30-April-2024 Today I went to Boot Barn for the very first time to buy my first pair of cowboy boots. As soon as I stepped in the store I was greeted by one associate and asked for help. She pointed me to Samantha who was very helpful with my entire visit. She took me to the men's section where every boot was tightly organized by size. She helped me decide on the style of boot and finally the color. She was kind and left me alone to browse the large selection, but said to find her if I needed anything. After finding a few boots that I liked she helped me to narrow my choices down to one. Once I decided on the pair I liked she told me to wear them for 5 minutes to make sure I liked the fit. I loved them after the 5 minutes, so she took them to the back to condition and waterproof them. I am very happy with the service I received at Boot Barn today. Some people enjoy their job and are kind and very helpful. I don't know when I'll need anything else for boots, but when I do I will be back to this Boot Barn. Today I stopped in with several items on my shopping list. I was looking for a belt, a buckle, a pair of boots and a hat. I walked out with 2 of the 4 items They had a fairly decent supply of all the above. When buying boots I have a set of criteria that must be met in order for me to purchace. They are size, color, riding heel, sole, toe, shaft, how the feel on my feet, and price. If the price is better than expected I can forgive 1 short fall. That didn't happen today. They had a hat that I really liked all my criteria for a hat was met except for size. It remains on my list and I'll check back in a couple weeks. I actually found a belt that was priced under what I expected to pay. The buckle was priced at about what I was used to pay for a buckle prior to the days of bidenomics. Several employees checked to see if I needed help. Cynthia checked me out today. She was pleasant helpful kind friendy and accurate. She listened to my stories. She seemed concerned that I didn't find boots that met my criteria. Regarding the hat she asked me if I saw the crushables. I wentbback to check them. Pretty good selection, some things were limited, but they will go above and beyond to either order what you need, or find something else in the store to suit your needs. We bought some boots and we're defective because of a nail causing damage to my wife's foot. We exchanged them and got some refurbished boots that were NOT UP TO PAR WITH US. We got new ones ordered and they delivered the SAME BOOTS WE RETURNED. Asinine!!!! So we returned them and got our money back but they did the return as a merchandise card and this can't be exchanged to cash so we HAVE TO BUY THEM AT A BOOT BARN STORE which we wanted cash back and not a card so we could go to another store. So now we are forced to go back but a different store. We will not go back to the Boot Barn store on Mercury St. Pist off with all this running around and not doing what they said. The Boot Barn is one of the few places in San Diego that is tailor made for a good ol', redneck boy like me. I love this place. The wife wants me to dress nice when we go out so she takes me to the high end department stores but Tommy Hilfiger, Arrow, or Armani just ain't my style. Not a cowboy by no means but this place, with the brands they carry, are more in line with me. Cody James, Wrangler, Moonshine Spirts definitely make me feel more comfortable. Really enjoy coming in here and talking with the associates and clientele; most are from my neck of the woods so we have a lot in common. Plus, very knowledgeable about the brands and styles they carry. Also, if you ain't into western wear, they also have a large stock of work clothes from boots to outerwear so this is a plus for those of us who work with our hands and backs. The only thing that makes me sad is that the weather is so nice here in San Diego that I don't get to wear jeans too often which means I don't get to wear my boots that often. That, in turn, means I can't wear them out so I can buy a new pair but the good thing about boots, once you find a great pair and get them broke in, you never want to get rid of them. read more

I've been a loyal customer for 20+ years, boots I purchased about 40 days ago they were not comfortable and I was told to bring them in when I bought another new pair less than a month ago, I mentioned the issue with the first pair and was asked to bring them in for store credit or refund. I then went to the El Cajon store, I explained the issue with the boots they looked them up and offered to exchange or refund them. I got store credit and paid the difference of $90 more. Came in for a hat. Found one in my size, black color. Needed the hat shaped of course. It's a Saturday and it was slightly busy so the one employee in the shop that can shape had to ask the manager if he could do it for me. The lady manager told her employee not to shape the hat for me and sell it as-is. So the manager essentially killed the $300 sale. I had a great experience shopping for new boots and jeans. MIKE helped me out and was doing everything to find me the pair of boots I wanted. I said square toe + long shaft and he showed me every boot that matched that. I was in and out in 40 minutes! Went in to collect an online pick up order that the previous day had emailed me telling me it was ready for collection at the store. When I got there the assistant couldn't find the order Apparently tho it had arrived the previous day it hadn't been accepted into stock. Whilst they looked for my order I chose a vest/undershirt from a rail promising 25% off all out wear. At the register the manager Michael was very rude and refused to honor the discount as he said the shirt/vest was not outerwear. This store had a good variety of cowboy boots from several different makers. Plus western wear like shirts, jeans etc for men, women and kids. I liked the service, the clerks were available, asked if we needed help, and then let us do our own thing without hovering. They were available and when we needed help, they were there. Cowboy hats were also available, along with one of those pressing machines that can shape the brim to your liking. If I was in San Diego and not Nashville, I would shop here for my western wear needs. read more

Purchased a pair of Dan Post cowboy boots online from Boot Barn, shipped to store. Tried them on in store. Right boot was considerably larger in length so I returned them right then and there. Went home ordered another pair online, received them via UPS and Left boot had a defect in sole of Boot that hurt the arch of my left foot. Promptly returned to Boot Barn Store on Mercury St for another refund. Looked at boots on the shelf and found my first defective pair I returned had been put back on the shelf. As I'm trying on and confirming these were in fact my first returned boots, the gentleman who took my second pair of boots for return placed the second pair of defective boots right back on the shelf before my eyes. Unbelievable! I made sure to tell him about the defect and he told me he would make a note for the manufacturer to see, assuring me he was returning the boots to Dan Post. He lied to my face. He took the packaging out of the boots, placed a security tag on the boots and put the defective boots back on the shelf for the next unsuspecting customer! read more

I went to this store three times in a month. there is a very rude lady working there, she wears glasses and works with the hats and everything in the store. not only she is rude but wants to get her commissions without helping. she did not help me when I asked her for help, she answered me in a very rude way and I had to find everything by myself. I'm only giving 1 star because the gentleman (Robert) that took care of us was extremely helpful and was going out of his way to make sure we were satisfied with our shopping experience. On another note I didn't think I would ever experience such racial disrespect as I experience with the store manager Cindy. We stepped foot in the store at around 7:25pm store closes at 8pm so we tried to hurry so that we would be out by 8 , customers were still coming in at 7:50 or so, at around 7:55ish Cindy the manager decides to walk up to our sales rep and ask if we were almost done shopping because it was almost closing time and we needed to hurry up, so I didn't think much of it, but I then see her approach another customer, he happened to be Caucasian he was trying on some boots, she then asked him "how is everything is there anything you need ?" he said he was fine he didn't need help, she then says to him " ok well take your time" but meanwhile she's rushing us to hurry with our shopping? We get to the register and the cashier asked us "are you first responders because you can get a 10% discount if so " here comes Cindy with a very bad tone of voice and attitude and jumps into our conversation and says "well you need to show proof if you are " not giving us a chance to answer his question, and stood next to him the entire transaction. It was an awful and uncomfortable experience, I was just ready to leave that store. And for the record Cindy yes we are first responders , but I rather leave this review and let people know that people like you need to be called out then to receive 10% discount to be treated this way , its a shame that Boot Barn hires such individuals to run their store. read more

Bought work boots here a little over two months ago and tried to exchange them with the receipt because the toe and side of my boot is splitting and they would not exchange them for another pair of the same boots. I was freaking out since I was out and about and about 40 minutes from home. I stopped here and these women delivered the best customer service. I told them what I wanted and they pulled about 10 different pairs of jeans for me to try on. I'm super picky and they were SO PATIENT AND KIND to me while I was extremely stressed and anxious. I came in for a pair of boots and had a particular vision in mind. I found a pair on the online boot barn and came in to try styles from the same brand, and look at a couple different styles just to make sure I looked at all my options! I spend roughly an hour or so (maybe more) with Bailey discussing what I was looking for and trying our options on. He was very knowledgeable and helpful! I decided on a pair online and ordered it with the store. In store pick up was super fast and it was ready to pick up the next day! When I got my boots the coloring was much darker than I expected and I didn't feel like these were the same boots I fell in love with. I came back the next day after thinking it over at home, and spent another 40 minutes with Bailey picking out a pair in a completely different style, but that still fit everything I wanted in a boot! This Boot Barn has the worst possible customer service. I dropped my daughter's white hat off to be cleaned and was told it would be ready the next day. I went to pick it up the next day and returned home with an empty hat box. The manager Roxanne called and said "oops don't know how it happened but your hat is still here. Wasn't my fault." I picked the hat up the next day (2nd trip back) and the hat was in a bag and off we went. My fault for not checking the hat when I left the store but it is completely orange- the hat is ruined. The response I received from the manager Roxanne was "we do the best we can with the tools given to us, we aren't professionals. I didn't see the hat so I can't speak to it."
