    Cappuccino and chocolate chip cookies
    Jamie A.

Nice quaint little spot in Bed-Stuy recommended by my wife. I saw a nice amount of folks coming in and ordering food so that's a good sign right there and for me to try next visit. Service was pretty quick being I had something simple but heard the actual meals take a little time, freshly made. I had their cappuccino and fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. Both were delicious. Place is pretty small so getting your food to go is the best way. Unless you're just sipping coffee and a tasty treat, the counter has stools and there's one small table with a chair and bench. Staff are real cool and helpful, and the place is nice and clean. Prices moderate and worth it.

I'm on the fence . Second time here but the food isn't hitting like the first time and you can clearly see that it's two different chefs that made my food

WHOA! WHOA! WHOA! Worth a trip from anywhere just to check out their Cremini ‍ Mushroom Mac & Cheese ! Like wow, if a fancy French restaurant served this dish, THIS is how they'd do it. This isn't some guilty pleasure oozing with cheap cheese, this is an adorably small beautifully lit corner spot that warms n charms you! This place is for sure a hidden gem. It's rated the 57th most popular place in the area but it deserves to be among the top 5 for certain! Seating is at an L-shaped counter, the lovely man in the kitchen knew I was a fan when I ordered a second Mushroom Mac & Cheese (who was I fooling thinking that the tiny "value" size would satisfy me! HA!) They also sell a variety of Vegan items, their VEGAN MAC & CHEESE is rumored to be the best in NYC but the day I visited, they were out of VEGAN cheese, I guess. ‍ They offer breakfast sandwiches that sound great and wings that are supposedly big, with a gourmet glaze and out of this world. They also have fresh-baked cookies muffins and a super-serious looking coffee machine and yes, they have oat milk (unfortunately with an up charge, I don't like that part). This place should have a line around the block! The kitchen here knows what quality is all about and given the large Caribbean community in this area, it's no surprise that their "Jerk Seasoned Mac & Cheese" is the most popular item ordered. So, don't be a Jerk and try this place! If you can connect to the MTA B46 bus, it's a short walk from there and a bit of a longer walk from the nearby A/C subway line to UTICA AVENUE. Bundle up and make this your secret hideaway... "Baby, it's cold outside..." PS Check out the vibrantly bright paintings that adorn the walls, done by Artist Ladie O! This place is a perfect little charmer and a sweet as sugar heart warmer!!!

yeeeeesssss! quick pick up (only waited 10 mins) -- the Small size is easily enough for 2 meals. so glad the woman over the phone (who was super helpful and nice) recommended the mango ginger lemonade because it was sweet but refreshing af and not overpowered by ginger. ordered the jerk mac and cheese! loved the spices and crispy cheese top. they have a lot of options to choose from + they open early with various coffees / smoothies / breakfast items on the menu. You can easily order online and they have various specials and events posted outside the door and on their Instagram (@macshacknyc) will be back another style + to try the strawberry lemonade

Went in to pick up, didn't wait too long and got a generous portion. Was a little light on the meat inside but was still delicious. If you have to pick up a last-minute addition to a potluck you're attending, this would be a great place to grab some sides for everyone that are sure to be a hit!

The food was so good but be warned, the wait took absolutely forever and there's very limited seating inside (I waited 50 minutes for my food). I'd recommend ordering over the phone or through an app and then go to pick it up. Food 9/10 Price 7/10 (expensive) Customer service 8/10 Wait time 4/10 I'll be back but definitely calling ahead to place my order next time!

    4 Classic Mac Balls

First time trying Mac shack and the staff were very friendly and helpful! I had the Mac balls and the lobster Mac and both dishes had great flavor! There was a wide variety of options and I will definitely be back!

Also careful with some of the hot drinks they can be really.... hot. I burnt the roof of my tongue on my hot cider drink.

The butter croissant is truly the perfect example of a well done croissant. Light, buttery, crispy, and flaky. Every bite was fantastic. My next favorite is the black sesame pinwheel. Everything I love about a croissant except now with black sesame cream, which was sooo rich, luscious and not too sweet! The blueberry danish was a summer special, layered with fresh and sweet blueberries. The pistachio pain suisse was filled with nutty pistachio and the layers were super crispy and covered with syrup. This pastry is on the heavier end. Lastly, the matcha danish is the one I was most excited to try as a matcha lover. I was a little thrown off by the layer of chocolate beneath the matcha. But as I continued to eat it, the matcha ended up overpowering it, which is a plus to me! Staff here are friendly and always ready to recommend goods or to chat about your day. Paloma has a solid roster of pastries and they always have seasonal offerings too.

It provides the perfect setting for Barzakh Cafe, a social club/gathering spot of sorts for the pan-Maghreb community across New York. We came for the couscous celebration on July 4th. The owner is Mauritanian, and the couscous reminded me of the ones I've eaten in the northern reaches of Senegal, with tender potatoes, carrots, and cabbage. I had been hoping for something closer to kosksi, but the dish was enjoyable nonetheless. We sat outside in the casually-laid out backyard while hearing songs blending French and Maghrebian Arabic emanating from inside. Barzakh also hosts events from outside the region, including qawwali nights and the like. It is a rare unique space in the neighborhood.
