I'm a huge fan of Torrid, and one of the things I like about this location specifically is the size of the store. The Kildeer location is closest to me, but this Torrid is at least 2 - 3x bigger. It's near the mall (IT IS NOT IN THE MALL, IT IS ACROSS THE STREET BY THE CONTAINER STORE!!!), so I can understand the increased traffic being worthwhile. I stress the location, because when sent here from another store, I was just told "the Woodfield Torrid" - I fought for a space, and then pulled up a map of the mall to find out the location and discovered it was across the street. Wah Wah. On the upside, being over by the PetSmart, The Container Store, and Nordstrom Rack means getting in/finding parking is so much easier, as is leaving. So far, I have only had the opportunity to pick something up from this location, but I absolutely plan on going back in January to redeem my Torrid Cash! read more

I tend to avoid shopping in Cook County if I can go to the same store in Kane or DuPage, because of that dreaded 10% sales tax. But, for this Torrid, I'll make an exception. There's so much more room to actually shop at this store! Fox Valley and Yorktown are so much more crowded and difficult to navigate. I could comfortably browse with my friend while other people shopped the same racks. This is an impossible task at other stores. I stopped shopping at Torrid for awhile, because it wasn't my style. It was too young, trendy, and leaned toward goth-rocker-nerd. Or, the fashion-forward styles were just "off." With plus size clothing, there's always a weird piece of lace or a strap placed somewhere strange, an awful empire waistline, a neckline that's too wide, etc. However, Torrid's style has evolved and includes extra-long soft basic tees and sweaters and work wear like pants and blazers. I have wider hips and a belly, so I love to shop for nice blouses here because they fit my shape perfectly. They've won me back as a regular customer. I like the basic tees (so soft!) and sometimes the clearance rack is a great deal (Buy 1, Get 2 free on my last visit). I found one of my new favorite winter/spring sweaters here, a lightweight soft gray sweater with a cream colored blouse underlay, adorned with a bow in back. The size range here is broad, with options from size 10 to size 30. They have their own size system, size 00 (I think that's a 10) to 6 (size 30). The employees are friendly too. Torrid is the only place that has swim tops that fit me (I am a little larger than normal up top). This location has a very big selection and a great staff! All of the ladies here were very friendly and helpful. I tried on just about every swim suit in the place and they were very patient with my 100 trips in and out of the fitting room. The only thing I can say bad about this store is that the back half of the store was mostly clearance and there seemed to be no organization in it at all. While the front of the store was very organized and laid out the clearance was a mess with no sizes, like styles, or even similar clothing items in the same area. read more

The employees were so friendly. I asked Crystal, who was the fitting room attendant, to give me an honest opinion on the outfit I chose, as I was going on a date the next day. She was friendly and sweet and told me I looked great. The cashiers were also quite pleasant and gave me some tips on how to pay my Torrid Credit card online via their ap! I bought one (very specific) item here. I went in with a mission to find this specific item and was helped by a wonderful sales associate named Jennifer. She was very compassionate and helpful without being overbearing or loud or condescending. I love that I went in and was treated with respect. That being said, she knew what I was looking for and let me know to take my time there was no rush. She made helpful, but not ignorant or rude comments. She knew what I tried on and gave her honest, truthful input... and she was right 100%. Staff is awesome, in all the times we have gone, we have one very minor issue, which we were able to work around without significant difficulty. My GF is the kinda gal to bring 30-50 items with her into the dressing room, and then adjust sizes as we try things on, and all that fun stuff. The staff is friendly, supportive of males being in the store, unlike an LB I was at once before... Clearance section is the biggest in the state I think, so it's worth the drive if your a torrid shopper. And that's all I am saying because if I hype up the store too much, all the good stuff might be gone, when we make our occasional trips over there! LOL!!! I'll admit I've only been in a torrid maybe 3 or 4 times as I've always been on the cusp of fitting in their clothes but recently I've found their clothes to be a good fit. I've gained weight but I don't want to wear a moo moo. And this store is great because all the clothes have STYLE! I went in today, very frustrated, to get my money back on my pants that had holes in them. It turns out I had 2 of the exact same type of pant and BOTH of them and both of them had many, many holes in them. I walked in angry and wanting my money back and never wanting to shop there again. Went in just to look around ended up spending over $100 but then realized that I didn't have my Torrid Card with me. The cashier who was already being rude literally rolled her eyes at me and grabbed the phone to look up my card number. I've done retail work before and calling in to get a number is not a big deal, seriously! They had a mess by the registers and kept talking about personal inappropriate stuff in front of all us customers waiting. Nice!... I am in Schaumburg every few months for work and I always make sure to stop here. The ladies that work at this location are phenomenal. They are fun, kind, down to earth and don't seem like they are just trying to make a sale. They are great about helping me find pieces (they picked out my engagement pictures outfit). I have had to return 2 items due to holes and the staff at this store as well as the online customer service was outstanding. It's so amazing to find a store with plus size clothes that are still fashionable. Five stars for everything about this location. Love this Torrid! Really spacious, which is great since I usually shop with my mom, who uses a walker. Super friendly staff. Every time I go there, the girls are more than happy to help, check on you while you're trying clothes on to see if you need extra sizes or anything, always go the extra mile to try to help you get the best deals possible, and are really personable. I love this place and the ladies that run it. Yea it can be pricy but the quality of the clothing is worth it. The ladies there running the store are the absolute best. You can walk in here alone and the moment one of the women start helping you it instantly feels like youre out shopping with your best friends. When trying on clothes they hype you up with that "YASSS GIRRLLLL" and make you feel like youre doing the cat walk. Lol. This store is so under staffed. It is unfair to the employees. I spent 15 minutes in line to be told an item that was in the regular priced section just got out on clearance and no one had moved it. I went back to find two more items to complete the discount and when I go back in line one item I chose was not on clearance and put in the wrong section. I only go to Torrid for the shoes because it is very expensive, and you can find just as good plus size clothes at Forever. My beef with this store is the staff. Although they are friendly, they are extremely unprofessional. They spend quite a bit of time chatting with each other about work/personal issues while customers wait to be helped or to check out. If they aren't ignoring you, they are hounding you and basically won't leave you alone to shop. I understand they work on commission, but I don't need to be asked how things are going every 2-3 minutes. They are the pushiest sales girls I have ever met. It's too bad there's not another torrid near me, but they are in need of some new management. Bottom line: An air of professionalism is needed here!!! read more

A+ for friendly staff at the Fairview Heights, IL location, (although a little pushy) but I'm pretty sure I will not buy clothing here again. I spent $150 on a basic summer dress, a belt, and a short cardigan. When I took them home and studied them, I saw the "made in China" tags and got skeptical. The dress fabric is single seamed, cheaply. I haven't even worn the it yet but one pull of a string on the bottom, and it started to unravel. This dress was $58 folks, a very basic, short olive dress. I will never make another purchase here. I should have gone across the street to Ross and gotten the same dress, same cheap quality, at a quarter of the price. read more

I went inside this store because my daughter-in-law stated that this store was very large and they has a nicer selection of clothes, that was true. We went there to shop because I did not want my Haute Cash to go unused. One sales clerk were very friendly helping us find different items that we were looking for. Upon check out C. Priscilla waited on us and boy did this chick have an attitude I don't know whether it was from the weather or she gotten some bad news but her attitude need a adjustment. Her first question was how we would be paying for the items and was we using Haute Cash, I answer Yes that I had Haute Cash, she said that she needed them. I was not near the counter because I was still looking for a pair of jeans. When I reach the counter and pull out the Haute coupons she counted them and stated the amount I had to used, that was not the problem the problem was the way she said it. Then she started checking the items out that when everything went up into the ceiling she stated that I could not use the coupon on items that was on clearance I said ok so my daughter-in-law separate the items, then she said that we could not use the coupons on any promotion items, ok, after all this she gave us the total I did not say anything at this time I was looking inside my purse for my wallet all of a sudden she asked would I like to put some of the items back. No, I was just knock off my feet by this remark what makes her think I wanted to put anything back just because the cost was in the hundreds of dollars. I came into the store to purchase these items I had a lots of Haute Coupons if she was thinking straight she should have known in order to have as many as I had somehow I had to really been shopping before this day. This is the torrid I always shop at. The employees are normally very nice and friendly. But today I go in the store and Nancy(an employee) is joking about being shot by the cops. Telling the other employee that went to get coffee that the cops were looking for her and she was surprised she didn't get shot. With everything that is going on these days, why would you even joke about that? If you want to joke about it in the break room that's one thing, but you never know how people were affected by the current events. I have shopped at Torrid for years. This time I went to Schaumburg's location. I had a rather large amount to return and I know that can be annoying. I did however keep over $300 worth of clothes from my online purchase but about $200 worth was going back. The cashier acted so annoyed and rude the whole time. When she was done so handed me my receipt and when I looked at it she rolled her eyes at me. Don't offer online shopping if your staff doesn't want to deal with returns. read more
