic wings (3/5) - I've had better It was nice to try out but nothing really stood out to me. read more

Tried this spot because I kept seeing pictures on snapchat of my friends during grand opening. Tried their Cha Mango (not pictures) and Kiwi Green (one of their Special-teas). The fruit was very fresh and the tea wasn't diluted like other places. The Cha Mango was really good and had a good amount of spice in it. The overall place was very bright and modern with white tables, woody walls and comfy chairs. I believe they do have games for you to borrow to play while chilling with friends. Fist time this placed opened it did not start really well. The drink was gross and too sweet and the food was gross. Now this place is great, the chicken is perfectly cooked and spiced. The drink is not too sweet and steeped. Kind and very fast service. read more

My favorite thing about this place is it's proximity to my house and it's abundance of seating. Great place to study (if you don't mind a bit of noise; music, chatter). Seems like a great place to come and chill or chat with friends. So far I've loved everything on the menu that I've tried. Their milk teas and cha-cha drinks are good, and they give you options to adjust your sweetness level. Their boba is consistently chewy and soft (unlike some places where it's sometimes hard or clumped together). Their hot foods are okay: the pho-nomenal dip sandwich/ soup is great, egg rolls are good, kimchi fries are good, chicken is ehhhh. read more

I'm glad Magic Cup is located slightly further than the main Chinatown area. This place usually isn't too crowded (sometimes there's a short wait but it's not bad). And it's definitely easier to park here since they're located separately from other shops in the strip. I tried the nuoc mat here and fell in love with it and it's now my go to order. It is wintermelon artichoke iced tea with agar jelly, chia seeds, and grass jelly. It's very light and refreshing and I like the agar jelly that comes with it. The Vietnamese iced coffee is good here too. It's strong and not overly sweet. The only food I've tried here is the pho-nomenal dip and I gotta say...it was phenomenal! There are so many food and drink options here so you're bound to find something you like! Great option if you're on the further side of Bellaire and don't wanna deal with parking issues in other plazas. read more

Giving this three stars cause the boba tea is good, but service wise, don't go inside because you will deal with attitude from Jaslyn. If you're a snacker like me, then this is a great place for you! Magic cup serves your typical tap house favorites like popcorn chicken and squid balls, but they also have kimchi fries (that you can add bacon and/or a fried egg to), calamari, wings, and banh mi! My favorite drinks to get here are the fruit teas! They are SO refreshing! And I think Magic Cup is one of the only places that chops up their fruit small enough to drink through the straws lol. I also really like the artichoke drink - I know, sounds weird drinking a vegetable but it's sweetened and they add winter melon tea in it which is a nice twist. The location is a little out of the way of the hub of Chinatown but it's a nice, bright place to study and hang out (they offer board games for their costumers)! read more

Ah Magic Cup. I used to get the cha mango drinks here all the time back in Dallas. When I came moved back to Houston, I saw that there was one here too. Stopping by, this place was pretty crowded. The place was nice. There were tons of games that you could play while snacking and sipping on some boba. The menu was expansive with plenty of different types of teas, smoothies, juices, and shakes to choose from. I got the usual, the cha mango which was still good. Reminds me of my days back in Richardson. Overall, this place is pretty good. Not too authentic when it comes to boba, but if you're looking for something a little different, this is the right place for you. read more

This place is MAGIC! I want to live here and drink the coconut/taro boba (with tapioca) nonstop. Hands down the best boba my body has ever digested. The staff was amazing! The menu has a great variety of flavors to fit your boba needs. It's a cute little afternoon chill spot if you are looking to just kick back for a little bit. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the parking area. It felt small and too close to the turn in from the street. Other than that, I plan to come back and as often as I possibly can. Miss you already, Magic Cup. read more

Updated Covid-era review! After recently moving into the area I've found myself going to Magic Cup as my boba store of choice. I normally don't update my reviews unless my viewpoint of the place changes or it's been a good while, however, I felt the urge to bump up my initial 4 star rating. My most recent visit I wanted to redeem my free birthday drink(which btw totally sign up for their rewards with your phone # I highly recommend it). As they were about an hour away from closing and I didn't want to the *THAT* customer so I went ahead and called in my order letting them know I was about a 20 minute drive away. Quick, easy, effortless interaction. By the time I got there it was about 10:40 and there were a couple cars already in the drive thru(also SCORE! They have a freaking drive thru!!). I got to the window and while redeeming my free birthday drink, my roommate in the driver's seat jokingly made a comment about how my watermelon slushy was all melted at this point. I commented that I was totally okay with that and that I love watermelon juice! After finishing payment I guess the girl in the drive thru overheard my roommate's comment and apologized profusely and said they would remake it right away. She was super sweet about it and seemed genuinely apologetic. We told her it was totally okay but she still insisted they remake it. To be honest, the drink wasn't even that melted! Honestly I feel like that alone was truly going above and beyond. There were cars in line behind us and they were a good 10 minutes from closing but the attention and care she gave us for a FREE drink blew me away. Honestly if the quality of service isn't already good enough the drinks are amazing as well. Boba is consistently soft, chewy, and sweet. They use actual fruit for a lot of their drinks.(PS don't leave your watermelon slushy on your bedside table overnight and try to drink it in the morning) All the workers were wearing masks, gloves, and only the drive thru/takeout was open. I don't know what else you could want? I will admit the prices may be a little more steeper than other boba spots in the area, but you're honestly paying for quality here. Magic Cup has a 10/10 in my book. read more

let me say drinks are amazing but staff LACKS in training. Every time I come employees are rude and they just don't make me want to come back. Tasty, fresh, and an excellent value! Ordered a ton of drinks and snacks for the family. We got: avocado smoothie, mango/pineapple smoothie, cafe sua da, Oreo vanilla frappe, voodoo chicken, kimchi fries, magic puffs, and churros. Drinks: All the drinks were tasty, fresh, and huge. The mango/pineapple drink had actual mango bits (hard mangoes) and actual squished soft mangoes. Avocado tasted fresh and tasty, Oreo frappe was ok, and the cafe sua da was probably my favorite! Bitter, tasty, fresh, and probably the largest serving I've gotten for an order of cafe sua da. Snacks: voodoo chicken was not as spicy as I'd like but was still tasty and they were pretty generous with the basil, which I liked. Magic puffs were yummy and interesting, like little fried doughnuts. Churros were delicious. Kimchi fries were delicious as well and it tasted like actual kimchi which is oddly unusual whenever I get kimchi fries. Overall, we enjoyed everything and we will be back! read more
