Soon after they opened their store on 3rd in McMinnville, and now I make the half-hour drive from Forest Grove when I want the best donuts. Their cider donuts are still incredible, but so are the rest. I love that you can choose between raised or cake donuts and then top it how YOU want. Want a chocolate cake donut with peanut butter and lemon glaze? No problem! They will customize your donuts just the way you like them. Pro hint: you can also embellish the cinnamon rolls! If I could give these donuts 6 stars I would! They were freshly made, warm and gooey. There's lots of delicious options to chose from. All donuts we have from now on will not live up to these. I stopped at the cart near Staples on Saturday. I couldnt resist because the line was long & i had a project in the store that would take 20 minutes. We came today during alien fest. There was only a couple people ahead of us. The wait did take a little bit as the customers were taking long to decide. We got to order and the girl on the register was friendly. She took my order and answered my questions. During our wait I noticed a girl assembling the donuts seemed frustrated. One customer had 2 donuts missing from her order and asked nicely for them to be made at the pick up window. When I got my box I also noticed a donut missing from the order. After we asked the register girl for it to be made the girl assembling donuts snapped at her that this was second time she messed up an order and to not let it happen again. I felt embarrassed for the register girl and think the other employee could have handled this better. None of us customers were upset our orders were wrong. We were patient and understanding. I went there about 2 weeks ago with a 45-minute drive and you were already sold out by 10:30 the next time I tried to call but nobody answered the phone so I tried ordering online at 9:00 and when I got there at 10:30 to pick up my order they never saw the order and so never made the cinnamon rolls I ordered. Great donuts, but terrible customer service. I booked the donut truck for an event a month in advance and received a "tentative" yes. Over the course of the next month, my texts were either ignored or met with a tentative yes (as in, "Looks good for that date...etc.). Finally, the night before my event at 8:30 PM (event at 9:30 AM the next morning), they cancelled. "Sorry, it's been insane around here," they said. They ran out of product. Really? If you had a catering event, wouldn't you have ordered extra product? So first thing in the morning, my team was on a donut hunt to feed 100 people. Hooray for Tigard Donut, who saved the day (filled our order, gave us extras, and great product with no preservatives, no trans-fats, and made fresh on site). Don't book MacDaddy for an event, and don't bother contacting them because they don't return your texts or emails or Facebook Messenger messages. read more

Individual custom donuts? YES! Reality? OMG, NO! Amazing concept of made-to-order donuts. I mean where else have you EVER seen that?!? A concept that's completely ruined by horrible ingredients. You start by selecting the donut type: Raised or cake. Simple enough but that right there sets up the failure. The raised donut, while supposedly fresh, was not good. Next, select a frosting or "dip". Choose from chocolate, maple, vanilla, and a few others including cinnamon or powdered sugar. I chose chocolate and it was bad. How can chocolate be bad? I have no idea but it was. Then, select toppings. The fun thing is there are several unusual toppings to choose from like potato chips and cereal along with the usual sprinkles, peanuts, etc. I chose potato chips because POTATO CHIPS!!!, but even those were bad. Were they stale? Or an off brand? They were a kettle type, maybe fresh Lay's would be better? The space is a small storefront with no seating. The donut making station lacks any sort of presentation appeal. I mean, the toppings are kept in clear plastic cups on a shelf. The concept of assembling a custom food item isn't a new one, just ask Subway, Chipotle, MOD Pizza, etc., that have all ingredients displayed in one place so you can see and imagine them as part of what you're ordering. Service and cleanliness: I dunno, the place seemed dingy and the young guy that helped me seemed too cool for the place. Bottom Line: I won't be returning to Mac Daddy Donuts or recommending it to others. This was the first donut I haven't finished in a really long time.
