This review is for Urban Decay in the Arden Fair Mall. I met two lovely ladies that worked for Urban Decay named Sarah and Angel on Saturday November 25. Sarah helped me figure out how to do an even eyeliner. I ended up with $50 worth of quality makeup since Urban Decay is one brand I always trust. Both Sarah and Angel were a joy to talk to. They were both extremely knowledgeable on their products and had great tips for using new products or trying a latest trend. They didn't feel like employees but rather friends and I loved the comfort of professionalism and kindness they so easily projected. So I go into the store to adjust the price of the shirt that I bought which now is only $5.99 and I had the receipt and all the tags and the shirt has not been worn yet. Well, I get this girl by the name Nataly or Natasha who I asked, would I be able to adjust the shirt and she rudely answers, "no, I'm not going to do that for you" so I said if I return this shirt right now and go find the same exact one and buy it, then whats the difference? And she said, "I'm not going to let you buy it" Are you kidding me??? What kind of customer service is that? Don't even ask me with what kind of impression I left the store...I could not believe how rude these people were...and yes, I should have called the manager, but I was with my child and I did not want to wait forever because he was getting cranky. Wow I still can't believe how rude these people are who represent Macy's! Oh, and workers-please dress appropriate to work-you represent Macy's-look presentable! Wow after such impression, I never ever want to go back to this location-I wish that girl Nataly would get some training in customer service, she is extremely rude! This has been the worst service I have ever experienced in my life. I do not consider myself a Karen or nothing. I worked in service for a while, so I get it. But OH. MY. GOD. never in my 19 short years of life have I ever actually been pissed off because of bad customer service. First, everyone ignored us which is fine I don't really care. But then, the cashier LITERALLY ignored us when we spoke to her. She rolled her eyes at my mom and DISABLED AUNT when they asked for help. She and the other cashiers just gossiped away the whole time. Again, I get it. Work is long and retail can suck. But THEN she gave SUCH attitude to my mother and aunt at the register. Like CALM IT. Another lady quickly told her that she would go inside the fitting room, but she snapped at her harshly, saying that she closed the fitting room even tho they weren't supposed to be close for another ten minutes. WHICH BRINGS ME TO THE WORST PART. They close EVERYTHING ten minutes early. The registers, the fitting rooms, THE DOORS TO GET OUT My aunt was nearly gasping for air by the time we found a door to leave. Mind you, there were five minutes til closing. We went to FIVE. DOORS. At one point my teenage brother was shocked to the point of letting out "bruh" when the cashier kept giving our mom attitude. Most people were so rude, and the complete lack of effort is enough for this person to never come back. read more

Oh Macy's. How are you still in business? I was in the market for some nice business-type professional skirts and the like.. I feel like the overall quality of clothing, organization, and vibe of this store now rivals JCPenny rather than standing on it's own. Strange, strange clothes in odd colors...feathers and fur and like... Bedazzled tops? Departments are really catered to the over 50 crowd... I don't know. I came back to this Macy's for their Labor Day Sale 20% off regular and clearance items and of course had to encounter horrible customer service at the Customer Service Center in the juniors dept. I had Kim clarify the coupon online and she was very unhelpful saying its spelled out all right there. Well if its spelled out that it's 20% regular items so why doesn't it apply to this $80 item? Kim proceeded to say its only online...well that's not what's printed on the coupon. Kim was still trying to convince me that it's all spelled out as if me asking for clarification was the end of the world. Another associate tried to have me open up a Macys account to get 20% off. Um no, I will not be contributing to this company. And just for the rude service Kim provided I will be returning some nice dresses I bought last week. Thanks Macys. read more

This review is for the Macy's Clinique counter: I went there yesterday to buy a Black Honey Almost Lipstick and anything else that caught my eye. There were a lot of people at the counter for the gift deal. I understand. It was a Saturday. Those weekend crowds are unavoidable. There is no excuse for glossing over a young customer and ignoring her for the older clientele. I was standing there for a while. I was patiently waiting, as the people ahead of me were helped. I even walked around the counter, several times. I tried to catch a woman's attention with the usual, "Excuse me!" but she wandered off. I reasoned that she was busy and overwhelmed. I wanted some help and I needed to ask where the disinfecting solution was located. I wanted to try on the lipstick before I bought it. Finally, the same woman was directly in front of me. (She was a middle-aged Asian woman, wearing glasses, with a black clip holding up her hair). Oh, hello. You're directly in front of me. There should be no reason why you shouldn't see me when: 1. I'm saying, "Hello, I would like some help." 2. I'm waving my hand at you 3. You have seen me there for a long, long time. And you keep ignoring me. When she decided that no one in her direct line of vision needed help, she tried to walk away. I stepped in her way this time and asked for help. Again. I probably gave her some attitude at this point, but I really did not care about manners anymore. She said someone else needed her help, then tried to walk away to an older gentleman who had gotten there long after I had been waiting. I stopped her and made her show me the disinfectant. She was really rude with her repetitive, "DON'T PUT DIRECTLY ON LIP!" instruction. I get it -___- What the heck? Just because I am a younger client and I look like a teenager (disclaimer: I'm not!) do not assume that I can't afford your product. Another worker came back from her break, and I was lucky enough to get her help. She was super nice and helpful. I appreciated her so much. Thank you! :D Alas, my rating reflects my overall experience with the Clinique counter. If you're a young person, you might get better help if you wave your cash around. They will notice you. Been here a few times now and it's a good location but nothing out of the ordinary when it comes to customer service. My roommate and I stood next to the watches and it took 5 mins for someone to help us. Another time I went with my parents and my dad stood next to the watches and he got helped right away. Not making any assumptions because it could be for a number of reasons. The girl who helped me at urban decay was really sweet and helpful when I was buying makeup for a friend. I had an extremely horrible experience here. I was trying to return a pair of shoe. And asked for directions for the return and didn't have a mask. I was rudely handed 7 masks like I am a zombie and asked where the return area is and was rudely shown where. When I finally made it to the return area. I was assisted by Hayley. She was VERY unprofessional. Was even rude to her co worker on where to put something at. And refused to let me speak when I wanted to and aroused the scene. At the end of all this I didn't get to return my shoes since she was VERY disrespectful to me. From my experience I'm no longer going to this Macys ever again. Ew, ew, ew, ew. This is based solely (no pun intended) on their shoe section. It is an utter mess. As far as I know there wasn't any special sale this past weekend, but the area was packed with people trying on shoes and leaving them scattered. Despite two cashiers and three people working the back room the wait was long. People were pretty much helping themselves and collecting piles of shoes that were never put back. No one was picking up after the customers and the sizes weren't where they belonged. It was nuts. I just grabbed the shoes I wanted, bought them and decided to try them on in the comfort of my home. I've always liked Macy's because they were a little bit like a poor man's Nordstroms. They have nice stuff like Nordstroms but for a lot cheaper. Despite the previous reviews I LOVE their shoe section. It's a little messy but I think as a grown woman I don't have to have my hand held to shop. In fact, my only real complaint is getting overly served. I was recently at this location and was killing some time before a movie. As I was looking around I was constantly being followed and asked "Can I help you?" "Do you need help?" Etc etc. I am not, nor do I look like a thief. In fact, I was dressed better than half the employees. Other than that though, I enjoy shopping here. Cute stuff for reasonable prices. read more

Nothing much to say about this Macy's. I don't usually shop much at Macy's unless I'm buying a gift for someone. You don't get the kind of service you should at Macy's. The employees usually just walk right by you without a smile or a greet. They are even worse at the Registers. The Cashiers are not only rude but extremely slow also. Their cash wrap is so messy with stuff everywhere. You would assume the Fitting Room is somewhat organized but its always unattended and clothes on the floor with hangers! I came to the Arden Mall to kill some time. It's been a few years since I've been here and when I was younger, this was such a hip mall. I parked near Macy's as I saw SHOES thru the glass doors of one of their entrances. It was probably the worse shoe collection I've seen a Macy's to have. I wandered around looking for the Jessica Simpson collection and it was off in some weird place. As I continue to wander, I spotted a sales person checking herself out in the mirror. She saw me in the reflection and ducked for cover instead of asking me if I needed help. Then around the next table three associates discussed among themselves. I slipped behind one of them and they still didn't get a clue or care that they weren't doing a job. Do they not work on commission? The lady at the Clinique counter was much more helpful. However, when she was finished trying out make up on me and I decided to get something they were out of what I wanted to purchase. Too bad. read more

They didn't have the item in my mom's size, so they said they can have it ordered and shipped to her home. The associate said it will take 3 days for it to be delivered to her home. This information was wrong and my mom is still waiting 4 weeks later. Instead the associate may have been misinformed. It gets sent out in 3 days, but it won't arrive to my mom's home until weeks later. Right now, it's been 4 weeks, and still nothing. No one is helpful. The 1-800 number is pointless and I'm only told to contact FedEx (which isn;t help either). But also happened with my orders a few months prior. It took about 2 months get get the right pants color and size. I don't know why I didn't learn, but I will never be shopping at Macy's again. F*@k you, Macy's! read more

Always love Macy's!!! This location is pretty legit. Several floors all able to find everything your whole family needs. From Mommy clothing to your baby's outfits. Great selection of shoes and their staff are friendly and very helpful! Good selection of designs and actually a well organized floor, not as messy as other Macy's. Today I went to Macys to do shopping for my mom birthday which is coming soon by the way I am x-employee of Macy. So I saw these nice pendant in case which I wanted to buy for my mom n my sales person is always Robert in jewelry department so Robert had a customer which he was helping when Robert done helping that customer he came to help me so when he was helping , Jamie Roberts manager Jamie told me can you come some other time and Jamie told Robert there is a customer waiting to be helped i told Jamie that I am customer i am not employee I I felt so embarrassed that I left Macys and went to a to Nordstrom. I went with a friend to look at the Anastasia Lipsticks. Immediately the two women working there assumed we were LP so they followed us through out the makeup section. I picked up a color and asked if they had any more in the back. The woman rudely said "Yea but you have to give me that one." This Macy's is great to shop for a good bargain. They always have sales going in and stack and stacks of clothes. I think it's good and adequate enough for the everyday shopaholic. This is a great Macy's store. I have always gotten fast friendly service from most of the sales associates, as well as the make up counters. I do like this one a little better than some, because it is larger and tends to have more of a selection. As with all Macy's sometimes things can be a bit pricey, but watch out for sales. The only complaint I really have is the ladies that like to spray you with perfume as your headed through to the mall. I like to smell good as much as the other guy, but I don't like to be bombarded by six different people spraying whatever the newest fragrances are. I would prefer to have them on a counter somewhere so that I could pick and chose. Other than that, this is a great store. Parking is easy because it is located at the Arden Fair Mall, and the service has always been friendly and helpful. Just watch for the perfume girls while walking towards the mall entrance. as good as it gets...i used my new rewards card and got more rewards dollars amount...which is my second time coming to macy's...i collected about 10.00 worth of macy's rewards when i bought an i.n.c shirt which looked crazy cool...and a kenneth cole pants...i am all set for fall now...just need to bring the fall weather so i could start wearing my pants with my new shirts... I managed to also use the 20% discount and it took off nearly 40.00 from my transaction...which also included a shirt i ordered through macy's sales associate...who was extremely friendly....informative and very willing to assist our customer satisfaction...she was very patient with us and we patient with her...it was almost closing time at about 8:45 pm this very evening... i like how macy's have this rewards for customers to collect and use the next time after 5 customer transactions on our next purchase after we have 5 transactions on rewards...it saves alot of money when we use it and it's our money that they give back...so cool....this will make me keep coming back to shop at my favorite store in the entire city of sacramento... what will macy's think of next???...i will still be there to shop in the wee hours of operation...i could spend all day just browsing though the wide variety of clothes later and newer fashions on every brand... i will be back to shop more...though i forgot to use my rewards the other day when i bought the new cologne for men from calvin klein which smelled so good...it was 70 something which would have been my third visit...yikes...i guess it is too late to have them add that on to my rewards...lol.....hint my excuse to go back to macy's...lol... i never have a problem with anyone here...in fact i know many of the sales associates because i used to work as a sales associate here in the arden location in 1998 and in 2008-2009...well...i will eventually go buy more clothes or even another cologne...i am collecting cologne...lol... read more

Sometimes you are just overwhelmed by people's kindness. Today as we were leaving the mall my son was crying because he wanted to play more. One of Macy's staff stopped us at the door and offered him a candy cane. Then, she talked to him softly and calmed him down. She was so sweet and nice. My son's birthday is at the end of this month so I asked him to suffer the indignity of 'shopping with Mom. ;) He's taller and thinner than he was the last time we went jacket/suit/blazer shopping here. The men's department at Macy's claims that they have slim-fit suits but even INC International's size 'S' was still too big. Same problem with Calvin Klein size 'S'. He'll be 21 so despite the fact that he can still wear boys' sizes, the style just isn't in that department. In the many, many, many years that I've shopped at Macy's, the customer service has been excellent. The store had quite a few customers last night so the sales associates in the clothing departments were preoccupied. When we were in the men's shoes dept, I asked the gentleman sales associate if he could help me with finding the best fit for my son, he walked us from section to section and explained some of the attributes of each of the designers' lines... ... so much so, that I had to find a nice way to say that we could now find things on our own. I didn't like that this Macy's didn't have something for my son son in the suit/jacket/blazer area but I will always appreciate the customer service. read more

0 Stars I ordered a Men's Wedding Ring in April and was told it had to be a special order b/c they had to make a specific size and it would be ready in 6 weeks. 8 weeks later I had not been contacted so I called the store on a Wednesday and spoke to someone who could not find my order? (I have a Macy's acct.) I called on Thursday and talked with two different people and one finally told me that the special order had been cancelled b/c the item was now available on Macy's.com I asked why the order was not fulfilled online for me since I had already paid the deposit, and the response was that they needed me to come into the store to make sure they ordered the correct ring. So what they meant was that they did not know what I ordered and somehow cancelled my special order even though I made a deposit on my Macy's acct. No employee contacted me at any point to let me know there was an issue with the special order. What if I did not have to order a new ring before my Wedding? Now I asked to have a refund, but they could only refund my money to my credit acct. which means Macy's still gets my money after all of this. They could not refund the money to my credit acct. until I came into the store. So I put down a deposit on a ring that is supposed to arrive in 6 weeks. I am not contacted to be told the order was cancelled. I am told they do not know what I ordered. This is probably the worst service I have ever been apart of especially since I have been a customer for years. I would recommend to never order any fine jewelry from Macy's. If you do not know how to submit a special order and cannot pick up the phone to call the customer why do you still have a job? I am buying my ring from another company. read more

I decided, in the interest of saving time, to order online and pick up at Arden Fair Macy's yesterday (9/12/15). Ordering online was a breeze. Pick up of online order though was NOT such a breeze. Requesting any type of assistance from the sales staff was a hit or miss. Some were sweet and quite helpful (Beauty Dept.), while others (Style & Co./Lingerie Dept.) were outright contemptuous towards customers. My poor hubby - He'll never go shopping with me now. Sigh! The sales clerk at Style & Co., 2nd Floor, practically hissed at my hubby who asked for directions to the online order pickup AND he had waited in line so it wasn't like he just interrupted a transaction with another customer. He waited his turn. We finally ended up at the Customer Service Dept., on the 2nd floor and picked up our order. Thankfully, we were helped by a very kind and efficient sales clerk. She was a breath of fresh air. Also, the sales clerks in the Beauty Dept. are amazing, they know their stuff. I almost bought the wrong shade of powder when she said that there was a matching powder for my foundation. Thank you! The Beauty Dept. has the best sales staff at Macy's! read more

To the management of the perfume/make-up area: I came in today to buy some Chanel perfume and the sales person at the Chanel counter was very nice but not the 2 young ladies standing in the make-up area wearing all black and greeting people. First off one said hello to me and asked if I needed help. When I turned my back to her then turned around. She was looking at me up and down. Then a few other customers walked by.. These ladies were making fun of them. This is inappropriate. Anyway. One of the ladies kept looking at me up and down so I just stood there and stared at her until she stopped and walked away. Please hire greeters that display more professionalism. This really bothered me. read more
