    I recently visited Apple Downtown Brooklyn on Flatbush Ave, and overall I'd give it 3 stars…read more On the positive side, the store itself is clean, modern, and well-organized--exactly what you expect from Apple. Many staff members are friendly and knowledgeable, and when you do get help, the service can feel thorough and professional. A lot of customers echo this, noting helpful interactions and strong product knowledge. That said, the experience is inconsistent. The biggest issue is support--both in terms of availability and capability. Wait times can be long, and it's not always clear who is available to help. More frustratingly, I've been told on multiple occasions that certain issues "can't be handled in-store," which feels limiting for a location that's supposed to offer full service and Genius Bar support. This aligns with broader feedback about the store: while many people have positive experiences, others mention delays and uneven service depending on timing or staff. Overall, it's a convenient location with potential, but the inconsistency in support and limitations on what can actually be done in-store make it hard to fully rely on.

    Booked an online appointment to replace my iPhone battery. Checked in on time, then waited 20…read moreminutes past my appointment before anyone helped me. First employee tried to talk me into buying a new phone because mine was already almost two years old. Then told me, despite what the Apple app said, the battery couldn't be replaced that day. I explained I only wanted the battery replaced since new phones come out in September. That employee disappeared, and a second person told me the battery wasn't in stock and would take three days to arrive -- plus another two hours for the actual repair. The Genius Bar feels like the Gaslighting Bar. I did my research and only wanted a replacement battery but they made me sit through a sales pitch. If they knew the battery I needed wasn't in stock why would they take the appointment? Apple loves to seem green, promoting repairability in theory, but in practice the process is designed to push customers toward buying new devices.

    I had a horrible experience here. I would not recommend this business to anyone, unless you were…read morelooking for printing. Their stuff looks good. My Droid phone had a cracked screen (they called it the digitizer), and I took it in to be repaired. They had me put down a deposit of half the amount for them to order the part, since it's not one they keep in stock. I was fine with this. A few days later, I got the call saying that my digitizer had come in. I took my phone in, and was without my phone for a few days (after being told it would be a few hours). When I finally got the phone back, it looked messed up. The speaker cover (it's metal) was all bent up, there was glue seeping out of several places, and a part of the back cover kept coming off. I was just glad that it was fixed, though, and went on my way. After trying to have several phone conversations and discovering that I couldn't be heard on the phone, I took it back in to them. They kept it for a week, but couldn't figure out what went wrong. They finally explained that it worked with a headset. I went in and talked to them, and figured out MYSELF in less than five minutes (of talking, not looking at parts, I'm not one to know how to do that) that it was the microphone. I was assured that they would order the microphone that day, and that they would have the phone fixed and working within two days. I said OK and left. After thinking more about it, I decided that I didn't want it messed up more. I went to Verizon (my carrier) and asked if I could get it repaired through them. I was told that I'd have to buy a "preowned" phone for nearly $300. I went back to Computer Wiz to get the phone and a refund. They tried for a long while to tell me I could not have a refund. It was only after I said that I would contact my credit card company and have the charges reversed that they refunded my money. When I went in , I had to argue with the tech person, the manager, and another person who works there to get my refund. I will say that the guy working the counter felt sorry for me enough to give me a plug in headset so that I was able to use my phone.
