This Marshall's is a mess. Not sure if it's because the holiday season is approaching and they decided to throw all the boxes in the middle but it was not organized at all. The aisles are small to where two small carts can't go through so one person has to back up. The cashiers were quick in helping with purchases. This Marshall's seemed to have a variety of things which was great for last minute Christmas shopping. Usually we get shopping done early, but sometimes you forget one or two things. Fortunately this Marshall's had us covered. They had a huge selection of toys which was great for any extra kiddos in the family that we might have forgotten about. Aside from that, they seem to have so many other options. So that makes it easier to find something suitable for someone who may be picky. Some aisles were a bit of a mess, but with the holiday season that is expected. Overall I felt the employees here did a good job of organizing items to make them easier to find. The store is pretty clean and there is plenty of parking in this shopping center. The check out lines moved relatively quickly especially for holiday shopping. I walked into this store about a year ago. Thinking there would be nothing interesting and I would leave quickly. Now I go almost every week. I go because it has a large and changing selection. I went in just to see the items. Now I go weekly because of the unique variety of items. I find clothes I love. They have many other interesting items besides clothes. I can get toys and fun things for kids and pets. There snacks and food items are worth the price. This store has a friendly and clean atmosphere. The selections are many. Everything I can think of for my home, gifts, and party attire are easily found in this store. On the days I do not go, I can't stop thinking about the items I am missing. First of all, the store is self/parking lot is absolute trash. Every single time I've ever come here it is the rudest people, management needs to learn a thing or two about kindness themselves. If I'm asked for something they say to look for yourself, if you try to explain something to Them they just cut you off and flat out just don't care. I'm not sure if the issue is the Cali-culture when it comes to work ethic, or just plain disorganization on the part of management. I went to this location twice while visiting San Diego, and both times the staff behind the registers were working painfully slow. The second time I shopped here, they had been open for maybe two hours, and when I went to check out, the staff apologized for the wait time (I was the only person in line and waited for over 10min) and their excuse was the change in shifts...umm...huh? You just opened so what shift change are you talking about? The cashier the first time I went to this location didn't know how to count change. I'm not kidding. I come here at least once a week, no joke! The gym is right next door & for some reason I always need something, whether it's a gift, dog toys, clothing or home decor. I always come to this Marshall's to shop, today I encountered an employee inside the store before opening. She was apparently on lunch break shopping before it was 9:30. As I approached the blanket aisle she snatched one out my hand. Why is she even allowed to shop when the store is not even open?? She appeared to be high on something with her eyes being red. Her name is Jasmine Jimenez, I did speak to a manager which said she would report this. When Tasha was here mornings supervising this would never happen, now I've seen her at Mission Valley location which by the way looks awesome now, but it would be nice to have her back at Point Loma :) by the way this employee is a reseller and I have bought from her on Facebook market before. I can't go one week without a trip to Marshall's. This week I found some hard to find items at the usual deep discount. I couldn't believe that I found a bottle of Jimmy Choo Fever perfume. I also found a tube of Mineral Spa hand cream. These items make rare appearances at Marshall's stores and disappear right away. I plan to return to store this again and again. read more

It was my first time visiting this Marshalls location last month. I was in the plaza getting lunch at Ike's Sandwiches and thought I'd stop by to check it out. They had a nice selection of shoes and also higher end cosmetics like Anastasia Beverly Hills, Too Faced, Nars etc. I always tend to buy things I don't need haha. Really nice Marshalls store here in Point Loma!! I've came here twice and have had a good experience. On my first trip I was helped by Susan upon paying and she introduced me to their "TJX REWARDS ACCESS" which was cool to learn about as I've been recently also going to their sister store HomeGoods. The service by the cashiers was awesome as they were friendly and efficient both times I came by. Their product selection is nice and organized with clean presentation. They lack in the Men's section as much variety as the Women's section which has an abundance and larger variety with newer styles for Spring. I've gotten shoes and a few blouses here.. which were decently priced and also super cute! GREAT deals and *nice* place to shop when looking for your typical Marshalls' items.~ read more

I normally hate all stores like this one but I have to say... I was shocked with it here and I'd come back. My husbands grandpa loves Marshall's so he always does a lot of shopping here. He shipped us a package that included some items that didn't work for us so I came to this location to make an exchange. There was no line and I was helped with my return right away. I was provided with a gift card for a particular amount and went looking around. My husband requested a new pair of joggers so I went to the men's section. I was excited to see how many options they had and how easy it was to find them. The entire store was well organized and this section was nearly pristine. I got a great new pair for him and they are holding up great. I looked around the women's section but nothing was right for me so I went to the home section. I wound up getting some awesome oven mitts which was perfect because mine needed to be replaced badly. The home section was also organized and it great condition and I was able to look at everything easily. The reason why I don't normally like these types of stores is because of how messy it is. I don't like to dig for items. If you want me to buy something than present it to me. I felt like a lot of presented to me here and it was awesome and easy for me to shop. My only complaint is how tight the aisles in the clothing areas were. I was just able to get through with the stroller but the baby was granny and kept pulling items off their hangers and I had to go back and pick things up. When I cashed out there was again no line and I was helped right away. The cashier was super kind and was awesome interacting with my son and getting him smiling. I definitely like this location because last time I was here I found a Kat Von D shade and light blush. There's some nice things here if you look hard enough. I found the Anastasia Aurora highlight palette. It was $24.99. I checked the palette to see if it was tampered with and it wasn't. The cashier even checked it for me. Nice of her to do that. I am paying $24.99 for it so it shouldn't be tampered or broken. I looked around at the clothes. Nothing to my liking. It seemed as if all the nice clothes were gone. The store is well organized. I definitely liked that. They have a lot of clearance on sale. Maybe I will come back again to see if they restock their makeup section. I'm walking around this store, putting all kinds of stuff in my cart that I probably don't need but I'm shopping so I'm in a good mood. I go to check out and the lady checking me out (I now wish I knew her name) asks if I'd like to sign up for the credit card. I shop here often, have credit cards for other retails so why not? She takes my drivers license fills out the application doesn't have me verify anything and then tells me it's under review. I find that weird as I'm always approved. I'm reviewing the paperwork she's given me and my name is spelled completely wrong, the wrong zip code for my home was entered in and I don't know how that's possible since she used my license. I tell her this and she says I have to call the number she can't do anything. I call the line to correct it speak to this lady for twenty minutes who keeps repeating my name to me incorrectly and finally gets it and I give her the correct zip code. I get a letter in the mail they can't verify who I am...hmm maybe because everything IS STILL WRONG. I call again speak to a manager who apparently corrects it all (my social had been wrong as well I find out). Wait the two weeks get a letter that I was not approved because they could not confirm my identity. This ruined my credit score as it was a hard inquiry now going to be on my account for years. DO NOT APPLY FOR THE CREDIT CARD AT THIS LOCATION. The cashiers are ignorant and do not take the time to properly check you out or sign you up. Also always check the price tags I found two of the same shirt and was one was labeled $3.50 and the other was $5.50 so be sure to see if there's another one as you might find a better label on another. If you're looking to have a drop in your credit score, get ripped off depending on the shirt you pick up and experience the worst customer service go to this location. read more

I absolutely love this Marshalls, and it is incredibly organized. I have always found everything I've ever needed or wanted, and with the impeccable customer service from every employee and especially either manager Mariia who is, an absolute delight it is without a doubt that this is my favorite store to go to. BACK STORY On 12/30/22, I WENT MARSHALL'S Point Loma and, explained I wanted to return items (with all the tags on them) and the sales person (a female) gladly took the items and issued me à store credit in the form of à card. The sales person explained how, and where I could utilize the credit/card. However, I don't recall her asking me for I.D. when creating the store credit, or explaining I would need to présent I.D. when I utilized the store credit in the future. The employee then handed me the receipt WITH THE CARD WRAPPED inside of it. YESTERDAY 1/13/22 (THURSDAY) So, I decided to utilize the store crédit issued by MARSHALL's. I arrived at the counter (Marshall's La Jolla) and presented the items, the store crédit, and my I.D. per her request. The sales person informed me she could not accept the store credit because the name on the store credit, and my I.D., did not match. For the first time I looked at the store crédit and she was correct. She suggested I go to the store who issued the credit to fix the problem.. I was confused and frustrated. The crédit issued by MARSHALL'S Point Loma had a MALE name on it instead of mine. Immediately I went to MARSHALL'S Point Loma and explained the situation to 2 sales people before the STORE Manager SAM came to the counter. I explained I had been issued à store crédit that had a MALE name on it. Immediately the STORE MANGER Sam stated, "There is nothing I can do about this" (with an uninterested attitude). I then stated, "I don't believe that is true! I worked in retail when I was younger, and this receipt has a number that will identify the employee who issued the store credit". ( FYI, upon my examination, the receipt and store credit had a male name on it.) After 4 min or so, the STORE MANAGER Sam returned and stated, "We found out who issued the credit. I described the employee,, and STORE MANAGER Sam said confirmed my description of the employee. In an annoyed gruff voice STORE MANGER Sam stated, "I'm going re-issue a credit... this time". Then he stated, I'm shocked, because she (employee) is such a good employee. I don't know what happened, maybe she was sick". "Can YOU tell me what happened again during the transaction?" I then explained to STORE MANAGER Sam for the 3rd time, what took place on 12/30/21 with the employee who issued the store credit. I also informed STORE MANGER Sam I didn't recall the employee asking me for I.D. before she issued the store credit to me, However, STORE MANAGER Sam did not respond. He then said, "Oh wait, let me make sure this card has not been used". STORE MANAGER Sam swiped the card, and stated, "Good, the money is still on here". SAM then produced à new store credit, and said in à irritated voice tone, "Here is the re-issued crédit! "You must understand, when you use this credit, you must show your I.D. If you don't understand, go to the website" (Hé said this 2x) STORE MANAGER Sam handed me the new store credit and receipt with MY name on it. MARSHALL's Point Loma, I' have never been so insulted in all my entire life. Instead of being treated as a valued CUSTOMER, I was treated as if I had stolen from your store, or I was some sort of scammer. FYI, fir the past 2 yrs, I have come to your store at least 2x per week. The fact your STORE MANAGER Sam could not simply accept his employee had made a mistake is unbelievable to me. Instead, STORE MANAGER Sam chose to believe (demonstrated by his actions) I in some way needed to bare the responsibility for his employees momentary incompetence. Nice new location, have some really nice things. They are pricier than Ross, very comparable to TJ maxx -but they do have higher quality in some departments. Went today to shop and when I went to the fitting room the attendant argued with me for a full minute about my 12 year old going into the dressing room with me. She said only minors can go in the dressing room with their parents. I don't know her definition of a minor since my daughter is 12! Can't believe I've lived in this neighborhood for over 18 yrs and never visited this store. It's My new shopping store for women's fashion and more. This store is way nicer than shopping at the nearby TJmax and Ross. It's super clean too and nice inventory, well organized. I went to buy a couple workout pants and ended up buying tons of cute dresses, tops, purchase and even a couple of really nice Nautical shorts for my husband. I was shopping in the store and I see 2 women who worked there yelling and making a scene toward a nice young man who also worked there. This was in front of many other customers as well. They girls would not stop yelling at him and one came after him like she was going to choke him. The poor guy was trying to walk away and told them to stop but they would not listen. Started to threaten him with harm by there family members and pulling the race card all in front of customers. I go in again and see one of those women and I could not believe the women had not been fired. The whole thing was terrible and I felt so sorry for the young man. read more
