Both came with a pickle and tortilla chips. I really enjoyed my sandwich. The bread was real bread and the toppings were fresh and delicious. The portion size was great as well. They have all the basics, sure, but really shine with some local and specialty goods. Roth's is my source for Roelli's Red Rock Cheese (an ultra-creamy bleu cheddar that is divine paired with fruit and nut crisps), local SCL's Muruku noodles, and locally grown cut flowers. They are the most prolific purveyor of nicer cheese that I have found in Mcminnville, and though space dedicated to wine is in no shortage at most grocers in the area, Roth's is pleasantly displayed and fun to shop. They have some houseplants and gifts, a decent bakery and deli, a rather large produce and bulk selection, and even offer sushi. Customer service is top priority and it shows - waits in line are never long, and every employee is agreeable and friendly. They have glass and aluminum recycling out front. Selection is limited for some items, notably pharmacy and bath and body, but that is probably not what you're shopping for here anyway. Prices can be a smidge high, but they also have good sales, and overall, it is a good choice for groceries, especially if you are seeking local products or avoiding support of larger chains.

At 5 o'clock rush hour, when the store is packed, they'll have one check stand open. Customers are left standing in long lines while the manager pinches pennies instead of staffing properly. I've even spoken with multiple cashiers who told me directly how bad it is to work here. They say the store is horribly understaffed and that management is the reason. On top of that, shelves are often empty, items aren't restocked, and any specials or deals are gone within minutes because they never keep enough in stock. This store is consistently a frustrating experience, and I blame the poor leadership. I avoid shopping here whenever I can.

As you would expect, they are friendly and speak fluent English and Español. The selection is not bad but the store is rather small, so that limits things. My local Hispanic grocery in Kirkland (Tres Hermanos) has a better selection of just about everything except pastries and ice cream. The pastry selection here is excellent. I don't do a lot of cooking these days, so for me there is one reason this place is a great find: Helados Mexico Paleta de Crema. (Premium ice cream bars.) All kinds of great flavors like Horchata, Pecan, Lime, Coconut, etc. Some like the Pecan and Coconut, have a consistency like gelato. Others like Horchata, have a more Popsicle-like consistency, but they are all great. The flavors are true, with none of that fakey Popsicle taste. The ice cream coolers are in a little room off to your left as you enter. The room is often full of stacks of goods to be put on the shelves, so it looks like it might just be a storage room, but it's ice cream bar heaven.
