Can they give shots in eyes?

No, they are optometrists. Only Ophthalmologists can give injections to the eye.

Deceptive Billing Practices…read more I am extremely dissatisfied with this business due to two separate, highly deceptive billing incidents. Issue 1: Preemptive Overcharging During my initial eye exam and contact lens fitting, the staff overcharged my credit card by $40 above my insurance copay ($70). When I questioned it on the spot, they claimed they "preemptively" charge extra in case insurance denies a claim. After I insisted my maximum copay was $70, they agreed to a refund. However, they claimed that because it was a Saturday, they would process the refund during the work week. Instead of the promised refund, they ultimately forced a store credit on me. Issue 2: Surprise Billing I scheduled a follow-up appointment because my trial lenses were blurry, and I confirmed over the phone that this recheck would be free of charge. During the exam, the doctor asked a few questions about dry eyes as it could be the reason for the ill-fitting lens and offered to recommend drops. Later, I discovered they billed me for a separate "dry eye consultation." I was not informed that this would be the case or made aware of the relevant charges. Had they been transparent, I could have had the opportunity to accept or decline. When I disputed the bill, they claimed they had to charge me because I did not have medical insurance on file, which misses the point entirely. My main objection was that I had not been properly informed beforehand. They refused to remove the charge and kept my previous $40 credit to cover it. In my opinion, this office engages in deceptive billing practices by adding hidden fees without clear patient consent. I believe converting a free follow-up into an unapproved medical charge is a breach of professional and ethical standards. Avoid this provider if you expect honest pricing and transparent communication. [EDIT] Response to the business owner's reply below: Josiah Y., I do not agree with your assessment of the situation. I scheduled and arrived for a standard, complimentary contact lens recheck. An eye examination is a necessary part of that specific service. Expecting a patient to actively refuse an examination during a recheck appointment just to avoid unapproved charges is completely unrealistic. The core issue is a total lack of informed consent. I was never told that the nature of my visit had changed from a free recheck to a billable medical consultation, nor was I informed of any additional fees. Because I was not given the opportunity to consent to these charges, I dispute the examination fee and request a full refund.

Instead of making me feel like an imposition, Dr. G made me feel like a special guest in his office.sat there half expecting to be offered a cup of tea and some scones. My eye exam was thorough, and I was given a ton of information on how to improve my eyesight through exercises and better computing habits. I would go back just for fun if my insurance covered it. Update: I ended up buying 3 pair of glasses with the help of Brandi. She is truly the Queen of finding glasses that suit a person's face and personality. My friend came with me when I went to pick up my glasses and he was so impressed with the service that he decided to book himself for an eye exam and get himself some new glasses too. True story.

I recently moved to Cincinnati and needed a new optimist. After conducting research for about a…read moremonth, I landed on Dr. Hamillton, Hyde Park Optometrist. My eye exam was the MOST thorough and Dr. Hamilton explained every step with precision and humor. Importantly, I learned why eye glasses ordered from lesser committed "eye professional" offices do not work as prescribed - they are made with inferior plastics - something you will not see endorsed from Dr. Hamilton. Only the best because he and his team truly care about their clients wellbeing. My research paid off and I hope this review helps you on your journey to find the right optometrist. Truly an exceptional experience!

We're new to this experience.. both in our mid forties and hubby noticed a change in his eyes. He…read moreneeded readers and convinced me to tag along to get an exam with him. I was well aware that my vision was no longer 20/20, but I'd never needed to wear glasses... until now. Our insurance is solid. They cover the full exam, frames up to $130, and basic lenses. We opted for an enhanced view of our eyes which was $30/ each. We sat with Erica to pick out our new glasses. Erica was extremely helpful and gave great insight... but be careful of the up-sale. It happens before you realize it, and her reasoning makes soooo much sense. We could have walked away paying $30 in taxes, and for our enhanced exam but wound up spending over $400. Overall we are pleased with our glasses and our experience.

One thing that did bother me though is that after spending $300 on two pairs of glasses, literally the day after, I am not able to adjust my order or pay more to switch my glasses to polarized lenses. They expressed that I would need to jump through hoops and do a returnwhen mind you, I was just in there yesterday and had decided not to do polarized lenses yesterday, but decided today that it may be a better idea to get them and was willing to pay the extra 100 something dollars for to add those to my glasses, but they expressed that it would be too late and that I would have to go through a whole refund process after waiting two weeks for my glasses. That part didn't really make sense to me because I feel that someone can just pick up a phone and call and charge me extra for it, but the lady over the phone expressed that I would have to go through a "whole refund process" that she made sound excruciating even though I am the customer and that is what would make me happy. Again, Dr. here is very nice and friendly, but I probably won't return in the future as I know there are other places that would accommodate me.
