Beware of bait and switch. Upon meeting the new manager Crystal and Jacob, the wife quickly wants me not to flirt with her husband. Then she tells me she tells other women customers not to flirt with her husband because the women are "cute." That is a red flag. I have been doing storage for 20 years and been at Macho for 4 consecutive years and no manager ever felt they needed to tell me not to flirt with their husband. This was completely inappropriate to me. Unfortunately, it kept getting weird. These new managers go out of their way to build a quick rapport and false sense of security. They solicited to me their auto shop and move company operating through Macho Storage property. Then Jacob demands thousands $$$ to move a couple of additional storage units in. He warned me that if I did not increase their pay from $2,000.00 to $2,400 his movers would break my stuff. That's a red flag. Another service they solicited to me about resulted in them talking into buying a $7,500.00 vehicle that randomly breaks down. The husband Jacob tells me that this new van is good and I supposedly don't need another shop to inspect it because he already has inspected it. That night the same wheelchair lift van breaks down at the gas station right next to Macho property. They could not care less even though Jacob has his own mechanic shop on Macho property and brags that he is an auto mechanic genius. Suddenly the wife manager Crystal starts going irate about me calling her husband each of the several random van break downs. That's a red flag. She saws to call earlier, so next time I call earlier. She says to only call in an emergency. What is that supposed to mean??? It was triple did it heat in Texas September. My family is in this van where the a.c. Suddenly completely stops working and the van doesn't start. It's a wheelchair bus lift and back door won't open in triple digit heat. This is just after her husband Jacob tells me the van is in good condition and road safe. They are liars setting up ditches for me to fall into. I call Jacob and his wife goes irate again. She keeps making scenes at the storage office. She suddenly starts wearing red striped daisy dukes and a skimpy navy top to the work office. Then when I am rolling in my walker when I ask if I can pay her husband to help me unload my van because it keeps randomly getting stranded, Crystal hollers, "No more help" from her husband and declares it date time with her & her husband. I apologize that my crisis (they created) that they directed is occurring in the middle of her work time romance. However, I do believe that your word and seal of approval should carry accountability. Her romance can wait a couple of hours so my family can get to safety. She created this mess with her and her husband's empty promises, terrible advice, and derelict auto shop. Then Crystal starts making vicious personal attacks out of nowhere. I tried to move out sooner but her husband kept pulling me back, telling me we were just off the a bad start but we can patch it up. I could have moved out safely at that point. He got me stuck in a trap at their storage facility. They caused my van to get stolen right in front of our face while was trying to patch things up so I wouldn't move out while I could. Between the two of them they created so much chaos drama and financial loss. The husband describes himself as an optimist and his wife as a pessimist. He unfortunately give totally bogus advice that sounds optimistic but is in fact a disaster waiting to happen. I don't call that optimism but fraud and deceit more like a con not an optimist. The wife is the one who comes in and shuts down her husband and gets revenge for anything he might possibly help with. She starts things with her husband and then abruptly shuts everything down and goes irate on her customer. I would rather people just do their most basic storage management job at work and stop with all the other side promises of help moving, help with mechanics advice, help with auto repair, help putting up shelves etc. They have no accountability whatsoever. They created so many disasters that cost me nearly $20,00.00. I highly do not recommend this business because of the predatory beginnings of management. read more

Crystal and Jacob, hands down are the most amazing people you could ever ask for. They are very attentive and do their best to address every need you have. Even try to help, when there is hardships financially. They have a family of their own, and know for themselves what it is like to struggle. Most down to earth people you'll ever meet! I rented from here June 2014- June 2015. I had no trouble with the owners whatsoever. They've probably changed by now. I rented an outside unit and when they had the massive flooding during 2015, the place was a bit difficult to access. In addition, some of my books were ruined during the flood and other of my belongings had dirt that had blown in due to the storm. Kelly Chandler at Macho Storage Fort Worth is not a kind person like she pretends to be when you first walk in. She will tell you that she will work with you and then she will not! It's a trick!!!! Look over the dates of your lease contract carefully or do not lease here at all. She back dated mine and then charged me another full months rent before she would unlock the gate pass code for me. It was a day before my lease should have been up and I only needed the storage for 1 month. I could not get my stuff until I paid another months rent. Beware or just do not rent here! Her husband is nice but she takes over after that. So I wouldn't advise it at all! read more

I rented a space here for over 4 years. As far as the day to day operation, cleanliness, etc; it is fine. But I cannot overlook the scary bad temper of the owner. After I had been there 3.5 years my credit card info changed due to a fraud issue on my card. I forgot to notify Macho and when the auto-charge of my card declined, rather than call me and assume the best (as I would with a good 3+year customer) they assumed I was a risk and immediately bolted my unit. When I came in and wanted to know why they had done so, the owner, a tall, large man with threatening presence got in my face, yelled at me, slammed a door, and tore out on his cart to go unlock my unit, muttering, you can drive your damn self there (rather than give me a ride down there). He gave me the impression he might come at me physically, and I was certainly scared my possessions were in danger in the unit after that. This came out of the blue after they had been cordial to me up to that point. Beware! read more
