Date: Monday, January 19th, 2026 What: Boba Tea Delivery Ordered Thru: DoorDash DoubleDash Time Placed: around 4:30pm Time Arrived: about 45 mins later Neighborhood Delivered to: Evergreen *Ceylon Black Tea - Iced ($8.75) - 0% Sugar, 30% Ice (Less Ice), 3Q (Boba & Coconut Jelly & Bo-Bo) I was craving a boba drink. Since I was DD'ing my meal, I decided to add on a tea. When I got it, it was in a hot cup which was odd, but whatever, it's just a vessel for the beverage. When I drank it, it tasted kind of fruity and very light for ceylon black tea. When I looked at the label, I saw they had printed a label for peach tea, but then used a sharpie to cross out the word peach. Why? Why would they do that? Did they think I wouldn't notice? Anyways, I filed a complaint with DD which took some time since they require pictures and the automated AI thingy didn't not accept my picture of the label. I eventually got fully refunded. Idk, I hate writing 1 star reviews, but shame on this establishment for seeming to acknowledge an error by adjusting the label, but serving the wrong item anyways. REVIEW #3967
LOVE IT! King of mango: fresh mangos with coconut milk and tea jelly. Soo delicious on a super hot day and the mangos are so sweet and ripe. Doesn't taste artificial at all. To me this is more of a dessert type of drink. But still sooo good. Orange Li Li tea: fragrant tea with orange pulp. The tea flavor is strong and pairs so well with this fresh orange juice taste and the pulp. I love pulp and the pulp all throughout the drink means I don't need extra toppings! This is my personal go to. I never fail to get this drink. So light and summery!
Macu Tea in California just hits different than in Texas. You can really taste the fresh mango and the fragrant jasmine jelly in the King of Mango, my go-to Macu drink. Would come back to get this a lot!! The Jasmine milk tea was pretty standard. We ordered at the kiosk and grabbed our drinks to go. Just a heads-up: there's an extra charge if you choose to stay and drink in the store.
My sister-in-law and her boyfriend had a hankering for something sweet and so we all went to Macu Tea. Located in a very busy strip mall, Macu Tea is known for their mango drinks. The parking situation at this mall is always busy, and you'll probably have to circle around a couple of times before a spot opens up. You can order through the giant ipad they have or through the wait staff. The person behind the counter was really nice. I went with the King Mango ($8) drink and did not know what I was getting myself into. It is packed with grapefruit, coconut milk, grass jelly, and a blended mango drink. It's quite a concoction that gives hits of sweet, sour, and creamy. Every sip activates a different part of my tongue. I can honestly say it's nothing I've ever had before and was delightfully surprised. If you want something different than your normal boba milk tea, then I would suggest ordering the King Mango.
I ordered the Orange Mango Li-Li Tea with 10% sugar. It was very sweet. It came out within 5 minutes. It had a sweet orange flavor. There's lots of parking in the lot. Great place to hang out with friends or for dates. Store is medium sized and has lots of tables for small gatherings!
Yooo this mango smoothie was sooo good!! I mean it tasted so fresh (bc they use real mangoes) and their salted cheese cream goes sooo well with the drink!! And also the jelly they added tasted really good. Idk if it's because it's been so hot, but this drink is great!!!
Great tea specializing in fruit flavored drinks. The shops in silver creek plaza so parking can be a little hard depending on what time you're coming. The inside is cute. A clean looking interior currently decorated for the holidays. Our drinks weren't overly sweet and felt very fresh either the fruit in it. The drinks took a little bit of time but we only had one server and the couple ahead of us ordered several drinks. Over all worth coming back to.
It's summer which means it's mango season. Macu has my favorite mango drinks - I'd love to try their other drinks, but whenever I go I always end up getting their Chi Chi Mango or King Mango because it's too good to not get. Pro tip for Chi Chi Mango - order from the counter so you can ask them to put the cheese foam on the bottom, it mixes better into the drink. The kiosk is convenient, but I'm not positive the special request portion works correctly because I've asked for cheese foam on the bottom on the kiosk and it hasn't happened unless I ask the worker there specifically for it. The place has some but not a lot of seating, although most people seem tot take out so I've never not had an option when I've wanted to sit. Plenty of parking in this strip mall area.
I've ordered through DoorDash here twice this year so far and the drinks are pretty good. The drinks taste the best when the weather is hot because it's so refreshing and flavorful. I've tried one of their mango drinks here before and today, I tried the matcha tiramisu. The mango drinks are delicious because the mango bits inside are sweet and fresh adding so much flavor to the drinks as a whole. The matcha tiramisu I got was good too. I was worried the matcha would taste fake, but I could surprisingly taste the bitterness to it. The tiramisu cream didn't have much flavor, but I didn't mind because I mainly ordered the drink for the matcha itself. I think the fruit drinks here are what they specialize in, so I would learn towards those more ordering from here!
My brother introduced me to Macy tea on a recent visit to San Jose. Mango smoothie drinks... who can turn that down. We ordered from the counter. You also had an option to order from the kiosk. Service was quick. Ordered the King of Mangoes drink. Mango on top of mango. My favorite fruit in the world. . Delicious! Definitely hits the spot after dinner drink. Will definitely visit again when in the area. Place is well lighted with tables on the side if you decide to sit down.
First time going here and I really enjoyed the drinks I got. I ordered from the mango series and it was so refreshing, perfect for the summer! Indoors seating isn't very big, but the overall space feels nice and chill.
Came here on a Friday night at around 9:30pm after having a late dinner. The store is inside a large plaza which is usually busy on weekends during lunch and dinner hour, but the parking spots clear up later in the night. There were surprisingly many people inside the store considering it was so close to closing; around 3/4 of the tables were taken. I ordered the grape smoothie, which adds green tea jelly, fresh grape bits, and crystal boba. The drink was prepared promptly. The 50% sweetness was, in my opinion, the perfect sweetness. The grape flavor was surprisingly super prominent, and the consistency of the drink was wonderful -- slushy like but not cold enough to the point where your mouth starts to feel a little numb. The crystal boba and green tea jelly were great adds, but I especially loved the fresh grape bits, which added a new texture and freshness to the drink. I don't see grape-flavored drinks often at boba places, so I was very satisfied. Macu Tea has so many unique flavors like chocolate and matcha tiramisu, which I'd love to try. I tried my friends' tea drinks and the tea flavor was prominent and tasted fresh. Would definitely recommend trying it out, and I will be back!
Macu has been my family's go-to boba spot for about a year now. They're best known for their fruit teas, but I personally prefer their milk teas since they're not rich and decadent on the dairy side. My go-to order is the M06 Tieguanyin milk tea, which I customize by adding boba and noodle jelly. The flavor reminds me a lot of TP Tea, if you're curious about a comparison. The customer service has always been consistently good! I'm always greeted when I come in, and some of the staff even check in to see if I need help with the menu.
I've been to the macu in Taiwan so I was excited to see them open in the bay. I ordered a golden leaf milk tea and my friend got an orange mango chi chi for her sister. The music is too loud here or the workers need to use a mic because the order pick up was a disaster. You can't hear what number she's calling out and she's just frantically yelling in the corner. I went up to the counter 3x thinking she called my number but was another order. Finally got my order and was shocked at how white my milk tea was. Golden leaf is a type of oolong tea and all oolong teas I've gotten have been more brown and this looked like jasmine milk tea which is weird. I got my drink at 50% and this drink was so so so sweet. It tastes like 150% and the sugar lingers on your tongue after each sip. You can taste the tea flavor which is good but the sweetness overpowers the tea flavor. The milk tea was $6+ with tax without any toppings. Toppings are also 0.75-1.25 which is annoying. They have QQ jelly but it isn't like the usual QQ noodles(like at tp tea). It basically tastes like crystal boba(agar) in a noodle form. read more
Macu Tea is a Taiwan-based tea chain that has recently opened in the South Bay! The place is very spacious and modern with plenty of seats. They also have boxes of the mangos that they use on the front counter so you know what you're getting is fresh. I got their most popular drink, the king of mango smoothie, and it was really refreshing! I wished there were less toppings though as I feel like it overpowered the mango taste. I likely would come back but would try a different mango drink. read more
The store is super nice and clean! Plenty of chairs and tables. I came here around 6pm on a Saturday and there was no line! Although I know the parking in this plaza tends to be busier during the lunch rush. Staff were friendly and worked very quick to get out my drink. I ordered the Chi Chi Mango Smoothie and it was delicious! I really liked their cheese foam and the green tea jelly it came with. You can really taste the green tea in the jelly. I would definitely come back to try other drinks in their menu! read more
Clean little store with a straightforward menu. It was a little hard to hear our barista call our order number. We went in the late afternoon on a weekday, so it wasn't too busy. We took our drinks out for to-go and they were packaged nicely in a paperbag. Drinkwise, we ordered a few different items for my family. We got the King of Mango Smoothie, Chi Chi Strawberry Smoothie, Matcha Tiramisu, and Sunshine Li Li Tea. Entire concensus was that the drinks we purchased were pretty good and pleasing to look at. However, the drinks did run a bit too sweet for us. read more

4.8 stars! Wow just wow! We were greeted despite it being a busy Saturday. The line went fast. But most importantly, the drinks were outstanding. Made with care, fresh, not too sweet, and worth the price. Did I mention the place is so clean? read more
Seems like a new boba place recently opened up(opened in July)! They were offering samples of their oolong milk tea (regular sweetness) which was really good as is, something I would try next time! There were plenty of tables, great for chatting or working. It was very clean inside, a lot of white lighting and it felt quite spacious inside. There was only one cashier in the back of the store and one restroom. What I ordered! Wintermelon with Fresh milk + boba 8/10 This was creamy and satisfied my cravings for something cold after dinner. I did want to get this drink with grass jelly but they were out at the time. Instead i opted to try their boba which I would say is your standard boba that you can get at most boba places now. (Chewy, no hard center), nothing special about the boba here. Oolong Milk Tea + Boba 7/10 Tasted like a standard oolong milk tea, with regular sweetness I found it to be yummy and slightly creamy. King of Mango Smoothie 9/10 Absolutely loved the combo of mango smoothie with coconut milk and green tea jelly! I would definitely try out their mango drinks as it their signature drinks. read more

Great indoor seating and great spot to hangout with friends! I like that they are open till 10pm so when the late night cravings hit, you have a reliable spot close by. I have been twice now with my brother & friend. Day seems to be relatively chill with 1 or 2 people. However, late night around 9pm it was pretty busy with people coming in & out as groups. We ordered the matcha tiramisu and the king mango smoothie (mix your drinks to get the perfect sip!). Heads up, the price point is a bit higher than other boba shops. The dessert drinks/smoothies come out to around $8.20 with tax. read more

We got the CUTEST Snoopy marshmallow with our combo order! Macu Tea is doing a promotion this month where you can buy one of their two combo drinks and you get a free Snoopy marshmallow! :) You can choose Combo A or Combo B, which both consist of a smoothie and a black tea with small variations. My friend got the Bo-Bo Strawberry Smoothie and I got the Chi-Chi Ceylon Black Tea. The cheese foam was thick, creamy, and blended very well with the Ceylon black tea. I got 50% sweetness but I still thought it was a bit on the sweeter side. My other friend got the Mango Smoothie, which she always raves about. Macu Tea always uses fresh mango in their drinks and you can be sure of it because they stack their cases of fresh mango along the wall for you to see! The inside is super neat and clean, and the servers were really friendly! I'm excited to see if they do more of these combo deals with a mystery marshmallow each month. read more

There are alot of boba spots open in this plaza (its in the same plaza as happy lemon, hue) but this spot is now my favorite! I love the golden leaf milk tea w/ pearls. This drink reminds me of light oolong tea and was super refreshing. Their pearls are really good as well, super soft/chewy. I also tried their ceylon milk tea and it's solid, but I'll definitely be coming here for the golden leaf mt (will be back weekly) read more

Lucky for me, Macu Tea finally opened this last weekend! I was overjoyed to learn that Macu Tea was coming to San Jose. Stepping into the new boba shop, the area is clean and there was lots of seating for customers waiting for drinks or to just hang out. The colors are modern with the white walls, fixtures, and seats. As you walk in, there are cases of fruit along the walls and front counter. To order, you approach the front counter cashier. The cashier was knowledgeable on promotions and the differences between each drink. I would've liked bigger menus around closer to the counter so that I could have a better idea of what I wanted to order before I got to the cashier. After ordering, your number is printed on a receipt. Even though it was their grand opening weekend, we only waited 15-20 min! What a feat. Although the order line is kind of slow, the drinks came out surprisingly fast. They can be picked up around the other side of the counter. During their grand opening week, they also provided these single drink holders. So cute! So far, I have tried: Chi-Chi Mango, King of Mango, Golden Leaf Tea with Chi-Chi, and the QQ Passion Fruit Tea. I think my favorite, by far, is the Chi-Chi Mango. "Chi-Chi" is the cheese foam on a drink! The Golden Leaf tea with Chi-Chi (promotion) was good, but it didn't satisfy a craving. There was a strong tea flavor and the cream was a nice compliment to make the drink creamy. The QQ Passion Fruit Tea (promotion) also confused me. I wasn't expecting so many toppings (2-3 kinds, I think) and it felt more like a snack than a drink. It overall was too sweet for me at 100% sweetness since the jelly toppings were not well-balanced with the already sweet fruitness of teh drink. I would suggest no lychee jelly. The King of Mango is a good drink, but is also very dense. There's so much to mix in order to get the full flavors. It is a little tough for the coconut taste to come through, but it is good! I'm not sure if I would get it again, just not for me. The Chi-Chi Mango is definitely my favorite! I love the complementary cheese foam to the soft-blended mango drink. It adds a creaminess to deepen the flavor of the sweet, fruit mango blend. I would definitely get it again -- every time if I could. Overall, I don't mind the ordering line since the drinks come out quickly! I would say they are most popular for fruit drinks, especially mango. If you were expecting something else, don't come here. read more
I was in the area and stopped by this plaza to grab some refreshing beverages for the day. By luck, we stumbled upon their grand opening day, featuring an enticing BOGO deal that we couldn't resist! The offer included a choice of one drink from a selection of three, accompanied by a pre-selected free drink of the day. The interior was nice and clean, the lines also moves pretty quickly. After ordering, the cashier informed us that there might be a bit of a wait, but to our surprise, it wasn't bad at all! We waited for about 5 minutes at most, which indicated that they had their system well-organized. Here's what we tried: King of Mango smoothie ($8.20 w/ tax): This was apparently their most popular drink, so I was expecting a lot. The large-sized smoothie came with an array of toppings, including green tea jelly, mango chunks, coconut milk, and grapefruit. It was pretty refreshing, I love that with every sip, I get something a little different. The coconut milk definitely added a lot of flavor and creaminess to the drink. It is a relatively expensive drink so I don't think it wowed me enough. QQ Passion Fruit drink (FREE): Opting for a 30% sweetness level, we found this passion fruit drink to be just right! I especially like the topping it came with, it doesn't quite taste like boba but like a more firm & yet bouncy boba's cousin. However, it's worth noting that the drink had a significant amount of pulp, which might not appeal to those who aren't fond of orange pulp. read more
We came on their grand opening B1G1. You choose of one of three drinks and they give you the pre-selected drink of the day. I think they focus more on fruity drinks and basic milk teas. So you won't find things like taro here. King of Mango Smoothie comes as is, it wasn't terrible, but wasn't great either. The free drink they gave us was QQ Passion Fruit. We asked for 30% sweetness and it was still extremely sweet - gave me a sour face. The little bits felt weird. I wouldn't order this drink off the menu. Maybe their basic teas are good? read more

My friend got the Yakult w/ Passionfruit tea (less ice and 80% sweet) and I got the Mango and Orange Li Li Tea (50% sweet and less ice). I highly recommend the drink I ordered, it's extremely refreshing and I enjoy the fresh mango in the drink. My friend also really enjoyed her drink, but she would get it 50% sweet next time (it all depends on preference). The service is always fast and pleasant and the ambiance is always great. It's become pretty popular, so there might be a little bit of a wait and line, but I personally don't mind it. There is a good amount of seating and a lot of parking. Overall, I highly recommend giving this place a try. read more

Came here after Hue and this place is a yes from me! I stopped by here with a few friends and we all just got the mango drinks from this place. It's a small store but I do love that it just primarily focuses on mango drinks as their star. Of course they have other things too. I got the King of Mango Smoothie and I can say it was refreshing and it had that strong mango flavor. It comes with green tea jelly, grapefruit pulp, and coconut milk. The overall mango in this tasted pretty fresh and ripe and it had a good amount of toppings added inside as well. Make sure you mix everything up all together so you're not just gulping just one part of the drink! Overall, a great dessert spot with real delicious fruit flavors blended inside. I'll definitely stop by again. read more
Drink was 6.5/10 and service was 9/10! It was my first time trying this place! When we first walked in, it was very bright! The whole store was white with some hints of color. I really liked the layout! I like a simple minimalistic look. I like the pictures of some of their drinks on the wall that describes what's in it. It was interesting and informative! I had the cashier recommend me the Orange & Mango LiLi Tea. I got it regular sweetness and regular ice level. They informed me that they don't use fruit syrups and use the natural sweetness of the fruit which is very good to hear for those that don't like flavored syrup! The chunks of mango were mainly the soft mango which I really like because it's sweeter than hard mango. Although I liked the sweetness of the mango, I could barely taste the other ingredients in the drink. I felt like it was mainly a mango drink. It lacked in the tea flavor as well as the orange. I feel like maybe if they added more tea and maybe some orange slices then I would've given the drink a better rating, but this is where I currently stand. The service was pretty good! The cashier was very informative and very helpful when deciding on what to get! They were going as fast as they could when making and sending out the drinks, so I'm not really complaining on the wait time. I overheard the cashier saying to a customer that they're closed and it was 9PM. I think they should update their hours because on Yelp it said they closed at 10PM. Overall, I would try this place again for their other items! read more

Hi Tiffany,…
We came on a Sunday night an hour before closing and no matter how cold it is, there's always a line for boba lol. Lighting is bright here and plenty of seating. Nicely decorated. We ordered the mango drink and it had bits of grapefruit - a bit bitter for my taste. But the drink was still good. The plaza can be a rough place for parking during peak meal hours. But target is next door if needed. read more

I spent a total of $25 with tips for 3 drinks. I got a milk tea at 80% sugar and 50% ice. It was a bit too sweet for me. But the tea and milk were balanced. next time I'm getting it at 50% sugar. I also got two other drinks. I got the Matcha tiramisu and the winter melon lemonade one for my sisters. They said they enjoyed it. Service was fast. I came on a Saturday night at 8pm and there were barely anyone there. No crowds but customers come one after the other. I'm fine with that as long as I don't waste time waiting. I like the space and can see myself catching up with girlfriends next time here. read more

I get the matcha tiramisu. No adjustments allowed because it's blended but it's not too sweet anyways. Honestly tastes more like matcha Oreo which I don't mind but if you're looking for that tiramisu flavor then I'd get something else. They have a lot of seating in the small store. The parking lot can get busy during the day. read more
(From 10/15/2023) @macutea_norcal | boba & drinks Chi-Chi Grape Smoothie QQ Passion Fruit Drink Multiple locations. This one is in Berryessa San Jose. Restrooms on-site. Seating available. Modern and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. Happy Grand Opening to @macutea_norcal, a fruit tea and milk tea brand from Taiwan! The Chi-Chi Grape Smoothie was my fave! The grape flavor tasted like real grapes, not artificial or medicinal. The QQ Passion Fruit was on the tart side even at 100% sweet. The 2 drinks were from their BOGO free deal as a part of their grand opening special. Be sure to check their IG page for more deals :) read more

Hi Jennifer,…
Fresh and delicious! This is yet ANOTHER tea place in this plaza, but their most popular items seem to be the fruit smoothies. I tried the King of Mango and Chi-Chi Strawberry Smoothies. Both were really good - thick and creamy. I like the toppings. Service was good and wait time is reasonable. The smoothies are a bit pricey at $7.50 (on the higher end of the average milk tea store), which is why I'm giving it a 4/5. read more

I had one of the worst experiences here. The employee named Tuyen was extremely rude -- she was openly cursing in Vietnamese while helping me, messed up my drink completely, and when I pointed it out, she refused to fix it or give me a refund. I left with the wrong drink and a really unpleasant experience. Totally unprofessional and disappointing. I won't be coming back, and I'd warn others to avoid this location until they improve their customer service. read more
