Me and my friend was at the restaurant on 11/05/2022 for dinner. We had almost 1.25 hours before we catch our movie. We were seated promptly and greeted by a very smiley server (apparently), we mentioned to her that we have a crunch of a time and she made sure she will put in our order as fast as she can for faster service. My friend and I ordered two entrees - Rigatoni Arabica and Chicken Francese as seen in the picture attached as well as two cold drinks- diet and regular coke. We were then given breads and then our food those two entrees came out by the food runner in a reasonable amount of time. While we were eating we asked our server if she can bring our dessert- pumpkin cheesecake. It was brought to our table by the food runner again. While eating our cheesecake me and my friend handed over our credit cards to server for payment and asked for split of a check. She brought our receipt and the number seems odd with each of us charged $51.65, since it was the time of the movie we didn't pay too much attention offcourse out of trust of such a big name and also gave $10 tip each and left the restaurant. Same night when I got home I double checked the menu prices online and to my utmost surprise the bill seems 40 some dollars higher. Next morning I drove 33 miles and spoke with the manager. She went inside and then came out apologizing saying server made the mistake and she charged us Lasagna and Caesar salad with shrimps costing $42 extra. Manager explained server punched in someone else's food and said it was an honest mistake and then gave me $25 each gift cards and promises to refund our money, which wasn't done until yesterday (11/17), almost after three calls and 12 days. Im very disappointed with all this and questioned as to how come server punched in food on our table and food runner only brought the food out for what we ordered. How come kitchen didn't make that order and it didn't reach to our table if it was punched in for us in error???.. very very suspicious and on top of that server puts in 3 guests on our cheque despite the fact we were only two people. All I can say it was a serious fraud issue that this establishment is doing with its clients and perhaps server wanted more tip from us and knowing we were in a rush she could make us fool. I hope she is not working there anymore, and her name she said is "T" ( mentioned in the check pic attached), so please be careful and read your tabs carefully before paying. We ventured in on Father's Day after a movie and had a great lunch! We were seated immediately and greeted very shortly after!! Went here for Brunch. Got there early and got a table smack dab in the center of the dining room. My son, aka Mr. Picky came as well. Of course all he wants is French fries and chicken nuggets. Unfortunately, they don't have that for Brunch (as far as I know!) so he got the Chicken and Waffles with everything on the side. Honestly, it was the most expensive Chicken and Waffles I've ever ordered, $20! His meal came off the regular brunch menu and was the most out of all five of us. FYI: no brunch on the kids menu. Also, FYI: French toast is on Raisin Foccatuca bread. Anyways, a must is the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes! OMG So good!!! I cant even describe how a weird sounding food tastes so good! Peach Sangria was also very good! The champagne sits at the bottom though. Service was great! Ordered here the other night. Food was packed beautifully, so I was excited. I ordered stuffed mushrooms and shrimp diavolo pasta. The pasta was 1000% gross and included about a quarter cup to half cup pasta and a pound and a half of completely RAW shrimp covered in luke warm sauce as if it had never even been heated. I was truly and completely disturbed. I put in my order on the later side and assuming that whoever was cooking was ready to close down the kitchen for the night and simply did not care. I would have preferred the restaurant decline the order than have me pay $30 for a dish that was 100% inedible. read more

Simply put, our food was not good. And I don't like to waste my time writing about bad food. It's been a while since I've visited a Maggiano's and this was my first visit to this location in Springfield. Our waiter, Lamont, was awesome. In fact, he is the reason I gave this establishment 2 stars instead of 1. But I didn't come for awesome service. I expect that. I came for the food. I brought my family here to celebrate my Mom's birthday. We started with two large salads to share - the Caesar and spinach salads - and I also ordered the tomato, mozzarella and basil appetizer. They were delicious. My Mom ordered the sirloin, and the rest of us had pasta dishes - two orders of shrimp Alfredo, mom's lasagna and I had the shrimp scampi. My meal tasted as if it was cooked by an amateur chef. It had absolutely no flavor. My daughter enjoyed her lasagna. My other two daughters tried their Alfredo but there wasn't something quite right about it. My oldest stopped after three bites. My youngest was starving and ate half of it anyways but later vomited in the restaurant's bathroom. My Mom enjoyed her steak and in the end, it was her birthday so I was happy about that. Our waiter brought her out a candlelit dish with some kind of sugar cookies on it. They were doughy and disgusting. We sang happy birthday and my Mom ordered an apple crostada with vanilla ice cream. It was pretty good but with my daughter being sick and three out of five people being disgusted with their dishes, it made for a short evening. Unbeknownst to me, my youngest daughter (who vomited in the restaurant) brought home her leftovers. She then ate her leftovers two days later. I had to go pick her up in the middle of the night from a sleepover because she became so sick. So it wasn't her and totally her dish. After paying $200+ on dinner, I expected a bit more. 2.5 stars. I came here with a Yelp event and really liked their zucchini and bread and decided those two things were good enough reasons to take my husband here on a date the other night. To be fair, he really liked his food, to me however, if I can make the same (or better) at home I don't really see a point to come into a restaurant to eat. They were busy, as is most of restaurant row at the mall on a weekend, but we were able to secure a high-top in the bar area upon arrival, since they are first come-first serve. Our waitress was wonderful, she had an extremely infectious smile and made our experience a pleasant one. She was the best part of the meal, for sure! I had never been to Maggiano's before (chain Italian usually scares me) and so I asked for her preference between two veal dishes. My husband wanted a simple Spaghetti and Meatball and LOVED his dish, he said the meatball was well seasoned and liked that the sauce fared on the sweet side. I wasn't a fan, as I prefer a more savory marinara if given the choice, but to each their own. I ordered the Veal Piccatta which was extremely chewy, the flavor was almost there for me, but it was overcooked for my liking. The pasta on the other hand, which is apparently Barilla brand, was fantastic and cooked to a perfect al dente. The main reason keeping this from a solid 3 star experience is the Calamari. It was just bad. I didn't send it back because we were so hungry, but in retrospect I probably should have. It was so bland, all I could taste was oil. Thankfully each table at MLI has a salt and pepper shaker, along with Parmesan cheese and we were able to doctor the order to my liking... but I mean, yeah.. it was pretty bad. Also, the take home portion of Fettuccine Alfredo my husband got with his meal (bc apparently spaghetti and meatballs is buy one take one home) was also very bland. To the restaurant's credit. I did like how the take home containers had re-heating instructions though. I think that is a nice touch on packaging. In summation, I guess Maggiano's is very middle of the road for me. I'm not clamoring to come back, but I am not actively staying away from it either. read more

I went to this place for a friend's wedding dinner. And to be straight up I am not a huge Italian food fan. I am really use to food having more spicies and heat due to being South Asian. But i will say the food we got was honestly pretty solid. There pasta alfredo was great (really hard to mess up) but they did a great job. The grilled chicken tasted really good becasue they used some sort of sause that worked really well with the Chicken and surrounding veggies. There house salad was also tasty which was refreshing. And finally the dessert we got was a Chocolate Cake and MAN this WAS FIREEEEEE. It was like eating diabetes because of how sweet it is but man oh man i was extremely pleased haha. The reason i out Good instead of Great rating is because sadly feel like the cusinine is basic and again not much spicies and the menu pricies is expensive haha. I called and spoke with the manager who said he would speak with the general manager and the general manager will call me back shortly. Never got a call back. Another Maggianos at the rebuilt Springfield Mall -- was happy to have one closer to our area. Walked in excited and hungry....walked out truly disappointed. The one at Tyson's has much better customer service. When we walked in, the place was busy. There were a few families waiting to be seated and 3 employees at the counter; yet none of them greeted us or said hello. I asked what the wait was for 2. The person who addressed us was neither friendly or courteous. At this polnt, 1st impression was not good. At around 630 pm, the wait for 2 was 30-40 min. So we inquired about seating in the bar area and found 2 open seats immediately. We ordered soup & salad for me and a pasta dish for hubby. They gave us our drinks timely and offered to bring us some bread. The bread finally came out after a 10-15 min wait along with the salad. Soon afterwards (less than a min later) my husband's pasta came out. I finished the salad and my husband ate half the pasta and still no soup. So we inquired about it. When they brought a bowl out---it was the wrong soup. Eventually, they brought out my order. However, the soup I tasted was not the tomato basil soup which I often order at Maggianos. It had a very hot and very spicy flavor. After checking with the bartender, we were informed that they only served 2 types of soup...the one they brought out initially and this one. After another taste, I was truly disappointed and the bartender was kind to remove it from our bill. Waiting for our check is another story. I like Maggianos overall. I hope they improve the service and quality in this location. Next time we'll be driving up to Tyson's --- it's a bit further, but the excellent customer service at that location is worth the drive. read more

I am never disappointed in this chain restaurant. The food is greasy and fatty...and I love that about this place. The service is great! People are friendly and super upbeat. They really make sure your order comes out on time. Today, the chef came out and gave us a few words of welcome. It really makes you appreciate the food on a more personal level. I was really thankful for the hard work that the chefs put into making our food. The layered chocolate cake is on the bitter end and not sweet enough for my taste buds. I have a huge sweet tooth so if you really like non sweet deserts then this cake is for you! This chocolate cake is truly a great way to end a heavy meal. read more

Maggiano's is one of the most welcome arrivals at the newly opened Springfield Town Center development. I'd been at one location before, near Richmond. I was eager to now try the Springfield one. It did not disappoint! Maggiano's features Italian-American cuisine. The variety and taste are great. Portions are ample and there is always some to take home for later. Susan and I first ventured here ourselves. I ordered Gnocchi and Italian Sausage as a main with an Italian Salad to start. Very light. The gnocchi were a bit different than I've had before, smaller and less dense. Maggiano's offers a Family Menu from which a group can order several appetizers, mains, and desserts to share family style. This seemed like an ideal way to have a family New Year's Day dinner. Six of us gathered and ordered Calamari Fritté and Bruschetta appetizers, Italian Salad to share, and four mains: Spaghetti and Meatballs, Gnocchi and Italian Sausage, Mom's Lasagna, and Chicken Parmesan. Two shareable desserts followed: Chocolate Zuccotto Cake and Tiramisu. Even with six adults, there was more food than could be consumed. Our server was happy to bring an ample number of boxes for everyone to take something home. I have a future lunch ready! The service has been very attentive on both visits here. Highly recommended. It has proven popular, so reservations are recommended s well. We've been back again and I am a huge fan of Maggiano's. There was ample for all to take home something for later from the Family Menu. On another visit, I ordered from the On The House Classic Pastas menu. I had Spaghetti to eat then and a full Taylor Street Baked Ziti to go. We stopped in yesterday for lunch because the food court area was beyond packed. It was also the perfect time to get the family to try calamari m. We were seated promptly and our server came over and took our drink orders. The bread here is actually pretty good. I don't think I had any bread my first time visiting a Maggiano's. Unfortunately most of the calamari was a bit chewy, so I don't think my family would ever try it again, but the breading was delicious. My daughter was not happy with her meal as she thought it was extremely bland. She ordered the kids meal of chick breast, broccoli and mashed potatoes. She used the table's oil and Parmesan cheese to make the broccoli edible. I ordered the Asiago crusted shrimp with a side Caesar. I would have liked the cream sauce to be a little less lemon-y and the breading a little less crispy, but it was still pretty good. My husband ordered the Tucsan chicken and shrimp and he really enjoyed his dish. Overall, it was a decent lunch. read more

I started going to this restaurant at its' Bethesda location for our annual Christmas party. When my agency moved to Springfield we found one at Springfield Town Center. That was great news. Maggiano's has excellent Italian food. The servings are large enough that you will be taking food home no matter how hungry you think you are. It is great value. And the ambiance is subdued. You can hear people talking at your table. I highly recommend it for special events. read more

I had a bad experience at another restaurant at the Springfield mall. While waiting for a to go order Mo Ktiri the banquet and beverage manager noticed that I was not in a very good mood. He not only stopped to make sure I was getting the proper service but apologized for the other restaurant and made sure I was taken care of. Mo is an assets to your staff, he is a keeper. read more

My go to restaurant when I'm craving Italian comfort food! You can't beat their selection of food. At maggiano's you go big or go home! My absolute favorite is the meal for two with takeouts for later, what a phenomenal deal. They have a wide range of appetizer to choose from, their calamari is pretty awesome, not to greasy, and comes with a marinara sauce on the side. I am a sucker for their lasagna and spaghetti with meatballs, can't get enough of either! For dessert I always go with tiramisu for the ultimate Italian fest. Best part is that I get to take a full dish home! Gotta love this place! Service is constantly good, even tho they stay pretty busy most of the times. This is one of the best experiences I've had at a sit-down restaurant in awhile. The waitor was so thoughtful, friendly, and helpful. (Wish I remembered his name so I could shout him out) the food was great, real authentic Itallian. They have a deal where you can get 2 pasta entrées, a dessert, and then 2 more pasta entrèes to go all for $50! I came here during a weekday dinner. There was 6 of us including 2 kids. Although there were tables available, they told us that there wasn't enough waiters/waitresses around. So we had to wait 30 minutes to grab a table. Even when we were seated, the service was slow. Some of the things that didn't sit well with me was that orders were not taken well. Items were forgotten and we had to ask again. The food sure is a lot, but a lot of pasta noodles that lacks flavor. The meatball was huge and tasted so cheap. Went on a Sunday for my mother's bday. They offered an option for all you can eat but also a la cart as well which is pretty cool. The dish I got was Chicken Francese eggs Benedict which was served with potatoes and I also ordered an additional side of Fruit & Yogurt parfait. The parfait was $7.50 which I thought shouldn't cost that much. Overall the whole meal was portioned very well. It will not leave you feeling hungry as well as not feeling super stuffed. Side note* Just don't eat a lot of the bread they give you before the meal. The reason for 4 stars was the time stamp on the food arrival. It definitely took over 30+ minutes. DEC 2017 My family goes here often, and the service isn't usually bad! The food is decent. I really enjoy their carbonara and mushroom ravioli. My one real complaint is that we order a lot to go, and almost every single time, the order is messed up. The amount of food also sometimes comes as a surprise to me since I expect it to be the same serving as dine-in. Just this weekend, we had two boxes to go for beef papardelle and neither of them had any beef in it. It was all onions, which is quite upsetting. FEB 2018 One of the worst service I've ever received here. I don't know why my family keeps coming here for events. We had a number of complaints! 1) Service was SO slow. Our waiter wouldn't come back to us until a good 20-30 minutes each timed so we're just sitting there waiting. 2) Never filled our water. 3) Messed up one our to go orders. 4) Clearly did not put in our dessert order or forgot to give us our desserts because we waited there 25 minutes and he came back to ask how we were doing when we were just sitting there and we had to state we're waiting for our dessert. 5) Messed up on our receipt and overcharged us for dessert. 6) Did not bring out birthday treat even though I told them it was my mother's birthday. read more

The pros: *It's a la carte so you don't get locked into paying $30 for a buffet filled with food you wont eat. *The rolls are so additive. *The sparkling sangria was great. *The eggs were amazing! They were fluffy but cooked fully and not over salted. They melt in your mouth. The cons: *my pancakes were enormously thick and tasteless. There was a gritty consistency similar to cornmeal. Sad to say I was disappointed. The waiter was friendly, but the service was slow. I'm not sure why since the restaurant wasnt packed. The bacon was thick, but not worth $6 for a side. Overall, I think I'll stick to lunch or dinner. I do enjoy their baked spaghetti and fried zucchini. I appreciate them providing brunch options, but please note this is not a trendy brunch spot. We ordered Moscato with our dinner, but when it arrived the glass had a peculiar scent to it. We realized the scent was dishwashing soap and there was a soapy film on the glass. Our waitress was nowhere to be found and we had to get the busboy to find her. When the waitress FINALLY arrived after ten minutes, we informed her of the scent and had to explain repeatedly the danger of consuming alcohol with dish soap. When the seriousness of the situation dawn3d on her, she replaced the wine and claim3d to have reported it to the manager, but the manager never came to our table to talk with us and offer their apologies. In addition we were charged for the tainted wine on our bill. This was very poor customer service and we do not have any intention of returning to this location. read more
