FRAUD ALERT Laurie worked on our home and office computers for yrs until she ghosted us after we paid for a new desktop and misc services in 2022. Laurie is essentially a bright person but over the past few years her interpersonal skills have declined. The last two times I've reached out for support with products she comes across as arrogant, condescending, and a complete know it all who doesn't listen to the problem. She also becomes really defensive if it's something that she can't fix and begins trying to shame the client if they don't know as much about computers -- or know different things than she does. I think with work and attitude correction she can get back to where she belongs -- up in the five star category -- but right now she just isn't delivering. read more

I hired Laurie to come to my home to troubleshoot my iMac. She wasn't able to fix it and said I needed to replace the drive with solid state. She estimated the repair would take a few days. We agreed on a price and she took the machine back to her shop. A week later I asked for an update, and she said a part she needed was backordered. A week later, same thing. I had explained that I absolutely needed my machine restored within two weeks. After three weeks she stopped communicating altogether and I lost work because of it. Alarmed by her silence, I asked a friend to contact her to see if she'd respond. She answered his request immediately, which indicated to me that she was just ignoring my pleas to return my iMac. After 5 weeks I staked out her shop on Atlantic ave. When she came outside to smoke a cigarette I stood between her and the front entrance, threatened to call the police, and demanded she return my computer. At first she accused me of 'constantly calling her' (as if a four week delay was acceptable), After making excuses about water damage and finally admitted she has "issues", she finally returned my computer. The sense I got is that, while she's probably a very skilled Mac repairperson based on reviews from many years ago, she's become extremely unreliable - be it "water damage" or whatever. I'm not the only one who has had trouble - read the Google reviews. Finally: I brought my machine to a shop in Williamsburg and it was repaired within 2 days for half what she was going to charge me. read more

My iMac 27" hard drive went out 2 years ago. She replaced it quickly with a SSD 500gb that has performed flawlessly and relieved me of constantly having to juggle file storage on external drives. That I had updated backups allowed her to restore it with no data loss. Very happy with the service. I would certainly consider using Laurie's consulting services as well, as she answered a number of questions that helped me make decisions about websites and hosting packages.
