Our first stop in our journey to find a new pair of shoes was ironically Journey's. It wasn't my first choice, but I was along for the ride. Once upon a time I used to work for one of these establishments, but that was decades ago, freshly out of college and miles away. I knew what to expect when I entered here and I knew exactly what to look for, at least for myself. While my friends were over looking at the women's section I went about and searched what was available for me. I really wasn't seeing much that caught my eye, but what I did, was mostly the clearance items. Which translates into that it might be the only shoe left in that selection. Honestly, each shoe I took to the associate they only had a few sizes left. I knew they weren't lying about that having worked in one. When you have a shoe on clearance you only have a few sizes left of it and you kind of come to know that size until it is gone. But man, that was always the case. I didn't see anything else that caught my eye and my friends were done looking as well. At that point we thanked the associates that helped us and moved onto the next store. read more

Worst customer service! The manager doesn't know anything and does not help at all. Has an attitude and does not want to help.

Very disappointed in the service I experienced here with my nieces today. My niece wanted to try on a pair of hightop sneakers and the service attendant suggested she try the shoes on with longer sock. They brought us a pair that was in the package. We did as suggested, but we thought it was strange that we were brought a product for sale to use. Why were we not brought nylons socks or an offered substitute? After we requested to put the shoes on hold, we were informed that we'd have to but the socks because they'd been opened. And that if we didn't purchase them that security would be called on us. There was never an intention in buying those socks. We were all under the impression that they were simply for trying on. It seems as though "company policy" needs to be more clearly communicated to customers. Because we were told that it was company policy for us to buy these socks after they were opened. We were being guilted by the manger to buy them and threatened that they'd call security on us. Please educate your staff on how to properly upsell to your guests, without making them feel bad for trying on socks. We will not be purchasing for this company ever and highly suggest you think twice before buying from here unless you wanted to be treated like a criminal. Can I give a zero star review? read more

I came in to complete a return and I was assisted by the wonderful Sam R. I explained to her that I had made this purchase a few days before but that I was told I would receive an email receipt but I never did and I had not received anything in my email nor did I receive a printed copy. Sam R. Kindly explained store policy requiring receipt for return and provided customer service phone number. While I was in the phone with customer service Sam R. Kept diligently searching for a receipt to be able to help me with my return. In the end, customer service stated they were unable to help me but Sam R was able to find the receipt and successfully completed my return. I was very impressed with her customer service and her willingness to go the extra mile to resolve this issue and she completely made my day. The staff showed KINDNESS. What a differentiator! My sales person was friendly and cordial, and gave me rapid service. While she was grabbing my pair of boots from the back, the staff behind the counter cheerfully asked me asked if they could be of service to me as well. Such a feel good experience from this staff! My sales person anticipated sizing differences Doc Martens are notorious for, and brought 2 alternates when she returned from the stock room. I found her professional and courteous! She gave great service and defined perfectly "5 "service. As a side note: The store was very clean and well stocked. Everything looked appealing and there was plenty of room for safe distancing. Staff wore masks and kept surfaces clean. 2nd side note: I had just come from the boot's name's sake store where no kindness nor professionalism or courtesy was shown by the store staff, least of all any welcoming. I retreated from that store with gross disappointment, and I found Journeys. Journeys Fashion Valley just won a new loyal customer in me! I came here looking for a pair of Vans for my husband for Christmas and left empty handed knowing that I would have to order online. I normally shop online but I wanted to see the designs in person but after coming here, I know taking a chance online is worth it over coming into the store. The store is very, very small so if it is busy, there is not a lot of space. This is the holiday season, so now it is always busy and will always be tight. I was able to find a few pairs of Vans that I really liked and there was no shortage of staff so I was able to ask for them in my husbands size. The store didn't have his size so they brought a different size out...? I am so confused by this practice. You can't just change your shoe size. No one wants to wear smaller or larger shoes, it just doesn't work like that. You have to have shoes in your size. I asked the staff member if they had the shoes I picked out at any other location and the closest was in Riverside. He was all ready to start calling to reserve the shoes for me and seemed shocked that I refused to drive to Riverside to pick up a pair of shoes for my husband for Christmas. These are shoes for a 30 year old man who didn't ask for them, I just wanted to gift them to him. They are not the hottest item of the year, again, they are just a pair of shoes. I am shocked that he was shocked that I wouldn't want to drive all the way to Riverside for them... because apparently I just have all the free time in the world to go.... No thanks. I left with no shoes and a feeling of confusion and I have not been back. If I am at this mall, I am not against walking in and seeing what they have but in the future, if I know I want a pair of shoes, I will just look online. I went in to shop for some Doctor Marten boots that I needed for a special occasion. As soon as I walked in it was very unpleasant experience. The person working was very rude and unprofessional using profanity and he had his AIR PODS on during store hours... to me that was very disrespectful! I came into the store today inquiring about a pair of Dr. Martins I had been thinking of investing in. When I couldn't find them and obviously looked as if I was searching for something a young man asked what I was looking for. I described the pair and let him know I didn't see them. He corrected me and told me I was looking for the oxfords. Great! Exactly what I wanted. He then said "let me guess, you saw them on tumblr.", looked at his fellow sales associate and they snickered to each other. As someone who is in retail management I would never want my employee to make a customer feel in the manner that they made me feel. I literally felt like I was being made fun of. Their job is to sell me something, the right thing to do would have simply been to inform me that they are out of season but perhaps I might like another similar pair instead. This Corporation has an unfavorable return policy.The clerk at the store ordered the wrong boots for me. This happened to me on the 27 Nov 2015, my wife bought a pair of the 1460 Doc Martens, I realized they were not leather (Store #371). As soon as I made it home from work that day, I told her these were not leather boots. We promptly took them back to exchange for a pair of leather boots. Empl# 420647, tried to convince me the Vegan Leather was real leather. I just told him to order me a pair of 1460 Cherry Doc Martens Leather. The return at this point seemed smooth but to my surprise on 10 Jan 2016, the day our family could gather and celebrate Christmas, we discovered the boots that had been ordered by the clerk were the completely wrong boots (R15265601). We followed the return instructions. Returned the incorrect product to Journeys Inc. The RETURN instructions were followed. The boots were sent via UPS Ground (Track#1Z V52 2E3 06 2605 1968) on 11 Jan 2016. The instructions said the product could not be returned to the store and I would receive a credit to my card once received and processesed. RYAN at the Dock in Lebanon, TN received the boots on 15 Jan 2015 @ 1059. I was NEVER credited by Journeys Inc. $169.99....Still waiting patiently for my refund. On 12 Feb 2016, I called customer service on there packing list 1-888-324-6536. Tragically laughable, Journeys Inc prints they incorrect phone number on their packing lists (Picture Posted) I hunted down the CORRECT number somewhere in the internet. I came here today in search of some Doc Martens and they have the largest selection I've seen yet! That was a relief because it was the fourth store I'd gone to all day. The staff was pretty much awesome! There were two guys in particular who were very accommodating. The long haired fella was super welcoming and easy going. The other handsome fella even went through the trouble of switching out the laces from a display boot with the boots I was purchasing. I guess you could say I was pleasantly surprised. Another plus was that the staff was very knowledgeable about this particular brand. The information I got was very helpful. I typically am not a crowd person, so I avoid shopping malls at all costs! I bought a pair of shoes here and they were a little tight on my feet but I still bought them. I wore them in the house for less than an hour and my feet started to hurt so I put them back in the box. I went to the store today and asked if I could return them. The tall male who was working sighed and said "I guess." First of all, if you don't want to work there quit. Second, that is a horrible way to greet your customers. He opened the box and grabbed one shoe and barely looked at them and said "They're worn" and drops the shoe in the box and looks at me, shrugs, and walks away. I actually got to the point of asking if they carried size nine. Went into journeys yesterday with my boyfriend and dropped 200 on shoes. Today I tried returning their house brand doc martens and got an ear full of about their return policy (don't know if I ever got a receipt at check out and return policy is no return without receipt). I called the store nearest my work to return they said it would be best to go back to store where the shoes were purchased because they could look up the transaction id. Well here I am and at first the young male manager evokes the "well that's their store and this is mine" line then furthers his point by saying "well if you came yesterday I could look up transaction id (and break your coveted policy?!?!) but I can't today sooo...". I would not step foot in this Journeys ever again. They have the worst customer service and they were very unprofessional and disrespectful. I wanted to see if they have a kid's size shoe available because I have small feet and the girl that was working said that they wouldn't have a kid's size that would fit me.
