I was recently involved in a little fender bender which led to my bumper getting cracked. I went to a couple places to get an estimate and they all took a quick look and gave me a quick estimate. When I went to Mac's they took a look at my car and sat down and put together a real estimate and were very friendly. They also gave me a couple options and seemed very knowledgeable which was incredibly helpful. It was an easy decision to bring my car here. They called when my bumper was in and I stopped by so they could make sure my bumper and color were correct real quick. At this point, I'm just going to say what everyone else has already said, but it still is worth repeating: So often, going to a garage is something that people dread, and based on a lot of garages, that's for a good reason. It's such a relief to go somewhere that you actually feel like the people care and actually want to help you out as much as possible. I had my Honda Civic hit head on and had to have the front of the car pretty much completely reassembled. From the moment I took the car in to when they had it out of the shop, the guys at Mac's (especially Jeff) kept me informed, were helpful, and completely (amazingly so compared to my general experiences with car shops) professional. They had it out of the shop before they told me it would, and my car looked better than it even had before the accident when I left with it. On top of that, once I took my car back, I noticed that one of my tires had a nail in it, which I thought was probably from the shop since it wasn't giving me any troubles before I brought it in. A lot of garages would have tried to get around taking responsibility for something like that, but Mac's took my car back in, had the tire taken of and fully repaired without giving me the slightest trouble about it. On top of that, they noticed a nick I got during the horrible snowstorm we're having here right now and even though that had absolutely nothing to do with them, offered to refix that for me as well. Went back to Mac's today to get a price on replacing a broken door handle. Jeff took at look at the handle and the door itself, and suggested that either the cracked part could be epoxied, or the part could be replaced. He called the parts vendor and learned that the part was a couple hundred dollars, and that it would require a few hours of work to take the door apart, etc. Soooo needless to say, he had the guys epoxy the handle. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes, and he wouldn't take any of my money. I have brought every car I've ever had to Mac's, and this is exactly why. read more

I can not begin to explain to you how happy I am with the service I received at macs auto body. I was side swiped in Cambridge and was looking for an auto body place in the area. I brought in the insurance claim info and dave communicated directly back and forth with the insurance company to make sure everything was covered. Not only was that handled perfectly but he also fixed some scrapes and bumps that I had on the car previously free of charge. He noticed the air bag light was going off so had it brought to the dealership to get that checked out, while it was there they discovered there were 4 other recalls on the car that were all taken care of. Finally getting around to writing a review here. In November, a tree jumped in my way (totally not my fault) when I was backing up, causing damage to my quarter panel. I got an estimate at another highly rated autobody shop in Somverville-estimate was almost $4000!! Took it to Mac's, they got it done for around $1200, a bit under their estimate even. Can't even tell there was a dent, perfect matching of color and all. Took a while to get appt, which wasn't a problem since it was drivable while I was waiting. They got it done in the estimated time and offered to stay a bit late so I could pick up the car after work. Only trouble was they don't take credit card. Friendly, helpful people! read more

To say this place exceeded my expectations is a bit of an understatement. I brought a car in just yesterday with some serious scrapes and some bumper damage. I met with Jeff, who gave a fair estimate and promised to get the job done as quickly as possible. True to his word, I got a call today saying it would be ready by the end of the day. I just picked it up, and it looks better than new. You can't even tell where the markings were. The scrapes are gone, and the mangled plastic is perfect. Mac's is the best auto body shop EVER. I brought my car there after getting into an accident, and they were extremely nice and helpful, and they really went above and beyond. First, they secured the bumper so that the car was drive-able around town for a couple days before they had room in the shop for my car (at no charge). And they were nice and friendly about it too. Next, I left my car there for the week and when I picked it up they had not only fixed the car perfectly -- it looks even better than it did before the accident! -- but they also cleaned the car inside and out (which is definitely not standard or required). I had to have my car mirror replaced in Summer 2015, and Mac's came highly recommended. My timeline was short - it was broken on a Monday, and I was leaving on a trip on Friday - so I brought it in right away. Mac was able to have his supplier deliver the part same-day, and was able to salvage some of the mirror assembly so my total cost was below what I was expecting, based on the worst-case scenarios I had been told. This place is great. The work they did on my 2010 Nissan Altima was flawless. The work was done fast and Mac's kept me informed every step of the way. When I went to pick up my car they gave me a couple of small gifts, like a red sox schedule magnet, a key chain flash light, etc, it definitely was a nice touch to an already great experience. Hands down the best thing about this place was, they had the interior of my car detailed before I picked it up. My car hasn't looked this great since the day I drove it off the dealership lot. If you commute in the Boston area, its almost inevitable you will need a body shop. Got rear ended and wanted to find a shop in the Davis area....I'd driven past this place a million times but never even noticed it tucked into the corner. I got my car fixed here about a month ago and I must say the service was exceptional!!! They're very professional and friendly. I loved how they kept me updated the entire time they had my car. They worked with my insurance so definitely less headaches for me. I got my car back a little earlier then estimated and the CLEANED it! My car looked almost brand new when I picked it up. Mac's Auto Body is simply an outstanding shop. Extremely professional, totally trustworthy. I have had my car repaired there twice and they did an excellent job both times. The car looks like new. They even threw in some touchups where my bumper had been nicked. Because my car is only a couple years old, they made every effort to get OEM parts and will pressured the insurance company to pay for them (they did). You never hope to need body work, but if I do need it in the future I will certainly be returning to Mac's every time. read more

I am came in last week and they quoted me for a job for $2900....told me it would take a week and a half....I went to another autobody shop and he fixed it in 24 hours for $1200. This place will try to take your money, over estimate, and get as much out of the insurance company as possible.
