Disappointed, because we really liked the selection of merchandise. The store is dirty, dated and smelled awful. The fitting rooms and washrooms were worse. The staff was inattentive and disengaged; staff member refused to move in order for me to get into the smelly fitting room. At checkout, there were 3 groups waiting, staff member said she couldn't call for help because the phone doesn't work! Will avoid this store. read more

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about Macy's, especially this store. The selection is so hit or miss, as are prices and their endless sales (and size 3 font exclusions). Staff are just as hit or miss, which makes it a really blah experience. I'd rather buy online or elsewhere. read more

Went here to do a quick exchange for some toddler outfits that were gifted to my newborn daughter. I was in and out in no time and the sales Associate Joan was very nice. I would've shopped for the appropriate size but I had a 3 year old and 2 month old with me, so Macys.com will suffice read more

This is the worst Macy's I have ever shopped in. It's filthy! The shoe department has shoes and garbage strewn all over the floor and piled on chairs. I told the manager I was appalled and she said someone called in sick. No excuse. 1 person would have made no difference. Then 2 weeks later , I was shopping for a dress and again, piled of clothes on the fitting room floor and people were walking on the clothes which Im sure eventually got rehung and were our purchased as new. Disgusting! Never shop there again. High prices, filthy store, ruined garments sold as new? No thanks! read more

Macy's can be a little expensive so make sure you never shop without someone who has a credit card account with them and a bunch of coupons. The have men's wear on the first floor and women on the second. Find the branded section that fits your style and shop for the best bargain. My most recent trip here I was in search of some wingtip dress shoes, but they didn't have any. The gentlemen in the shoe department helped inform me to which other stores in the mall might have the product I was interested in. read more

Tried buying nikes here Was told I could only get the shoe from someone in the athletic department by a lady in the women's shoe department which is right next to the gym shoes. only person I saw was the cashier... He helped but they didn't have my size and didn't seem too concerned to look for it for me in a different size. I left... I'll purchase nikes somewhere else. Awful customer service. read more

I've been here a couple of times its not the best and its not the worse. I've been to the cafe in the basement the food is alright. The Mac and cheese and potatoes are pretty good. The enchiladas are decent but the food always looks like its been sitting there all day. This Macy location is pretty clean customer service kind of sucks. You could be walking pass associates looking for something in the department and nobody will ask if you need help. read more

I would like to comment on the exceptional service that I received today. I walked into the Clinique's cosmetics counter, and was warmly greeted by Heidi. I explained to Heidi what my needs were, she was very helpful, knowledgeable and kind. Heidi was able to give me explanations of how to use each product and their benefits. I purchased 4 items, my dollar total $99.00. I also questioned Heidi on future purchases for foundation and powder. Heidi recommended one specifically for my complexion and skintone. What a pleasant experience, I will return. Thank you. read more

Went to macys at woodfield mall for a Lancome event. What lovely elegant and classy women that work at Lancome. Had a facial by Z and makeup by Carrie and consultation by Katelyn. Brought my 25 year old severly disabled son with me and they were all so wonderful and caring. They kept an eye on him while i had my facial. They insisted on helping me. Thats what going to beauty counters should be all about helping women feel good. I sure had a lovely afternoon and learned so much about my skin care since i have lupus i need all the help i can get. Excellent customer service by all the women at Lancome and very knowledgeable. I will definitely go back to Lancome at woodfield mall. Katelyn is my new lancome girl. She is so sweet beautiful and helpful. read more

About a week ago, I visited this Macy's because I needed a new pair of dress shoes. Compared to the ones in Chicago, this particular Macy's was rather small. When I was there, I got distracted by the suits. I wanted to try one of them but could not find my size. I asked a worker there and the worker went to check. I waited for about twenty minutes and saw the same worker bringing out a suit for another customer. I asked her again and she went back to check. After about five minutes, she returns again with a pair of pants for another customer. I asked her again and she went back to check. After about thirty seconds, she returned and told me that the store did not have my size. Annoyed, I left the suits area and headed toward the shoes area. I got sidetracked again. I looked at shirts and ties. I could not find my size again so I asked one of the workers there. She hesitated for a moment, asked the worker next to her, looked into the register, and walked over to the shoes department. I followed her. At the shoes department, she introduced me to another worker and went back to her area. The worker I was introduced to went to check in the stockroom. After about a minute, the worker came back with the shirts in my size. I thanked him and looked at shoes. In general, this Macy's carried a lot of stuff. A few of the workers were very kind but most of the workers seemed to be in a bad mood. read more

I go here often, and I especially love the downstairs where all the kitchen items are. I was looking for an extra bowl for my kitchen aid mixer. I asked one of the employees, Donna and she helped me out a lot. She went digging around in the stock room for me and found the bowl I really wanted. She was very pleasant and eager to help and my day much happier. :) read more

Macy's may be a total cluster, but at least for men's clothing there are always deals to be found. And you can either call me cheap, or informed... but I have a hard time forking over money for designer labels that are going to be on sale for 50% off in a couple of months. But with Macy's it seems like it's almost impossible to walk in there and not find some sort of sale. read more

I don't know why the ratings for this store are so low. I like this Macy's just fine. They have a great selection of clothes, shoes, make up, and home products for women, men, and children. I have been here many times and have never had a bad experience. I will definitely be back. read more

I was leery to come here and register with my fiance for our wedding. I had it in my mind that Macy's was strictly just for snobs. We were definitely proven wrong! Sure their fine china is ridiculously expensive and we would never purchase it for ourselves (or expect anyone else to get it for that matter), but the staff was beyond friendly and the whole experience was highly enjoyable! I even learned that their prices are quite fair on most things, and Macy's does tend to have some pretty good sales every so often. I would definitely recommend this location to my friends looking to register for a wedding, housewarming, or any occasion, really! read more

The people working at this Macy's are not that professional. This may have something to do with the fact that I used to go to the state street Macy's when I lived in downtown, and became spoiled. In terms of variety, there is not much for mens clothing, shoes, or anything else. The only section I was a little pleased with was the formal-wear section for men. read more

I ordered & paid for a shirt online & went to pick it up...and ended up at the store for almost ONE HOUR. Only one person working the online pickup area despite the long line and the holiday season. After waiting 15min, I got my order...I ordered a black shirt, and she brought out a red sweater. She was able to confirm that my actual item was in the store...but despite 3 more employees coming down (one a manager), no one was able to walk up and grab it. I finally ended up returning it, walking upstairs to get the d*** thing myself and buy it. Sticking with Nordstrom from now on! read more

I left the store angry and frustrated after having to stand in line nearly 45 minutes to return one item. As I was waiting, I noticed a couple of young women who mentioned they needed to do something about the long line. Saying thank you for your patience or something on that order wasn't cutting it for me. After awhile one of the "managers" returned to assist the cashier by folding the customer's items as they were rung up. Brilliant idea Watson! I understand the idea of social distancing for the employees as well but come on...could Macy's management not figure out a better physical solution to address the Covid recommendations and still keep their customers happy, even reasonably happy?? I will never step in that store again! You've lost one customer and I'm sure many more frustrated and dissatisfied customers. I wouldn't be surprised if you become another on-line only store. Your customer service alone will drive you into the abyss of former brick and mortar stores. read more

Used the personal shopping service at the Woodfield Macy's to get help finding appropriate dresses for teenage girls for a wedding. Wow - great job! This is for the shoe dept. At 10:30 this morning not only could I not find help, once I tracked down the guy he kept bringing out boxes of the wrong shoes. The area by the Finish Line gym shoes is like a dead zone. The carpet is so dirty, no one is there to help. Garbage over flowing, indifference by sales associates, so sad. They make it actually hard to do business with. What a buzz kill to having the time off to shop, buying the thank you reward program and no one helping. If you go to the watch section or nicer jewelry section totally different experience. Nice, attentive, alert. The inconsistency within feet of each dept is remarkable. read more

I was at Macy's looking for fall jackets. They had some clustered in a specific area, but others were scattered throughout the store in the brand-specific areas. I focused on one rack... it had a sign saying 15% off if you get a Macy's card. Another rack had 15% off the tag price, but the tag said it was already 15% off. Is that with or without the Macy's card?. Very confusing. I looked at their website, it says nothing about the card, but you have to input a code (easy to find) to get the sale price. Many racks had wrong size jackets on the hangars (which are marked S-M-L-XL). Some racks had mixed brands and styles and they are overloaded. They are crowded together, you have to squeeze between some of them. I walked away and went somewhere else. read more

This is the dirtiest Macy's with the poorest merchandising and cleanliness of the store I have experienced. The women's restroom on the 2nd floor is disgusting with only 2 of six stalls open and no toilet paper in those that were functional. No Soap at the sinks, dirty floors, etc. The dressing rooms not much better with merchandise not put away. Hard to find someone to help you even when you want to buy something. Macy's has become like Walmart in terms of its approach to marketing and customer service but I think I'd give Walmart higher rankings! It is sad to see what this company has done to drive away formerly loyal customers to a Marshall Fields. No excuse. No wonder retail stores can't compete anymore. They have lost touch with what people want and expect out of a store experience. Shame on you Macy's. You get what you sow!!! read more

$$ Great store, with good selections and a lot of everything! Probably best location in suburbs after Oak Park's! Ornaments for Christmas are VERY NICE! However, since I have a cat and kid, $50 dollar ornaments from Poland are too expensive for me. I don't want more broken ornaments, as some of them, and even nicer ones, have broke. Their other selection is good too. Better than my nearby Gurnee location. read more

Poor customer service. I went there to purchase a fragrance for myself. I did research and had three candidates and all were on the Macy's web site. I went there to smell the three and pick one. Asked the counter girl to smell the first one and she has me trying other ones that I had no interest in. Finally she lets me smell the first one. Then I asked to smell the second one. She seemed upset that I wanted to smell more and said that they don't carry that one any more it's an old fragrance. She points me at another counter and tells the girl there that I'm just browsing. I left and went to perfumania located just a few stores down. Got great service and purchased three fragrances. I will never go back to Macy's again. read more

I don't shop at Macy's often, so I can't really compare this one to other Macy's stores. I'm writing this review just to say that I always appreciate the great service I get when I go to this Macy's. The worst department store experience of my life. Cashier did not know what she was doing and double charged my card instead in of preforming an exchange. Not enough inventory...Everything is buy online but you cannot tell what you are getting without actually seeing the merchandize. Some days the prices are high so there is free shipping and other days when the prices are low then you pay shipping. I miss Macy's in Manhattan with 9 floors of inventory. The stations always have someone to help you in NYC. read more

I ordered an expensive Coach watch online and sent it to the Woodfield store to pickup. Once I arrived in the Jewelry department at Macy's Woodfield, it was swarming with customers and almost no employees. I waited about 30 minutes being walked passed and ignored by the few employees I could find. Finally after half an hour, I got an employee to make eye contact with me and acknowledge that I existed. I told this employee that I was picking up a watch I ordered and they sent me to Fine Jewelry, and that's when things went from bad to so much worse. Once in Fine Jewelry, there were about 25 customers and one employee. This poor woman was doing the best she could, but it was clear Macy's horrible management and staffing skills was taking a toll on her just as much as it was us. I waited and I waited and I waited and then waited some more. After waiting for an hour, I called the store asking to speak to a manager-- I figured maybe I could get someone to come down and help out while I was waiting in line. I was put on hold for 5 minutes and then was hung up on. So I called back. Once again I asked to speak to a manager and once again I was put on hold and hung up on. My friend was with me so she volunteered to try and find a manager while I continued to wait in line. After 30 minutes she came back, told me she found the manager of the entire jewelry department and that the manager of jewlery told her, "sorry I can't help you." At this point it became clear we were at the mercy of Macy's. I would have just left but they already had several of hundreds of my dollars. I simply wanted my item, but was stuck there. In the end I was in the store for three hours. THREE HOURS!!!! Just to pick up a watch. And of course, once I got my item the box it came in was damaged, but I wasn't about to waste another 3 hours trying to get that issue fixed. This store is a disaster. Do yourself a favor and just avoid it all together...there's absolutely nothing they are offering consumers that's worthwhile. read more

I came in to the Eeste Lauder stand to get matched with the perfect foundation for my tan skin and left extremely satisfied. I had a flight to LA that evening so I came last minute not sure if I was going to be able to find the perfect shade. Yellina (I hope I spelled your name right!), however, attended me quickly and introduced me to 2 more products (bronzer and Night repair oil) and was able to match me perfectly. I have a darker skin complexion and it is very difficult to find a shade that doesn't wash me out nor is too dark, but she made the experience a pleasant one. Definitively go to her and listen to her recommendations as she knows what she is doing! Thanks! read more

I am not a person who writes online reviews often but I had to share my experience in the men's suit department. Simply stated - it was appalling. We purchased a 2 piece suit for my son. When we took it to be tailored, the tailor said the jacket would cost more than the original price to alter. Took it back to Macy's Schaumburg to return where I encountered the RUDEST people I've ever met. The pants still had the original tags but my son removed the jacket tag. The pockets and rear flap were still sewn shut. The employees refused to work with me - no exchange, credit to my Macy's card or store credit. Scott, the department manager, said they would not be able to sell the jacket if it was returned - even though I could point him to jackets in his department that did not have original tags. His tone was rude and obstinate. I will never go back there again! In an environment where department stores are shuttering their doors perhaps Macy's should invest in customer service training for their employees! read more

You people are all nuts that say Macys doesnt have a good selection...not a good enough selection for you? Then lose weight! Sheesh. I always find what i am lookign for, PARTICULARLY at Woodfield Macys! Need to return something no receipt? Not usually a problem...find a cute outfit for my kid, not usually a problem (I will admit their infant section can sometimes be picked over)...and find something for myself? No problem! I always manage to find something here! Especially in the Junior's department. There sales are spectacular, sometimes I find some really good deals. And their stuff is quality, its not going to fall apart after a few washes...they have designer brand names, and also lower-price brands that still allow us ladies on a budget to be fashionable! :) Im a fan! read more

Huge macys with an optical shop and a starbucks. This is the best Macy in Illinois.

They don't always have the most associates available to help, but they are very easy going when it comes to their return policies.

Once again, I went there to return something and got there at 10:00 a.m. when it opened. There were already 8 people in line and only one person working. I went shopping for a little bit and decided to come back to return my item when I was leaving, about 30 minutes later. At that point, the line was even longer with about 15 people in line and still only one person working. I do not understand why they can't call for backup and more help or why more people are not scheduled to work on a Saturday morning. This sounds like a management issue. Like many other department stores, it's only a matter of time before they go out of business if this is the qaulity of customer service they provide. The displays and piles of clothing were also extremely messy and disorganized for having just opened at 10:00 a.m. Clearly the closing shift the night before did not do their job. 1 It's really disappointing how the quality of merchandise, organization, and the management has really gone down hill since Marshall field's closed. read more

I have been waiting for an answer or solution to my problem. I ordered a leather ottman and a wood and leather headboard from the State St. store. My saleman was Orlando---nice man. I saw an add in your Memorial day flyer for $100.00 off the ottman and an etra 10% that would be $130.00 approx. I have called the manager at Woodfield becuase I stopped in there that weekend while visting my sister in Hoffmann Estates and was told by the furniture dept. manager Becky at ext. 6205 and was told she would take care of it---never heard anthing from her---II got my charge statement a week ago--didn't get the discount. Made sveral calls to Becky and never heard from her again--very unproffessional!!! Called your customer service department after asking at the Stae St. store said she couldn't do anything for me---Call C.S. and I did--talked with Francine--very nice--but never received a follow-up response either---I opened a new charge with Macy's a month ago--but if this matter doesn't get resolved---I'm cuttin' it up-----you advertise but you don't stand behind it---I just saw the ad and it's your ad in the newpaper---you write it to get sales, but you don't do what you say your doing. FALSE ADVERTISING IS NOT A WAY TO GET MORE CUSTOMERS-IT DRIVES THEM TO OTHER FURNITURE STORES. Frustrated and disappointed---surely nothing like Marshfield's was. Customer service at Macy's in Woodfield was so bad! I work customer service myself and I know the way I was treated was unacceptable. First I walk in there is no line. The woman just looks at me, I say "Do I walk up?" And she just nodded. So I go up she doesn't ask why I'm there, I go ahead and let her know I'm picking up an online order as well as show her my phone with the barcode. Mind you at this point she still hasn't talked to me. Instead of talking to me she was talking to a co worker. Anyways she scans my phone, and walks to the back to get my comforter. She then comes back up points at the credit card machine. She doesn't not verbally tell me to sign. She only points at the machine as she continues to talk to her coworker. As I sign for my comforter she set the comforter on the counter and I ask. "Is that it?" Again she nods and I leave. The wntire time she said ZERO words to me. She was too busy talking to her coworker about getting a birthday present that did not seem to cheap. They know who they are. They worked on 03/14/2019 around 10:30ish. read more
