Also like Rachel's class, but the time interferes with another class that I take. The Zoom classes are very convenient and well taught. I don't even have to watch it, just listen to Thomas' very specific instructions. His yoga has helped heal every injury I've had. Broken leg, 2 broken wrists, hip joint problems, and kept me healthy since he opened his studio. Much more so than physical therapy or Dr recommendations. Recently drum, gong, and singing bowl sound meditations have been added approx. monthly. Love those too and wouldn't miss them for the world.

I met Thomas many years back when he was just teaching and now he owns the studio. He is very nice to work with but I prefer a more vigorous work out without high impact and Lucien offers the perfect balance. I get a great workout without impacting my "old" joints. He helps my neck and low back pain issues as well. I like Ji Woo's sessions as well but it doesn't fit my schedule. It wasn't easy to find at first because signage was not helpful at first, but the studio is in the back of an office building and you would miss it if the sign was not outside. I don't know the other teachers but everyone has their own needs and I would definitely recommend trying the studio out.

Every class is unique & very effective in relieving physical & mental stress. I feel so light, flexible & breath easily as I leave class each time. Highly recommend classes, workshops to deepen practice, reduce stress, burnout, & energize all aspects of life. Best part is that the teachers here really enjoy supporting our growth & healing journey, no matter what our goals are.

I would say that I…read morehate calming down and I take offense when people tell me to "chill out" or "stop stressing out". Obviously things build up and I needed a way to release all my pent up stress, anxiety, nerves, emotions instead of channeling it back into activities. I found Body & Brain Yoga on Groupon (they currently have a 10 sessions for $39.00 special). Body & Brain is incredible because it focuses on the meridians and energies of the organs, using ancient Far Eastern concepts on energy. I did a private session today with owner, Julia Chung and I just signed up for more classes. Julia is a kindred spirit. She's highly educated (PH.D./engineer) and left her cushy corporate job to pursue her soul's passion. She's really funny, really smart and incredibly compassionate. She's also a Life Coach and is patient and an amazing listener. I'm so thankful to have met her! As for the class. The "wooden pillow" class was interesting. It's definitely different than anything I have taken before but it's a lot of meditation, breathing, and using a wooden "pillow" as a massage tool. It's kind of like "myofascial release" in personal training where you use a Styrofoam roller to target key muscles and your lower back/temples. Julia also uses aromatherapy in her classes and ends each class with a circle and healing tea. The entire session was perfect because my stress was gone and it was a different experience than traditional gym (running/lifting) as well as Hatha yoga. I definitely recommend that you try it because it's an experience that I can't describe. I look forward to trying the other different classes (they have tai-chi, dahn yoga, energy classes, etc) and learning about new ways to not only de-stress but also get in touch with my true self!

She quickly assesses the abilities and needs of each new student, then guides them on individualized paths of learning and self discovery. Her classes are always therapeutic--never about driving students to attain some arbitrary or out-of-reach goal. Perhaps even more amazing is that she accomplishes so much of this personalized instruction through the live Zoom classes she offers almost every day of the week. The classes are small-group, allowing for chats before and after the session. For students who are seeking even more customized lessons, Shana offers one-on-one sessions in person. She has helped me address numerous issues related to mobility, posture, and pain over the past few years. I can't recommend her highly enough.

Ever. At yoga of all places?!? I arrived early to figure a log in issue, so I could sign up online. I had not been able to log into my account after attempting several times at home and also there. In front of the class she stated that there was something wrong with me, and not the computer. I'm tech savvy, it was the archaic website. Simply put -- I was there for yoga, not to be berated. Central Street Yoga is not a place to practice yoga if the owner does not care about exercising kindness to those who support her business, or anyone for that matter. This attitude exemplifies everything yoga is not. Unless she's in a good mood or likes you, her mission below is not in practice. Kindness wins every time. The world gets better when these small things are handled with grace, not hostility. Namaste. "Our mission is to provide an environment for you to explore inner peace, creative expression, and to cultivate a deeper sense of you through yoga, meditation, and mindfulness."

I'm not going to say that I was EXTREMELY reluctant to take classes at a studio which not only…read morepromotes contorting your body in ways you otherwise thought impossible, but also does it in a minimum of 100 degree temperature. But I was reluctant. That being said, they do offer a FREE WEEK OF UNLIMITED CLASSES, and I just can't help myself when FREE is involved. So, naturally, I signed up. What can I say, I'm hooked. I am. I feel better about myself when I'm dripping in sweat, I suppose. Try this, folks. Trust me. You just need to experience the first week and you'll be sold. So reviews you can use: Location: It's located on the back outer edge of Old Orchard Shopping Center, so parking is VERY convenient. INTERIOR: Seems small when you walk in, but this place has full-service locker rooms for men and women. The women's locker room has all you need. Lockers (must bring own lock), showers, bathrooms (duh), and...hair dryers, brushes, mousse, gel, hairspray, hair ties, bobby pins and cotton swabs. If you go before work or another engagement, you can ready yourself right there and then. Sweet. STUDIO: The studio is dedicated ONLY to hot yoga practice, so the rooms are set up with built in humidifiers. This is a plus, I've gone to other hot yoga classes when mini portable steam machines are used and its just not the same. INSTRUCTORS: Super nice. Emphasis on the nice. They are informative during class and assist you with positions when needed. They walk around the room during classes to check that everyone is in correct alignment and are extremely accommodating to those who need to regress to easier positions. Honest, I've been one of those people, so I know firsthand. I have to give a special shout out to the location manager J.S. (you know who you are). You're sweet, pleasant, understanding and an excellent instructor. Thank you. OTHER COMMENTS: THE LEMON/LAVENDER TOWELS!! Good Lawd. This, I recently learned, is unique to suburban locations only. At the end of each class, when you're not really sure you'll ever be able to walk again (or dry off the sweat for that matter) the instructor walks around a places an ice cold lemon/lavender towel on your forehead. After my first ever class, I teared up. No joke. It's orgasmic. I say that with all seriousness. Unlike smaller "non-corporate" studios, here you have to pay for towels and mats if you forget yours. So, if you're trying it for the free week, either borrow a mat from a friend and remember to bring a towel (and a bottle of water) or the FREE will be null and void. There's also apparel, mats, towels and lotions available for purchase. The prices are just as high as one would expect, so bring your money if you a ready to invest.

It seems like Yoga Sculpt is the more popular class of the two. I loved Yoga Sculpt! It combines weights, cardio, & yoga in one hour. It was definitely a tough workout, but I felt like I was definitely getting my time & money's worth. Both instructors were nice. Lou seems a bit calmer while Melissa seems to have more energy. For first timers, the first week is completely free. If you want to come back after that: -Usually you can find a Groupon deal or -The first month of membership is $99 or (After that I believe it jumps up to about $140) -Drop ins are $20 each or You can get a student/teacher discount with a valid ID. I love working out here, but it's quite pricey.
