She wanted something that she could "kick around in." These fit her perfectly. They even were available in tall (she's 5' 11"). I've talked to her since our outing, and she's crazy about these pants. She only wishes she bought more. I bought a scrubs-style top. These are available here in all sorts of crazy patterns. You would not believe how comfy this shirt is. It washes beautifully. It needs no ironing; it truly is "wrinkle-free." The clerk talked a bit about how comfortable scrubs are, and that you don't have to be a nurse or CNA to wear them. She is absolutely right. It was interesting to walk around and see the other items. If you're an Elgin police officer or fire fighter, you can buy uniforms, badges, hats and more here. You can buy several different kinds of stethoscopes. You can get shoes. If I needed shoes to live in, not for a wedding, I'd come here. You know these shoes are designed for people who spend hours and hours on their feet every day. I never dreamed I'd be a fan of a uniform store, but I am. Interestingly, The Paper store and Uncharted are actually sister stores under the same parent company, TPS Group Holdings. Uncharted is like The Paper Store's younger sibling, designed to attract a broader audience with trending items. While The Paper Store is known for gifts, Uncharted focuses on trendy brands, apparel, jewelry, home décor, and personalized in-store events. Some existing Paper Store locations are being converted to the Uncharted format, bringing a fresh look and feel. I was happy to have found a new Uncharted in Arlington Heights, with 13,000 square feet of space to shop. The store looked modern and pleasant, with a lot of different small departments. However, my first visit was just a mission to purchase the new moisturizer, which was on a random free-standing display and was easy to find. Unfortunately, I only had about 10 to 15 minutes to look around in that morning. It sure looked like a store that I would enjoy browsing for a much longer time. The checkout counter was located in the middle of the store, unlike most other stores that have the checkouts near the front entrance. So, I did spend a couple minutes looking for it, especially there was no line at the time. There was one young lady behind the counter who was friendly and helpful. She patiently explained their rewards program to me. It was free and easy to join. After signing up, in my email I received a 10% off coupon for the entire purchase in my next visit. Please note that there are fine prints below the coupon that exclude certain brands. As my relative really likes the moisturizer, I will certainly return to buy more and take advantage of the 10% off coupon. I will spend more time shopping next time, and very hopefully will elevate my shopping experience to 5-star.

When I went to checkout, I was offered a 10% discount for giving them my phone number and email address (which took some time that I didn't really have during the bust holiday season). They rang up my shirt and I gave them the coupon. When I asked about why the 10% discount was not given, the salesperson told me that I couldn't use it with their coupon. I then made them erase the personal information I just gave them. For wasting my time and not having good customer service, I will not be going back to Uncharted.

I just literally handed that woman $55 for absolutely nothing while being forced to honor her shoddy business practices. In this day and age with wonderful selections and store policies, elsewhere, I don't see how she continues this narrow and unethical business practice.
