In my opinion, this Macy's is the cleanest in the area and only one that does NOT smell like soiled carpet. We all know the smell I am referring to (cough cough, the infamous Macy's dressing room stench for example). Thankfully, this Macy's doesn't have that odor. Unlike most Macy's the dressing rooms aren't a showcase of disaster and poor logistics nor does the fragrance staff chase you around the cash wraps. The parking lot is safer than most and the return counter staff is pleasant. All-in-all, the better location when needing to get to a Macy's. read more

A woman tried to help me...blindingly leading me around and she clearly had zero knowledge of the store's layout. I asked for Men's black slacks and she took me all around a area and said they should be around here not showing me where. I usually shop at old navy or a stand alone. But the service was awful and the cashier convinced me to sign up to a rewards program by giving away my ssn and lots of personal shit to get %40 off my purchase took forever and I won't be coming back. The first woman was old 50-up and she was blond and the cashier and asian lady with black hair didn't get either names I can't remember. It was so bad it was creepy the service that is. read more

Macy's has taken a sharp detour downhill. While making several purchases, asked the cashier if a sweatshirt was on sale. Her response: "Well there's a price check machine behind you" WHAT? As I turned around all I saw was a huge clothes rack over run with items blocking the "price check" scan 30 feet away. Nope. I said just scan it please, we are here now. Cashier yells tersely and snaps: " I AM !!!!" My calm reply, "Why is this such a problem for you?" She tells us it's because there's always a line of people waiting. There were ZERO customers behind us! Horrendous customer service. What an embarrassment. Obviously she hates her job and should quietly retire in bitterness. Avoid this store. read more

Started my christmas shopping. You have no staff to cover small appliances (wanted to purchase an air fryer) or ladies bra sections. macy's used to be the store to go to during the holidays. but not anymore. But not only that, once checkout area in the middle of a football field size of clothes. The staff is very friendly and doing their best. If I wasn't visiting here I would abandon the purchase. A visit to this Macy's was all a blur. I came in, did a once through of the major sections and found myself checking out all the clearance sections. They do have a pretty massive Backstage area here that can consume your time. That is on top of the multiple areas throughout the store that have clearance items strewn about. I found myself using the scanner on my phone to double check the prices on many of the items, just because they may have missed an item that should have been lower. However, they prices seemed to hold up. It was a bit ridiculous on some of the items what they considered a sale price. Now, don't hate me for this, but their clearance section is much like a regular Goodwill store. Everything was thrown about and out of whatever type of order they had had it in. Then with the items that are throughout the store, it just made it feel like an uneventful scavenger hunt. read more

This is a great store. It has a wide selection of merchandise. It's very clean and up to date. Macys offers great value of all price ranges. When Macys has a sale, the pricing we well worth paying. The service in the men's and home departments are staffed with seasoned employees who are very helpful. I stongly recommend shopping at the Annapolis Macys. read more

The service was terrible. The store sales person was rude and argumentative. I was simply trying to exchange a sweater for a smaller size. She said they did not carry it, which was incorrect, walked away when I was asking a question, and stated I had no proof of purchase. It was a gift. I did not purchase it and I was not returning it. Just wanted a smaller size. Macy's sucks. They should close all the stores. Plus, the customer return receipt label was on the sweater. Didn't bother to look at it. For the past 3 years I have taken advantage of their holiday sales and have done the majority of our Christmas shopping with Macy's online service. Each gift arrived expeditiously and well-packed, and was of excellent quality. Macy's has become my primary gift haven. read more

The two stars are taken off for presentation of the clothing. Looks kind of tacky. I went to the shoe department first and didn't see a great selection. I will say after I tried on a shoe in the last act department an older gentleman with glasses approached and asked if I needed help. He got my shoe Match and I bought them right away. At the checkout, he was very personable. Nice to see. Went upstairs to backstage and a young man checked me out. Short interaction but it was a pleasant one. Afterwards, I went to the juniors department and the lady who checked me out was very nice and even offered me the hanger. Don't always get good customer service in Macy's so I was impressed. They are doing a lot of construction on both floors they have moved the watches to one of the counters in the middle of the floor and moved the sunglasses where the watches were fine jewelry is not in the same spot move that also they have had plastic up in the makeup area for 6+ months must be some great display. Went up to use the restrooms well they are closed had to go out in the mall area to closest one. They should put a sign up at the escalators that the restrooms are out of order I almost didn't make it but they do have a lady's restroom on the first floor just no men's. All of the cloths they have on clearance back behind the men's department need to be spaced out more you can't move them on the rack there's so many. read more

Earlier today, as I was waiting in line, I watched a lady working in the Men's department give a woman a hard time for a return (that she had the receipt for). It was really unpleasant to watch. Then it was my turn for the unpleasantness. I had been sent a $10 off coupon by Macy's for my birthday that says on the front of the coupon it's good for all name brands. Except she was having no part of that! But Macy's sells mostly name brands so I asked her what COULD the coupon be used for? She just shrugged her shoulders. This Macy's is a disgrace, and I don't know why I even ever enter this place. It's always been a disorganized hot mess, and you can never find a sales associate. Today was the last straw. They no longer carry any petites in women's suiting. Good luck finding literally anything in women's business attire under size 10. They no longer carry Ralph Lauren, Marc Fisher, or Sam Edelman pumps anymore except maybe in the desecrated clearance section. And in the year of Our Lord 2022, THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE FITTING ROOMS BACK OPEN. I am aware this may be a "staffing issue," however, a thought for management: it would likely save your sales associates' time to keep ANY fitting rooms open so people don't have to make returns (if they were lucky enough to find anything decent in stock). Went to the register in petites (one of the two items was a petite) & was told, rather rudely, that the register was closed & to go elsewhere. Went to the next ladies register. There were lines on BOTH sides of the register area. I went to the shorter line behind two other customers & waited patiently. Just as the customer in front of me was about to leave, the sales clerk on the other side looked around & snapped at me, saying the line was on her side & to move. Macy's Annapolis MD Furniture Recently purchased a bedroom suite in March 2020 from Macy's in Annapolis Mall Maryland, to replace My aged Ashley bedroom set. What an experience and mistake! The salesperson had no clue on what she was supposed to be selling. We bought a bed headboard set with a adjustable bedstand. The salesperson sold us a Beautyrest mattress and adjustable bedstand (appx $2K). The salesperson said that this was a matching set and would work perfectly. The delivery guys assembled the bed and at that time said that this was the wrong mattress for adj bed stand. So, we had to buy a box spring and return the adj bedstand, another $160.00. The bed (mattress) is unsleepable due to crease from Adj bedstand. Needless to say I feel like I've been taken for a ride from Macy's. It's time to stop purchasing anything from Macy's read more

No stars if I could. Shopped here on a Saturday with my twin teen boys for Homecoming outfits. Store was messy, dressing rooms totally trashed, impossible to find sizes on the racks. A DJ was blasting Milli Vanilli so loud, people were dancing which might be fine but you couldn't even have a conversation. It was like trying to find a needle in a haystack along with bad 80s music. The store is only major department store in the area & just a dump. Overpriced for the experience & dumpy quality, it's why dept stores are dying. read more

Annie was working in the fitting room, measured him, went out to the floor to find pants to fit him & put together a handsome outfit for him! Most Macy's stores come standard, but this one exceeds my expectations as soon as I walk in. The layout is more organized, and most of the associates seem friendlier than most of the Macy's in the Greater Annapolis / DC / Baltimore area. The holidays are always frantic, as expected, but I actually enjoyed the process of shopping here. That's a first! Love the North Face, Clinique, and Tommy Hilfiger selections. The only downside is that the services at the make-up counters are always lacking. There is never an associate to be found. And when you find one, they don't show any kind of expertise about the products they sell. Other than that, this is my favorite Macy's store. Hoping that they start stocking their Burberry watches soon! read more

My mother and I went to this Macy's to purchase a formal tablecloth and napkins. When we arrived to the china area, an associate by the name of ANGEL GASPAROVICH. An "ANGEL" she was. She was very knowledgeable on the products she represented and it was a breath of fresh air. She showed us what we can do to make our table look spectacular, what colors would look best. She also let us know about the sale and our options. Angel was awesome. If you need anything in the linen, china area, go visit Angel. Macy's really need to commend her upon her performance. You don't see this kind of knowledgeable service very much in Macy's. read more

Visited the Annapolis Mall Macy's furniture section because we saw a couch set online that we really liked. Unfortunately, the set we saw online wasn't available. The showroom was limited but had a few good pieces that we liked. The sales person was nice and helpful. The only thing I didn't like was the pressure to get the furniture protection policy. I've been burned in the past with these types of policies - not by Macy's but other furniture stores. Those policies are usually managed by a third party business and they are the worst. Macy's uses a third party company who I looked up while there and they got terrible reviews. We declined the protection policy- the sales woman kept asking us if we are sure. That's my only gripe. The furniture was delivered the next weekend & the delivery guys were great. The furniture was delivered wrapped up so there was no scratches, marks, or stains. Retail workers of Macy's, I understand if the holiday weekends are chaotic and all you want to do is sit down and do nothing, but I shouldn't have to make a joke about stealing a Mother's Day gift for one of your lazy available Coach associates to finally help me. Then, another associate, who appeared to be available as she was aimlessly wandering around with a blank look on her face, at the Michael Kors stand was nothing but rude when I asked to look at one of the watches. I get it. I, too, have worked in retail. But to give your paying customers an attitude as you're chattering up a storm with another associate is a big no in Retail 101. read more

I asked her several times before I returned the item if I can return and order a new item at the same price as the one I received was missing pieces. She assured me I could. WORST JEWELRY STORE I choose Macy's Annapolis to purchase a diamond ring, and unfortunately I regret this decision tremendously. I have purchased a certified diamond ring on November 12, 2015. Sale Associate told me that I could come and pick it up on December 02, 2015 because this was a pre-sale purchase. It was an X3 Certified diamond ring in 18k white. It was all fine till I went back to pick up the ring. The first thing was that I had to wait about an hour just to talk to an associate. After looking around a while, finally she found my ring and pretty much just hand it to me. I thought that was pretty irritating because I don't know how Macy's does it, but I don't think it is very appropriate to hand a thousands of dollar ring without a box or anything in that case. Well after I asked her for a box, she gave me a crappy carton box. I just wanted to get out of there at that point but I remembered that she did not gave me the certificate for the ring, so I told her that this was a certified ring. This ring's original price is $7000. Well she looked at it and said that in fact this was a certified ring, so she started looking for the certificate. Being honest I was not really surprised that she had no idea where was it. She came to me and told me that she had no idea where would it be, she also mention that sometimes they could give out wrong certificate to wrong rings. She also offered me to pick one of those certificates that were closest to my ring. I still can't believe all of this. It is one thing that yeah mistakenly maybe once in a while they give the wrong certificates, but just randomly give the certificates? These are thousands of dollar worth of diamond rings. This is crazy. I told her that I was not going to take some random certificate, and that I was going to come back about a week later. As I told her I came back a week later. This time I actually got to talk to the jewelry department manager, and she looked for the certificate and could not find it even though the week before the lady assured me that they would have it. This time manager told me that they were going to order it and it would take couple weeks, but they took my address and told me that they were going to send it to my house which never happened. They have never called me, and when I called them they were either too busy, or manager was sick or on vacation and they did not know what to do. I have paid thousands of dollars, and I could have bought it from anywhere else and not deal with this nonsense. I decided to go to Macy's Towson, MD , and told them about it. Anetria Newman in the fine jewelry gave me a copy of the original certificate of the ring with the IGI number. They had the same ring there, and contrary to Annapolis store they were extremely nice,too. I took this copy and went to Macy's Annapolis, they took the copy of my paper with my name number, address, and email address just like before. They have promised that it was going to get done blah blah blah... Month ago I went there and she gave me another ring's certificate for the time being and told me that she was going to call me. Today is March 20, 2016. I still have the wrong rings certificate. I shopped in many department stores, and this is the worst experience I have ever had, and if i could give any less star, i definitely would. read more

She seemed very happy in her job and she is Really Great at it!! I love Macy's (although I can't afford to shop there very often) but, in this case, it was a true necessity. I went to the shoe department today to purchase a few pairs of shoes while they're buy more save more promotion is running. Initially the shoe manager spoke and was pleasant. Well when I made my selections and was looking for assistance the same manager made eye contact as if he was coming to assist me and then stop and went to help some other woman who was just walking into the department. I stood there awhile and no one came to assist me. As I was leaving two other managers stopped to ask if everything was okay, as I was explaining the situation the shoe manager comes over and cuts me off as I'm speaking to tell me he's running a department and couldn't help me then. Well to me it would seem that service would be first come first serve but I guess my money isn't good at Macy's Annapolis anymore.
