Waited 23 mins at the bare minerals counters for help. The lady that helped me does t work for bare minerals and informed me she couldn't find the girl that does work there. She also said no point in waiting any longer because she's new and doesn't know the product. Very disappointed, I came here because I didn't want to drive all the way to fashion valley but I guess I learned my lesson. I won't stop here again and it's worth the drive to go to the actual bare minerals store. read more

I went to the cosmetic department to get my makeup done and I had a great experience. Dani from the MAC counter did an amazing job! I'm often worried about getting my makeup done but this time I left feeling amazing! I got my makeup done to attend a wedding and I wanted something classy and not to over done. Dani was able to accomplish this. I took the dress I was going to wear and she gave me the perfect look to go with my dress and even gave me suggestions about how to do my hair. Very knowledgeable and patient and just loving what she does. Dani you are amazing !! read more

I've been going to this Macy's for years cuz of how close it is to home. Although i wish it was a Nordstrom in that spot but it's not so back to this review. Children's section-limited selection. Shoes-good selection, I wish there was some more non leather options though. Womans- pretty good i usually find what I need. I pretty much writing this review because last night I was pleasantly surprised by the two woman working in the jewelry department. I got there at 9:30 (late night mom run for Christmas pjs school event yada yada yada) anyway they closed at 10:00. I went straight to kids, got what I needed grabbed some clearance items for the boys and headed downstairs to peek at the woman's shoes since it was now 9:50, didnt see anything I needed so I went to jewelry department to check out because I'm impatient. The lady was so patient and nice. She did not rush me at all was just all chill like nothing. The lady working with her also very nice with the customer she was chking out. They both had good customer service, both offered/asked if they could help with anything else, I was really surprised because I felt bad for being one of those late customers but they never made me feel that way. They were both very pleasant and I appreciated that. So 3 stars because usually it's impossible to find a register to check out at and the selection is limited. I have shopped there a few times and several times I have had to drive back and return or exchange an item because the girl put the wrong cosmetic or perfume in my bag.. my message is CHECK BEFORE YOU WALK OUT!! Most of the employees act like the don't want to be there or on some type of mind numbing drug. I still love Macy's, I just wish they would hire better sales people. read more

i will re write this review since somebody felt it went against guidelines. i went in opened up an account with Macy's, ordered a ring. they said i would get certain discounts since i was a new card member. they were wrong and they would not honor what they told me. i the ring was ordered 4 weeks before my wedding anniversary which is a bit early but i wanted to make sure nothing went wrong. well it did. the ring never came in. in fact it took 2 weeks to find out the ring was sent back. i reordered it, they charge my card twice. fixed that issue still no ring. 1 week before the date i needed it they finally tell me "oh we have it at our other store" hmm no thank you. for clothing maybe Macy's for jewelry never. read more

Worst experience in my life trying to make payments using Macy's on-line payment setup page. Their on-line payment setup is a complete nightmare. Most recent was when I checked my current account and found that the August payment was not posted and a $75 minimum payment was due. The normal minimum is $25 so apparently $50 was a late charge. Three months ago I set the minimum payment be deducted automatically from my checking account as previous attempts for on-line payment was a complete and total fiasco.. All went well until August and I called customer service to be told that when I selected that payment arrangement I didn't specify the amount of time to follow that requested payment arrangement. Never heard of a specified time limit to pay the minimum payment to a merchant and I didn't see that on the page when and where I signed up for such. I have had a lot of problems with Macy's and spoke to a customer service rep when I finally set up the current arrangement. Of course Macy's will deny, I think it is a way for Macy's to snatch late fees from unsuspecting credit card holders. read more

Men's athletic shoe department is apparently not part of Macys. So you can't use coupons there. Also, they have no employees working there, so they don't want to sell you anything either. 3 other 'regular' shoe department people refused to help me. I guess Macys has enough business because they certainly didn't want mine. read more

I went to the Chula Vista Mall Macy's to pick up an online order at 10:30 am today on the 2nd floor. I'm behind a lady who's returning multiple items with separate receipts. After 20 minutes, I'm up. What kills me is there were numerous employees walking by with stuff but not one came to help with the growing line. Really disappointed and not Macy's standards. read more

I went here 2 days ago after work to buy a MK crossbody bag that I had in mind. I would have gone to Fashion Valley (in mission valley), but according to my online research, the bag I wanted was ONLY at this store in chula vista. So here I go to the handbag department ..........it was empty (as in no sales associates anywhere) ok, no biggie. However, as I was browsing, I noticed all their MK handbags, even the ones on sale, were wired/chained and locked.(it's not like they are Birkin bags, my goodness) it was impossible to take the handbag and freely take it off the shelf/rack. I don't remember seeing this in Macy's at fashion valley, maybe because this Macy's is in Chula vista, and well, Chula vista is not exactly Mission valley, I suppose they had problems with people coming in and stealing merchandise. Anyways, I'm standing there and wait and wait and wait for any sales associate. nothing..... I had to go find someone from other department for help. This poor girl sees me and said she'll get the key for the wire in order for me to get my purse. So I wait for her, and she comes back to unlock the wire, it's the wrong key...ugh.... so I keep waiting, and apparently she finally finds the correct sales associate for the h she goes back to search for the correct key, I guess she found the right sales person for the handbag department, who brings the correct key!!! Finally, my mission is accomplished. It was a little frustrating in my case because I came with something specific in mind, being able to find it, and I cannot freely take it to the registry because all the handbags were wired to the rack, and not being able to locate the sales associate responsible for this department. so I'm giving it 3 stars. read more

Last weekend I went there to purchase new makeup. I went to the clarins counter and there was no one there to help me. I waited patiently for 10 minutes thinking that someone would come to assist me. I asked one of the clinque girls if she could ask someone to help me. She was busy and said she would ask someone to help me. After another 15 minutes... someone finally came but I had already picked out my new foundation. She grabbed the product that I choose. I asked her if for some reason that shade didn't match my skin tone if I could return it. She was upset that I had asked if I could return the product and replied in a loud voice "Well, didn't you try it on already?" Even the customers that were next to me just gave her a look. I don't like to be rude to people specially because I have worked in retail before but I was just so upset that I had waited for someone to help me for 30 minutes and when someone finally came I have to deal with this plus the fact that she had no knowledge about the product that I was purchasing. Horrible customer service... (just at this location.. my experience was totally opposite at the macys in fashion valley) read more
