Build your own bowl
Jasmine M.

I had high expectations for this spot since it had been on my list for a while. The location is great, the staff were friendly, and the restaurant itself was clean and pretty quiet when I visited. I usually go for a build-your-own bowl, and since I was feeling a bit indecisive, the employee was helpful in guiding me through the options. I ended up getting the pulled pork with sweet potatoes, lettuce, veggies, and bean salad. I also tried the sriracha honey and avocado dressings on the side--the sriracha honey was definitely my favorite. That said, the food overall was pretty bland. Even with the sauces, it didn't elevate the bowl as much as I'd hoped. I'm guessing it's on the healthier side with less sodium than what I'm used to, so I can appreciate that to some extent. I'd give Maepole another try, but I'm not in a rush to go back.

Stopped here to grab a quick dinner last week. This was my first time at the Atlanta location. It was delicious as always! I got a bowl with chicken, greens, mac and green beans! The Mac is always a must for me! Great spot for healthier food !

Fantastic healthy build your own bowl place in Summerhill. The food, ambience and staff are all 5 stars 5 star food: Game Plan bowl is a pre-selected quinoa bowl with acorn squash chunks, green beans and a siracha sauce. It was amazingly good, and I confess I'm gonna try to steal the recipe and make this at home. LOL 5 star service: the open kitchen has a bunch of very friendly folks. My Apple Pay was acting up on checkout and they were sweet and helpful 5 star ambience: outside it's a very cool strip of Georgia Avenue in the Summerhill section. They have outdoor seating at picnic tables to take in the neighborhood vibe, but it was a little cold out so sat inside. Inside there's a sleek warehouse-y vibe.

Maepole was just okay. There were no flavors in my bowl begging me to go back for more. Their sauce was good and I like their healthy ingredients. It was very quick to order. Overall it's okay but nothing to write home about.

SWEET POTATO, BRAISED BEEF, MAC & CHEESE, ROASTED RED POTATOES

Unfortunately I have to be honest here: this one of most dull meals I've had all 2025. As someone who is constantly on the move, I appreciate the grab-and-go style of eateries, or as the kids say " corporate slop bowls". I was in the area when I realized I had this place on my list of restaurants to try. I ordered a bowl with the sweet potato which I think was the "base", braised beef, mac and cheese, and roasted potatoes. Immediately noticed how my order was unappealing to look at. The orange and brown-ness of it all was the only cohesion the dish had. These flavors did not meld well like a Chipotle or Cava bowl would. In fact, this entire meal lacked flavor entirely. I was pretty surprised that an eatery in the south could serve food that lacked any punch. The braised beef lacked any personality (and salt) which was the main protein. I think the mac and cheese might be the real offender here. It must be a vegan rendition or perhaps it's made with wheat pasta and some sort of alternative cheese, but it's nothing like I've had before, ever. I did enjoy the drink, I believe it was something with ginger, but sadly it wasn't sealed tightly and half spilled into the bag.

I was invited to try this shop online so I wanted to make sure I still had an honest review. Maepole is truly so cute and has amazing food. The bowl is super filling and everything I tried was delicious. I would definitely come back on my own time in the future. The staff were super kind as well!

Tried the Box Car on my first visit. Pork, sweet mashed potatoes, green beans and macnchesse. Awesome. I would order again and get the sauce on the side. So many other options to try. I want to try the summer salad next. Looks refreshing and healthy.

What a great addition to the Summerhill neighborhood. I've been wanting to try Maepole for the longest time since I frequent Summerhill for the other food options there. Decided to give Maepole a shot and ordered for take out. The online ordering was easy breezy. I opted for the build your own bowl with half brown rice and half greens, carrot salad and broccoli as my sides with shredded pork and topped with ranch. Within 10 minutes of ordering, it was ready for pick up. Even pick up was easy breezy! It was a good-sized portion and reasonable for the price in my opinion. The brown rice was slightly undercooked, but that was fine. It had a healthy serving of pork and sides. It was very tasty and would be frequenting this place now that I've tried it. I love that you can locate the nutrition facts on their website and caters mostly to those with food restrictions.

Everything was flavorful and did not disappoint. I also enjoyed an espresso martini, and my mom was treated to a birthday dessert featuring white chocolate blueberry cheesecake. I loved the ambiance, the spacious bar area, and the outdoor patio. This was a new-to-me spot that I'm glad we tried for a special occasion! It was so good and we had such a great experience that we went back again a few months later to celebrate my aunt's birthday. This time, we had a big party and were able to make a reservation. The restaurant does a great job of accommodating big parties, and I believe they also have a private room. Our waitress was Maddy, and she was exceptional. She did a great job with our party and was very patient with us. The second time, I ordered something different and got the pasta. We all got a variety of different dishes, appetizers, and drinks, and everything was immaculate. I would definitely recommend Park 82 to others. The food, ambiance, and overall experience are exceptional. I love that because it's very hard to find quality restaurants these days. Definitely a spot I'd return to again!

There were no Brussels unless they were minced up in there, but there were mushrooms which wasn't listed on the menu. However, it was a tasty dish. It was the best thing that I ate that nigh (A). For entree, I ordered the Risotto minus the peas. It came out like a cream soup with very little risotto, the asparagus was the stringy ends, and it was extremely bland. The server agreed that it was soupier than normal (F). Lastly, I ordered a Southwest Salad to go. I ate the salad the next day at home and it was fine (B). Service was friendly. The establishment is cute. I would not return but others said that they would.

I really appreciate that they were able to do this. We were sat inside right next to the window, which is what I had requested in my Open Table reservation. I'm so happy that they were able to grant this special request! The river view was absolutely gorgeous. Our server was great and the food was yummy. Highlight of the meal was the cheddar grits that was served with the chicken! I would skip the caesar salad though as it was pretty bland. At the end of our meal, they brought us an anniversary treat which was ice cream. :) You can also take a little stroll outside in the beautiful outdoor area that brings you to the river. There are benches and areas for relaxing outside. I highly recommend coming here if you're in Atlanta. It was a little ways away from where we were staying downtown, but I definitely think it's worth a stop.

And she took our whole order then brought out things in the order that they felt it would be best enjoyed which was nice. And recommended a wine to my friend to pair with the food. The meal started with the beet and goat cheese salad and that was one of the best things I've eaten in a long time. Then the kangaroo which was tasty but maybe a little overseasoned with black pepper - it left a lasting black pepper back of the mouth spice after we finished that both of us didn't love. And the veggies served with it were really really tasty but both of us wished there was more of it. The duck was tasty as well but it felt small for the price tag of $50 (2 slices of breast with lots of the shredded duck leg). It gave a deconstructed Peking duck vibe with the crepe and sauce. Once again we loved the veggie sides but really wished there was at least double of the carrots and bok choy to lighten the dish. And the duck n beef burger (the whole reason we came after seeing it on a food network show) was good but kind of underwhelming. The burger itself is fantastic but the bun is too big and feels like it's that big to be a filler not to compliment. And the fries that came with the burger were so salty we barely ate them. Overall we enjoyed our meal but with all of the fantastic restaurants in Atlanta neither of us are sure we'd make it back to canoe. If we do we'd definitely order ever salad on the appetizer menu first and foremost.

My friend and I wanted to try something different, and when she suggested Boxcar, I literally asked, "Where is that?" She pointed out that it was in the same area we'd been standing in countless times. For anyone visiting for the first time, it is a little tucked away past the food hall. You'll also need to walk up a set of stairs to reach the restaurant, which is worth knowing ahead of time if stairs are inconvenient or inaccessible for you. Once inside, I really liked the atmosphere. They also offer outdoor seating, but with the Georgia heat that day, there was absolutely no discussion--we were sitting INSIDE. Our server was Najah (please forgive me if I'm misspelling!), and she was AWESOME. Such a warm spirit, great energy, and exactly the type of person you'd want greeting you whether it's your first visit or your tenth. Since this was my first time, I asked for recommendations. We started with the Boom Boom Shrimp from the happy hour menu, which is available Monday through Friday until 7 PM. The shrimp? 10/10. No notes! For our entrées, my friend ordered the fish and chips, which she loved--and it came with hush puppies, so really, how could you go wrong? I ordered the Bourbon Bacon Jam Smashburger, and it was cooked perfectly. I don't even remember being asked how I wanted it cooked, but somehow they knew exactly what needed to happen. And that bacon jam?! I LOVE a sweet-and-salty combination, so it was right up my alley. The fries were fire too, but apparently I was feeling a little greedy because I noticed mac & cheese on the menu and decided I needed that as well. LISTEN. I would've been perfectly happy if somebody had taken away everything else and left me alone with that mac & cheese. It was THAT good. Easily 20/10. I actually had to ask Najah who made it because I needed to understand what exactly was happening back there! She told me about the chef, who is Caribbean and from New York, and as someone with Caribbean roots who is also from New York, I may be a little biased--but suddenly I understood why that mac & cheese spoke to my spirit the way it did. I've literally been telling people about it ever since. There's still so much on the menu that caught my attention, including the lamb burger, Brussels sprouts, short rib, and several other dishes. I've included a picture of the menu because there's definitely more exploring to do here. As far as seating, Boxcar seems pretty versatile. There were just two of us, but there's plenty of indoor seating along with bar seating, and I could easily see a group of around 10-12 being comfortable. I also noticed what appeared to be a separate space toward the back that may be available for larger gatherings. Between Najah's wonderful service, the atmosphere, everything we ordered, and THAT MAC & CHEESE, Boxcar absolutely earned a return visit. I've already been bragging about the mac & cheese to everybody who will listen, so now I'm looking forward to finding out what I'll be bragging about after my next visit.

The salad... I wasn't at all a fan of the dressing. It was very vinegary and pungent... not at all balanced. The frites were cooked to pure perfection; however, they lacked seasoning. The steak... this is where I was totally disappointed. While the steak was cooked to the right temperature (medium rare), it was sooooooo chewy, no marble... I found myself spitting out tough parts.
