I love to shop at the Neiman Marcus department Stote, which is located within the chic Fashion Valley Mall, in Mission Valley. The Fashion Valley Mall is located just west of the 395 Freeway, and the best exit to take from the 395 Freeway is Friars Road. I like to park on the top level of the parking structure next to Neiman Marcus. If you do so, you have direct and easy access to glass doors that lead directly into the second level of the store. Scott is excellent in the gift department. He helped me with a purchase of a large acrylic Rabbit statue by Jonathan Adler, which is very beautiful. Afetr buying the rabbit from Scott, I went down to the ground level of the store to the spacious men's department Specifically, I wanted to peruse the racks and racks of men's shoes which were on a substantial sale. I found a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes on sale at 40 percent off! read more

I wrote a separate review to the fashion valley page . Just as a WARNING to not walk in here it will ruin your mood . Fashion has added and upgraded all their luxury stores to give you no reason to even need to walk in here , i recommend driving up north. As a San Diego local that's hard to say but necessary given how they run their store here . For example Jorge in the cafe definitely needs to look for a different job he seemed pretty miserable to be working and definitely projects his attitude onto customers and his environment. Being someone to usually find the good in these situations it was to an extreme and want to save anyone from what I've seen today ! Hope this helped !! read more

I can see why Saks (Parent company of Neiman Marcus) filed for bankruptcy. Their customer service smells a skunk and not like the high level colognes they sell. My wife went in there today to look for some clothing for our son. She tried to get an associate's attention and he walked off after clearly noticing her. This is quite the opposite of Nordstrom's approach which - no matter the section- always has people who are friendly and helpful. The customer is always #1. They staffs here have always been attentive and kind. I must say that lately I have been on a perfume kick and it saddens me that Louis Vuitton is no longer here. I had a gift card with the balance that will expire soon and I wanted to use that towards buying another perfume at the Louis Vuitton boutique but they force me to go to what they have in the stores and online. They moved their Louis Vuittion boutique to the main store along with their staff which is great but I always love the service of the ladies at the boutique inside the store. So I purchased a travel size of the Tom Ford Lost Cherry and it is such a great sensual warm fall winter sent in my opinion. And I love the red packaging. I've smelled it before and usually with this fashion house their fragrances do not last long on me but this is such a nice sweet not over the top with the cherry but it has some almond it's just an all-around great fragrance for me. I kick myself that I missed the Nordstrom anniversary sale for Delina perfumes de Marley. I actually wanted to put that special anniversary sale item on my card but they had some issues and changed our cards over during that timeframe. Which brought me here today which I used my gift card and there's an additional monetary value off when you spend a certain amount of money and I actually got the perfume and lotion at a better price than I would if I would have purchased it during the anniversary sale. The Delina packaging is exquisite. I never knew that the top of the bottle has a pink crystal on it. And for all you pink lovers this is definitely a beautiful feminine light long lasting scent that will have you and others in aww. Employees at some places can feel invasive while you're testing fragrances and will try to quick sell you into something rather than giving you a quality, personal shopping experience. Both Jonaa and Candle were such a pleasure with their time and assistance. They asked me about the fragrances I enjoy wearing and walked me through their favorite suggestions. Not once during that time did I feel I was just another sale, but rather a person who also shares a love for fragrances looking to add another one to the collection. I'm a big fan of shopping for fragrances at Neiman Marcus. I like to go to Ana and when she's not there, I get help from Christine. Ana, knows her stuff about the Tom Ford brand. Watch out because she is knowledgeable and has a warm and outgoing personality. She adds a lot of flare in a good way to Nieman Marcus fragrances and will help you find what you need. She is an absolute gem. Christine has a wonderful smile and enjoys getting to know you. She handles the MFK collection and is knowledgeable as well. Both are welcoming, knowledgeable and offer top tier customer service. When I come in to purchase I look for one of these two because they will get me in and out quickly and they know which questions to ask to find a fragrance that fits your specific needs. It was my husband and I's first time shopping here because typically Nordstrom is our go to. We were looking for the check out and we found one with a gentleman in his 40-50s. So I went up to him and said "hi can I check out with you?" And he very rudely said " I guess so. I'm busy so you'll just have to wait." No smile. No hi. Then he proceeded to walk away. I came in person because I am obsessed with "Rose scent " and I wanted to try it in person. I super duper love the "Jo Malone cologne" collection (a British fragrance) particularly the "red roses cologne " I closed my eyes and purchased it for myself $140.00 hmmm "pamperMe time " but it's worth it. Smells Like fresh roses bouquet fragrance and it's lasted for hours. Modern romance, clear and romantic. Very light floral n sweet. The lady in the counter wrapped it with a signature box and black ribbon. Mary was super nice and gave me more perfume samples. This cologne is my de-stressor. Gorgeously aromatic. When I'm tired or stress I also spray it in my pillow. It's my namaste ;) happy thoughts;) hmmm StopandSmelltheRoses. Overall, I'm so happy that I bought it no regrets lolz. Wow, really? This store has a beautiful decor, modern n classy. A gorgeous high end retailer with fabulous designer bags, dresses and shoes from fashion top names like Gucci and LV. Etc. I also bought my Tory Burch here and other high end make ups. They have a restaurant upstairs called The Zodiac. It's like fine dining atmosphere. She gave me a tour of all the fragrances and let me smell an endless amount without being pushy for a sale. I really enjoy browsing in this store. I prefer the one in Beverly Hills ( who wouldn't) but this one is pretty darn nice. If you happen to catch a sale- it's pretty darn worth it to take the time to stop by as I have really caught some great deals on designer shoes and bags. The Chanel an LV boutique are very nice and I love to see what's new and trending. We purchased an unusual purse for our duaghter's birthday from here and they were super helpful. The customer service department is excellent with everything seeming to be no trouble at all. My husband likes to buy Eton dress shirts from here. At Christmas time, I love to purchase their liquor soaked cakes for gifts. They are super yummy even though I really don't drink and they make an excellent gift! It's just a nice store. read more

Wonderfully stocked Chanel Boutique in Neiman Marcus. I usually buy my Chanel pieces at the main Chanel Boutique in South Coast Plaza. However when it came to finding a medium classic flap in black caviar leather with gold hardware, plus one that was made in France, I just wasn't lucky as they were either always sold out, in lamb skin, in silver hardware, or made in Italy. While having lunch in San Diego my husband suggested we give the Chanel Boutique in Neiman Marcus a look while in town because he needed to pick up something at Neiman Marcus anyways. We really went in without any expectations and in the end were so pleasantly surprised! First of all let me start by saying that Matty, our Sales Advisor, was so warm & welcoming! Also, we're used to having to make appointments for the Chanel Boutique in South Coast Plaza, to avoid the long weekend lines there, but here it was such a nice private shopping experience! This boutique may be small, but it is so well stocked! They had many unique colors for the Classic Flaps as well as many other current seasonal pieces. When I asked Matty if they might have a medium CF in black caviar with gold hardware I didn't expect him to say they did let alone one that had just been delivered the day prior. To top it off it was one made in France. I was so excited and couldn't believe how lucky we were to have stopped by! It was such a sweet & simple shopping experience and Matty packaged my new lovely bag perfectly! This bag completes my classic flap collection (for now). I love my SA at South Coast Plaza, but Matty was so sweet & helpful that I'm going to be reaching out to him more for items I have my eye on in the future. Thank you Matty you're the best! read more

I purchased a sweater at a Neiman Marcus online, I didn't care for the sweater so within two weeks I decided to return it to the Neiman Marcus store in San Diego. I had all the necessary documents receipt etc. The sales associate was unable to process the transaction. He called a manager and after 40 minutes the manager was able to print a receipt. The sales associate told me a didn't need a receipt and the manager had an arrogant nonchalant attitude after I wanted so long for a receipt. This is basically bad management and unsatisfactory customer service. I don't recommend shopping at the Neiman Marcus in San Diego. read more

I cant believe the lack of team communication there is and lack of customer service at this location. I ordered shoes before Xmas and was told i would get a call text email with updates. I knew shipping would take time but 3 weeks later i call customer service to find out that my shoes got to the store 3 days after i ordered them but NO ONE called / texted / notified me. When i spoke with someone they said the associate had been out for 2 weeks .... So my shoes will sit there till the salesperson feels like coming back and calling? No management taking initiative. Of all the department stores in Fashion Valley, I consider this one to be the fanciest one. Needless to say I mostly come in here to window shop as a lot of the items here are far out of my budget. However, when there is a sale, I make it known to rush over here and check out all the sweet deals. Btw, this place has the BEST shoe sale selection; I saw a bunch of off-season shoes on the sale rack like Prada, Gucci, Chanel (twice a year!!!), Tods, etc. Definitely come here after Christmas because the shoe deals are great. They also have a bunch of clothes on sale as well, ranging from their store brand cashmeres to super high-end ready to wear. I love coming here and looking at those! They also have a couple mini boutiques in here such as Chanel and Louis Vuitton; the Chanel section is huge and I love gawking there. I think there is Cartier in there, too. Not sure, though, so don't quote me on that. The handbag selection here is nice; there is a lot of Gucci, Chloe, Saint Laurent, and Givenchy. Every time I come in here the employees are super nice. I never felt I was treated rudely. Unlike Bloomingdales where an employee suggested I check out Macy's for a particular Chanel lipstick they didn't have. Lol! I went here instead and the girl who helped me was incredibly nice and offered me a couple Chanel beauty samples. Which was great because now I know what actually works and what doesn't, which can allow me to focus on products that are worth investing in. I don't think you can go wrong with either Neiman's or Nordstrom's (which is right across from Neiman's), but if I really had to pick...it would probably be Neiman Marcus. read more

Came to the neiman Marcus store today to return an online purchase. I returned it because neiman Marcus sent me the wrong color of Valentino sandals and now out of stock! I had a promo code for my birthday and now cannot even use it even if it it NM's fault for sending my the wrong one. While I was there, I browsed through their sale/clearance items and I saw a pair of Manolo Blahnik flat sandals on sale at about 475 with an extra 30% off. When the sale associate try to ring me up, she said it was mislabeled and she cannot sell it to me! I asked to talk to the manager in which she reply she will not grant the mistake. She did not when attempt to ask. That is poor customer service and didnt even go the extra effort to call. When I walked into the store, there were three sales associate buried in their cell phone. Nm needs to really train these associate to do their job and help customers and not just be glued their phone. For a high end luxury department store I would expect more. I get better service at nordstroms, macys even TARGET. read more

Horrible Return Policy You can't return or even get a store credit. I bought some shoes on-line. Time flew by and when I saw the return policy I called the store. They dont even issue a store credit. So now I am stuck with brand new shoes I cant wear. I would rather shop Kohls or Ross they have a better return policy. Horrible return policy. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM THE STORE MANAGER. 3 days ago I purchased La Prairie Loose Setting Powder from a fantastic sales lady, Brenda at the Neiman Marcus in San Diego located at the Fashion Valley mall. This negative review from my most recent visit is not on Brenda but it is on her manager. I am not aware of her name, but it is a female. I'm just making that clear as she should take full credit of the poor service vs another manager in the store. I saw online that Saks is offering 15% percent off on the product that I purchased 3 days prior. I contacted Brenda to ask if she could honor the price, and I even volunteered to go back to the store for me to return it and rebuy at the discounted price (as technically it is returnable, as the item remains unopened and in saleable condition). Brenda told me she will ask her manager, which she did, and the manager denied me of the price adjustment, and in denying me, she denied Brenda of her commission and she denied the store business not to mention, she has inconvenienced me to place an order with Saks and drive to Neiman to return the item. Who denies business, especially Neiman as they don't have much business to begin with. I've never experienced this type of customer service from ANY business. You would think Neiman would be on top of their game for customer service like Nordstrom (which set the bar for customer service) but nope. Again this review has nothing to do with Brenda or the other 2 lovely ladies (Tammy and Paola) that I worked with in the past. If you shop here, just be aware if you ever need customer service AFTER the sale, you may not be served if you happen to get the same manager I did. Came into here to buy the final Christmas gift I needed. Someone who really stood out to me was the sweet elderly lady named Bessy by the gift wrapping area, she went above and beyond to help me figure out how I was going to wrap my gift. The other sales associates were too stingy to give me a decent bag. If I'm spending over $200, the least you could do is give me a big bag to put my stuff in. Bessy was awesome!
