The only reason for this rating is for the few who actually helped me today. I originally went in for a nice shirt for hubby bday. Couldn't find one got suggestions but couldn't find the perfect one. I then decided maybe a watch would do good. I went down stairs and was not helped at all. I mean when I say no help I mean no one looked my way I tried a loud whisper of excuse me still no responses. Could it be I just looked like I rolled out of bed? Possible but even with that said at least give me the benefit of the doubt that I'm a rich woman who rolled out of bed. Anyways after that upset I go back upstairs and Jesse helped me find a perfect shirt. He was so nice and helpful. Then I headed towards some cologne where Vernan (spell check that name not sure ) a wonderful woman helped me find the perfect scent and even offered me a complimentary aftershave matching set. I love the vintage feel of this particular Macy's. Its 3 stories and is well organized and clean. The 3rd floor features a "furniture gallery" unlike Most Macy's furniture department. It is well stocked with their different collections so you can preview the furniture before placing your order. Tom is very helpful and has a keen eye for what goes well with your current style. I found a beautiful sofa and love-seat after going to lots of furniture stores, for very a reasonable price, with custom fabric, and 7 year warranty. My favorite Macy's in the 626. Came with my boyfriend to get a suit. haha. Him in a suit. That's a first. We started off in the men's section and thought, "Man, it's so hard to find his size and matching pants..." But wandered around more and found that there was a whole section tucked away in a corner of just suits galore. There was a lady who was helping us. Let me tell you- she was so friggin helpful and knew what size he was from his shoe to his shirt and pant size just by looking at him. It was the funniest thing cause he had no idea how to put the jacket on and had such a hard time. We(the lady helping us and me) were having such a good time laughing so hard and chatting that the whole suit buying process was a breeze. I would recommend any guy to go there to get a suit. I REALLY like this Macys it is the prettiest Macys i have ever been to. I love that it is in an old building and they have kept the renovated interior true to that. This happens to also be the most well maintained Macys with a great selection of higher end items. Macys should really work on their other locations to mirror this one. read more

Out of the two Macy stores in Pasadena, this is the one to go to. Unlimited free parking in the garage. Spacious departments and (almost) everything is always in stock. Use (or get) a Macys card for additional discounts. Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf is on one side and the Corner Bakery on the other side of the store so after shopping you can have your well deserved coffee or lunch there. read more

We like the store and the expensive lounge chair we bought there. But it broke and their warranty company gives zero service and delays and delays repair -- trying to avoid it. We paid hundreds of dollars for warranty and their "worry no more" service and all we got is worry more and more. read more

Of course Macy's is expensive & can be overpriced, but they have really good customer service & a really good return policy. I've returned a few things after being unsatisfied with my expensive purchase and have been happy to have not been troubled with questions as to why I was returning something I used a few times or opened. This review is for my experience with the furniture department. I also dealt with Yasmin and she was great. 5 stars for her. I saw a sectional I liked online and came in to see it in person. Yasmin greeted me and showed me the exact sectional when I asked for it by name. She was really friendly and helpful. I came back a few days later with my parents for a second opinion and she recognized me and again provided top-notch service. She was patient while I weighed my options and I never felt pressured to buy the couch. I had a coupon for 10% off for the friends and family discount, but when she rung me up, she gave it to me automatically without me having to ask. Scheduling delivery was pretty easy. If anything, I think Macy's OVER-communicated. I received 3 emails and 2 phone calls confirming the delivery date and time. I scheduled it between 10 am and 12 noon today. This morning, I got a call from the delivery guy at 9:30 am that he would be over within 25-30 minutes...but he didn't show up until 10:35. Still within my delivery window, but kinda annoying to have to wait over an hour, especially when he said he was almost there. The two delivery guys were efficient. They were a little rough on my garage door while they tried to squeeze the sectional through, so there are some small scratches. Not a big deal, but they could have been a little more careful. Delivery is kind of expensive. I believe it is $85 for the first piece, and $20 for each additional piece. So $105 for my 2-piece sectional. My mom and I already have Macy's cards, but Yasmin suggested that my dad open one so we could get an additional $100 off, so he did. So essentially, I got almost-free delivery. read more

this used to be a stylishly classy, beautiful bullock's showcased in art deco from the golden days of los angeles, but today it is easily one of the most cluttered, dismal, and disorganized macy's in the fleet, and for its size, woefully understocked. if you are shopping for grown men's clothes, shoes, or accessories, forget it, there's nothing for you. if you're looking for anything else for anyone else, be prepared to navigate an unbearably tight floorplan with merchandise strewn on the floor, over racks, under tables, and anywhere but where they belong. the staff is short-handed and stressed and can't be bothered to do anything but operate the register, if even that, making for long lines and long waits. it is the least thought-out assemblage of goods, displays, and traffic flow ever in the history of major department stores -- i'd rather be at a ross for the holidays than ever go back to this mess. the rest of the shopping plaza is tidy and quite dead. there is a nice outdoor area but no reason to be there. parking is just another hassle in making your escape. truly, stunningly, one of the worst of all time and in retrospect, infinitely sad. read more

I just got back from shopping at Macy's! Shout out to Linda in women's shoes and a special shout out to Linda D'Aguilar! Both were so pleasant to deal with! Linda D just made 19 years working for Macy's!!! That alone deserves this review! Linda was so helpful and made it so easy to shop and go! She also truly enjoys working there and had her customer service down! I live close to this location but in the past I stayed away from going here. I had to go today because through my job I have to shop there! Linda makes me want to start shopping there for my personal shopping! Macy's must really recognize her for the work she does! There are two salesladies at Macy's Pasadena that merit extreme compliments and recognition. One is Lucia who not only sells mattresses but is very personable, knowledgeable and accommodating. Definitely someone who knows her product and is more than willing to make the sale to the satisfaction of both the customer and the store. The other one is Linda in housewares and fine china. We have had her wait on us twice recently, one for purchases for ourselves and once for gifts. She is extremely knowledgeable about the many various products and does her very best to work with the customer to find the right item. If I could assign negative stars I would. I ordered an item online as a gift. I paid extra for "Premium" delivery (2-3 days). Five days after I placed the order, I had still received NOTHING -- no merchandise and no shipping confirmation. I called Macy's toll-free number, and was told that the item was scheduled to ship -- 2 days ago! I pointed out that the reason that I was calling was that it hadn't shipped. I was told that there was nothing that they could do. I could wait until I received the merchandise -- whenever that was going to be -- and then I could refuse delivery, and Macy's would eventually issue a credit. I wouldn't walk into Macy's -- nor would I order again online -- if they were giving their merchandise away. Buy something there at your own risk. And customer service....? I love the personal shopper services this Macy's provides. Not all Macy's stores have personal shoppers; we are very lucky that this one does. I am too busy to shop and browse. Tara makes the entire experience enjoyable. When sales come up on the designers I prefer, Tara shoots me an email so I can take advantage of the sales. If I have an event, need new business suits, or have a trip coming up, I just shoot her an email and set up a time to come in. She also knows the entire store, so if I need something specific I just describe it to her and she scans the store for options. The personal shoppers work on commission so the service is free... try it...you won't be disappointed. read more

I love this Macy's. They have so many great varieties to choose from and carry a lot of the higher end name brands. The place is usually neat and clean, except for the crazy holiday seasons which is expected. I have come across some awesome workers who are so helpful and accommodating and then some who are not so much, thus minis the one star. Parking in structure is free and easy. read more

I love this Macy's although their Men's selection is not what I like.. this Macy's just has that old feel and charm to it, and has character.. they do though, have a good selection for bedding.. It is currently under construction.. and is planning to re-open in Fall of 08.. hopefully they'll have better designer selection, the women's selection is way better.. haha ** Update- So this Macy's reopened.. the store seems a lot brighter than before, which is a good thing. This review is for the Macy's on Lake, specifically to tell you about Yasmiin who works in the furniture department there and who provided me with absolutely TOP NOTCH customer service. After mis-steps, bad information provided on the Macy's website regarding leather grades for the couch I wanted, and me not noticing the couch that was delivered wasn't the couch I picked out until 3 weeks after delivery (long story...), Yasmiin literally BENT OVER BACKWARDS to help me out on all occasions. Any other salesperson could have easily sidestepped the issues, stood behind store policies and sent me on my way, but Yasmiin made my satisfaction her top priority and got it done. This is the second couch I've purchased from Macy's furniture department and I am now a customer for life. If you need furniture, she is the lady to work with! Highly recommended. This is not directed at the Macy's store on South Lake, they have been very helpful. However, we ordered the furniture from that store and I didn't know where else to post my review of Macy's delivery service. For the second time in as many delivery requests, Macy's has not been able to accomplish what they said they would do. This is after I received a confirming phone call yesterday morning with my delivery window time. 10 minutes before my scheduled two hour delivery window was to begin, Macy's Delivery Service (boy, is that a misnomer!) called and said they would have to reschedule for Monday - I work, how is that supposed to happen? Why do they think I scheduled a Saturday delivery? I scheduled the delivery at least 2 1/2 weeks ago and told Customer Service we required a small truck as we live on a narrow, winding street. This morning's call from Jennifer at the delivery service said, "Oh, we need to reschedule for a small truck delivery!" They just figured that out this morning? Don't they every look ahead at the schedule? Does anyone have a brain and/or project management/scheduling skills there? After having a holy fit and screaming (not in my natural personality) and three separate phone calls, I will have my delivery at 9:00 NEXT Saturday. As if that's not going to incovenience me, too? The first time this happened, I could make allowances, this time, NO! Macy's delivery service stinks in Pasadena, CA. I may NEVER order anything from Macy's again! Not only was he attentive and responsive to me and what I was trying to find, he was able to juggle a bunch of other customers at a busy time without any other help (found out later that 2 people had called in sick, but he never used that as an excuse). Bought a suit for my wedding in June here today. Catalina was the best person I've ever worked with. She was understanding, funny, and very helpful. The suit I wanted was potentially going to be un-orderable very soon, and I plan on losing weight before my wedding. She said I could buy two suits in different sizes, and return the one that didn't work out come wedding time. How cool is that? Flippin' awesome is what it is. She's great! read more

Worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life! Went to Cosmetics Department to make few returns today. My husband bought me some make up with his associate discount( he worked at Macys) They were all unused and untouched with the Macys stickers on them, perfect conditions. I asked for a gift card because I wanted to buy clothing instead, but The manager (blond Armenian lady) seemed like she was either the dept manager or Benefit cosmetics, first avoided to return my stuff on the gift card and said it has to go back to the macys card. I said fine, but something weird happend...looks like one of the make up was a gift from a friend that I forgot about it and the others were purchased by my husband. So I don't know how and why but she returned all my money to that person's credit card including the stuff that my husband bought. First, I assumed it's my sister's credit card but it wasn't. So, I asked them to void the whole transaction since I wanted my money back either to a gift card or my husband's macys card. They said we cannot void the transaction because they refunded plenty rewards on the transaction that I didn't even care about it. They gave me stupid reasons... I asked someone from customer service to come by and solve the problem. Otherwise, I wanted my stuff back cause had no idea what credit card they refunded my money to! Cust service didn't even come and the manager ended up doing nothing, gave me attitude and avoided my request to void my transaction, instead, she asked too many questions like who bought these for you which wasn't her business at all! They all had macys return labels and nothing was wrong with them. Left sooo upset and disappointed ... now all my money is on someone else's credit card! Seems like I have to call every single of my friends and ask them to check their credit card if my money is on their card! Too embarrassing... Do Not ever shop at this location... especially Cosmetics department because all they care is to pursue and push people to open a macys card instead of doing their job and making a simple return. read more

I went there last week to purchase a gift, I noticed that the room of all expensive housewares (Michael Aram and such) is now filled up with Christmas decorations and ornaments. I ended up buying myself the day of the dead ornaments that they had on sale. So cute! read more

This store has an excellent furniture department. Bought a sofa there and the sales lady was outstanding. The men's department is something else. Lighting is terrible in most of the department I spent about an hour looking at suits, not once did anyone offer assistance. Because of the lighting, I had difficulty even telling the color of the fabric. They really need to do something. I ended up in Eagle Rock,which has a terrible selection of suits, but at least the lighting is good. Parking is also terrible.. read more
