Well, I found my inspiration at York Vision. First, their inventory is VAST. I don't know if I have seen such a selection in my life. Brands i've never heard of, styles I've never seen. The sales associate (forgive me sir, I have forgotten your name) was super respectful, gave us space, shared information when necessary, and proved to have a wealth of knowledge over the materials. He also helped us with payment information and ways to seek reimbursement from insurance. I was on a time crunch, leaving the state in 14 days, and was concerned I wouldn't revive the glasses in time. The associate offered to ship the glasses to me if they did not arrive before my departure, but was pretty confident that they would arrive on time. I purchased them and provided my prescription, and within an hour, I was on my way with my new glasses. Although I liked how they looked, something was definitely "off." Although my prescription had not changed, the glasses gave me headaches. I thought it was because their fit was a bit off and were pinching the cartilage behind my ears. After having them adjusted a couple times, it became apparent the problem was that the bridge of nose being too narrow. The great thing about Eyemart is their 30 day guarantee. So I went back and tried to find a different pair. I spent probably an hour and a half to two hours trying on nearly every pair of glasses in their store. Sarah was super helpful and tried to help me find glasses, with no success. Obviously, I'm too picky. But every pair that I liked were too narrow and the pairs that fit, I hated. I gave up and left. I ended up buying a pairing of frames elsewhere and returning to Eyemart to return the glasses. In order to process the return, you have to go to the same location you originally purchased at and the store manager must be present, FYI. I had no problems. The one thing that lost them a star for me was customer service. Don't get me wrong, everyone was very helpful and friendly... but I was in their store at least 6 times over the course of 4 weeks and despite the fact that I interacted with the same people every time, they never seemed to remember me and I would have to explain myself from the beginning every time. Regardless, there is something about getting a pair of glasses same-day for an affordable price. I wouldn't rule out coming back here when I need my next pair of glasses.

My husband and I actually booked back to back appointments. I haven't been to the eye doctor since I was in 5th grade, mainly because I claim to have perfect vision, but after not being able to see (especially while driving) my family banded against me and made me go (insert mad face). And I'll admit, i was mainly not going because I thought it was because I was getting older and/or possibly because I am scared to death of that eye puff machine. Basically I'm Rachel off friends in the episode "The One With Joey's Big Break" and also where Rachel goes to the eye doctor, gets some drops and everyone has to hold her down to put them in, yeah that's actually based on my life story. ANYWAY -- the doc tells me the eye puff machine is old skool and that technology is no longer in use. Now they use these super high tech camera things and it's not *as* scary. After the camera screenings etc. the eye exam was where I seriously almost lost my shit. Dr. Guappone 1) looks like Bill Nye. 2) IS THE SMARTEST MOST ARTICULATE MAN ON EARTH (well at least in the eye doc world). He didn't give me some BS medical terms. He actually broke down what was wrong in terms I could understand and even demonstrated on a model, and as a visual learner I was super appreciative of this! Also as others have said, he is very thorough. When I started off my saying I was a perfectionist, he went on to say he was too - and hence the through exam to make sure that the exam matched up to the camera readings. I just could not believe the amount of time he took to explain both to me and my husband about our situations, preventative health, and plan moving forward. It was a breath of fresh air and seriously eliminated (well almost) my fear of going to the doctor. I cannot reccomend him enough! The only negative and -1 star. I felt like the glasses selection was a bit outdated. They had some trendy designers, but not nearly enough or in the styles I wanted. Although the young man helping me was funny and enthusiastic I was put off by how insistent he was when trying to get me to purchase glasses through them. I literally just learned I needed glasses, if I have to wear them on my face every day - I want and need to find the ones I actually like! And again, as a perfectionist do some reserach first. In fact, it was condescending and argumentative. I have seen similar reviews and can confirm that this new policy of a strict ten minute grace period was never communicated or shared. In fact, our normal notifications and calls to remind us of the appointment was never received. It's a shame. Dr. Baik is an excellent provider, but this one staff member's negative interaction has ensured that no member of this family will ever return. I'm not sure what happened over the last year, but this is not acceptable. Stay away. I cannot recommend.

Overall, that experience has been good until my recent pair of eyeglasses. The eyeglasses were purchased two years ago and the anti-reflective coating has completely broken down (see attached photo). When I showed them to the office manager, I was asked "did I leave them in the car"? The answer is "no" but not sure why that would matter since I was not advised to avoid leaving in the car. She was quite brusque and offered no explanation for what is obviously a substandard (manufacturing defect) with the lenses. I have checked prior glasses from Clarkson and even though older, they do not exhibit this condition. She informed me the warranty was one (1) year and offered standard pricing on a pair of new glasses. All in all, poor quality and customer service provided to a long-time customer. My recommendation is to ask questions about lens warranty and anti-reflective lens durability if considering purchasing eyeglasses from Clarkson. Other eyeglass sources may seem more expensive in the short term but likely provide better quality and durability.

It was anything but routine, as she inserted another patient's lens into his eye, which was discovered during his 1week follow-up visit. She completed the replacement procedure for the wrong lens, but his cornea was scratched & iris torn during the process. A Midwest Eye Center Director performed emergency surgery later that day to avoid infection of the eye; and was under the Director's care for the next few weeks to monitor his eye healing. My husband is currently under care with different eye specialists as he slowly recovers. As Dr. Naqvi smiles confidently from the front cover of Cincinnati Magazine's 'Cincinnati Top Doctors' and on its pages. One has to wonder how she can be deemed "the best" having compromised her patient's well-being through a poorly mismanaged process of care.
