Having worked at an Express store, (more than 12 years ago) you will rarely find me doing anything, even remotely resembling shopping, on a weekend. If you review my check-ins leading up to this review, you'll likely conclude that I was, in fact, on a mission for pants. Specifically, pants long enough to cover all of my legs, while navigating around my ever growing, muscular booty and thighs. Express has long been my haven for such a query.... But they're no longer stocking long lengths at all their stores. They offer to order them. From the internets. And even offer free shipping. Those fragmented sentences above were separated, out loud, in my mind, by such explicatives as "shit" and "FMLL" (f my long legs) seeing as my flight is in two days. I parked somewhere in west Schaumburg, and trudged up the sloped parking lot, barely escaping a plethora of women drivers, who, without my catlike reflexes, would have run me over flat. I navigated around rowdy, unkempt children, only to be halted by cell phone chatting mall patrons as they shouted into their iPhones. I must have sprinted into the store, and centered myself in front of the giant wall of stacked slacks. My eyes scanned the numbers and letters... Long for the elusive "L". Up and down, twice, thrice.... I was getting worried. My hands, starting to sweat, I might have been twitching. A sales rep was on me, she reached into the bookcase of bloomers and snapped open a pair like it was nothing. LONG! They were exactly what I had traveled here for! I held them in my hands like a treasure, my eyes grew large, and a weight had been lifted. Then she mentioned, "everything is up to 50% off, and you can use coupons too" All of me wanted to leave. Too many people, lots of signs, so much clothing... I don't belong here. But the girl inside of me reminded me that, if I got it all now, I could avoid coming back till summer. This plus 'sale' sent me rushing through the store, grabbing my size in three different colors of one, five of another and heading to the line. The line was really well managed- moved quickly, but allowed me time to pull up my last email blast from Express. It landed me an additional $25 off every $75 I was spending. I had brought $500 worth of clothes up, and Joshua, who rang me up, graciously applied my email coupon, found my next account, had me laughing and smiling throughout. I complimented him on the store and staff, recalling how intense and insane keeping up with weekend retail could be. It was a great overall experience, and I ended up getting a ridiculous deal on clothing that I will wear! Especially those pants! I returned a few items for my daughter and similar to our experience picking up they could not find the order. I had the order number , the receipt, yet they still could not locate it in their system. The attendant requested the manager to assist and after several minutes he was able to find the orders and process the return. Their systems need to improve. read more

My favorite place to shop for years. I only west "express " my friends gift me only Express. The prices are amazing. You just need to know how to shop. Though the line was horrifying because of a great sale, the staff was super nice and made up for the long wait. The store is neat and organized and you are greeted right away. I recommend getting onto their mailing list for coupons and paying with your Express Next card to score an additional 5% off. Be sure to ask about the student discount if you have your student ID with you. Finally, take surveys through e-rewards so that you can earn $50 gift cards to Express, as well. I come here and always get a ridiculously good deal because of this method. read more

Spent the day in Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg and I was immediately intrigued by this jacket that the mannequin was wearing so I encouraged my friend to go in with me. I was immediately greeted by a friendly employee. Out of all the stores that I went in, this was the only store that greeted me. She asked me if I was looking for anything in particular so I told her about the sweater that was on the mannequin and she looked for it. She immediately found it and asked me what size and so I told her small and she got me it. I ended up not getting it because I'm trying to budget but I would've definitely gotten it. read more

Upon entry store looks very organized and clean. I entered and started browsing until I needed assistance, the lady on the floor was rude, inattentive and not willing to help. She made me feel like they did not care for my business even though I was there to buy. The checkout is somewhat slow. I highly recommend to be nicer to your customers, specially to those working on the floors. I don't think I will be recommending this store to any of my friends. read more

Never open the credit card, they will cheat you. This store is really hard to shopping. I didn't like it, if you wanna pay for your credit, you have to pay more 10$ for transactions. Very bad for you guys. read more

Love the staff from the store manager to Karen the cashier, Collin , josh Kim and there was a new hire in the men's area a couple nights ago All were extremely helpful and took their time assisting me with no rushed service. Started a fitting room and I was even compelled to open an express credit card. Never have I been so impressed with such wonderful staff and customer service. I spent over $700 and will definitely be returning to this location, again such an amazing job even with the Black Friday chaos never have I been an impressed. I would give more stars if possible. read more

This is my go-to store and it's been ok but as of lately they have the longest lines. There's on average two registers open and it gets backed up because of all the "on-line" returns or returns in general, at least when im there thats how it seems. There's always tons of staff "helping" around on the the floor but even they don't know where half of the things are. Come early in the morning and during the week to be in and out or have somebody stand in line while you shop. read more

My feelings on Express are mixed. I love that you never need to pay full price for anything because there is either a sale (lots of 40% off sales) or you can find coupons. The clothes are great for me as I work in an office and try to look nice each day but I can also pull them off on the weekend. The service here is just so-so. The cashier seemed a little annoyed that I was there and the people working the floor just rub me the wrong way. They say things like "are you finding everything okay" but then seem irritated when I'm looking through the different racks of clothing. read more

Never enough people on register. Line is always ridiculously long. End up putting stuff back most of the time and leaving.

I love the clothes here! They are so trendy and always fit right and feel great. The sales people at this location are so great -- they will help you pick out clothes and will work with you while you try them on and make your final decision. The clothes here are pricey, but look out for their semi annual sales when everything becomes way cheap. read more

They don't have a listing for Express Men, so I'll post here. I used to really love Express back in 2003 - 2005. Unfortunately, they went overboard with the striped-shirt fad and now everything there either has a flat color or littered with stripes. I love the clothes for work, but nowadays, I wouldn't be caught dead wearing one of these striped shirts. They're overdone and trite. I like how they went to a slim-fit for guy's shirts. Before the shirts would get bulky when not tucked-in, but the slim fit helps out a ton. I liked their "vintage"/artsy t-shirts when they first came out, but now I want nothing to do with that lion-logo. I prefer going to Buckle for awesome artistic prints on shirts without the logos and brands. read more

I probably should unsubscribe from Express' email blasts. I am constantly inundated with coupons and promos, therefore I continue to shop Express...compulsively. I've been a big Express shopper for years, ever since I worked for the company and I'm pretty sure I was brainwashed into being a customer for life. I do feel their quality has declined somewhat in regards to their dress pants (pilling after a few wears), I have a hard time finding pants I like as much as theirs in regards to fit. I also like Express for dresses, portofino shirts, and jewelry (although the jewelry is pretty overpriced when compared to Forever 21 or Charming Charlies). One negative comment I have for Express as a whole, is that their selection of suiting is lackluster, at best. Woodfield is probably one of the highest volume stores in the greater Chicagoland area, and they literally only had black jackets with pants to match. While there were several different colors of pants, there were almost no jackets to match. I already have a black suit...and a gray, and it'd be nice to have other options. Disappointing. read more

Reasonably priced merchandise with good customer service. Express is a good place to shop for recent college grads or any person on a smaller budget who needs to dress business casual. The staff weren't the most knowledgeable about on the "do's and don't" of men's fashion (business professional style) but were very helpful when finding sizes and providing opinions/ideas read more

I have to agree with a few Yelpers, the clothing quality has decreased significantly while the prices seem to rise exponentially. I don't shop at express unless the clothes are on clearance because for what I'm paying, the clothes need to last more than one season. That being said, the clothes are soooo cute. It is really hard to control myself every time I go in because I want half the store (of course the prices scare me away from approaching the register to check out). The store associates are friendly and helpful so that's a plus, but overall the clothing quality and prices are the main reasons why I gave a lower rating. read more

I usually love express. My complaint is with this store. They did not give me the discount that was clearly mentioned on their whole store and even on their website. They rudely said that that the buy one het 50% off on pants does not apply to the columnist ankle pants. My friends bought it and i got it from another store. I wish i had the names of those three people who were so rude. One of them was on the counter. I go there often. Will never shop from them again. read more

I fell in love with the red lace backless dress, but when I shopped at a downtown Chicago store, they had none left in my size. I live downtown, but figured I would call and see if the Woodfield Express had my dress. They had ONE left, so I asked them to put it on hold. After work, I made the trek from the city to Schaumburg (in snowy weather), parked and waited in their checkout line for 20 minutes...only to get up to a register to be told that they didn't have my dress. This was the dress I was supposed to wear for New Years Eve...it was 7:30pm the night before NYE & I work all day today, so I don't have time to shop around for a new dress. I still don't have anything to wear. All they could say was sorry, but didn't even offer a coupon or to call another store for the dress. So much of my time was wasted for nothing...I will never spend money at this Express again. read more

My fiance' and I have found SO many nice clothes over the years from here! Like people before have said, they almost ALWAYS have a sale. And I know I need to cut the credit cards, but this is one I WILL hold. I get coupons through text, and you get points for spending...I literally paid $10 for a new, sea blue, $115 dollar dress when I used my points! None of my friends believed me! Used coupons and the sale...got $88 dollar jeans for almost $20. It's insane if you keep your eye out and use the card at the same time. Never worn their shoes (I skimp on those n go to Discovery lol), but I ADORE their jewelry, I have SO many of their dresses and work tops. My fiance loves their jeans and dress shirts. One of the worst stores in woodfield! People in the fitting rooms are alright, but the ones at the counter are terrible and offers poor poor customer service. I bought a few items from there over the winter, and when I wanted to return one, never worn with tags and all, but was slightly past the due date they refused...apparently their computers "don't let them" process it. Please! who are they kidding? I am an IT employee, and have also worked in retail in the past. The system does let you override. Attempt to give your "system" spiel to someone else! anyways, the stuff that I did use is also falling apart - speaks to the quality! NEVER going back there!! read more
