Nothing but great things to say about Peter! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! I contacted him to help us design and install an updated WiFi system in our 3 story brownstone. Which can be a challenge due to the construction characteristics of brownstones. He was fantastic! Incredibly responsive and proactive throughout the entire process. Designed a very cost-effective and aesthetically pleasing solution. The actual install was fast, totally painless and stress free. Thanks to him we're now enjoying super fast speeds all over the house!! read more

I learned about Brooklyn Tech Guy years ago from Park Slope Parents recommendations. Whenever I have a tech issue I always think of Peter. He's a wealth of knowledge and a local father too. Thank you Peter! read more

I should start by saying that Peter is really good at what he does. Not only from a technical standpoint -- he keeps on top of all the latest developments -- but he's also a genuinely nice guy and he'll take the time to explain what he's going to do before he does it. Which is more than I can say for a lot of his "competitors." His service hearkens back to the days when doctors paid house calls -- and let's face it, isn't that what we're all yearning for? A little capital S Service? Don't hesitate to give him a call. read more

I've worked with a lot of different IT people in the past, and Brooklyn Tech Guy is the best there is! I work for a video production agency and he helped get our editing server up and running to the best possible speeds. He did a lot of research about our specific equipment beforehand, as to be quick and efficient when he was in our studio. Such a great IT professional who genuinely cares about your tech needs. Our company will definitely be back when we have other needs! read more

I had a great experience talking to the Brooklyn Tech Guy about the problem I was having. He explained a lot to me over the phone regarding my problems to help me figure out how best to address it. He was by far one of the most knowledgeable people I contacted from Yelp regarding my particular internet installation. Although I ended up not needing to hire him, I would not hesitate to call on him again in the future if I have a problem because of how generous he was with his time on the phone to help me and how experienced he is. read more

Here's the note I wrote to Peter after his visit: Hi Peter, Great meeting you yesterday! The computer seems to be running much more smoothly now! I think you saved me $2k. Thanks! I ordered that drive you recommended, and I'll start saving up for the inevitable new computer. Gratefully Yours, Alex Peter arrived on time, was friendly and communicative, and really helped salvage my Mac. I'll definitely be calling him in the future for help with my post apple-care products. read more

Peter is great. I'm just tech savvy enough to know when someone knows their business, and Peter will absolutely be my first choice. 1. Prompt return of my intro email (also responsive to txt and phone) 2. Appt within 48hrs 3. Called because he was running "late" ie, less than 5 minutes. 4. Immediately assessed the wireless issues in our old, funky building, and within 30 minutes had everything up and running beautifully. 5. Looked for ways to save money. 6. Total cost was very reasonable 7. Peter is a very nice guy and clearly takes pride and concern with his work. read more

Thank you Peter! I had adware on my computer and couldn't get rid of it... One service -who sounded mighty friendly - offered to fix the problem for $180. Peter was amazing. Fast, knowledgable and friendly! We run a digital printmaking studio and pretty computer savvy so we don't often need support , but when we do it need to be expert and Peter quickly solved our issues and improved overlooked areas of our network. Thanks to Covid my wife and I had to rearrange our at home working arrangements and this necessitated an additional wifi system to be operational in the top and bottom of an old victorian home. These guys analyzed the best system, using what we had and what we needed to purchase. They were quick, incredibly professional and friendly and followed up a few days later to check how it was going. I couldn't ask for a better experience. Would only want to work with them for all future tech issues. Even if I move to another country! read more

Brooklyn Tech Guy is my go-to source for all things networking and "deep space" teach...you know, that really complicated but important stuff. On a more serious note: I'm pretty nerdy and competent when it comes to technology, the importance of it, and how to leverage what's out there but I still find it so important to have someone like Brooklyn Tech Guy in my corner to make sure everything is installed, up & running and managed; properly. Can't recommend these guys enough, they are so knowledgeable and friendly. Stop worrying and stressing about your tech problems in the workplace and just give Brooklyn Tech Guy a call, they'll get you set up / fixed up the right way! read more

Peter is phenomenal. My business, Oliphant Studio, had a series of unfortunate events regarding email issues. I was distraught, and exhausted from dealing with a massive email hack due to low security measures from our previous email host. With compassion, patience and clarity, Peter guided us through transitioning to G-Suite for our email needs. He provides immediate support, and always responds promptly to concerns we have via email or phone, as well as in person. It's such a relief to have an honest and trustworthy PERSON to assist with tech support. I wholeheartedly recommend Peter's services to anyone and everyone! read more

I thought I just needed a little help with my Mac, but Peter from Brooklyn Tech Guy was able to fix a wonky WiFi, clean up all the cables littering my desk and give me some excellent buying advice. I was about to buy a new computer and Peter gave me some convincing reasons to make some minor upgrades to my current system because he is in the know and says new models are coming soon. He saved me from a potentially thousand dollar mistake. He is smart, personable, knowledgeable and the best tech I have ever met. Kudos to you, Brooklyn Tech Guy. read more

Fixed my macbook pro for a fraction of the regular price, and cleaned it up to make it run much faster. Definitely will be coming back

Peter is a really knowledgable, helpful, honest guy. He gets back to you fast, knows his stuff, and will solve your problem. I used to haul my gear to Tekserve (now closed); this is way better. He gives great advice beforehand to see if there are any "easy" fixes, and if not, makes a house call, possibly that day if you call early enough. Great experience. read more

Peter did a great job fixing my Mac. He knows more than any other tech guy that I have ever met. He is great at explaining complex things in a simple way and he's just as good with phone support and follow up. If you have a Mac and need help, this is your guy. read more

Peter did an outstanding job on all three of the projects he completed for me this year. In each case, he listened well to understand exactly what I needed, explained his proposed solution clearly, executed flawlessly, made sure everything was in order and working before he left, and checked in the next day to make sure I hadn't experienced any issues. Where he needed additional help, he brought in another contractor, who was also excellent. His billing was transparent and fair. And he's a nice guy! read more

My hard drive died, and then, far worse, my backup failed. It was a sick feeling. As a freelance web developer, my computer is everything. What to do? I called Peter, and he patiently walked me through my options and made recommendations of where to go for help, bearing in mind that every day without my computer was a day of lost hours and agitated clients. It worked out okay in the end -- most of the most important data was recovered. And my clients are still my clients. And Peter... well, Peter is my hero. He doesn't just know his stuff; he knows how to treat people. I feel incredibly lucky to know he's there when trouble strikes. read more

Great service. Friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. Highly recommend to anyone looking for tech help.

After getting a bunch of adware on my mac I called a computer repair place in Ditmas Park and was told it would cost $150 for removal of the offending software and that I would have to leave my computer all weekend. I called Peter for a second quote and over the phone he pointed me to adwaremedic.com, where it takes all of 2 minutes to download the software that removes all the adware for free (and an optional donation). I am so grateful to him and will call him for all computer issues in the future. Great businessman and very nice person. read more

Peter helped patch up my aging iMac with a RAM upgrade and new backup drive, and retrieved from an old external drive a bunch of photos and documents I thought were long gone. He was also mindful about keeping my expenses on replacement parts within reason and walked me through a few things over the phone, thus saving me the cost of having him visit. He's punctual, efficient, and a super nice guy. I am never hauling a desktop computer to Manhattan for repair again! read more

Peter is fantastic. I've used him a few times now and he's always professional, friendly & efficient. My first problem was a long-running problem -- I have a very large music collection (150GB+ & always growing) & my hard drive was close to running out of space. The standard Genius bar response (export itunes to a remote drive) did not appeal to me: if the point of having a laptop is portability, why would I want a solution that would require me to carry around the laptop and another device? So I tried to rearrange the library on my own with some of my music files were on the laptop & others were in a remote drive. After about a year of doing this, itunes lost 70% of my music files -- all my music was listed in itunes, but the actual files themselves were lost. Turns out itunes is very particular over where the actual files live, & with all the rearranging I tried to do, I unwittingly spread the files over hundreds of folders and subfolders. It was a horrifying mess. Peter came over & reorganized all my music files first, then installed a higher capacity hard drive, and pointed me to easy backup solutions. Wouldn't you know it a few months later, my motherboard died (2006 macbook). Peter again suggested alternatives and considerations to take into account for deciding whether to go through with the repair, or whether to buy a new computer (including where to resell parts). He says it best on his website: like having your own personal Genius who also makes house calls. He's also an Apple-certified consultant, so he's got the corporate seal of approval. read more

This guy is REALLY good ... beyond my expectations. I have many years experience with Macs. More than I care to count, at the moment. And I'm pretty competent about getting a Mac up-&-running when it suddenly decides to crap out. But when my current iMac (which is already 5 years old) started to crash at every turn, I knew I needed a second pair of eyes to look at the problems I was having. He was an incredible help onsite; and he also researched some of the problems I was having, on his own time ... & he offered insightful solutions. I cannot speak highly enough about Peter ... He was knowledgeable, helpful, and gracious. I used him for my old computer, and I intend to use him to help set up my new computer. He is truly my go-to guy for Macs !!! read more

I could not survive without Peter Lopez. Peter really helped me out of a jam. My work computer was totally frozen with some malicious site that did so many pop ups that I could not even open my browser. I called him and told him I was in the middle of a deal and HAD to get back online. He agreed to come 2 hours later. Then he called me back 2 or 3 times asking me to try various fixes that he walked me through. One of them worked thank god and I was back online 30 minutes after our first phone call.
