I finally got through on calling Macys Woodfield, I had a large order for a return and it was way too large to ship back with throw pillows, Huge bag comforter, ect. also, I wanted to make sure credits were done correctly , I wanted to go in the store but I couldn't get my wheelchair from the.car so it was a little difficult walking in the store. The Service Rep. Linda saw this and immediately went in the back and grabbed a chair for me to sit down while Amberly started getting all of my items together. Amberly absolutely has to be one of their top employees, she knows what to do and how to handle it and how to care for people! I sat and placed my stuff down next to me which included an empty cup I had from earlier in the day and was testing out the features of the seat when some random employee aggressively yelled at me to "move my drink" and to not mess up the couch. On a recent trip to Woodfield Mall, I saw that Macy's had opened a Backstage at this store. When I saw this I knew I had to make a stop even though, I hadn't scheduled a stop ay Macy's. I LOVE Macy's Backstage! I always find a bargain here. I always stop by because I never know what Macy's will offer. I found some long sleeve shirts that fit me, some Christmas socks, and Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse neck pillows that will make great Christmas gifts. I love finding a bargain and have had some pretty good luck at the Woodfield Mall Macy's. This store comes highly recommended! read more

I picked up an online order the Woodfield store. Home delivery has been quite unsatisfactory lately with Macy's pathetic 'shipping partner'. The store pickup was as bad. Slow service, long lines, unpleasant customers, apparently demoralized employees. Dirty business all around and I believe my money and time will be better spent elsewhere. Service is what stands out here. Also their pricing is astounding. I got this jacket for half of the normal retail price. I have a major liking for heavy raingear and winter gear. I have sensitive knees hips and pelvis so short jackets only work when it's warm out. If it's below 32 I need extra protection or my joints literally start to freeze up. The jacket I initially received had some manufacturing defects on it. Macy's instantly sent a new jacket out and I simply took the damaged item back to the store. Finding customer service was easy. A cashier took me to customer service after I entered the north side door when I should have went through the south door. Customer service was thorough in explaining how the exchange process worked because the receipt wasn't. The in store decor is clean modern and the store itself is easy to navigate. I look forward to coming back to shop here when I have money to spend and can walk again after having my surgeries done on my back hips and pelvis. Very happy customer here. The staff at this Macy's generally suck and are not interested in helping customers. Fay in the lower level, rang us up, but didn't even make eye contact or say hello when it was our turn. It's Christmas time for heaven's sake. I understand it's the holidays and she may have had a long day, but to not even greet or glance at us...Macys is just ghetto now. Customer service is nonexistent. Marshall Field's had better customer service and at least pretended to care, these employees now are irritated customers exist. This is why I try to shop solely online with Amazon. I just wanted some Frango mint chocolates. It ruins the experience, but I suppose the customers now freely wearing pajamas in public doesn't help. Right now is approaching prom season so expect long wait times for a dressing room, but enjoy a great selection of colors, sizes and types of special occasion dresses in stock. I've always loved the cosmetic and perfume section here but one sales lady told me they don't carry the perfume I was looking for, then I actually found it a few minutes later. I guess it can be hard to keep up with everything that is on hand. Parking can be a challenge here if you are not able to make a long walk in from a spot, unless you are willing to do "parking spot hover" until something opens up. read more

Do not buy furniture from this Macy's in Schaumburg! I don't know how they continue to serve furniture customers with their incompetence and lack of organizational leadership.. I bought a couch for $5000 from them mid July. They approximated delivery at the beginning of August. We didn't receive the couch until the beginning of September as apparently there were shipping delays. I was ok with that. Once delivered, one of the couch recliner pieces was inoperable after they finally delivered it. We called the appropriate number number assigned to the furniture warranty department, and they scheduled for a technician to come out to inspect the defect. The technician confirmed the defective recliner needs to be replaced and called it in. Since the technician's diagnosis and call-in to corporate, they have been out to our house 3 times already to replace the defective recliner, with each time arriving to our house with the wrong piece! You can't make this up!!!! I have this all documented. They were supposed to come this past weekend now with the correct replacement piece after apologizing, and they never came!!! This is disappointing customer service to say the least! I am in PR, and this won't bode well for Macys. Nobody has contacted me after the last incident. My patience is running out before I am forced to take further measures. read more

Don't regularly shop at this Macy's as it's a little far for us but we had an excellent experience with the furniture department! Their showroom was bigger the Macy's near where I live but hubby and I made the hike to be able to see their selection during their home sale. They had some pretty deep discounts making the price of their furniture on par with other furniture stores. Our salesperson was knowledgeable, patient and super helpful in assisting us to find the perfect sectional and super transparent about the whole process including pricing and everything. The white glove delivery was smooth and fast. Communication was great, they contacted us to set up a delivery date once the sofa was in, the day before delivery they gave us an estimated time, the day of they contacted us within the estimated timeframe to let us know they were 15-20 minutes away. And once they arrived they had the sectional in, down some stairs, and set up in what seemed like less than 20 minutes. Overall extremely pleased with our purchase! read more

I am a relatively new Macy's regular customer, whose mother was a loyal shopper since the 1950's. So I am well aware of the quality of products sold as well as the overall classy feel of shopping there. I like the Oak Brook store, and the clearance sales are amazing. But New York level classiness is certainly not a characteristic of this store, no matter its location. A major reason for this comment is the condition of the ladies' restrooms. One was out of order completely. The one I used had two stalls that had puddled, dirty floors, and overall was obviously neglected. A second reason has to do with younger sales personnel. If you need help, such as asking for a price check, or locating a department, don't ask a younger salesperson; and by younger, I mean up to probably 40 years old. Not only will you be met with an annoyed attitude, but you will be quickly dismissed after receiving a tart answer. When you ask someone who is older, they not only usually treat you with respect, but even make personal complimentary or helpful comments. Please retrain your staff, Macy's Oak Brook! read more

Some of the employees in the shoe department are less than happy about their jobs. One particular woman of Indian dissent turned multiple people away without even looking for the shoes, just simply told him no. In spite of that another worker came forward with the exact shoes and ask where did my Customer go? She shrugged her shoulders and said I told her we didn't have the shoes. The other employee said I just brought them out for her. Here they are, she shrugged her shoulders again and said oh well. Pretty sure she's not happy with her job. Perhaps she should move on to a different department or perhaps stay home with that I don't care attitude. One of my big, biggest pet peeves is when employees park closest to the front door. I pulled up to Macy's only to find all the closest spots taken by employees. The store had 20 more minutes to open so I know for sure that they were employees park there. They should be asked to park beyond the first parking pole which would leave paying customers the closest spots. I recently visited this Macy's before Christmas. The music brought back good memories but this is where the warm fuzzy feeling stopped. The woman's clothing department had more summer sale merchandise than new winter clothing. The departments were a disaster. Many looked like a rummage sale had taken place. Do Not buy your furniture from Macy's! We purchased a couch from there last year, and the zipper from the chaise completely broke. We purchased the warranty (thank goodness).It took a week for someone to see if they could repair it. I have three children under the age of three, and not having a cushion that zips has caused the stuffing to break off. After the repair man said, he couldn't replace the zipper we had no follow up nor could get in contact with the company. We called Macy's who said that they would not replace the cushion, but wanted to repair it. We said that the stuffing was coming apart and the rep on the phone said they recommend taking the cushion off. We said with 3 small children taking the cushion off would break the springs. The rep said they are not liable for what happens to the couch while the repair is getting processed. When asked how long it would take to fix, they said 12 weeks. So, Macy's wont replace, we can't take off the largest section of the couch due to it not being safe for our family, and now we have to wait 12 weeks. Save yourself money and buy somewhere else, where the company will work with the customer. read more

Macy's is the department store I go to most and probably purchase nearly all my clothes from there. The store has all the brands and great for kids and adults. Excellent quality products and clothing. Stores are always clean and well organized. Staff is second to none. I always enjoy shopping at Macy's all year round. Well the reason I'm giving Macy's 4 stars is because they have always have quality sales and dong push their store credit card application on you as hard as some other places (cough Gap cough). And I'm giving this specific location 4 stars because I always get amazing service from the employees who work the men's floor (8th). No matter what section I'm shopping in, I have always experienced good to great customer service. The people are friendly and sometime they would give back your discount coupon after your purchase for another day. I do wish that they would take the coupon for all brand labels that they sell here, like Northface. They have some pretty good sales for clothes off their sales rack, but they need to get a bit more organized of the sizes...really it states an XL hanger and come to noticed the dress size was really a small...boo! I also, wish they would sell more brand names like Addias clothing here. I usually come here for some of my Christmas shopping and use my Macy's card and coupons. I haven't been to a Macys in a while and I can already see why! I'm meeting a friend here at 10am. It's 9:40 and as I sit and wait in the parking lot, I am appalled to watch all the employees park in the prime spots up close, by the main entrance, key in a code on the wall, and start their day. Nothing irks me more than employees taking up prime parking places for the day at a busy mall while the paying customer has to drive around looking for a parking parking spot to spend their money. Absolute worst customer support I have ever dealt with. Bought a couch and a mattress from Diane at the Woodfield location who was fantastic. After we left the store it's been an absolute nightmare. The couch was a 2 piece sectional and the day before delivery they told us the mattress would actually show up 2 days late. Not a huge deal. The delivery for the couch came and they sent 2 of the same pieces of the couch and said I would have to set up a new delivery date. No one from Macys contacted me for 3 days like they said they would. I called got a new date set up. The next delivery date they showed up 2 hours later than the delivery window they gave me and I left for work. Again no one from Macys contacted me. I set up a 3rd delivery date for this morning. They showed up and sent me the same piece of the couch that they sent the first time. I now have to set up a 4th delivery date for a 2 piece couch and not one person from customer support has done anything to make this right or try to help the situation. Highly recommend going elsewhere if you are getting something delivered. read more
