Everytime I come here I have a great experience and today was no different. Matt greated us at the door, went out of his way to make sure I got the shoes I wanted in the size I needed. I'll continue to visit anytime I'm in the area. read more

I don't ever yelp but I felt like a needed to. I had a great experience shopping at this store. They while staff was really friendly. But specifically, Jose was great. He knew what he was talking about, extremely friendly and relatable. read more

This store EXUDES fabulous customer service! Why? you may ask...Well.... 1) Multiple team members greeted us when we came in. I felt really welcome. This is not typical for all stores. I often walk into retail stores in general, and the staff are busy chatting with one another, or distracted on their phone and fail to welcome customers. I'm not expecting fanfare or paparazzi, but a simple "Hi" or "Welcome" goes a long way. Vans Mission Valley has the welcome thing down! 2) Multiple team members offered to help (and they were down-to-Earth and friendly!) We were making a return, so as soon as we walked in, one team member offered to take our return right away and handle it while we shopped. Another team member helped us out in the shoe try-on area and was great in bringing out out the shoes I wanted to try on, as well as some other fun ones in my size. Vans District Manager, I hope you're reading this because this team is awesome! read more

Very nice spacious Vans store... it was stocked very nicely. Staff were very nice as well

My family came into the store today to get new shoes for my toddler. Shopping with a 3 year old is never fun, but Landon made it a breeze! Landon kept going to the stock room to switch shoes every time my toddler changed her mind (which was about three times) and Landon did it with a really happy attitude and made sure we were taken really care of. read more

Omg, the greeter needs not to scream ," WELCOME!!! RIGHT NOW WE HAVE A SALE FROM WHATEVER DATE TO WHATEVER DATE..!" This bish literally screamed this me at the door as soon as I walked in and proceeded to follow me as I walked away clearly uninterested;this was triggering. I get that this is a rough time and that may be her job and will get fired for not repeating this robotic line to every single person that walks in, but by golly there's no need to scream so the whole store can hear and directly in my ear! After that I wasn't interested in looking around the store anymore, ugh . Did I mention she yet again screamed, "HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!" before I was 2 feet out the freaking door?! Please stop having your employees do this to customers. It's so fake. read more

I was there yesterday, the Saturday before Christmas. The store was clean and organized and the place was super busy! There was a decent number of employees working to grab sizes and a reasonable wait time at the register. Only complaint was we had to find an employee ourselves to try on sizes. They never approached us. We went to buy shoes for my toddler boy and I was highly impressed with the selection they had of toddler shoes. I was expecting to have just a few options but we had at least 15 to choose from. They didn't gripe about us trying on the samples. Overall, a good experience. read more

Perfect location if you don't want to go to a big mall. They have all the regular Vans and decent sales. Did come in there the other day looking for a pair of Vans and they were short staffed so it took forever to get help. read more

Sad to see what the world of customer service is coming too these days. Looking thru shoes and asking to try them on made me feel like I was upsetting the staff. Asked for 3 different style of shoes.... Didn't think it was to much to ask. Found the one that I wanted then they told me they have a sale going on so asked for another pair, guy in a tan beanie said ok and went straight to the register and never came back. read more

I love Vans but I rushed to purchase something tonight and hot to the store at 8:45pm and they were already closed. The guy at the counter either even look at me through the door. Online and on Yelp it says they close at 9pm. Annoyed. read more

We were immediately happily greeted by Michael as he offered us assistance. We B- lined to the backpacks and found a few other goodies on the way to the register. A lovely young lady offered us a dressing room. At the register I asked about the totes. Michael mentioned that they were free with a donation to an incredible cause. I bought one. The cashier was friendly and attentive. As we walked out my son asked" Why are the employees there so happy and nice?" Thank you all. read more

Went in here on Tuesday the 16th. The person who helped me find my shoes was fine. He was kind of slow finding the shoes, but it wasn't really a big deal. The big deal was the cashier. She was absolutely rude. I understand that they "could not accept" a "ripped" but still intact bill. But every time I asked a question all she would say is "do you have another form of payment""do you have another form of payment" "do you have another form of payment" with the most ugliest and rudest tone. She needs to work on her customer service. its one thing to POLITELY explain that they can't accept the bill. But rudely is not the way. read more

I've been coming here since 2008 when I bought my first pair of vans in high school. Always great service and super friendly but not pushy sales people. Recently after nearly a decade of wearing vans daily my new pair was faulty. There was a patch of extra hard glue in the right heel that felt terrible to walk on. The shoes sat in my closet for weeks because I already trashed the receipt and the box and thought I was stuck with them. Luckily I took a chance and brought them down one day and after not too long or too much hassle they sent me out the door with my favorite comfy vans. Thanks guys. :) read more

What else can I say. Vans are classic, comfortable and dope as hell. Also their new slim fit jeans are AWESOME. They fit great, they are comfortable, the quality is great and they are only like $45 bucks. Probably the best buy as far as jeans go. As for Paige. Its called a fucking gift receipt and most places wont return shit without a receipt, that's just the way it is. Tons of shoe stores sell Vans, so you should be able to appreciate the employees position, he was just trying to keep his job you jerk. Shame on you for your one star review, just for the simple fact that Vans rule and you know it. read more

Vans are by far the only pair of shoes I will skate in. I refuse to skate in anything else because other shoes just don't grip the board the way I like. This specific location definitely has the best staff I have ever come across in all my years of buying shoes from the stores. Every single person here is dope and they all have their own story and they are so quick to help its amazing. This time around, I got the red old skools because I feel like I need some color in my life lol. Awesome vans i'll be back read more

Get your Vans shoes here. Largest selection for everybody. Shoe prices aren't too bad $40-60/pop. They also sell tees, shorts, jeans, socks, everything. I went to buy socks, they ran out of my size, but luckily they had a pair in the back. Friendly and helpful service here. read more

I really wanted to give this Vans location several visits before posting anything, but damn what did I do to make the employees behave so rudely toward me? I walked in today thinking, "I'm gonna go to Vans because Zumiez usually has terrible customer service and I prefer the Vans store!" But I was wrong. Now, I'm an adult who is pretty new to skateboarding and don't know much. I ordered a board online from Zumiez and when it arrived I realized it didn't come with any grip. So I thought I should hit up Vans(since I wasn't a fan of Zumiez) because they're usually always nice and knowledgeable which helps because, again, I don't know much. The first employee I see was a woman wearing glasses, she was a bit tan. I kindly asked, "is it possible to have my board gripped up?" She was obviously annoyed that I asked and instead of replying in a professional manner when I said "I'm sorry, I didn't realize I couldn't bring an outside board in for grip" she said, "well we're not Zumiez" in a very annoyed tone. At this point I was just wondering why I felt like I inconvenienced her so much. All she had to say was, "I apologize, unfortunately we normally don't work with boards that aren't purchased in our store, however let me see what I can do(or not)". I've been a bartender/ server for over 7 years and would never think about treating a guest this way. I just wanted some help and instead they made me feel like I was a burden to help out. I can't help but feel this is a recurring issue since I've had similar experiences previously. I walked out without purchasing anything. Will be contacting Vans customer service until I hear back from a manager. read more

I needed some shoes for work and due to medical problems and personal preferences I was looking for an all-black canvas shoe with a "skate shoe" type design. I had checked several stores in the mall and was rather disappointed with the lack of selection, lack of help, and most of the time, both. I stopped in here as my last hope of finding anything here, and was pleasantly surprised! A wide selection of shoes to choose from, and a very nice salesman to help me out. Found what I was looking for at a reasonable price. Have to say finding sales help is getting more difficult all the time, so I really appreciate having a sales associate take the time to help. read more

This is a really funny story. I was really indecisive about what color of a shoe I wanted (blue or black) so asked one of the employees what he thought. He recommended blue and so I decided to go with the blue. Opened up my shoes to wear out that night, and turns out the employee must've been indecisive too because I got one black shoe and one blue shoe! Maybe he was thinking my style could be a little more edgy. Anyways, all the service was good and employees were friendly, just a little bummed by the mix up because I bought the shoes to wear out that night, but then couldn't (or maybe I should have tried to start a fashion trend), and I don't have a lot of free time to be going to return stuff especially around graduation/finals. read more

i wish this store didn't suck because they have awesome stuff. first, when i called for directions (i was already on the road), the woman gave me the wrong directions and i ended up in the middle of hotel circle. then when i finally got there, i went in to exchange a gift that someone had gotten me an hour before. they would not return it because i didn't have the receipt, even though it was a gift. and the smart guy who worked there was like oh well the escondido store will have your receipt on record but i can't get the information from them. i was like dude there is no way i can get that receipt, so that means i'm screwed? and he was like yeah. so now i have a pair of shoes that don't fit me, and i have to hope that the guy who bought them still has the receipt. if not, then i have a brand new pair of shoes that i cannot wear. nice customer service, asshole. now i'm not going to buy your sweet hoodies or your sweet shoes. i'm trekking to escondido next time. read more

Came into the store on a Saturday and boy were they packed. Was fortunate to be helped by Nate. Let me say that this guy is a stud. Not all customers appreciate the service in front of them. I witnessed some guy ordering Nate to tie his daughters shoe... Nate did not hesitate to deliver great customer service. All while having a packed house.
