It's not always one and done when it comes to identifying an issue, and Mike was very clear about that.

Many staff members are friendly and knowledgeable, and when you do get help, the service can feel thorough and professional. A lot of customers echo this, noting helpful interactions and strong product knowledge. That said, the experience is inconsistent. The biggest issue is support--both in terms of availability and capability. Wait times can be long, and it's not always clear who is available to help. More frustratingly, I've been told on multiple occasions that certain issues "can't be handled in-store," which feels limiting for a location that's supposed to offer full service and Genius Bar support. This aligns with broader feedback about the store: while many people have positive experiences, others mention delays and uneven service depending on timing or staff. Overall, it's a convenient location with potential, but the inconsistency in support and limitations on what can actually be done in-store make it hard to fully rely on.

I didn't have much hope but I work from my phone- my whole life is on there and I was locked out of my apple account bc I changed my number so I was very desperate to find anyone that could help me out. I had a 6pm appt and was taken in fairly quickly, two team members came but the one that has left a lasting impression on me was Jason. He's a genius and he actually needs to be promoted to manager or given a weekly demo class to teach customers/staff how he does what he does. He was not only friendly, professional and prompt, but I watched him help so many other ppl during my appt and they all left looking very happy and pleased with his service. He work relentlessly on my phone and somehow was able to get into it on a remote viewing screen, unlock it, update my phone settings so I can transfer my data to another phone (all free) and it was NOT easy but he did not give up or try to up-sell me a new device. He was very compassionate and I can tell that although he was under pressure, he was consistent in his professionalism, he was tenacious in figuring out how to not only safely transfer my data, make sure my new device was working, and that I was kept in the loop about what he was able to do. He even taught me how to troubleshoot my phone in the event that it ever happened again. I think he's the best person on the team and this location made a good call on making him a team member. I found myself asking him if he does IT work outside of apple bc, he literally deserves a higher pay, larger platform and maybe his own teaching segment at apple- idk but the guys a rockstar. While he was working on my phone, another team member came to him to show him their improvement on their own performance and cited him as inspiration. I'm lucky to have gotten him as my customer service help. Jason, you're amazing and you should definitely be promoted to a higher position/salary. Possibly even explore other opportunities that showcase your talents. I hope this year is prosperous for you and thank you again for the crazy work you did on my phone!!

PC Richards was there for us. They had a good selection of dishwashers in the brand (Bosch) and price range (mid) we were looking, and their prices turned out to be better than the other competitors I looked at. More importantly, their delivery could happen sooner, and cheaper. There ended up being a hiccup in delivery that was mostly my fault, and when I called and e-mailed in to figure it out, P.C. Richards' responses were surprisingly quick and on point. They were even nice enough not to blame me for all the problems. I have come to expect so little of customer service reps that this was a breath of fresh air. Once we got the delivery day and time actually figured out, the technician was on time, efficient, and nice enough. There was an extra outlet that needed to be created to install so there was an extra charge I wasn't expecting, but I imagine that's just how this goes sometimes. All in all, a lot less painless than it could have been, and I truly appreciate not having to wash all my dishes by hand.

Despite the great experiences I have had…read morespeaking with in-store agents at the Steinway location, my delivery experience yesterday has left me done doing business with them for good. Two guys delivered the machine. Upon arrival, there was a dent towards the bottom of the machine [see pic]. I was under the impression that I would have the machine installed for free at the same time as delivery. One of the guys assured me that the installation was an additional $120 and said that I could either call and schedule an installation for a later time or pay him $120, "off the record" via cash, venmo, or zelle, to have it installed then. I was pretty sure I chose this particular machine because it came with free installation. When I picked up my phone and said I was going to call to verify, the guy said, "nevermind, we don't have hoses on us so you'll have to call to schedule an installation at a later time anyway." I was able to verify with a representative over the phone that I did indeed have free installation for this item. This guys' sketchy attempt at a side-hustle threw me off. After the guys left, I noticed they did not place the laundry machine all the way in the room, so it was blocking my bathroom door. "The Product Weight is 302 Lbs." - over twice my own body weight. When I tried to move it, it wouldn't budge. I have one bathroom in this apartment and as it was my Saturday, I had plans later that evening. Point blank, I needed my bathroom. When I called to complain they said there was nothing they could do about moving the machine until the scheduled delivery date, which was scheduled for 6 days later. They also had the audacity to say that the picture that the delivery man took looked like the machine was already placed all the way inside the room and when they spoke to him, he said my bathroom shouldn't have been blocked. Undermining a claim I could so easily prove was nothing short of the unprofessionalism inculcating this entire experience [see video]. While on the phone, I was told that the guys had already left and were en route back to the factory. Nothing could be done. I had to cancel my evening plans and spend the next 6 hours trying to find help. Thank God for Taskrabbit! I was finally able to get someone on Taskrabbit to come help me move the machine 13" back [see attached picture]. The customer service rep. did provide a $60 reimbursement from the company for the inconvenience of it all, but in my opinion that is nothing compared to the time it took for me to correct the negligence of the low grade worker this company is choosing to be represented by. Prior to the deliverer's arrival I was trying to place another order with PC Richard & Son for a T.V., another costly service. Thank God that did not go through! I took my services to BestBuy instead. Because of this experience, PC Richard & Son has lost a loyal customer. I will never purchase anything from them again and advise anyone who is scheduling a delivery service to think twice beforehand, and consider the possibility that whoever you get, might try to scam you.

My Droid phone had a cracked screen (they called it the digitizer), and I took it in to be repaired. They had me put down a deposit of half the amount for them to order the part, since it's not one they keep in stock. I was fine with this. A few days later, I got the call saying that my digitizer had come in. I took my phone in, and was without my phone for a few days (after being told it would be a few hours). When I finally got the phone back, it looked messed up. The speaker cover (it's metal) was all bent up, there was glue seeping out of several places, and a part of the back cover kept coming off. I was just glad that it was fixed, though, and went on my way. After trying to have several phone conversations and discovering that I couldn't be heard on the phone, I took it back in to them. They kept it for a week, but couldn't figure out what went wrong. They finally explained that it worked with a headset. I went in and talked to them, and figured out MYSELF in less than five minutes (of talking, not looking at parts, I'm not one to know how to do that) that it was the microphone. I was assured that they would order the microphone that day, and that they would have the phone fixed and working within two days. I said OK and left. After thinking more about it, I decided that I didn't want it messed up more. I went to Verizon (my carrier) and asked if I could get it repaired through them. I was told that I'd have to buy a "preowned" phone for nearly $300. I went back to Computer Wiz to get the phone and a refund. They tried for a long while to tell me I could not have a refund. It was only after I said that I would contact my credit card company and have the charges reversed that they refunded my money. When I went in , I had to argue with the tech person, the manager, and another person who works there to get my refund. I will say that the guy working the counter felt sorry for me enough to give me a plug in headset so that I was able to use my phone.
