Customer service is good though spare, but beyond that, you'll find the most basic H&M has to offer here and is also located near the door so it's a quick in and out shopping trip. There's a lots of good deals for the kids. And my son whose skinny as a twig was finally able to find shirts that fit him well I love picking up basics from H&M. Parking is kind of a pain at times. The fall selection is really nice. The check out lanes could use more employees. It takes a lot longer than it really should just to check out but it won't stop me from coming back. Tip: If you donate clothes, they give you a 15% discount on your next purchase which helps you save a lot of money. read more

H&M clothes and accessories are trendy, cute and relatively inexpensive. On a recent visit to this location at Woodfield Mall, I noticed this particular H&M catered to 20-somethings. The fit of the clothing indicated this. I've been to many H&M's that serve a wider-range of sizes than just what a typical teen would wear. I have found the Mission Valley Mall in San Diego serves a much wider range of ages, and particularly, carries clothing for size ranges from 3--13. I am of average size, but I found it difficult to find anything I would even try on. It seemed as though there were many clothing items that could only be described as capable of being worn to a masquerade party lol. I even saw an outfit on a mannequin that had a very cheap sheer full length coat-type garb that was being worn over an outfit. Maybe this may be a trend, but I couldn't figure out how you would wear this "coat" without getting it caught on things. Unless you planned to just sit and model it. Lol. Even my 30-something friend agreed with me. Still, this is a very spacious store, and if you are a teen or 20-something, you will most likely find something here that you will like and have it fit. You can find women's clothing, men's clothing and children's clothing. They have a different selection of it so it's easy to find. I went first to the selection of kids clothing. I like the pants and shirt on the mannequin so I asked some staff to help me find those kinds of clothes. She lent me a way and I found it. Next I went to the selection of mens clothing. I just bought a black pants, a polo shirt and a t-shirt for my husband. I know his size so it's perfectly fit for him. They have a discount on selected items and sad to say that the clothes that I bought have no discount. The prices on most of their clothes is cheap and this store I must say is a great option instead for other expensive brands. I am always looking forward to their new collection. On a non-holiday Monday morning at H&M, the store was organized, cluster-free, and being cleaned (the employees from the cleaning company were sweeping and vacuuming). I personally think that H&M has pretty liberal return/exchange policy: thirty (30) days for refund with a receipt or a proof of purchase. Otherwise, without any receipt or proof of purchase, there will be a merchandise credit issued at the current selling price for the merchandise he/she wishes to return or exchange. As many reviews have mentioned, retailers like H&M or in that nature are crowded, busy, and perhaps under-staffed on the weekends. If you're a frequent shopper at H&M, coming back to exchange for something else you like is probably not a problem since there is going to be new, fresh items coming in on a daily basis. I'm very glad that you can shop at H&M.com 24/7 for those who don't live nearby a mall that features H&M. I found lots of H&M items appropriate for companies that abide "business causal" dress code. The company that I work for specifically allows a solid black, gray, or blue top with a pair of black trousers or ultra dark denim blue straight-leg jeans for all genders, while ladies can have an option of wearing a black skirt, black dress, or blue dress at or beyond the knee length. I can find many stylish pieces here without encountering much difficulty. In terms of customer service, I will have to speak from someone who has had experience at managing a store similar to this. Many of the sales associates are "raw," or I should say "green" and "young" as the euphemism. Yes, they need to learn how to humbly deal with a return without giving any attitude! However, leaving a negative Yelp review doesn't effectively help the management in the store know how the team is doing. Here's my recommendation: ask for a manager, or a manager on duty, respectfully address the issue without having your emotion getting your way, and hopefully together both parties can work out a solution to the problem. This particular H&M is quite large: with two (2) floors featuring woman's on the second floor and men's/children's on the first. I discovered that men's "small" size isn't running true on men's sizing standard. In other words, if I need some uni-sex, boyfriend-style shirts in versions colors, I will go straight to the men's department. I'm an occasional browser at H&M. Racks are well organized and well stocked. I always prefer to shop here for clothes because they got amazing and minimal designs and colors and prices are fair and reasonable. Not a fan. Like the idea of less expensive clothes that push the fashion envelope a bit. However, I haven't bought anything from here because...nothing fits me. It may be that H&M is targeting the 20-something, trend-setter. Everytime I go in, it seems that I'm about 10 years older and 10 lbs. (or more) heavier than my fellow browsers. Except for one experience in which I was in a line literally 20 people long with one person manning the register, and another girl folding clothes at the register behind her. The girl behind must have been a manager from what I heard of her on her headset and at one point told us we could go to the register downstairs to pay....Which prompted no one to move as we were at the upper level register closest to the door. Who wants to trek all the way downstairs into the unknown wait after waiting for so long? Why she didn't just open up a second register confused and baffled us all. This last time I was a bit confused, I walked in, took a look around and say to my teen "Since when do they carry Granny clothes?". "Mom this is what the kids are wearing my school". Ah. Yesterday I was shopping at H&M-Woodfield Mall and lost my purse in the women's department. I want to thank the store employees who located my purse and returned it to me. This store is horribly unorganized.... but that's probably H&M in general. Impossible to find anything. Then the clothes.... the jeans seem to not be made for actual humans? Lol. I'm a size 26 jean so it's not like I'm an uncommon size. I try on one pair and I'm swimming in it, another and it's too tight, some of the jeans that are supposed to be a loose fit are skin tight and the legs then literally enough room at the waist for a second person so jump in with me. But that's all just for the company in general... The store's fitting rooms REEK of urine and the employees are RUDE and.... weird? Very tall male employee literally yelled a greeting at another employee right over my head and when I looked up startled he glances at me and says what's up then proceeds to exchange daps OVER MY ACTUAL HEAD!!!!!! I don't go to H&M Schaumburg often, but when I do, I always get caught in the longest line ever. Last straw. No, seriously. I've NEVER come here and not had to wait in a line that wraps around the store. It's like going to a Best Buy on Black Friday but less sales and more chaos. You'd think they were giving something away, but no. With 2 floors of goods in stock, you'd think they'd have more than 4 registers open. The line on the second floor is always looping around the store on the second level and creeping at a snails pace and the line on the first floor has no direction or system, and because the racks of belts and scarves and crap go right up to it, it's hard to determine where the line formation should be, and with no direction from the store, staff or signage, what is meant to be one line turns into 4 different lines of people surrounding accessory racks trying to converge into one and everyone thinking they deserve to be first because they think were they first or because they think the direction their line formed from was the correct one. It ain't right. If you want to purchase something here, be sure you've made arrangements with your funeral coordinator first, because by the time you get to the register you might just be old enough to need one. read more

If you go into H & M with the correct expectations, you'll leave a happy consumer. 1. These clothes really aren't made to last for more than one or two seasons if you wear them often. Thus, they're priced accordingly. 2. Because said garments are inexpensive, a lot of people shop here. Expect crowds, chaos and long lines on weekends and during the holidays. 3. Leave your ego at the door because these clothes are sized small, European-style. I wear a size 4 in skirts and dresses and have to go up to a 6 here. Shirts, for me, are pretty spot-on. Pants... well, you may find yourself going up two sizes! So, don't take it personally. I found this particular location to be far less crowded than the downtown locations, with no wait for the dressing room on this particular Wednesday and only two people in front of me when checking out. And I walked out with 3 shirts, a scarf, a push-up bra and an uber-fancy, sexy, hip-huggin' skirt all for $108 including tax. Who said that being fashionable has to be expensive? read more

H&M is like the Swedish Gap. The clothes are more fashionably designed, although equally, if not more poorly made. I have never bought a shirt there that didn't have at least 3 dangling threads. Don't pull on one! Or else you'll have two half shirts. The prices are pretty low for this type of crap. Any cheaper and it would be old navy. I know that the slim look is in, but my legs didn't fit into the pants at my waist size. I guess I'll be finding out how good their return policy is right away. It looks like alot of the stuff from H&M is made in Bangladesh. I wonder how exploitation free it is? People have already covered the basics in other reviews--inexpensive, long lines, confusing sizing system, great variety. Things you might not know from other reviews: --My husband loves shopping here for undershirts, of all things. --My favorite skirt is from here. --Their shoes tend to be kind of ugly. --The selection of baby clothes is not very good. You can get your basics, like neutral colored onesies and sleepers, and that's about it besides maybe one or two accent items. You can by no means clothe your child full time from this store. It is nice if you want a $5 swimsuit for your kid, though, and you don't mind having only two choices. --The staff is very hit or miss. --So is the maternity section. --The changing rooms are pretty roomy. --You're out of luck if you are short and want a pair of pants here, unless you are willing to pay $10 to hem $20 pants. The one star is for the poor customer service only. In this economy and the state of retail being so challenging, it astounds me at the customer service in so many of these types of places is so poor. My wife and I will not step foot inside this store again and will spend our retail $$$ elswhere! My wife had bought quite a few items online and as H&M's policy states you can return in a store. We recieved the package in the afternoon and returned with original bags and receipts the same day. So as some of the stuff did not fit we went to return here. The long lines at checkout on a Friday night with only 2 cashiers checking people out. After 15 minutes a staff member comes to report no lines downstairs, so we go down and the morose cashier who should really work somewhere where she doesn't have to deal with people calls us over. My wife who is uber polite smiles and says we need to return some merchandise we got today, she hands over the receipt and the cashier asked is something wrong with the clothing and my wife replied no but it was too big for her. Then the cashier checks the reciept carefully as if we were criminals and curtly said swipe your card for the refund without even passing us a glance. Then she just places the receipt for the refund on the counter without even saying that's all or thank you. My wife asked her is that it are we done? She replied without looking up uh huh! My wife then said thank you, have a good evening and the cashier never even glanced up or responded. read more

H&M has a decent selection of merchandise, especially in the 2nd floor area where I shop for clothes for work. It's tough, though, to find clothes that fit if you're in your mid 20s+ and are an "average" size. (I'm 5'10" and 160 lbs, and have to wear a 12 or 14 in tops... most sizes stop there.) Much of the quality isn't the best; probably a step above Forever 21. My biggest complaints are signage errors and TERRIBLE customer service. The last teenage cashier ("C") I dealt with was simply rude to me, even though there were clearly some discrepancies between signage and product placement. I had to talk with her and 2 other associates before I requested a manager, who finally took the time to NOT be rude and treat me like a patron. That's 15 minutes of my life I will never get back. H&M is good if you are super petite, want some cheap clothes, and you don't care about improper signage and poor customer service. read more

I never went into H&M cause I thought it was expensive... the place pretty much looks like Express or New York and Company from the outside. H&M, however, has insanely cheap clothes and it is well worth it, unlike stores like Discovery. I get a lot of my work clothes here because tops and pants are basic and they don't have a lot of crazy designs. Clothes look clean cut, tops come in many different colors, clothes fit nicely, etc.. The accessories are cheap as well--knecklaces run around $5--cheaper than Claires! So any place that can get me 3 sweaters, 2 knecklaces, and 1 dress--and all business attire--for $100 is a keeper in my book! read more

I LOVE this H&M. LOVE. The prices are great and there's a wide enough range from basic everydays to cocktail dresses to accessories to keep you perusing for a long time. This location probably has the most variety and stock in the general area too. To all the statements that these clothes aren't meant to last, I will tentatively counter that the "professional" clothes are (of course, they are also a bit more expensive). In fact, I'm mostly on the upstairs level; the clothes downstairs don't interest me, except for their large selection of cheap yet cute and sexy underwear. If you haven't made it to the underwear section all the way in the back of the first floor, you owe it to your significant other to check it out. Similarly, if you like buying underwear for your boyfriend/husband, check out the men's section upstairs too. The only downside here is that it's always crowded, and consequently there are always lines and the racks are always a little disheveled. It's Woodfield Mall though, what else can you expect? They do a decent job cleaning the place up, but lines can sometimes move a little slow.
