When it comes to Macys, this is probably one of the better options in the surrounding area. I usually have a negative experience at the Glendale location so I decided to try this one out. My first stop was the return counter on the first floor right by the exit. I had a couple of items to return. The young Latina girl with curled hair at the counter was welcoming and made the experience quick and easy without making me feel rushed. The male employee at the register next to the young lady also greeted me as well as every customer in line. If you ever need to return items and dont want to feel judged or looked down on like other stores do , I recommend this location first. They even have candy for purchasing at the queue! My next stop was the furniture area right across from the return counter. I didnt have the intentions of purchasing furniture but i wanted to browse on my day off. Leo at the furniture register was amazing. He welcomed us with a huge smile and greeted us, even made short conversations. I made sure i received his name as I will be recommending him to anyone looking to buy furniture in the future. Thanks Leo! My last and final stop was the womens clothing area and childrens department on the third floor. And this is where it unfortunately goes downhill. Not once were we greeted. Even after asking two of the older women employees in the coat area for help. They made us feel like we were burdens on them while they stood and gossiped away at the counters. I had wanted to look at the coats but quickly turned around. The childrens department was a disaster. Clothes everywhere. On the floor, on top of random clothing racks.everywhere. It was quite the safety hazard trying to navigate through the department. However I appreciated the red headed gal at the register counter that greeted us and let us know that she would be able to help us as soon as she was done helping the other customers. I thanked her for letting us know but left afterwards when I saw she had a large amount of people in the queue with just her behind the counter. Macys, please hire more employees! Overall, I recommend this Macys. Parking is a breeze and they have great selections in store. its extremely easy to navigate through the different departments and escalators on each floor. The bathrooms were clean and tidy. The store is definitely understaffed though so keep in mind before you arrive. read more

This review is for the Estée Lauder make up booth at Macy's. I use the double wear foundation by Estée Lauder and it's the best but for some reason the last bottle I got was a bit too liquid-y as if someone accidentally spilled water in it or something. I've never had a problem returning anything at Macy's before, but for some strange reason, my mom had the worst experience with a "Helen". My mom went inside and explained her situation, how she got the foundation as a gift and asked if they could replace it, and the worker asked someone else for help (I'm assuming she asked a manager) and the lady starts off with, "Well I don't know why anybody would ever gift you with foundation," with attitude, and my mom told her she asked for it and she got it as a gift. What kind of stupid remark was that? Just because my mom looks innocent don't take advantage of her kindness. She continued to give my mom constant attitude and finally told the worker, "Fine, replace it." And as she walked away, my mom asked, "Why is she giving me attitude? This is her job to take care of problems like this." And the worker replied, "She's had a long day, she's in a bad mood." Since when was it okay to bring personal issues into a work environment? I've worked a customer service position, too. I know to never take my personal issues out on a guest of my store. 2 stars only because we eventually got what we wanted, but 1 star for Helen's shitty customer service. read more

I came in to pick up some dishes my mother ordered for me using the in-store pickup option. I had just returned from cleveland and while home I fell in love with her all white dish set. She nicely ordered them for me to pick up here in LA. I Arrived in store and was directed to the in-store pickup section that was unmanned. I waited about 5 minutes for someone to help me. An older woman approached and I told her I was here to pick up items my mother ordered for me. She then demanded my mothers drivers license .. For what? She ordered them for me and my name is on the order. She made a huge deal about that's how the system works until I said my mother is in cleveland - she ordered the products for me to pick up here. Then she asked for my drivers license and everything was fine. She took forever to bring it out, then they took forever to page someone to help me bring the items to my car. This woman was too stressed to be working at this place though - every person she interacted with she stressed out - including myself. Not the greatest visit but my dishes are beautiful ! read more

I wanted to return fragrances that I purchased from another branch to gift, but I decided to give them something else. After arguing for 15 mins, she told me that because they're 5 items they can't return it. So I tried to be realistic and I went through all macys return policy with her and convinced her that there is no difference in number of items. Then she said she can return only two of them. This was a time that I asked her to write it on a piece of paper that she will return only two of five items because she wants it that way. Thanks to a young cashier girl there that was kindly informed the store manager and asked her to return all per manager's order. That's the only reason I give you two stars, otherwise you deserve nothing. The manager also never showed up, of course he has to be very busy with such s.t.p.d employees! read more

So sad. I went to shop for clothes and it looks and feels like the store is going out of business. Hot, filthy, the racks are so unorganized. I was shopping in the plus size area and it felt like a place time forget. The music was awful too!! It seems extremely understaffed. I had grabbed a bunch of clothes to try on and there was no basket or cart for me to put anything into. The only positive was the 2 employees were very friendly and nice. Not a good Macy's. More items on the floor than on the rack. I felt like I was at a Ross instead of a Macy's. I was at Christmas and all of the sale clerks were on the registers. this macy's gets dicier and dicier every year. the sears in this mall is actually a nicer store. if you need a macy's this one is smaller yet less chaotic than glendale, however not on par with sherman oaks, but less cramped than eagle rock or pasadena. read more

This review is more for some higher level manager to read and consider. A dept store used to be something special different. You dealt with maybe paying more for the experience of the store. Sadly this location is in need of help. For YEARS the doors leading in from the parking lot on all levels have been worn out, needing paint, with the brass handles broken off. Once inside the carpet in various areas for example the china dept is worn torn and in places held together with duct tape. Move around and you see dirt dust everywhere, cleaning crews wipe and leave residue. The materials are thrown around and the staff is generally useless. I was in the store when two "associate" were loudly talking using choice words. I told them to show respect as there were children but they looked inconcerned. QUESTION. Stood in line for 30 minutes. The manager let two guys CUT in front of the line of 8 angry, annoyed customers. Then, when I get into line the cashier says the tag is missing (it was on there but fell off when she removed the security button) and asks what I would like to do!!! I run to grab another dress with a tag. She then tells me she will have tor recreate a new tag and cant simply type in the total. No customer service. No urgency. Burbank Macy's Cosmetics department: If your looking for a great brow specialist, you need to visit the Benefit Brow Bar and ask for Lisa. She is very professional and pleasant. Hygiene up to standards and very precise. Lisa was able to completely reshape my brows. I'm always getting compliments and I can't tell you what a relief it is to find a brow specialist that is consistent with her work. I myself am in the beauty industry so when I find a great specialist I have to share! read more

I called and was lucky enough to get connected with Elizabeth. She took time to hear my request. She looked on the floor for my item. When she couldn't find it immediately, she asked for my phone number. She called me back within 30 minutes and had found the item I needed. If you need to go to a department store for something but don't like shopping, this is a good place to go because it's not huge. But then they don't have a large selection either. But I can always find something, well, usually, if I need something. I don't really like the bathrooms, because at least on the third floor, you have to walk down a lonnnng hall to get to it. It's not the cleanest or most organized store, but I do like going there for some reason! read more

Just like any other Macy's at the mall, they have a decent selection of products available. Quite honestly, most of it's too expensive, particularly the clothing. I can go to cheaper places if I want to find some nice business casual clothes. However, for other items that you won't normally find at a thrift store, this place has them. I bought a Chanel Au DE perfume from the cosmetic dept. of this store on Christmas eve 2011. Later on I figured out that it is fake. When I tried to return it, they treated me like I took the fake one back instead of the original one! By the same time I realized that the sales person has done her job very well, because there was no return label on the box and also she has sold me the Au DE toilet and charged me for the Au DE perfume! I asked them to check the cameras. I was %100 sure that I am innocent. They all (dept. manager, store manager and ....) stated that they don't have access to the cameras. Who does? Nobody knows. Be alert of what do you buy from Macys and how do they charge you. I have shared my story with the local news press and also complained to the BBB. But they are so rude and impolite. DO NOT BUY Anything from the Furniture Department here! The Sales reps in the Furniture department are liars and will tell you anything you want to hear to make a sale! We bought a couch here and the sales rep up sold us on their extended warranty, and now that we are having issues with the couch only 14 months into owning it, we are being told that basically nothing is covered! What the sales rep at Macys told us during the point of purchase we are finding out was all a lie and he made extra commission on the sale for up selling a bogus warranty! The couch is a piece of crap. This our 3rd couch from Macys and all 3 of them turned out to be garbage after just 1 year of normal use. CAUTION when shopping here. I rated this four stars because of the furniture department. The gentlemen in there were wonderful, willing to help and also willing to let me look. I am grateful for that kind of service. The service in the rest of the store is severely lacking. After I purchased my sectional, I went into the men's department. I looked for 45 minutes, and not a single associate smiled at me, much less approached to see if I had any questions. Be careful about the clothes you buy on the clearance racks. I tried a shirt on to see if it fit, but I did not look carefully. After I got home and took the tags off, I noticed a huge stain on the front chest pocket. Wasn't able to return it or get an exchange so I took this as a valuable lesson when buying clothes. Inspect inspect inspect. And don't take off the tags without knowing for sure yo uwant to keep. Seems like common sense, but when you're stoked to wear clothes you got sometimes you don't go about it carefully. The Burbank Macys is great! I find that people who complain about this store are usually the difficult customers who dont follow rules. They want an excessive amount of service. Most of the bad reviews here are from customers who want the employee to be their personal shopper and do all of their shopping for them. Some people are just difficult to please. On April 25 my daughter and I were shopping for a dress at Macy's in Burbank, my daughter needed this dress that she saw on the mannequin, which was her size and there was no other in the store. It was 8:58 and the store was about to close. What does the Macy's in Burbank, California have in common with the DMV? Both are incredibly rude and terribly inefficient. We decided to stop by after a movie. It was about 9:15pm. Eight minutes before closing, we went to check out at the only set of registers on the 3rd floor. Both registers were occupied, but we were next in line, so we figured it would go fast. Twenty minutes later, we were still waiting. We finally gave up and left our merchandise there. To add insult to injury, when we tried to exit, we found they'd closed all the exits except the absolute furthest one from where we'd parked. When I asked a man who worked there about it, he said they'd been open since 6am, implying we should have come earlier. HOW RUDE!!!!! How about, if we just don't shop at Macy's at all. I've never shopped here for women's clothes, but their selection of men's clearance items was pretty legit Saturday afternoon. Hubby bought two for $31. Not a bad deal. Worth braving the somewhat grating environment of the Media Center, especially since the adjoining parking lot allows you to enter the Menswear section direct. A decent bathroom on the third floor makes this an okay place to shop for the hubby. read more

COSMETIC DEPARTMENT!! Register in front of Mac. Went into the cosmetic department knowing what that I was going to be in line for a while. I stood in line with two people in front of me, patiently waiting. It was my turn to be checked out and one of the make up artist tells the cashier (TINA, aka Manger) to take the male caucasian customer behind me and sent me to another cashier. I was shocked that I had been waiting patiently in line and they still made me walk about 60 feet to pay for my items. When she could have just taken me and sent the male costumer to the other register. Is this because I am minority Mexican women? The floor manager was called per my request. She came and did not even care how they treated me. Her excuse was that people are flustered during the holiday season. If Macy's employees can't keep their cool, how can the customer? Worst floor manager ever. Was she even a floor manager? She did not know how to handle the situation. All I needed to hear from her was "I will ensure proper training, my apologies for you inconvenience", but nothing. Very disappointed!! read more

We bought some furniture from this store, and even though the quality is good, I have to say the customer service put us off completely. First of all, the sales person openly lied to us to get the sale done, disregarding completely our requests and only telling us the truth once the transaction had gone through... Ooops. And when the team came to assemble the furniture, they didn't put any screws in, so we slept in a bed that was getting more and more creaky until we realised none of the boards had been fixed to the actual bed frame- we were lucky it didn't collapse under us! And we even tipped the assembly guys! Finally we got it repaired, but all in all it was not a pleasant experience and I will not be shopping here again any time soon, particularly not at this location. read more

I was that Macy's in Burbank today between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. looking for men's dress shoes. During the time I was there, there was only one service person working the register, answering questions, getting shoes from the back for people, and several other service related activities simultaneously. Jenni is her name, and she was amazing to watch. She had a great friendly attitude, she was very fast and efficient, and, even though she was helping several people at the same time, everyone got excellent service. Macy's and the customers are lucky to have her, and I think she should be promoted and get a bonus. Also, before today I had never met Jenni, but when I come into Macy's shoe department next time, I hope she's there. She is terrific. read more

This review is for the Benefit brow bar they have on the 2nd floor. Anthony worked on my brows and was very outgoing and friendly. Everything looked good and felt good. I went home and washed my face as I was getting ready to go to bed. I felt stinging on my right brow. I looked closely with my magnifying mirror and to my horror I had a pretty bad burn mark on my right brow. I felt so disappointed. I hadn't wax my eyebrows in years and the first time I do it, I get burned. In any case, it has been about 5 days and I still have scabs from the burn. I registered at Macys for my wedding, and being that I live down the street from this Macys in Burbank, I went to them for everything. Although they were very helpful in getting my registry set up, my returns/exchanges were a nightmare. There is ALWAYS a line. You have to go to different departments to return various items. Really the problem is that they just need more employees on the floor. I hate to not give a good review but it is the truth - use another Macy's location if possible. read more

The racks here are almost always a mess. The staff is either not driven to help you, or driven too much to help you (maybe commission based?) But either way, it doesn't feel consistent throughout. I'm a fan of this place because they do tend to change our their stock often so you're able to always find good up-to date clothing or merchandise. read more
