01/24/21 - Neither my wife or I have been to a Zara before. My wife and I were at Woodfield doing our own things. She called me and said there was a long line at Zara & she was near the front of the line. Out of curiosity I moseyed on over. We found out that Zara has their annual sale this time of year in January. Evidently a lot of people knew about looking at the line outside of Zara waiting to get in. When I got there she was a couple of people from the front (great timing). It's not like I needed anything but I thought what the heck why not take a look. When we got into the store I quickly looked around the store front to back and noticed that they had nothing but women's clothes? I asked someone if they had men's clothes. They mentioned that the men's section is on the other side of the cased opening. As I perused the clothes, shirts (don't need any), pants (don't need any), coats (don't need), Just kind of killing time while my wife was shopping or so I thought. That's when I saw a long hooded winter coat. I have a heavy wool coat that I use when I get dressed up and play adult to go out but it's seen better days. I wanted & needed a long warm winter over coat. I found a coat that I really liked and best of all the price was reduced to $69.99 reduced $100 from the original price. The only problem was the zipper was jammed & wasn't working properly. I tried 3 different coats before finally finding one that works. I did find a salesgirl named Adi that was very patient & helpful w/trying to find a coat w/a zipper that worked. When we came out of the store there was a long line of people trying to get in. Like I said this was the first time I had ever been to a Zara store, but I'm glad I stopped in despite the issue w/the zipper I managed to buy the coat and at the same time I saved $100 read more

I have worked for this company for three years and I would say the fashion aspect is very amazing and worth investing in good quality materials, but when it comes to this company since it is ran by Israel and fast fashion is their motto. I would prefer quality clothes over quantity that just fall apart easily and not them having a campaign just for a moment to "teach" customers how to sew/mend their brand new purchased items, which is something that everyone should know how to do, but I shouldn't have to purchase a new wardrobe that only last barely once when I wanna keep them for a lifetime and when it comes to managing staff/training new employees. It's like throwing dogs into the wolves, especially on sale days WS/SS(winter sale & summer sale) where we are the most busiest and a company that wants to push for inclusivity, diversity and mental health most people that have worked there that I have seen only want to cause drama(unprofessional) about old useless arguments that has to do with personal reasons and a lot of bickering, but I would say I did love the hospitality of surgeon employees and I have seen good wholesome customers come and shop with us as well. It was also nice to assist them during work travels, but not when it came to only sending a few people to try to help stores that are absolutely falling apart other states just make a quota w/ extremely low staff members. Caring about the human being comes first, not dragging them to the ground to be the next carbon machine. Thank You. read more

Good jeans...Otherwise, Zara needs to step up their game. The fitting rooms should really be back open. It's way overdue, I hope corporate is listening. The cash wrap is sooooooooooo slow too. You have to stand in line for way too long! There are only three registers and on my visit, only two were open. There were two dozen customers in line. The male cashier was organizing hangers rather than work with customers. I mentioned the line was very long. He said he could see that. I said maybe the hangers could wait. He told me I could wait. I said hopefully you're not the manager, he said he was. I asked to speak to a manager on the way out, I wasn't him, but she offered no apology and simply said, I'll talk to him. Disgusting service! Get with the program management. Not sure I would return...other then to return what didn't work out. So annoying! read more

Worst costumer service I've ever experienced, love shopping at Zara but after this experience I will think twice about shopping there. Needed help returning some items and the manager/employee there did not help me. Gave me no options on what to do as I don't live in a state that has Zara and had an item to return for a smaller size but they did not have it at the store. When I was told it was at a different store they said they couldn't separate it for me or do anything and it was up to me to if I wanted to go get it. I also had a different item without a receipt and they said I couldn't do anything or use my credit card as evidence. Worse experience and will think twice about shopping here again. Agree with the other reviews! Lines are unacceptably long!On top of that, you have to walk around the store to find an open cashier. The staff is not that friendly.  If you're in a hurry, give yourself extra time. I'm sorry if you 4 registers open and this huge line, you had better open the other registers! Love their clothes so. The two girls running the fitting room were giving such mean girl energy. They didn't smile at all or say hello and acted as if working is an inconvenience for them. In my way out I handed one of them a piece of clothing that I didn't want and I said thank you quietly and she grabbed it from me and as I was walking out she loudly said "YOU'RE WELCOME" in the rudest way. First of all, I said thank you to you and second of all, don't be such a mean person. I don't recommend this Zara and especially don't recommend using the fitting rooms here . read more

I love Zara the clothing is always beautiful and I like to treat myself to a few pieces whenever I have the means to do so! HOWEVER the employees are the worst! They never even say hello or ask if you need help they could care less about doing the bare minimum! It makes me want to take my business elsewhere! It's not that I need help or anything but at least smile and have simple manners they never say thank you or welcome! Just awful and I wish this was one time instance but it's not! Horrible customer service during my last two visits and dealt with the same cashier. I purchased a haul of clothing and when I got home I realized two of the garments had flaws, one had holes in the delicate fabric, and the other had a subtle black stain in a stripe along the back of the top. I visited this location to try to exchange my purchase as I no longer had the receipt -- the cashier was very rude to me regarding the store policy, which I was never made aware of to begin with. He basically let me know that I was out of luck unless I could exchange the garments for the same exact product, which they no longer had in stock. So I asked him again if I could please have store credit? And he was again, very rude and said no. Not once did he apologize or try to act like he cared about this situation. Not even when he scanned the bar codes and saw that there was no more stock on the garments I purchased. I never write reviews like this, but I have been in the hospitality industry for YEARS and I have never in my life treated a customer the way this man treated me. I left the store in tears after realizing my only option with the ruined garments was to toss them in the clothing donation bin. I contacted corporate through their website but I doubt anything will come of this. Just felt like sharing my experience since I can see there are a lot of other 1 star reviews here. read more

This location has a terrible management, on Sunday 09/25/22 they decided to open at 1pm instead at Noon. Previously, about a month ago went in to return a purchase on line and lines were crazy long, it took 40 min of standing in line to do a return! If you buy something in store, you can't try it in the store because the fitting rooms are closed. Once in a while fitting rooms might be open, but the wait in line to get to try your selection is terrible long. If you buy online, to avoid the hassle of the store then they charge your card multiple times, they can't get taxes right, so they double charge. Their clothes are pretty modern, but the hassle for shopping in the store or online is not worth it. read more

I went in to return an item. Walked up to the cashier with my bag, placed it on the counter and politely told her I had a return. "You got a receipt!?". I replied that yes, I had a receipt and it was in the bag. "Take your items out of the bag!". Seriously? WTF do they pay you to do, ma'am? Just bark questions and orders at customers while batting your half glued on dollar tree eyelashes!? Zara, either pay your cashiers enough that they actually want to be pleasant and do a good job or get rid of them! This place has been getting worse and worse. I have visited this location three times in the last three months and each time their fitting rooms were closed. This is the only location where they have there is no fitting rooms available at all with the sign saying that "fitting rooms will be closed today" and they suggest to purchase and return within 30 days. Looking at reviews, fitting rooms have been closed for a long time. This location is messy and disorganized and I was there an hour after opening. I was in line for about 10 minutes to go in the fitting room. There was so many people out of line "in the way" and no one said anything to them. An employee waited to yell at my partner and I to move out of her way . Even giving me a fitting room was such an inconvenience for her. I've never received this type of customer service. I bought a coat and such fast workers I been to so many Zara shops before and this is the best one so far

Shopping at this store is extremely discouraging. If I could rate it a ZERO I would! There were only 2 cashiers and a line of 20 or more. The return policy is utterly ridiculous. It's the only store that asks for an actual credit card to do a return for original payment when the code is on the receipt. They pushed the return store credit only to me. I told them I only wanted the return on my credit card. It was the second time I tried to return on one day and went the previous day but had to leave because the line was incredibly long! There are no dressing rooms open either. Why is this? Most stores now have their dressing rooms only. If they don't require a mask why don't they open the dressing rooms. Personally I will never shop at this store again. The online site to make purchases is a mess too! Zara does not want to truly satisfy their customers if they don't go out of their way to serve them. It was an extremely frustrating shopping experience at this store. I definitely do not recommend it! Go elsewhere! read more

Horrible customer service, it is seriously the worst experience. I went shopping with my mom at the Zara location in Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, IL USA. Worst manager- just the most unprofessional way to treat customers. Rude, felt like she shouldn't be answering questions, looked annoyed. She did wrong the first transaction because of her attitude. When confronted she didn't even TRY TO LOOK AT THE RECEIPT, she tried excusing the over price because of taxes. Good thing I did know why the price was wrong- she rang up twice the same item. Like come on! If you hate your occupation so bad go back to school, learn manners, and get out of the retail business. Zara get some customer friendly employees, do better screenings or pay them more so they don't look so miserable. Store never opened. Waited 45 minutes and no one ever showed up to open the store. I confirmed with the mall that the store was to be open- customers waited outside- but the doors remained locked still after 45 minutes of waiting. Saw someone inside the store walking, so even more confusing as to what was happening. It seemed a number of people called the store as well, and no one answered. The customer service including the managers is "the worst" I have experience is a long time. They lied, they treat customer in such a poorly way that makes you wonder why this global brand can continue growing. I have bought in many different Stores including other countries but this one make the most discussing experience not only in Zara but in all the retailer stores I have been. Currently I'm making the line at the store and even if I'm the 12th person on the line there's only 1 person at the register. If this place it's getting this much business maybe they should have more people at the register taking care of customers since the ones fixing clothes around the store are not really helping much. read more

I came in for a refund today 08/08/2017. I had the receipt and bought it less than a week ago. However the tags had fallen out, so she gave me attitude and didn't issue a refund. Are you kidding me? Zara at Woodfield mall has the worst customer service ever! 99 % of the employees there are lazy and have an attitude, why are u working with customers if you act like u hate people? They never ask if you need help. There is always a long line in that store because there is only one cashier open, and the rest of the employees are socializing with eachother and hiding in the back by the fitting room. Once i heard a lady asking if they can get another cashier to open because there was a long line and she said no and went few steps away and started laughing with another employee. Had to wait in a HUGE line to get into the store. I understand this as there are regulations in place due to COVID. But they are SO under staffed here. There were only 2 people at the register in Women's and 1 person in mens/kids. So then I had to wait in line AGAIN for another 20 minutes. I'm so disappointed. Probably won't be coming back to this location. How are you going to have one cashier and 15 people in line? I don't understand. I just got out of line in left. So angry and frustrated. My daughter bought clothes at this location last week with an old credit card. During the week, she received a new credit card because the old credit card had been compromised. Mind you, it's the same credit card account, just a different number stamped on the new card. When my daughter went to return the clothes, she did not receive a refund - she received a store credit. This was because she didn't have the old credit card with her. She did have the new card with her. They said that because the numbers didn't match on the two cards, she could only receive a store credit. She also returned clothes to JCPenney and Lord & Taylor. Same circumstances with the card. Those stores gave her the refund, no questions asked. We will never buy anything again at Zara. This also includes Forever 21. Cheap stores that won't return your money. Who knows if that's where my daughter's credit card was compromised to begin with? Shameful and disgusting. read more

Calling all suburbanite fashionistas! Zara is one of my wife's favorite stores to shop at, what is nice about this location besides that it is at Woodfield Mall is that it has a nice clean open floor plan and women's, men's, and kids are all on the same level. The prices are reasonable for most things but my wife usually goes for things on sale, dresses, basics or sometimes a nice statement piece. Some Zara don't have sale things and this one does. All in all glad Schaumburg finally has a Zara, so while driving around the kids in the minivan you can look fierce! You better work it (three snaps)!!! read more

The manager Victoria is inconsiderate and doesn't act like she really likes her job. She was rude the whole time I spoke with her. The man who was working at the register was getting called out by the other sale associates about how he had so many snack wrappers and how he should be eating during break which I felt pretty uncomfortable that he was eating at the register when we should be keeping our mask on and not eating. Went in on a Monday to find me a classy wool coat for the upcoming Easter Sunday holiday. After browsing for a while, I finally managed to find a beautiful one in my size. It was a bit on the pricey side (140$) but the fabric and quality was outstanding. Figuring that I have absolutely no church coats and that i'm in desperate need of one, I decided to go ahead with my purchase. As i'm standing in line waiting to purchase the coat, I start noticing little rips and threads coming out from the jacket. And I thought well i'm going to have to pay more money to get this mended? better check to see if they have a new coat in back. So when it was my turn to check out, I politely showed the rips and threads sticking out to the associate. and I said, could you please give me something off of this? its going to cost me a lot of money to mend these rips and threads. She wasn't hesitant to say "no we cannot give you anything off" so I told her i'm paying 140$ and you can't give me a measly like 5 dollars off?? (it was never about the money really, it was just plain customer service and being courteous, to understand the worth of people's hard earned cash going to a damaged coat) "no we can't" the manager was standing right next to her just staring at me. are you not going to say anything??? just gonna stand there and gape at me?? thinking i'm not noticing??? so already a bit frustrated I said could you check if you have a new one in back? "no we do not" felt like I was talking to a wall. I work my bum off at my shitty SHITTY job, barely making 150 a week. I spent my entire paycheck *literally* so that I at least will have one damn coat for Easter. and you didn't want to bother yourself.
